About Freehand
Most AI companies are building tools. We're building the worker.
Freehand's AI agents replace the human decision-making and coordination layer that sits above enterprise software — handling the analysis, negotiation, prioritization, and execution that previously required armies of logisticians / supply chain professionals.
Our customers include Apple, Meta, GE, Pfizer, J&J, Schlumberger, Cardinal Health, and Unilever. They chose us because we have a fundamentally different answer to what enterprise software looks like when AI can do the job.
If you want to work on something that matters, with people who will push you to be sharper than you thought you could be, this is the place.
What You'll Do
- Own Freehand's talent strategy in the US end-to-end as the first dedicated US hire on the team — working directly with the CEO and Co-Founder(s) as a strategic partner, not just executing reqs
- Bring market intelligence to every search: research what talent realistically exists, and sharpen JDs and role definitions with hiring managers before sourcing begins
- Lead hiring across three priorities: building Freehand’s first SF-based engineering/product team, GTM roles (marketing, sales and pre-sales), and upgrading Professional Services/Deployment Strategists to serve Fortune 100 clients
- Build the US talent function from scratch — interview process, scorecards, tooling, and a clear definition of “what good looks like” for each role
- Own employer branding and Freehand’s EVP for a not-yet-known, technical brand, through audience-tailored storytelling, public presence, and community/event engagement
- Source creatively beyond LinkedIn — niche communities, events, alternative platforms, AI-assisted sourcing, and referral programs — to reach top 1–2% talent who aren’t actively looking
- Partner on retention and culture, feeding market intel back into Freehand’s people policies so the company stays a place top talent wants to join and stay
- Flex hiring pace to the business — senior/leadership searches are the core mandate, with the ability to scale to higher-velocity hiring pushes without lowering the bar
Who You Are
- Based in the SF Bay Area, comfortable with a hybrid setup
- 5+ years recruiting for new-age tech companies/startups, ideally including at least one 0-to-1 experience building a recruiting function from scratch; also open to ex-Sales candidates now running TA/recruiting for AI startups
- A recruiting background spanning both GTM and technical/engineering hiring — comfortable enough with technical detail to earn credibility with engineering hiring managers
- A demonstrated track record — not just a stated interest — in independently building employer brand, running or attending events, and finding creative ways to reach talent that isn’t easily found. Hunger and willingness to build matter more than polish here.
- Experience hiring for mid-to-senior and leadership-level roles as the core focus, not a junior or volume-recruiting background
- Thrives as a lean, senior IC: builds systems and process from scratch, and leverages AI tools and partners proactively in their work
- A true thought partner to leadership — comfortable having a seat at the table, not just executing what’s asked
Working at Freehand
Series C, ~100 people across the US and India. Big enough to have infrastructure, small enough that your work is visible. We run on five core operating principles; these are not values-on-a-wall, this is the exact philosophy we built our AI agents on :
- Context Before Confidence. We get in, ask (a ton of) questions, connect the dots ourselves and move fast. No passengers, no hand-holding. The amount of confidence you'll have in Week 1 is directly proportional to the context strive to gain.
- Decisions, not Recommendations. Freehand folks decide, they don't present options. You'll have real autonomy, and real accountability to match.
- High Agency, High Trust. We won't manage you closely or ask you to escalate every call. Act, share your reasoning, and course-correct when needed. That's the contract.
- Accountability is the Product. When something goes wrong — and it will — we name it, learn from it, and move on. No politics, no cover. Just fix it.
- The Work That Remains is the Work That Matters. We actively cut low-value work. What lands on your plate is there because it matters — and can only be done by you.
It's a small world. Freehand employees Work Anywhere across the globe (we're remote & travel-first). We also cover your monthly home-internet costs. Every quarter, we arrange for a fully-paid trip to one of our Office Hubs to meet & interact with cross-functional teams.
In addition, we proudly offer the following Benefits to all our full-time employees:
- Take what you need Vacation Policy
- Full health coverage (with multiple gold-standard carriers across medical, dental & vision)
- Life Insurance and Disability benefits
- HSA/FSA Access
- 401(k) with a 4% Employer Match
- Fully-paid Parental Leave
Equal Opportunity
Freehand hires on merit — your thinking, your track record, your potential — without regard to race, gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or any other protected characteristic. If you meet most of the criteria above but not all of it, apply anyway. We care more about your willingness to learn & take initiative than whether your resume maps perfectly to every line.

About Volta
Volta is the category-defining, fully vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform – from capital to clusters to software, under a founder-led enterprise. Our mission is The Utility of Compute™: AI infrastructure as dependable and available as electricity, for every organization that needs it. Launched with a $10B strategic partnership with one of the leading frontier AI labs, a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund, Volta is building the infrastructure layer of the AI era from the ground up. We are 100+ people across London, Palo Alto, and New York, with rapid growth expectations to hundreds.
About The Role
Volta builds and operates large scale GPU compute infrastructure for AI workloads. Our platform is Kubernetes-native, spans multiple regions, and delivers virtual machines, storage, and networking through a fully automated infrastructure stack.
Platform Engineering is organized as capability teams, each owning a defined part of the stack: compute, storage, the control plane and API layer, confidential computing, networking, and the customer-facing surface. You will lead one of them.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You set technical direction for your team's area, carry accountability for what it delivers, and manage the people doing the work. You are expected to stay close enough to the code to take on the hard problems yourself.
What You Will Be Doing
Lead a platform engineering team: technical direction, design reviews, code review, and day-to-day delivery.
Set the technical direction for your team's area of the stack, and design and build the platform layers it owns as product requirements take shape.
Represent platform engineering in roadmap planning: translate product requirements into scoped, sequenced technical work, communicate trade-offs, and keep delivery on track.
Work closely with the bring-up teams to surface operational pain points and turn them into scalable platform features.
Collaborate with the security engineering team to integrate security guidance at the platform layer and ensure findings are remediated effectively.
Coordinate with the other platform engineering leads on shared architecture, joint initiatives, and cross-team and cross-timezone delivery.
Own reliability, observability, security, and interface and versioning standards for the services your team ships.
Stay hands-on: take on complex or high-risk engineering work directly alongside the team.
Run post-mortems and close structural gaps after incidents, not just the immediate issue.
Manage the team: 1:1s, performance conversations, hiring interviews, and onboarding.
What You Bring
5+ years in cloud platform or infrastructure engineering, with at least 2 years leading an engineering team.
Strong backend or systems programming background in a production environment. Our working languages are Python, Go, and Rust; we welcome strong engineers from other compiled or object-oriented languages (for example C++, C#, or Java) who are ready to work across our stack as it evolves.
Kubernetes at depth: cluster operations, CNI networking, scheduling, and workload management in production.
GPU infrastructure experience: provisioning, resource allocation, and surfacing capacity through a platform or API layer.
Solid networking fundamentals: L2/L3, VLANs, overlay networks, and multi-tenant isolation in cloud environments.
Service architecture skills: designing, operating, and versioning production-grade control-plane services and APIs across IaaS and above, holding the team to clean, industry-standard interface and breaking-change practices.
Security awareness: trust boundaries, least privilege, and secure defaults when building platform services.
Proven people management: running 1:1s, delivering performance feedback, and taking accountability for a team's delivery and wellbeing.
Clear communicator who can translate technical complexity for product and leadership stakeholders.
Nice to Have (But Not Essential)
None of these are required. Several map to specific teams, so strength in one or more helps us match you to the right one:
Fluency with AI-assisted development, and interest in scaling agent-assisted workflows across the team (agentic CLI tools, MCP, skills, APIs) to amplify delivery.
Familiarity with confidential computing technologies: TEEs, AMD SEV, Intel TDX, or Confidential Containers (CoCo).
Experience building SaaS or PaaS layers on top of an IaaS platform.
Familiarity with RDMA, InfiniBand, or RoCE networking in GPU or HPC clusters.
Experience working distributed across time zones with counterparts in other regions.
Exposure to serverless or inference serving infrastructure.

We are 100+ people across London, Palo Alto, and New York, with rapid growth expectations to hundreds.
About The Role
As a Technical Program Manager for GPU and Data Center Deployments, you will own end-to-end program delivery for bringing data center infrastructure and AI clusters online. You will operate in a highly ambiguous environment, coordinating across construction, infrastructure, networking, systems engineering, procurement, and operations — driving execution from planning through operational handoff.
This is an ownership role. You will be expected to move programs forward with incomplete information, surface and resolve gaps before they become blockers, and hold multiple workstreams accountable across time zones and organizational boundaries. The best candidates bring deep experience at the intersection of data center construction handover and AI/GPU hardware deployment. You know how construction sequences impact infrastructure readiness, how ICT and CDU work intersect, and how to drive multi-threaded bring-up programs spanning hardware, networking, power, and cooling.
What You'll Do
Program Delivery & Execution
Own end-to-end delivery of GPU cluster activations and data center infrastructure programs, from initial strategic planning through operational handoff.
Drive multi-threaded bring-up programs spanning hardware, networking, power, and cooling — owning plans, dependencies, and critical paths.
Coordinate cross-functional teams responsible for construction, infrastructure, network, hardware, ICT, commissioning, and operations, including vendor and contractor partners.
Anticipate downstream impacts of technical sequencing decisions on capacity, schedule, and cluster performance; identify and resolve blockers before they surface.
Manage and hold accountable vendors, integration contractors, and third-party service providers across the full deployment lifecycle.
Partner with engineering to improve cluster turn-up reliability, repeatability, and automation — reducing time-to-serve for new capacity.
Support network operations and end-to-end physical and logical bring-up, including on-site deployment, rack cabling, and coordination with engineering teams.
Maintain momentum through changing requirements, tight timelines, and cross-time-zone execution.
Stakeholder & Executive Communication
Influence senior executive and c-suite strategic approaches.
Deliver crisp executive-level program status briefings covering schedule health, risks, key decisions, and escalation paths across a broad portfolio of concurrent programs.
Translate complex technical requirements — from highly detailed customer RFPs, integration specs, and architecture documents — into actionable plans for engineering, finance, and marketing stakeholders.
Serve as the primary cross-functional point of contact between engineering, operations, customers, and leadership; code-switch fluently between deeply technical and business-facing audiences.
Interface with chip and hardware providers to derisk onboarding to new platforms across compute, networking, and cooling stacks.
Facilitate alignment across stakeholders at all levels — from network engineers to C-suite — with confidence, clarity, and no ego.
Program Infrastructure & Process
Build and operationalize program mechanisms — roadmaps, milestones, risk registers, RACI matrices, decision logs, and deployment runbooks — that make delivery predictable at scale.
Establish and maintain a single source of truth for all active programs using tools such as Smartsheet, Confluence, Jira, and Notion.
Identify bottlenecks and systemic gaps, then drive durable fixes across tooling, process, and partner interfaces.
Develop scalable playbooks and governance frameworks that create accountability without creating overhead as Volta's deployment footprint grows rapidly.
Champion automation and digital workflows to eliminate manual effort across the program lifecycle.
What You'll Bring
Required
5+ years of experience delivering complex data center physical infrastructure programs or large-scale GPU/AI cluster deployments in fast-moving environments.
Demonstrated experience bridging construction handover and cluster deployment — candidates who are network-only or construction-only will not be a fit.
Hands-on GPU deployment experience, including:
GPU cluster deployment and activation (NVIDIA infrastructure preferred)
Full-stack secure AI factory deployment across compute, networking, storage, and security layers
Ability to read, interpret, and operationalize highly technical customer and vendor specifications
Strong understanding of AI/GPU infrastructure including power density, cooling (CDU/DLC), networking, and deployment sequencing.
Familiarity with how construction, low-voltage, and commissioning activities affect deployment readiness and sequencing.
Proven ability to lead through influence — you don't own the execution teams, but you are accountable for delivery outcomes.
Proven ability to manage vendor and contractor relationships, including understanding schedule and reputational risks.
Ability to develop and present executive-level program status, risk summaries, and key decisions to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills — able to ensure teams at all levels understand priorities and dependencies.
Relentlessly resourceful: you thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and drive execution beyond your defined scope without being directed to do so.
Startup or scale-up experience alongside enterprise pedigree is strongly preferred — candidates who have operated at both ends of that spectrum understand the range of environments this role will demand.
Preferred
Degree in a hard science, engineering, or a demonstrated track record of technical depth in comparable work.
Experience delivering programs across multiple concurrent sites or regions, including EMEA, with staggered milestones.
Experience managing long-lead procurement processes and hardware supply chain constraints that affect deployment timelines.
Background at a Fortune 100 infrastructure company (NVIDIA, Intel, Dell, Cisco, Verizon, AT&T) combined with startup or scale-up experience.
Experience managing BPO or contract labor pools during large-scale hardware deployment phases.
Automation-first mindset with experience identifying and implementing process improvements at scale.
DCD, PMP, CDCPM, CDCMP, CDCP, or comparable certification(s).
Who You Are
You have operated in highly ambiguous, fast-moving environments and know how to prioritize ruthlessly without losing sight of the long-term picture.
You have startup instincts — you fill gaps, take initiative, and drive execution beyond your defined scope before anyone asks you to.
You have enough confidence to hold the room and none of the ego that slows the work down.
You are not a 9-to-5 operator. Global infrastructure programs run across time zones — you know how to chase the sun.
You have built the business case, secured buy-in from technical stakeholders, and presented to executive decision-makers who pushed back hard.
You bring a strong execution mindset with the ability to balance speed, quality, and risk — and you make decisions with data, not assumptions.
You are interested in and thoughtful about the impact of AI infrastructure on the world.

Ricursive at DAC 2026 — Introduce Yourself
Ricursive Intelligence · Palo Alto, California, United States
We're looking for a Head of Competitive Intelligence to build and lead a world-class competitive intelligence function. This person will transform market signals into strategic advantage by developing the frameworks, analysis, and insights that inform our product strategy, go-to-market approach, and executive decision-making.
This is not a research role. It's a highly cross-functional strategy role that sits at the intersection of Product, GTM, Research, and Leadership. You'll establish the systems, operating cadence, and analytical rigor that help the company understand where we win, where we're vulnerable, and how the market is evolving.
What You'll Do
Build and own the company's competitive intelligence strategy and operating model.
Develop and maintain comprehensive competitive assessments, including Harvey Ball analyses, feature matrices, product comparisons, pricing analyses, and market landscape reviews.
Create executive-ready competitive insights that influence product strategy, roadmap prioritization, pricing, and investment decisions.
Build best-in-class objection handling and competitive messaging for Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Partnerships.
Monitor competitor product launches, model releases, acquisitions, partnerships, pricing changes, funding, and GTM motions, synthesizing complex information into clear strategic recommendations.
Establish repeatable processes and tooling for collecting, validating, and distributing competitive intelligence across the company.
Partner closely with Product Management to inform roadmap decisions and identify areas of strategic differentiation.
Collaborate with Marketing to sharpen positioning and messaging based on competitive dynamics.
Support executive leadership with board-ready competitive analyses and market briefings.
Build dashboards and reporting that track competitive movements and emerging industry trends.
Develop frameworks that evaluate competitors across capabilities, enterprise readiness, developer experience, ecosystem, security, and customer value—not just feature parity.
What We're Looking For:
15+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, strategy consulting, product strategy, corporate strategy, or a similar analytical role.
Experience building a competitive intelligence function from the ground up.
Exceptional analytical and structured thinking skills with the ability to distill complex markets into clear frameworks.
Strong understanding of enterprise software, AI platforms, SaaS, or cloud technologies.
Experience producing executive-facing strategic analyses and recommendations.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
Ability to synthesize quantitative data, qualitative research, customer feedback, and market intelligence into actionable insights.
Experience partnering across Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Executive teams.
Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where competitive landscapes evolve rapidly.
Nice to Have
Experience in AI, machine learning, foundation models, or developer platforms.
Familiarity with benchmarking methodologies, win/loss programs, and competitive positioning frameworks.
Experience supporting enterprise sales organizations with battlecards and competitive enablement.
Background in management consulting or strategic planning.
Success in This Role:
Built a trusted competitive intelligence function that informs company strategy.
Established a single source of truth for competitive analyses and market insights.
Created executive dashboards and recurring competitive reviews that shape product and GTM decisions.
Enabled Sales and Marketing with best-in-class competitive content that improves win rates.
Helped leadership identify emerging market opportunities and competitive risks before they become obvious.
You'll thrive in this role if you're intellectually curious, highly analytical, and able to connect disparate signals into compelling strategic narratives. You enjoy building systems from scratch, influencing without authority, and helping an organization make better decisions through deep understanding of the competitive landscape.
