About the Role
The Frameworks Team at Commure builds and operates foundational software systems used across the Engineering organization. The team owns shared libraries, frameworks, services, and developer tooling that power critical platform capabilities, including authentication and authorization, database migrations, AI agent platform, application performance, security, and developer productivity.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will own and influence critical technical surfaces that span multiple products and engineering teams. You will design and evolve secure, scalable, and highly reliable authentication and authorization systems, while also contributing to broader platform initiatives that improve application performance, operational reliability, and developer velocity.
This is a highly technical and hands-on role with significant organizational impact. You will work across application, platform, infrastructure, and security boundaries—solving complex distributed systems problems, making long-term architectural tradeoffs, and creating durable patterns that can be adopted across the company.
You will also help shape the technical direction of the company’s core platform, including how teams interact with our AI agent platform, how services authenticate users and workloads, enforce authorization policies, communicate securely, and are built, tested, observed, and deployed. Beyond delivering individual systems, you will create frameworks, abstractions, and engineering practices that enable teams across the organization to build secure and reliable software faster.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Own and evolve the architecture of authentication and authorization systems used across multiple products and services.
- Design and build secure identity workflows, including OAuth 2.0/OIDC flows, token issuance and validation, session management, service-to-service authentication, and fine-grained authorization.
- Lead the design and evolution of shared platform services and reusable engineering patterns, enabling teams to build and operate microservices consistently and safely.
- Drive improvements to application performance and scalability, identifying systemic bottlenecks across APIs, databases, caching layers, middleware, and distributed service interactions.
- Improve developer productivity and experience through faster CI/CD workflows, reusable service tooling, test infrastructure, local development environments, and self-service platform capabilities.
- Establish strong standards for observability and operational readiness, including monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, SLOs, and safe production rollouts.
- Partner closely with platform and product teams to protect sensitive customer data, strengthen security boundaries, and meet regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Lead complex technical initiatives that span multiple systems and teams, from architecture and design through implementation, migration, rollout, and production operations.
- Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance security, correctness, reliability, performance, simplicity, and delivery velocity.
- Mentor Senior and other Staff engineers, lead architecture and design reviews, and raise the technical bar through clear technical direction, high-quality engineering practices, and thoughtful feedback.
- Operate with strong end-to-end ownership in a fast-moving environment, proactively identifying systemic risks and driving durable solutions rather than local fixes.
WHAT YOU HAVE
REQUIRED
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong track record of designing, building, and operating complex production systems at scale.
- Strong experience with authentication and authorization systems, including practical knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OIDC, JWTs, session and token management, service-to-service authentication, RBAC, ABAC, and policy-based authorization.
- Deep expertise in backend and distributed systems, including service architecture, APIs, databases, caching, asynchronous processing, and cloud-native systems.
- Strong technical judgment and security fundamentals, with the ability to reason about trust boundaries, identity propagation, least privilege, failure modes, and secure-by-default system design, while balancing security, reliability, performance, simplicity, and delivery velocity.
- Experience leading large, multi-component technical initiatives across team boundaries, from architecture and design through implementation, migration, rollout, and production operations.
- A strong operational and platform mindset, with experience in areas such as Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, observability, CI/CD, safe migrations, incremental rollouts, and production reliability.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and multiply the effectiveness of other engineers through technical leadership, architecture reviews, clear communication, mentorship, and reusable frameworks and tooling.
- A high degree of ownership and curiosity: you are comfortable moving between architecture and implementation, diving deeply into unfamiliar systems when necessary, and staying accountable for end-to-end outcomes.
PREFERRED
- Experience building centralized identity, authentication, or authorization platforms used across multiple products or engineering teams.
- Experience with technologies in our ecosystem, including AWS Cognito, Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, PostgreSQL, Go, Kubernetes, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leveling up an engineering organization
- Knowledge of healthcare security and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2)

About the Role
The Data Integrations team owns the systems that move clinical and financial data between Commure and hundreds of external healthcare endpoints. The domain is EMRs, but the engineering problem is distributed systems at scale: durable orchestration on Temporal, strong delivery semantics against unreliable third parties, and a data and networking substrate that has to keep up as the business grows.
We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction for this platform and help us scale as we more towards Enterprise Customers.
What You’ll Do
- Set the technical direction for the platform. Decide what we build and how we execute.
- Own the architecture of the systems that move data through our platform, the orchestration layer, the pipelines, the data stores, and evolve them as scale.
- Look ahead. Anticipate the scaling and reliability walls we'll hit two and four quarters out, and get in front of them before they become incidents.
- Set the bar for observability and operational readiness (monitoring, logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, SLOs, and safe production rollouts) and make sure the team actually lives by it.
- Work hand-in-hand with platform and product teams to keep sensitive customer data protected, tighten security boundaries, and stay on top of our regulatory and compliance obligations.
- Own complex, cross-system initiatives end to end: architecture and design, implementation, migration, rollout, and everything that comes with running it in production.
- Make pragmatic calls that weigh security, correctness, reliability, performance, and simplicity against how fast we need to ship.
- Mentor Senior and Staff engineers, run architecture and design reviews, and push the technical bar higher through clear direction, strong engineering habits, and honest feedback.

What You Have
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a substantial chunk at Staff-equivalent scope: architectural decisions on multi-quarter projects, made under real constraints, that you'd still defend today.
- Deep experience building and operating distributed systems at scale, high-throughput pipelines, data-intensive services. You can talk about the non-obvious failure modes, not just the happy path.
- Strong data-layer and concurrency judgment. You've made a relational database (Postgres or similar) do more than it wanted to, and you know when to reach for a DB lock, when Redis is the right tool, and when the right move is a design that doesn't need either.
- Real depth in the boring-but-critical layers. Networking and egress (NAT, static IPs, connection lifecycle, DNS, TLS), the database, the container runtime. You've been the person the org turns to when something below the application layer is misbehaving.
- Production experience with GCP and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Knative, or similar serverless-on-k8s), and fluency in a modern backend language (Python strongly preferred; Go or similar is a plus).
- The ability to translate business goals into technical direction, and technical tradeoffs into language non-engineers can act on.
- A history of leveling up the engineers around you.
Bonus if you have
- Healthcare integrations experience — HL7 v2, FHIR, and EHRs like Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth. We can teach the domain; we're hiring for the systems judgment above.
- Experience with the compliance envelope this work lives inside (HIPAA, SOC 2) and the security posture that comes with handling PHI.

About the Role
We're hiring a Staff Software Engineer to own the accounts and ledgering spine of our RCM platform. This is the path from "insurance paid us" to "the books balance, the patient knows what they owe, and leadership can trust the numbers."
The team is designing and building the next generation of our account and ledgering system. We're moving toward an event-oriented financial model where every charge, payment, adjustment, and refund is immutable. Balances get derived from history rather than maintained by hand. Reporting should fall out of the design, not be stitched together afterward.
Your team owns the full money path:
- The insurance ledger append-only entries recording payer payments, contractual adjustments, denials, and patient responsibility buckets per procedure, with reversal/refund chains for corrections
- Posting and adjustment engines that turn remittances into ledger entries and automatically write off, rebucket, or transfer amounts to patient responsibility based on customer rules
- Patient account ledgers tracking balance, payments, credits, and refunds that drive statements, the patient portal, and collections
- Bank reconciliation — matching insurer checks to actual bank deposits (via bank APIs, BAI2 files, OCR'd deposit slips) so we only post against verified dollars
- Reporting ledger and AR — procedure-level rollups, point-in-time views, AR aging, collections reports, plus drift detection when operational balances disagree with reports
- An emerging unified event stream that will become the backbone of a cleaner, replayable ledger architecture
What You’ll Do
- Design the next-generation account and ledger model, immutable events, derived balances, clear semantics around payer balance vs. patient balance vs. adjustments vs. cash, with invariants that make it structurally impossible to "print money"
- Keep operational balances and financial reports in lockstep. Posting, adjustments, patient balances, rollups, and balance reports need to agree. When they don't, we need drift detection and self-healing
- Reconcile three (or four) sources of truth: billed charges, payer remittances, bank deposits, and financial reports. Surface discrepancies before customers do
- Scale idempotent, explainable posting and adjustment pipelines across high transaction volumes using negation/reversal semantics instead of mutable edits
- Operate money-critical systems on very large Postgres tables, safe migrations, trigger-driven projections, backfills, observability, and incident response where "eventually consistent" isn't acceptable

About the Role
At Commure, our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) AI team is building the autonomous backend that turns healthcare's most manual financial workflows into intelligent systems. You'll ship production AI directly into core revenue cycle operations, with LLM-powered agents and copilots that automate claims submission, remittance posting, denials and appeals, and document extraction with real guardrails and compliance built in. About the Role
We're hiring a Software Engineer II to join Air Billing, the team behind the highest-traffic surfaces in our practice management product: claims, appointments, and payments posting — the workspaces billers and practice staff live in all day.
These aren't basic CRUD screens. They're fast, data-dense, keyboard-driven workflows over millions of claims, sitting on real healthcare plumbing (EDI transactions, payer automations). AI is central to how we drive productivity, but we don't solve everything with an agent — we put LLMs in the loop only where day-to-day friction is highest.
We're mid-way through a generational rebuild of these surfaces, and there's an enormous amount to build: rebuilding the claims workspace, making bulk operations safe over tens of thousands of records, stitching together a unified claim activity timeline, and putting AI to work where billers feel the most friction. As a Software Engineer II, you'll own end-to-end features across this work and see them run in production for billers every day.
You'll join a small, tight-knit team that owns the claims, appointments, and eligibility surfaces end-to-end. It's a hands-on group that ships fast, reviews each other's work closely, and sits right next to the billing operators who use what we build — so you'll see the impact of your features in days, not quarters. You'll work alongside senior engineers who'll help you go deep on the domain and grow into bigger problems over time — and, as the team scales, take a growing hand in setting the technical standards and direction we all build on.
What You’ll Do
- Own features end-to-end on the claims, appointments, and payments-posting surfaces — from design phase through production rollout
- Write production-ready code with meaningful tests and observability, and design clean interfaces and data models that hold up as the surfaces grow
- Partner with product, design, and billing operations to make sure what you ship actually solves the biller's workflow problem
- Build reliability and observability into your features — dashboards, logging, and alerting that make production issues fast to catch and root-cause
- Review code and designs with an eye toward correctness, performance on data-dense screens, and a consistent user experience
- Help set the technical standards and direction the team builds on as we scale — shaping component patterns, API and data-fetching conventions, and testing and observability practices, and helping onboard and level up teammates
What You Have
- 3+ years building full-stack applications, with a track record of shipping features end-to-end in production
- Solid frontend skills — you build clean, maintainable UIs and can diagnose and fix common rendering issues in data-dense screens
- API and data-layer fundamentals — you can build backend endpoints handling filtering and pagination over sizable datasets, and reason about the queries behind them

About the Role
You'll build AI-native software that makes medical billers dramatically more productive. Billing in America is a messy, meticulous, and a largely manual process. Hospitals have to throw huge administrative teams at it, and small practices bleed cash flow as they struggle to use outdated tools.
Our team, Air Billing, is behind the highest-traffic surfaces in our practice management product: claims, appointments, and payments posting—the workspaces billers and practice staff live in all day. These aren't basic CRUD screens; they're fast, data-dense, keyboard-driven workflows over millions of claims, sitting on real healthcare plumbing (EDI transactions, payer automations). AI is central to how we drive productivity, but we don't solve everything with an agent. We only put LLMs in the loop where day-to-day friction is highest.
We're mid-way through a generational rebuild of these surfaces, and of the frontend and backend architecture beneath them, to keep pace with the company's growth. As a Staff Software Product Engineer, you'll set the technical direction for that rebuild—across multiple teams, not within a single one. Our stack is React 19 / TypeScript on the frontend and Python/FastAPI + PostgreSQL on the backend, with a columnar warehouse for analytics.
What You’ll Do
This is a staff-level role: your job is to raise the ceiling for every team building biller workflows, not to be the fastest individual contributor.
- Set the technical direction for the biller-workflow platform—the frontend and backend architecture that multiple teams build on—and drive it to adoption across the RCM engineering org
- Establish the standards and patterns other teams follow: component and design-system conventions, data-fetching and API contracts, testing, and observability practices that keep a large, multi-team frontend consistent and fast
- Lead the hardest cross-cutting problems end to end, partnering with the teams that own them:
- Data-dense tables at scale—server-side grouping, filtering, and virtualized rendering over millions of records
- Idempotent, queue-backed bulk operations that safely mutate tens of thousands of records with undo and auditability
- A unified claim activity timeline across submissions, payer status, remittances, appeals, and prior auth
- Embedding AI where it removes real friction—claim comparison, submission-error reasoning, and rule suggestions
- Ensure engineering excellence across teams through architecture reviews, deep code review, and mentorship that levels up engineers beyond your immediate team
- Own reliability and performance in production for these surfaces—render and query performance, replica-lag handling, and the health of claim-submission pipelines
- Partner with product, design, and billing operations to turn the messiest parts of the billing workflow into software, with feedback loops measured in days, not quarters
What You Have
- 8+ years building large-scale, full-stack applications — setting technical direction and raising the bar across multiple teams
- Org-wide frontend leadership — you've orchestrated the adoption of a design system or shared component architecture across a large organization, established the best practices and patterns behind it, and ensured engineering excellence across multiple teams contributing to one frontend.
- You can still go deep: diagnosing and fixing React rendering bottlenecks in complex, data-dense UIs
- Strong API and data-layer design — you set the conventions for REST endpoints handling filtering, grouping, and pagination over large datasets, and know how to optimize the queries behind them
- A track record leading multi-month, multi-team initiatives — you've driven a large migration or platform rebuild across several teams and shipped it incrementally without breaking users
- A force multiplier — you define conventions, review broadly, and mentor engineers across teams to raise the technical bar
- Strong debugging and observability instincts — monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices
- Excellent communication — you can align both leadership and multiple engineering teams around a shared technical direction
- Ownership mindset and strong bias for action — you've owned meaningful product surfaces and driven ambiguous work to completion in an unstructured environment
- Deep expertise in TypeScript/React, Python, and PostgreSQL
Nice to Have
- Experience with analytical/OLAP stores (StarRocks, ClickHouse, Druid) alongside transactional PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with healthcare billing data — EDI X12 (270/271, 276/277, 835, 837), clearinghouses, ERAs/EOBs, denial codes — or a demonstrated ability to master a gnarly domain quickly
- Experience shipping LLM-powered features into production workflows, not just demos
- Strong product intuition with a track record of influencing UX/UI decisions to improve usability
- Experience with developer tooling and CI/CD pipelines for frontend applications
- Experience working in highly regulated industries (healthcare, finance, insurance) with a focus on security and compliance

About the Role
We’re building a next-generation ambient AI platform for healthcare, helping clinicians focus on patient care by automatically capturing, understanding, and structuring clinical conversations in real time.
Our product supports clinicians across the full care workflow, from capturing patient conversations and reviewing AI-generated documentation to coordinating follow-up actions and completing work across mobile and web.
We’re hiring a Full-Stack Product Engineer to build these experiences from end to end. You’ll work across our mobile and web applications, backend services, APIs, and AI-powered workflows, partnering closely with product, design, clinical, and AI teams.
This role is for an engineer who cares deeply about the people using the product. You think beyond whether a feature technically works to whether it is intuitive, responsive, trustworthy, and valuable in a real clinical environment. You’re comfortable moving through the stack to solve the whole problem, whether that means refining an interaction, designing an API, improving a data model, integrating an AI capability, or strengthening the system behind the experience.
Our mobile application is primarily built in Flutter, alongside web applications, browser-based surfaces, and backend services. Flutter experience is helpful but not required. We value strong product engineering judgment, full-stack versatility, and a track record of shipping high-quality user experiences.
What You’ll Do
- Build and own high-impact product experiences from early exploration through launch, measurement, and iteration.
- Develop new workflows for AI-native healthcare software, including:
- Real-time transcription and ambient documentation
- AI-assisted review, editing, and clinical workflows
- Multimodal inputs and intelligent recommendations
- Agentic actions that help clinicians complete work
- Collaborative and cross-device workflows
- Offline and low-connectivity experiences
- Work across mobile, web, backend services, and APIs to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences.
- Partner closely with clinicians, product managers, and designers to understand real-world problems and translate them into simple, thoughtful products.
- Collaborate with AI engineers to bring model capabilities into production in ways that are responsive, understandable, and trustworthy.
- Design data models, APIs, and service boundaries that support fast product iteration and reliable user experiences.
- Build polished interfaces across our Flutter mobile application and web-based surfaces.
- Own the quality of what you ship, including usability, performance, accessibility, analytics, testing, observability, and release readiness.
- Improve shared systems and product foundations when they unlock faster or better development, including:
- Reusable application components and interaction patterns
- State management and data-fetching primitives
- Networking, caching, and synchronization
- Background processing and resilient workflows
- APIs, services, and asynchronous jobs
- Logging, monitoring, and product diagnostics
- Prototype quickly, learn from real usage, and refine experiences using qualitative and quantitative feedback.

What You Have
- Professional software development experience, with significant ownership of user-facing products or features.
- Strong experience building applications across multiple parts of the stack, such as mobile or web clients, backend services, APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.
- A track record of taking ambiguous product ideas through technical design, implementation, launch, and iteration.
- Strong product judgment and attention to interaction quality, usability, performance, and craft.
- Experience building polished frontend experiences using a modern mobile or web framework.
- Experience designing and operating backend services, APIs, and data models in production.
- Comfort moving through the stack to solve the most important product or user problem.

Our job is the full arc: research the technology, productize it, deliver it to customers, and own it as a P&L until it graduates.

What You Have
- 4+ years of experience developing software, with a background in shipping products in a fast-paced, rapidly scaling environment
- 1+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, performance reviews, and fostering a culture of growth and collaboration
- A strong foundation as an individual contributor, with the ability to roll up your sleeves, dive into the codebase, and problem-solve directly alongside the team when needed
- Strong technical background with expertise in modern backend development (e.g., Python - fastAPI, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes) and frontend development (Javascript - React) to build broad, event-driven platforms
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate strongly with cross-functional teams and effectively present technical concepts to leadership
- A passion for healthcare innovation and making a meaningful impact on patient care
- Experience managing and scaling teams of 8+ engineers, ideally with sub-team leads or tech leads reporting to you
