A bit about the role:
Wise is looking for an Internal Audit Manager to join our new and growing IA team in North America.
Your main task will be to support the internal audit process for the Wise entities in North America and also global audits with NorthAm specific scope. The wider scope includes both global and regional processes and working with colleagues within the company and externally with partnering firms.
The role presents a great opportunity to focus on the development and delivery of audit engagements in a fast paced environment, focused on data driven audit techniques and continuous monitoring. Relevant experience working in assurance, risk or control roles and deploying technology enabled assurance is key to driving the internal audit agenda.
We are a fast growing team, therefore you have the unique opportunity to collaborate and shape the operations, methodology and approaches of the Internal Audit function.
Your mission:
Support the IA NorthAm leadership in creating and timely delivery of the audit universe, risk assessment and audit plan for all applicable entities.
Lead complex IA audit projects including but not limited to fincrime, regulatory compliance, payments, technology and treasury domains. This includes identifying and assessing risks, evaluating controls, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Prepare draft audit reports and executive summaries for the Head of Internal Audit's review. Assist in the preparation of presentations for the Audit Committee and senior leadership, ensuring all findings and recommendations are communicated clearly and persuasively.
Support key projects to deliver an aligned assurance model across Wise.
Monitor the implementation of Internal Audit recommendations by the teams, measure the effectiveness of the improvements and report to oversight committees.
Develop strong relationships internally and externally, including the local regulators. Be seen as a trusted advisor to the business.
Provide advisory support on internal controls for new product launches, entity creations, and business process changes in the region.
Promote and help embed a strong control culture, driving meaningful and relevant assurance programmes at Wise.
The role is Austin based, but many of our teams are located across different office locations. You will travel as needed to meet your objectives.
A bit about you
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of the North American regulatory landscape (OCC, CFPB, FinCEN, FINRA, State regulators, RPAA, Bank of Canada, relevant regulatory frameworks and requirements for the licensed entity) and working knowledge of global regulatory frameworks and requirements relevant to payments, fintech and/or broader financial services firms.
Proven experience working in risk, control or assurance.
Experience working for a technology, fintech or broader financial services industries.
Working independently, you assume responsibility and you make your own judgement and keep your leader informed.
Ownership over complex areas and solve problems with no or very limited guidance.
An understanding of compliance with regulatory requirements, evaluating internal policies, and contributing to the control environment.
Strong coordination skills and you are able to hold teams accountable for meeting deadlines and delivering high quality outputs.
Passionate about driving change, making improvements and helping stakeholders.
Strong relationship builder across all levels of the business and externally. You manage and influence stakeholders with ease.

Experience:
6+ years of experience in an audit/assurance/internal controls role within the financial services industry, fintech or technology company.
2+ years of experience managing a team.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least one professional certification: CFE/CIA/CISA/CPA/CAMS. More than one certification is highly preferred.
Managed collaboration projects involving internal and external teams.
Nice to have's:
- Worked and delivered in highly regulated environments within Fintech or Financial Services industry (highly preferred).

Your Mission:
Supervision of our appropriate measures to ensure that Financial crime risks are taken into account in our day-to-day operations.
Provide advice and guidance to other teams and key stakeholders – regionally and globally, on BSA, AML/CTF and OFAC sanctions regulations as well as related Wise policies and procedures
Support in the development and maintenance of the compliance FinCrime oversight framework and our North America AML and Sanctions policies
Prepare quarterly compliance reports to the leadership team of the Wise National Trust
Challenge first line teams on the development of controls and provide approvals on any control changes, new products or features
Represent fincrime compliance oversight both internally and externally to regulators, auditors and partners as required showcasing Wise’s strong oversight compliance framework
Deputising for the BSA/AML Officer as required ensuring that there is strong oversight of all compliance operations including AML, Fraud, Sanctions, KYC/CDD and EDD
Serve as a member of the US SAR committee, providing feedback to our FinCEN Reporting Team
Contribute to the company’s Financial Crime Risk Assessment
Horizon scanning of new FinCrime regulatory developments and maintaining oversight of implementation of such development which impact business activities
Proactively identifying key areas of risk and work with first line teams to in the development of mitigation plans
A Bit About You:
10+ years in financial crime compliance
Direct experience with federal regulators
Theory. You are an expert in US financial crime regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and may be currently working or have worked within the area of financial crime compliance preferably in a fast paced environment either in-house or as a consultant.
Practice. You have demonstrable experience designing and challenging processes, ideally across multiple products. You have thought deeply about the Wise mission and how it intersects with compliance.
Passion. You are solution oriented and get a kick out of improving current practices and processes and can apply different compliance strategies to develop compliance frameworks.

We’re looking for an experienced Treasury Manager to join our Treasury team in Austin. This role is a unique growth opportunity in our Treasury within our newly created Markets team, with the ability to have a direct impact on Wise's mission → Money without Borders.

Our Markets team manages the risk on our GBP 120bn+ FX book and our GBP 21bn of customer assets.
Here’s how you’ll be contributing to the Treasury team:
- Using your risk management and execution experience, you will help us manage group wide FX risks and manage liquidity trades to ensure we have money where our customers need it
- As part of a Global Team, manage the day-to-day FX hedging activities during the US timezone. This will include managing our hedging strategies across FX products (Spot, Forwards & NDFs in the US timezone)
- Working closely with Treasury Data Analysts & Scientists to assess risk over upcoming market events, product launches and regular assessment of existing and new trading strategies. Work on automating risk management and funding strategies once proven
- Working closely with Treasury Liquidity Operations & Regional Banking to optimize funding and reduce Treasury costs with our partners in US time zone

You’ll be comfortable handling complicated and tricky issues when they come up, and working with internal teams and journalists to ensure that Wise’s reputation is upheld. You’re familiar with industry jargon and know how to dive into the product or a topic to understand the details, and then simplify them for your audiences.
Your primary focus will be on the US, while also working with members of the global PR team to deliver projects and brand engagement narratives globally. You have strong press contacts in national and financial media. You’re proactive, creative and enjoy working in a fast-paced global team and organization.

What you'll do:
Content development and execution: Support the creation of high-quality financial communications materials from the conception stage, including scripts, press releases, presentations, messaging and Q&A documents to support financial results and other corporate announcements. You’ll ensure all materials are accurate, easy to understand and aligned with broader company messaging.
Drive media engagement: Execute press relations by building and maintaining relationships with financial and business media, owning these connections and prepping our executives for secured meetings and speaking opportunities. You’ll lead on the development of briefing materials, drafting responses to reporter inquiries and contributing to communications plans that enhance the company's reputation with key business and financial media.
Award submissions and speaker support: Run point on the development of award submissions and speaking opportunities that propel our corporate priorities.
Handle crisis and issues management: Lead rapid response communications during sensitive situations, coordinating with global teams and providing steady leadership under pressure.
Partner cross-functionally: Develop relationships with stakeholders across IR, Legal, Marketing, Product, and Regional + Global Leadership teams to ensure communications efforts are aligned and reflect consistent brand voice. Provide communications counsel and deliver feedback that will shape our strategy.
Develop smooth processes: Assist in creating a planning process that allows global workstreams to bring corporate moments to US audiences with ease. You’ll offer guidance based on your experience, implementing best practices for repeatable reporting.
What you'll bring:
Leadership experience: You've spent 8+ years building your career in public relations, with a proven track record leading communications strategy.
Financial communications: At least 3-4 years in the financial communications space, supporting PR efforts for a publicly traded company in the US.
Strategic execution: Deep experience independently developing comprehensive strategies and creative storytelling that builds brand engagement and trust among key audiences. You're not too senior to write a press release or brief an agency, but you're strategic enough to shape direction.
Influencing Leadership: You have experience with C-suite and regional leadership, providing counsel that influences business decisions.
Media relationships: Familiarity with the financial and business press landscape, including existing connections and the ability to further build quality relationships.
Partner solutions: Have demonstrated the ability to work comfortably across a fast-paced organization to deliver quality materials that align stakeholder goals and meet audience expectations.
Crisis management experience: You can handle sensitive situations with composure, having experience managing issues in regulated or complex environments. You know how to protect brand integrity while navigating challenging situations.
Strong writing and communication skills: Crafting creative concepts, strategic briefs, press releases, and leadership communications is second nature to you. You can distill complex information into compelling narratives and adapt tone for different audiences.
Tech/fintech sector expertise: You’ve worked in-house in this space so you understand product launches and their technical nuances, regulatory complexity, fast-paced environments, and how to communicate these concepts to everyday people.
