Senior Performance Engineer, Data Products
This is a fully remote role within the United States.
We’re looking for a product-minded Senior Performance Engineer to improve how our products interact with large, complex healthcare datasets. This role uses Data Science skills to drive Product Experience outcomes, by iterating to improve the performance of our Data Platform.
The work is analytical, and the outcome is practical: a faster, more scalable product. You’ll investigate existing performance problems, anticipate the impact of future product and dataset changes, shipping improvements across the full system—from data architecture and query execution to API request patterns and user experience.
Success in this role means being able to demonstrate outcomes such as:
A critical filter and data-source combination is now x% faster in production
An incoming dataset change is expected to increase latency by y%, and we have a mitigation plan before launch
A product workflow now uses z% fewer ClickHouse resources without compromising the user experience
Responsibilities
Own performance investigations across the product and data stack, moving from slow queries or poor user experiences to measurable root causes and production improvements
Design and evaluate data architecture changes
Partner with Product, frontend, and backend engineers to adapt product behavior to the characteristics of the underlying data through techniques such as request batching, debouncing, caching, pagination…
Develop representative benchmarks for important combinations of filters, datasets, and product workflows
Measure query latency, throughput, concurrency, and infrastructure consumption, with particular attention to datastore performance and cost (we use ClickHouse Cloud)
Evaluate the likely performance impact of upstream dataset changes before they reach production
Assess future product requests and recommend technical or product approaches that balance functionality, responsiveness, scalability, and cost
Prototype competing solutions, clearly communicate their tradeoffs, and validate the selected approach in production
Improve performance instrumentation, monitoring, and regression detection across data-powered product experiences
Establish reusable patterns and capabilities as the Data Product platform becomes a supporting layer for additional products and teams
What you’ll bring to the role
5+ years of experience building and optimizing production data systems, data-intensive applications, or analytical products
Advanced SQL skills and strong proficiency with Python or another general-purpose programming language
Experience optimizing analytical workloads in column-oriented databases or data warehouses
Experience changing how data is organized or stored to improve application performance. Examples may include restructuring tables, precomputing results, changing indexes, or optimizing how data is queried.
Experience using query plans, profiling, benchmarks, and production telemetry to diagnose performance problems
Ability to reason across system boundaries, including databases, APIs, backend services, client request patterns, and product interactions
A hypothesis-driven approach to performance work: define the problem, establish a baseline, test alternatives, and quantify the production result
A mindset of connecting technical work to user or business outcomes
Your own product judgment, the ability to identify cases where changing the product experience is more effective than changing the underlying data system
Bonus points
Experience with ClickHouse
Experience contributing to data-heavy search, filtering, analytics, or reporting products
Experience with healthcare specific data types: claims, contract rates, revenue cycle, medical billing, or healthcare pricing experience
Benefits
Competitive pay with equity options
Stellar healthcare plan options, including Medical, Dental, and Vision, with FSA, DCFSA, and HSA options
Company-sponsored disability and life insurance
Unlimited PTO
401(k) with 4% matching
Fully remote work and flexible working hours
$750 work-from-home setup budget
Paid biannual in-person company summits
Quarterly $150 co-hanging stipend to meet with coworkers
Monthly $100 health and wellness benefit
Generous paid family leave
Annual $1,200 learning and development stipend

Founding Product Manager, Employer Solutions
This is a fully remote role within the United States.
We are seeking a voraciously curious, systems-minded Founding Product Manager to build our Employer product vertical from the ground up. This is a founding product role: you will define the strategy, ship the first products, and lay the foundation for a durable new line of business serving self-insured employers and the brokers and advisors who guide them. You will be the connective tissue across Turquoise's employer subject-matter experts—holding the product line while pulling their domain knowledge into a coherent, sequenced plan. This role requires deep, first-hand expertise in the direct-to-employer and ecosystem in your own right—its dynamics, incentives, and nuances.
Qualified candidates bring a rare mix of 0→1 product ownership in a complex industry, deep fluency in how employers purchase and manage healthcare solutions, an intense focus on customers and eagerness to engage with them, and the inventiveness to build something where nothing existed before. If you are a systems-thinker who thrives in ambiguity and is passionate about solving complex problems that drive economic change, we invite you to join our dynamic team.
Why this Role Matters
Turquoise has built the most comprehensive picture of negotiated rates and contract data in US healthcare. Employers—and the advisors who serve them—sit at the paying end of that system: they foot the bill for care but have the least visibility into what they're actually buying. Giving them that visibility, and the tools to act on it through steerage, care navigation, and direct contracting, is core to our mission to eliminate financial complexity and rebuild trust in US healthcare. This role owns that expansion end to end—what you build becomes the backbone of an entirely new business unit at Turquoise.
What You'll Do
Own the 0→1: define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Employer vertical, from first customer conversations through first shipped products and early revenue.
Be the connective tissue across Turquoise's employer subject-matter experts, translating deep employer and broker knowledge into a concrete product plan—supported by dedicated solutions engineering and flexible engineering resourcing.
Develop and defend your own point of view on employer ecosystem dynamics—plan design, self-insurance, incentives, steerage, care navigation, and direct contracting—and use it to make sharp prioritization calls.
Relentlessly drive early-stage concepts through iteration, execution, and enhancement, validating with real employer and broker customers and making the calls that move the vertical forward under uncertainty.
Turn Turquoise's pricing and contract data assets into products that solve concrete employer and broker problems.
Facilitate airtight coordination across disciplines within Turquoise—Engineering, Design, GTM, and Solutions—and across key external stakeholders including benefits leaders, brokers, consultants, and TPAs.
Be the customer's voice: build direct relationships with employer benefits teams and their advisors and bring their reality back into the roadmap.
Continuously hone industry and subject matter expertise, staying ahead of market trends and regulatory developments (e.g., CAA transparency and fiduciary obligations) so Turquoise anticipates the tailwinds and headwinds in the employer space.
What You'll Bring
7+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning products end to end.
5+ years building for the direct-to-employer and/or broker market—you understand the ecosystem from the inside.
A deep understanding of employer ecosystem dynamics, incentives, and nuances—plan design, self-insurance, steerage, brokers/consultants, and TPAs.
Demonstrated ability to ship high-complexity, 0→1 solutions in a fast-paced startup environment with rapidly changing priorities.
Subject-matter credibility in your own right—enough that you can serve as the connective tissue for other employer SMEs.
A clear track record of growth and increasing scope—impact and staying power, not just tenure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
Comfort operating in ambiguity, being resourceful with flexible engineering support, and iterating in response to internal and market feedback.
Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience/knowledge. We are happy to work with strong candidates with non-traditional educational backgrounds.
Bonus Points
Experience building care navigation and/or direct contracting solutions.
Proficiency with claims and eligibility data.
Benefits
Competitive pay with equity options
Stellar health care plan options (Medical, Dental & Vision), with FSA, DCFSA, & HSA options
Company-sponsored disability & life insurance
Flexible PTO
401(k) + 4% Matching
Fully remote work + flexible working hours
$750 work-from-home setup budget
Paid bi-annual all-company in-person Summits
Quarterly $150 co-hanging stipend to meet up with coworkers
Monthly $100 health and wellness benefit
Generous paid family leave

What you’ll bring to the role

A track record of taking ownership and driving successful outcomes on high-stakes, company-critical problems.
Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to peers and executives alike.

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver executive-level presentations, distilling complex analyses into clear, board-ready narratives and presenting them with confidence to C-suite and senior client leadership.
Comfortable and curious, adopting AI tools to work faster and sharper, forward-leaning on the technology without needing deep AI/ML expertise.
Strong grasp of reimbursement mechanics and payment methodology across care settings (hospital outpatient vs. ASC vs. physician), and how payer coverage and contract terms translate into revenue.
Genuine technical fluency: comfortable pulling and manipulating data directly in SQL (or equivalent), building your own analyses, and identifying and resolving data discrepancies without waiting on an analyst.
A structured, hypothesis-driven problem solver who can decompose ambiguity, form a point of view, and revise it as the evidence changes

Senior Product Manager, Personalization
This is fully remote role within the United States.
We are seeking a systems-minded, highly collaborative Senior Product Manager to architect and build the foundational experience that powers the entire Turquoise platform. This product owner will own the core connective tissue, including onboarding, preferences, notifications, and reporting, ensuring that every vertical and feature scales seamlessly and feels like a single, coherent user experience.
With support from Engineering, Design, Data, and GTM teams, your ability to untangle deep technical complexity and design durable primitives will directly enable the company to ship faster and scale our mission of simplifying healthcare pricing.
Why this Role Matters
The Personalization team builds the foundational building blocks that the rest of Turquoise relies on. By designing elegant, horizontal surfaces and platform infrastructure, this role directly multiplies the impact of every other product team and ensures a unified, intuitive journey for our customers.
Responsibilities
Own the platform’s core surfaces end-to-end, including onboarding, permissions, preferences, and notifications from strategy through iteration.
Champion the end-to-end user experience, map real user flows and journeys, and shape intuitive, cohesive interactions across every surface.
Think in systems to design primitives and patterns that compose cleanly across products, anticipating second-order effects and prioritizing long-term foundations.
Turn messy, ambiguous horizontal challenges into concrete, elegant requirements and shipped software.
Establish direction with data, defining clear success metrics and leveraging analytics to guide future iteration.
Leverage the latest AI prototyping tools to pressure-test ideas and build rapid proofs-of-concept before committing engineering time.
Facilitate airtight coordination across engineering, design, data, and GTM functions to ship cohesive products.
What you'll bring to the role
5+ years of Product Management experience, with a proven track record of shipping and iterating on shared components of a user-facing platform in a B2B SaaS environment.
Deep platform expertise, specifically managing connective experience, such as onboarding, lifecycle notifications, or permissions.
A design-thinking instinct - you naturally empathize with users, think in flows and journeys, and sweat the quality of the end-to-end experience, not just the individual feature.
Exceptional systems thinking, with a natural ability to reason about dependencies, edge cases, data models, and architectural constraints alongside engineers.
An AI-native workflow, comfortable utilizing modern AI tools to quickly turn product concepts into working proofs-of-concept.
A metrics-driven framework, using customer interviews and product analytics to validate success and make fast, informed decisions.
High EQ and comfort with ambiguity, combining strong communication skills with the grit and judgment to drive progress amidst imperfect information.
A strong mission alignment and a genuine passion for reducing complexity to make healthcare better.
Bonus points:
Experience with recommendation, relevance, or ranking systems
Experience with building internal tools your coworkers love
Experience in a regulated, data-heavy domain like fintech, health tech
Experience at a rapidly scaling, venture-backed startup where things change quickly
Benefits:
Competitive pay with equity options
Stellar health care plan options (Medical, Dental & Vision), with FSA, DCFSA, & HSA options
Company-sponsored disability & life insurance
Unlimited PTO
401(k) + 4% Matching
Fully remote work + flexible working hours
$750 work-from-home setup budget
Paid biannual in-person company summits
Quarterly $150 co-hanging stipend to meet up with coworkers
Monthly $100 health and wellness benefit
Generous paid family leave
Annual $1,200 learning & development stipend
