Forward Deployed Engineer
We're building the data stack for Physical AI. The Rerun SDK viewer is loved by some of the best robotics and spatial AI teams in the world, and Rerun Hub is live in private preview managing petabytes of data.
Demand is strong, and we need someone whose focus is making customers successful, fast. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll sit with customers from first demo through production, figure out what they actually need, and get something working in front of them. What drives you is unblocking customers and watching them go all-in on the product.
What you'll do
Run demos and onboard customers onsite and remotely, building engineer-to-engineer trust alongside our founders
Take a messy customer problem and stand up a working proof of concept
Be the most expert user of Rerun, and feed relay customers struggles back into the roadmap
-
Coordinate with the team to make every POC and customer onboarding better than the last
What we're looking for
A technical foundation in either Robotics, ML, data engineering, or databases. You are credible with engineers, comfortable in real codebases.
Working Python: you can read, iterate on, and extend existing code and get a POC over the line.
Genuine interest in robotics, spatial AI, or computer vision; hands-on exposure is a real plus
High agency, and genuinely driven by solving customer problems. Technical and real beats charismatic salesperson.
-
Comfortable with 30% travel

Software Engineer, Infrastructure
Software Engineer, Infrastructure
At Rerun, we're building a new multimodal data stack for Physical l AI. Large parts of the physical-world economy will be transformed by these technologies, and we're building the data infrastructure and tools that enable it to happen.
Rerun's open source project is already loved by some of the best teams in the world. Our commercial product, Rerun Hub, is a catalog and storage engine that already handles petabytes of robot training data for early customers, and we're now ready to onboard more teams. Read our latest post on what we're building: A new data layer for robot learning.
You'll join a small team building Rerun Hub, and you'll own the control plane that makes it run, including the Kubernetes operator that automates deploying Hub into customer environments.
What you'll work on
Own our Kubernetes operator: the control plane that provisions, configures, and manages Rerun Hub deployments across our own cloud infrastructure and inside customer accounts. This is real software engineering: CRDs, controllers, reconciliation, APIs, tests, releases.
Deep customer onboarding: When a customer brings new infrastructure requirements, you extend our control plane to accommodate that. Your reconcilers will make Rerun Hub work end-to-end from networking, IAM, storage to cluster configuration.
Production reliability and scale: Observability, CI/CD, incident response, and the deployment experience from local dev through staging to prod.
Follow-the-sun on-call with the rest of the team.
We'd love it if you have
A strong software engineering background. You think of infrastructure as software you build, not just systems you operate.
Deep Kubernetes experience, specifically with the operator pattern: you've designed CRDs, written controllers (controller-runtime / kubebuilder / operator-sdk), and shipped them to production. Earlier-career engineers with strong Go and distributed-systems/kubernetes fundamentals plus genuine interest in this work are equally welcome; we're hiring across levels.
Proficiency in Go, and ability to read and contribute to an asynchronous Rust codebase (or eagerness to learn; much of our stack is Rust).
Solid experience with AWS, infrastructure-as-code (ideally Terraform/OpenTofu), and production-grade observability.
Comfort being customer-adjacent: going into a customer's cloud account and doing the deep plumbing to onboard them.
Great communication in English, an ownership mindset, and a curious, helpful attitude.
Bonus
Experience with high-throughput, time-series, or analytical database systems
Background in data-intensive infrastructure
Interest in robotics, AR/VR, ML, or simulation
How we work at Rerun
We're a remote company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.
We meet up in person for a week roughly once a quarter
The team you'll join has members in European and US-east timezones
Everyone is available for synchronous work between 1:30–5:00pm CET.
Given our current team distribution, candidates outside of Europe or the US will be considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure there’s enough overlap for effective collaboration.
We've put together an uncommonly talented tech team, value agency and helpfulness highly, and expect everyone to take broad responsibility for what they build

Dataframe SDK Engineer
At Rerun, we’re building the data stack for Physical AI. Large parts of the physical-world economy will be transformed by intelligent products, and we're developing the data infrastructure and tools that make it possible.
Our open-source project focuses on logging and visualizing multimodal data and is already loved by some of the best teams in the world. We’re now building our commercial platform — managed infrastructure for ingesting, storing, analyzing, and building training data pipelines for Physical AI at scale.
We’ve built an exceptionally senior, talented engineering team. Now we’re looking for a DataFrame SDK Engineer to own and expand the developer experience for querying and working with Rerun’s data — improving performance, ergonomics, and integrations across our Python and Rust SDKs. This role sits at the intersection of API design, query performance, and developer experience, and will have a direct impact on how customers adopt and build on top of Rerun Cloud.
What You’ll Do
Build a world-class query and dataframe SDK that makes exploring data in Rerun intuitive and powerful
Work across Python, Rust, and gRPC layers to add new operations and integrate with our distributed backend services
Push performance improvements through better query planning, push-down logic, and dataset versioning
Contribute documentation and examples that make the SDK easy to adopt
Collaborate with other engineers on dataset creation, versioning, and catalog interfaces
We’d love It If You Have
Experience building or contributing to Python data APIs, ideally dataframe-style APIs (e.g. Pandas, Polars, Arrow, Snowflake, or similar)
Strong experience in Python and Rust, or a language-agnostic background with proven ability and motivation to pick up Rust rapidly.
Experience writing high-performance software and debugging across Python, Rust, gRPC, and distributed systems
Proven ability to take projects from start to finish with limited hand-holding — you’re comfortable owning a slice of the stack and iterating quickly
Empathy for developers and a sense of taste for clean, ergonomic API design
Bonus Points It If You Have
Experience with Apache Datafusion or Apache Arrow
Familiarity with query planners, compilers, or execution engines
Experience working on data-oriented or multimodal data systems (e.g., robotics, physics modeling, or simulation pipelines)
Knowledge of async Rust or similar concurrent programming models
