Senior Mobile Engineer
About Abridge
Abridge was founded in 2018 with the mission of powering deeper understanding in healthcare. Our AI-powered platform was purpose-built for medical conversations, improving clinical documentation efficiencies while enabling clinicians to focus on what matters most—their patients.
Our enterprise-grade technology transforms patient-clinician conversations into structured clinical notes in real-time, with deep EMR integrations. Powered by Linked Evidence and our purpose-built, auditable AI, we are the only company that maps AI-generated summaries to ground truth, helping providers quickly trust and verify the output. As pioneers in generative AI for healthcare, we are setting the industry standards for the responsible deployment of AI across health systems.
We are a growing team of practicing MDs, AI scientists, PhDs, creatives, technologists, and engineers working together to empower people and make care make more sense. We have offices located in the Mission District in San Francisco, the SoHo neighborhood of New York, and East Liberty in Pittsburgh.
The Role
Abridge is looking for Mobile Engineers to join our growing team! You’ll play a key role in our technology decisions and implementation, and you’ll see firsthand the impact that we’re making on healthcare. You’ll build and support functionality in primarily React Native but also native code for both our iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin) apps. As a growing startup at the edge of this wave of AI, you’ll have opportunities to work across our stack and help develop best practices as our industry continues to shift.
What You’ll Do
Scale up our business by designing, building, and supporting easy-to-use mobile applications
Make and implement technology decisions that support business needs without compromising security, privacy, or quality
Enhance existing systems to add new functionality, and to improve performance, stability, quality, and security
Advocate for high standards; make quality-of-life improvements to the codebase; and help limit the growth of technical debt
Build deep user empathy and maintain a user-centric mindset
Communicate regularly and effectively within and on behalf of our cross-functional product delivery teams. You’ll work with other disciplines including design, product, machine learning, and infrastructure, and will have opportunities to learn from and contribute to projects across the company
Mentor and learn from other engineers
What You’ll Bring
7+ years’ experience building, shipping, and supporting mobile applications, including 2+ years of experience with React Native or React. You’ve seen what works, and probably a few things that didn’t work
Have independently worked and delivered a small app or entire feature in a larger app
Excitement about working in our mobile tech stack, which includes both React Native and Android/iOS Native
Ability to act with autonomy & self-direction while working well in a team environment
Willingness to pitch in wherever needed - as a fast-moving startup we need to do good work, quickly
Are comfortable with working across domains and languages with a curiosity to experiment & learn new things
Bonus points if you have experience with any of the following on mobile: audio playback, audio recording, file encryption, or online vs. offline mode
We value people who want to learn new things, and we know that great team members might not perfectly match a job description. If you’re interested in the role but aren’t sure whether or not you’re a good fit, we’d still like to hear from you.

Senior/Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer
The Role
Want to work on building out security from the ground up at the leading edge of AI in healthcare globally? We're looking for a very experienced and highly motivated Senior or Staff Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our team as one of the first engineers on the Abridge Security team. In this role, you'll be a key technical leader, driving key initiatives that shape our product, infrastructure, and engineering practices.
You'll work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to integrate security seamlessly, automate security capabilities and controls, design and implement the high-scale infrastructure and data pipelines that power our security organization, and mentor others to build secure-by-default systems at scale in the age of AI.
This position requires deep technical expertise, a builder's mindset, and excellent communication skills to influence security culture across the organization. This is a greenfield opportunity to architect the way forward for security at Abridge. You will thrive here if you are passionate about building 0 → 1 and believe that modern security is, at its core, a large-scale data and automation challenge.
What You’ll Do
Engineer Internal Security Platforms: Develop and maintain self-service platforms that allow security teams to manage secrets, identity perimeters, and security guardrails at scale.
Automation and DevSecOps: Write production-grade services to automate complex security workflows, turning manual interventions into reliable, code-driven processes.
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC): Establish automated security guardrails and golden path modules that ensure our cloud resources are secure by default. Codify infrastructure including networking, IAM, Kubernetes, databases, streaming and pubsub platforms, storage, distribution, and more.
Build the Security Data Backbone: Design, build, and operate high-scale data pipelines to ingest, normalize, and enrich security telemetry for our detection and response functions.
Enable Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with platform and product engineering to integrate security requirements into the developer lifecycle without introducing friction.
Greenfield Leadership: Influence the selection of our security stack, evaluating build vs. buy for core security tooling, and establishing the engineering standards for a growing team.
What You’ll Bring
Engineering Maturity: 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years of infrastructure-as-code experience in a cloud-first organization. You bring the seasoned perspective required to establish infrastructure standards for a founding team.
The "Platform First" Mindset: You are a software or systems engineer who has spent years building in cloud-native environments (GCP or AWS). You view security as a platform service, not a gate, and have a track record of building tools that people actually enjoy using.
Systems Architecture: Experience designing for high availability and scale. You understand how to handle "bursty" security log traffic and build resilient, distributed systems. Experience building and maintaining data pipelines is a plus.
Software Engineering: Expert proficiency in at least one modern general-purpose language (Python is a plus). You write clean, testable, and maintainable code.
Cross-Functional Influence: Demonstrated ability to drive large, cross-functional technical projects that impact security posture across the entire organization.
Pragmatic Execution: You have a bias for action and a knack for navigating ambiguity. You understand how to weigh security risks against business velocity, choosing paved road solutions that empower your internal partners and developers.
Bonus Points If…
You are excited to be a founding member of a security team, setting the technical bar from day one and building paved road solutions that empower your internal security partners and developers.
You thrive in ambiguity and are excited about a greenfield environment.
You believe that detection and governance are only as good as the infrastructure supporting them.
You treat infrastructure as code and data as a first-class citizen.
You enjoy moving between high-level architectural design and deep-dive coding/debugging.
