What this job can offer you
As a Tax Manager – Direct Taxes, you will play a leading role in managing complex direct tax matters across multiple jurisdictions. This role combines deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution to ensure compliance while driving global tax efficiency. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and business partners to deliver value across corporate tax, compliance, and tax planning initiatives.
What you bring
Experience: Proven experience in international direct taxation across multiple jurisdictions, preferably gained within a consultancy or multinational corporate environment.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of global corporate tax rules, cross-border compliance, tax treaties, and EU Directives.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights to senior management.
Languages: Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Communication: Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder communication skills across regions and functions.
Industry Experience: Startup or fintech experience is a plus.
Remote Work: Prior remote work experience is advantageous but not required.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Economics, Accounting, or related field; Post-Graduate or Master’s degree in Taxation is a plus.
Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Tax Compliance: Oversee global direct tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate preparation and submission of corporate income tax returns, withholding tax returns, and other direct tax filings across all company entities.
Collaboration with Advisors: Partner with external tax advisors to support filings, documentation, and reporting obligations in multiple jurisdictions.
Sustainable Compliance: Ensure ongoing compliance with local tax authorities, mitigating risk and maintaining strong relationships.
Risk Management: Identify, monitor, and address potential tax risks, proposing actionable solutions.
Tax Audits & Inspections: Assist in managing audits and inspections, liaising with tax authorities to resolve issues efficiently.
Tax Strategy & Planning: Provide strategic tax guidance on cross-border transactions, corporate structuring, and tax-efficient planning aligned with business objectives.
Regulatory Monitoring: Keep up-to-date with changes in global tax laws and proactively adapt processes and strategies.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide a team of tax professionals, supporting their development and day-to-day execution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, legal, HR, and other departments to ensure seamless tax compliance and reporting.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.

Protected characteristics: Such as sex, pronouns, disability status, race, gender identity through voluntary self-disclosure.
Physical or Biological information: If we use video interviewing tools, we may process your audio and visual information.
Precise geolocation: Derived from your IP address (if precise)

Purposes for Collection and Use
The information above is collected and used for the following purposes:
Recruiting and Hiring: To evaluate your qualifications for the position for which you applied and to communicate with you throughout the application process.
Inclusive Hiring: To ensure our hiring process is inclusive, complies with applicable law and regulations, and that people of all backgrounds are represented in our talent pool.
Verification: To verify your candidacy information, identity and legal right to work in respective country. Employment verification involves contacting past employers and may also include contacting listed references.
Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable law and regulations including state and federal laws, such as equal employment opportunity reporting requirements.
Security: To prevent and detect fraud and investigate security incidents.
Selling or Sharing of Personal Information

The position
This is an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a International Tax Manager, joining our Finance team!
Requirements
Collections professional with solid experience and proven performance, mainly consultancy environment
Prior experience with international taxation and financial operations
Experience with a global law firm, Fintech or start up company.
Negotiation and influencing skills.
Data driven communicator.
Professional experience working with large data sets.
Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced, hyper growth environment.
It's not required to have experience working remotely, but is considered a plus.
Writes and speaks fluent English
Demonstrates strong automation and AI capabilities and AI fluency.
Key responsibilities
Assist with advisory projects on personal income tax and social security questions for all active countries
Determine and assess best equity options and payments
Moving forward work with the payroll department at determining the fund flow that will allow the tax efficiency regarding the salary packages and benefits in the different countries
Assess on local tax exposures in the different countries upon the ongoing (personal income tax and social security perspective)
Help the team with any tax question arising from clients
Build documentation resources to address recurring and potential customer questions around tax

Geolocation information: Such as IP addresses from which we can determine your general location.

Physical or Biological information: If we use video interviewing tools, we may process your audio and visual information.

Purposes for Collection and Use
The information above is collected and used for the following purposes:
Recruiting and Hiring: To evaluate your qualifications for the position for which you applied and to communicate with you throughout the application process.
Inclusive Hiring: To ensure our hiring process is inclusive, complies with applicable law and regulations, and that people of all backgrounds are represented in our talent pool.
Verification: To verify your candidacy information, identity and legal right to work in respective country. Employment verification involves contacting past employers and may also include contacting listed references.
Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable law and regulations including state and federal laws, such as equal employment opportunity reporting requirements.
Security: To prevent and detect fraud and investigate security incidents.
Selling or Sharing of Personal Information
Remote does not "sell" or "share" (as those terms are defined by the CCPA) the personal information of job applicants to third parties. We only disclose specific pieces of information to service providers (e.g. Greenhouse) for the specific business purposes described above.
Retention Periods
