About Faire
Faire is a technology wholesale platform built on the belief that the future is local. Independent retailers around the globe collectively represent a multi-hundred-billion-dollar wholesale market that has historically been fragmented and offline. At Faire, we're using the power of tech, data, and machine learning to connect this thriving community of entrepreneurs across the globe. Picture your favorite boutique in town — we help them discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so businesses can grow and local communities can thrive.
We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.
About this role:
Faire is looking for an on-site IT Support Technician to join our IT team in Waterloo. Most of your day will be spent helping employees by working through the ticket queue, helping unblock employees when they run into technical issues, and supporting internal events — all with clear communication, solid troubleshooting, and reliable follow-through.
Beyond the daily support work, we’re looking for someone who can take on small projects and unclear tasks without needing step-by-step direction. You should be comfortable identifying improvements, finding ways to reduce repetitive work, and handling one-off technical issues. This role includes both regular in-person support and opportunities to improve how our team works.
This role requires full-time presence in our Kitchener-Waterloo office five days per week.
What you’ll do:
Daily Support
Work in the Jira ticket queue throughout the day, handling tickets with strong communication and ownership
Support employees with MacOS, SaaS tools, account access, and general troubleshooting
Troubleshoot issues with devices, the network, Zoom rooms, etc., partnering with IT Engineering to implement solutions
Communicate clearly with employees through Slack, Zoom, Jira, and in person
Event Support
Support internal events such as Makers Faire, including planning, setup, equipment testing, and day-of assistance
Make sure event spaces, A/V setups, and demo stations are working properly
Project & Improvement Work
Take on ambiguous tasks and work independently to deliver high-quality results
Look for ways to simplify, improve, or automate repetitive support tasks
Update and create documentation in Notion to make processes clearer for the team
Help solve unexpected or unusual technical problems and become someone the team can rely on in those moments
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in an IT Support, Help Desk, or deskside role
Experience supporting MacOS, SaaS applications, and basic A/V setups
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to solve issues independently
Comfortable using tools such as Jira, Slack, Zoom, Notion, and FleetDM
Clear written and verbal communication
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks at once
Comfortable working in the office and handling hands-on support needs
Self-starter who can take initiative and run with tasks
Interest in automation or improving workflows
Experience assisting with company events
Curiosity about new tools and ways to make IT support more efficient
Must be able to travel internationally, 1 to 2 times per year.
Salary Range:
Canada: the pay range for this role is $30.30 to $41.85 per hour.
This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

With the right tools and insights, we believe that we can level the playing field so businesses can grow and local communities can thrive.
We’re looking for smart, resourceful and passionate people to join us as we power the shop local movement. If you believe in community, come join ours.
About the role:
As a Senior Enterprise Security Engineer, you will help protect Faire's corporate environment across endpoint, network, identity, and SaaS, and play a key role in how we govern the safe use of AI across the company. You will apply secure-by-default standards, champion zero trust, and turn strategy into practical controls, automation, and guidance that teams adopt. Working across leadership pillars, you will help shape our AI governance approach and own much of how it gets put into practice. This is a role for someone who is strong hands-on and ready to grow their scope and influence across IT, Engineering, Legal, People, Finance, and Product.
What You’ll Do:
Help shape and operate Faire's AI governance program: acceptable-use standards, data protection for AI tools, vendor and model risk review, and safe patterns for AI-assisted work (including agent and MCP-based integrations).
Partner with IT teams to harden endpoint management, corporate infrastructure, identity services, and networking.
Design and implement controls that protect company information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
Support and help run our endpoint detection and response platform, email security stack, and phishing simulation and awareness programs.
Build the guardrails and enablement that let teams experiment with AI quickly without creating new exposure, partnering with Engineering rather than duplicating their work.
Advise employees on securing endpoints, office AV, and network gear, and publish clear runbooks.
Build and deliver training that grows a culture of security, accountability, and practical awareness.
Track emerging threats, including AI-specific risks, and make recommendations to improve our posture.
What It Takes:
5+ years in enterprise security with hands-on experience.
Practical experience in at least two of these areas: endpoint security, network security, data security, security operations, threat management, AI governance and security.
Exposure to enterprise AI governance and security (e.g. AI platform management, AI tool or MCP security review, prompt guardrailing), with the interest and ability to grow into owning more of it.
Experience writing policies and processes and supporting audits for frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOX, and SOC 2 Type II.
Strong written and verbal communication.
Analytical, outcomes-driven mindset with a bias for action.
Ability to influence others through empathy and relationship-building.
A passion for programming and solving problems with code (Python, Ruby, or Go).
Salary Range:
San Francisco: the pay range for this role is $174,500 - $240,000 per year.
This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

About this role:
Our Brand engineering team owns the code that our Brands use to manage their business on Faire. This includes managing product listings, fulfilling orders, and communicating with retailers. This role is for the brand platform sub-team and focuses on laying a strong foundation for customer-facing teams to build on.
We care about good engineering practices and love to write software that is secure, tested, easy to maintain, and scalable to millions of users. We build minimum viable products, deploy to production multiple times per day, A/B test customer-facing changes, listen to the data, and iterate.

What You Will Do
Define and drive the long-term architecture of Faire’s ML platform including training, inference, feature management, governance
Establish company-wide standards for code quality, testing, MLOps (CI/CD), experimentation, model lifecycle management, and observability
Lead adoption and advanced use of Unity Catalog, multi-workspace strategies, and data/ML mesh patterns
Architect highly scalable ML workflows using Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow
Optimize performance, reliability, and cost of the ML platform
Evaluate and integrate emerging Databricks features
Stay ahead of the curve by engaging with the latest developments in machine learning and AI
Serve as senior ML technical advisor to Faire’s data science and production engineering teams
Represent Faire at ML conferences and meetups
Mentor ML engineers and raise the overall bar for Machine Learning at Faire
What it takes
10-12 years of experience building and improving large-scale ML or data platforms.
A degree (preferably graduate level) in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field.
Deep expertise in Databricks lakehouse architecture, including governance via Unity catalog, orchestration via Workflows, and cost optimization
Proven ability to design systems that support multiple data science teams and production workloads
