Senior Manager, Data Engineering drives the simplification and optimization of concurrent project delivery, scheduling, and any processes that cross team boundaries. What You'll Do:
Team Leadership & People Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of highly skilled data engineers, fostering technical excellence and career development.

- Own on-call rotation structure and reduce operational toil through automation and self-service tooling.
Technical Strategy & Architecture
- Design and implement data architecture and infrastructure that aligns with business objectives, including the team's work on a secure, interoperable platform leveraged across all Unite Us products.
- Drive the design, performance, and cost-efficiency of the data lakehouse, data modeling standards, access controls, and query optimization.
- Establish and enforce engineering best practices: code review standards, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response for data pipelines.
- Champion strong documentation practices — runbooks, architecture decision records, and onboarding guides.
Roadmap & Execution
- Own creation and execution of the team's roadmap, defining priorities, sequencing initiatives, and aligning timelines with business goals.
- Manage team capacity planning, sprint/project planning, and roadmap prioritization in collaboration with stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Application Engineers, Product Managers, and other engineering teams to translate data needs and business requirements into scalable pipeline designs and platform extensions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to translate high-level initiatives into actionable team goals, advocate for necessary resources, and report on key performance indicators.
- Disseminate clear goals, context, and vision across the team and with cross-functional partners.
Hiring & Talent
- Participate in hiring: define role requirements, conduct interviews, and build a strong bench of talent.
You’re a great fit for this role if:
- At least 7+ years of experience with a track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams and delivering high-quality software solutions.
- At least 3+ years of direct management experience with product-focused engineering teams.
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration, data-driven performance tracking, and direct customer or stakeholder engagement.
- Proven experience owning production data pipelines at scale, ideally with Apache Airflow (DAG design, scheduling, backfills, sensor/operator patterns)

Etched is building a new category of AI hardware: frontier inference clusters. As a Physical Design Engineer, you will own block-level implementation from synthesis through GDSII sign-off. You will drive Block-level & Subsystem PPA Optimization, and collaborate closely with RTL designers to provide actionable feedback, ensuring we iterate at unprecedented speeds to bring our products to market.
Key Responsibilities
Own block-level and/or subsystem physical design end to end, including floorplanning, synthesis, placement, clock tree synthesis, and routing through GDSII.
Drive block-level timing closure across all corners and modes, including constraint development, STA debug, and functional and timing ECO implementation.
Close block-level signoff across EM, IR drop, RC extraction and correlation, and physical verification (DRC, LVS, antenna).
Generate abstracts, views, and timing budgets for clean hierarchical integration of your blocks into the top level.
Collaborate with RTL Designers and provide Physical Design feedback to improve PPA.
Continuously improve the PPA of owned blocks and contribute learnings back into the shared RTL-to-GDSII flow.
Supervise physical design work outsourced to 3rd party services and be accountable for the quality and closure of delivered blocks.

- This position is remote, U.S. based. Candidates must live in Nebraska to be considered.
- This position may require 30% travel
- The target base pay range for this role is: $110,000-$120,000. This role is eligible for variable compensation. This salary range represents our target hiring range for this role. The proposed salary will be dependent on the candidate's skills, experience, and competencies, as well as location.
- All team members will be required to pass a background check which includes criminal, employment, and education verification
