Job Summary
As an Electrical Engineer at Lynk, you will function in many roles to use and expand your knowledge of electronics and PCB design. You will be given ownership of your project through the complete hardware development cycle. Along the way you will be responsible for circuit design, schematic capture, and layout of complex PCBAs. These boards often contain some combination of high-speed digital signals, high power DC-DC converters, and analog circuitry. You will also be collaborating with RF engineers in the design of boards containing RF circuitry.
We are a small team, and emphasize rapid iteration as part of our hardware development lifecycle. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an interdisciplinary team, engaging in system-level design discussions, and taking ownership of individual subsystems as an individual contributor. Candidates should also have experience or interest across a wide breadth of electronics disciplines, and should be comfortable working in both a design and laboratory environment, and have experience designing systems intended for harsh environments.
Experience with satellites is not a requirement for this position. We welcome candidates across experience levels, from exceptional early career to seasoned engineers; title, scope, and compensation scale with experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Designing multilayer PCBAs, incorporating EMI/EMC best practices and considering deployment in harsh environments (thermal cycles, mechanical shock, vibration, etc.).
- Ownership over the complete lifecycle PCB multi-layer design from schematic capture and layout through board bring-up and test
- Develop and analyze complex power trees.
- Collaborate closely with RTL and software teams to define pinouts, bank voltages, and clocking architectures that optimize PCB routing.

Basic Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- Strong grasp of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) in low-to-medium volume, high-complexity production.
- Experience with multilayer PCB schematic capture and layout, as well as board bring-up and testing
- Experience designing systems for harsh environments (space, aviation, automotive, etc.)
- Experience with common low speed digital interfaces (I2C, CAN, UART, etc.)
- Experience with EMI/EMC best practices
- Basic experience writing FPGA RTL or microcontroller firmware
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of FPGA and SoC hardware requirements, including power distribution, high-speed SERDES routing (PCIe, multi-gigabit ethernet, etc.), memory interfaces, etc.

JOB SUMMARY
The Network System Administrator will administer and maintain the reliability of Lynk's corporate network and core infrastructure — connecting Chevy Chase, MD and Chantilly, VA and supporting a globally distributed, mission-critical operation. This role is responsible for network administration, server and systems infrastructure, and the security/compliance posture of Lynk's infrastructure stack, including maintaining endpoint compliance in support of Lynk's CMMC Level 2 requirements. The role also serves as an escalation point for basic end-user IT support. This position is based in our Chevy Chase, MD office and will require some travel to our Chantilly, VA office as needed (Hybrid: 2–3 days onsite per week).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configure, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, and firewall infrastructure across Lynk office and lab locations
- Administer network segmentation, routing, and VLANs, and support capacity planning as the company scales
- Administer and harden core infrastructure: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Conditional Access, DNS/DHCP, Office 365, and endpoint security (ESET, Microsoft Defender) at the systems-administration level
- Manage endpoint and device compliance through Microsoft Intune and MDM platforms (e.g., NinjaOne), including policy design, patch management, and fleet-wide enforcement
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain security posture via Microsoft Defender (Endpoint/365) — threat detection, alerting, and remediation
- Manage server infrastructure (physical and virtual), including provisioning, patching, backup, and lifecycle management
- Monitor network and infrastructure health; lead incident response and root-cause analysis for outages and performance issues
- Implement and maintain infrastructure security controls (firewalls, VPN, MFA, network segmentation, endpoint protection) in line with ITAR and export-control obligations
- Support Lynk's CMMC Level 2 compliance program — maintain endpoint compliance (patching, configuration baselines, encryption, access control) across the device fleet and evidence controls for audits
- Monitor and remediate endpoint compliance drift via Intune/NinjaOne and Microsoft Defender to keep the environment aligned with NIST SP 800-171 control requirements
- Partner with security/compliance stakeholders on System Security Plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and audit readiness for CMMC assessments
- Document network topology, infrastructure configuration, and disaster recovery/business continuity procedures
BASIC END-USER IT SUPPORT
- Serve as a secondary/escalation point of contact for basic end-user technical issues (hardware, software, connectivity, account access)
- Provision and configure end-user hardware (laptops, peripherals) in line with security and compliance baselines
- Troubleshoot common Windows/macOS and Office 365 issues for staff as needed
- Support onboarding/offboarding from an infrastructure and access-management perspective (accounts, device enrollment, permissions)
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience in network engineering, systems administration, or infrastructure management
- Hands-on experience administering and maintaining LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall, and wireless network infrastructure
- Strong Windows Server and macOS environment administration experience

Job Summary
As a Propulsion Test Engineer at Lynk, you will support the testing of the Hall Effect Thrusters (HET) and other propulsion system components used on our satellites. Job Summary
Lynk is searching for a Manufacturing Engineer to support the manufacturing of satellites for our constellation. This role focuses on developing work instructions, defining process flows, and building test fixtures (jigs) to enable efficient and repeatable production. Job Summary
The Flight Software Engineer at Lynk will be developing flight software applications for commanding and controlling our satellites. This includes developing our satellite command and data handling system software, in addition to supporting software for both its primary (payload) and secondary radio communications functions. The software will initially be tested on the satellite prototype in a lab environment "flatsat" that simulates orbit operations. You will also be responsible for building the telemetry and instrumentation needed to capture data during tests and ensure successful verification and validation.

You will contribute to the design, development, and testing of spacecraft flight software systems, including those that implement our spacecraft Command and Data Handling; Power; Communications; and Guidance, Navigation, and Control Systems. This includes:
- Contributing to the design of software solutions critical to the operation of our spacecraft, and developing these as Linux applications that run on satellite flight systems.

Job Summary
As a Mechanical Engineer at Lynk, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, build, and enhancement of the mechanical systems associated with our satellite communications payloads, satellites, testbeds, testing equipment, etc. Previous satellite design experience is required to be considered for this role. Some work products will include mechanical models of space and ground systems in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, and thermal analysis, structural analysis, vibration analysis, and finite element analysis to support critical system trades. In addition to design, you will also be responsible for integration and testing support of critical hardware systems such as satellite mechanical, structural, and electrical subsystems. While mechanically focused, your role will involve working closely with the Electrical, RF, Software, and Systems teams at the company.

JOB SUMMARY
Lynk is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join the Mission Operations team, focused on the ground segment of our satellite constellation. You will design, build, and ship the backend services, APIs, and automation that connect Lynk's global ground station network to our Mission Operations Software — the platform our operators use to command, monitor, and fly the constellation every day.
This is first and foremost a software development role. Our Mission Operations Software is a growing platform of Python microservices (FastAPI) with web dashboards (React and Vue), event-driven messaging (MQTT), and hybrid AWS/on-prem infrastructure managed as code. You will own services end to end: designing APIs and data models, writing well-tested code, reviewing your teammates' merge requests, running CI/CD pipelines, and operating what you ship. You will also help build the next generation of this platform as we move toward a cloud-native, event-driven architecture on AWS.
Because the software commands real satellites through real RF ground stations, the role also touches Linux systems, networking, and ground station hardware interfaces. You don't need to be an RF engineer, but you should enjoy writing software whose bugs and successes show up in the physical world, and working closely with the flight software, telecom, and ground site engineers who live there.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT (THE MAJORITY OF YOUR TIME)
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services that schedule satellite contacts, prepare and transmit spacecraft commands, ingest and process telemetry, and manage ground station configuration.
- Build and evolve REST APIs and event-driven integrations (MQTT, message queues) between ground stations, network services, and Mission Operations tools.
- Write production-quality Python; contribute to shared libraries, service patterns, and developer tooling used across the Mission Operations codebase.
- Contribute to web dashboards and operator-facing tools (React/Vue) that visualize telemetry, contact schedules, and system health.
- Participate fully in the team's engineering practices: merge request reviews, automated testing, GitLab CI/CD, architecture decision records, and AI-augmented development workflows.
NEXT-GENERATION ARCHITECTURE
- Help design and implement Lynk's next-generation, cloud-native Mission Operations platform on AWS — event-driven services, managed API gateways and identity (Amazon API Gateway, Cognito), serverless and container workloads, and first-class observability.
- Migrate existing services incrementally from today's hybrid environment without disrupting live constellation operations.
GROUND STATION INTEGRATION & OPERATIONS
- Develop the software interfaces that integrate new and upgraded ground stations — network equipment, modems, RF systems — into the operational environment.
- Automate ground station deployment, configuration, monitoring, and recovery using infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Improve observability across the ground segment: telemetry pipelines, dashboards, alerting, logging, and metrics.
- Troubleshoot issues that span software, networks, and hardware interfaces; provide occasional on-call support for mission-critical operations.
DURING YOUR FIRST 12 MONTHS
- Ship early: Land your first merge requests into production Mission Operations services within your first weeks, and take ownership of one or more backend services within your first few months.
- Learn the domain: Build a working understanding of Lynk's ground segment — contact scheduling, command and telemetry flows, ground station architecture — deep enough to design features independently.
- Raise the engineering bar: Deliver measurable improvements in test coverage, deployment repeatability, and observability for the services you own.
- Shape the next generation: Contribute design and code to the cloud-native Mission Operations architecture, starting with early pilot services.
- Become a trusted responder: Serve as a reliable technical point of contact for ground station software troubleshooting and anomaly investigation.
TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT
- Languages: Python, Rust and TypeScript in parts of the stack
- Backend: FastAPI microservices, MQTT and event-driven messaging, REST APIs, PostgreSQL
- Frontend: React and Vue dashboards
- Infrastructure & Deployment: AWS (moving toward API Gateway, Cognito, Lambda, and managed services), Proxmox/on-prem environments, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, GitLab CI/CD
- Practices: Merge-request-driven development with mandatory review, automated testing, infrastructure as code, log-based diagnostics, AI-augmented development workflows, Linux-centric development for high-availability systems
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience developing production software — services, APIs, or applications, not primarily scripts — preferably in Python.
- Experience owning a service or system in production: designing it, shipping it, operating it, and debugging it when it breaks.
- Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and working with relational databases.
- Experience with modern development practices: version control workflows, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Strong working knowledge of Linux environments.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls) sufficient to build and debug networked services.
- Ability to troubleshoot systems that span software, networks, and hardware interfaces.
- Strong documentation habits, including architecture documentation and technical decision records.
- Interest in satellite operations, ground systems, mission operations, telecommunications, or space systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience building event-driven or message-based distributed systems (MQTT, Kafka, SQS/SNS, or similar).
- Experience with AWS services and cloud-native architecture (API Gateway, Cognito, Lambda, ECS/EKS, CloudWatch).
- Experience with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks; frontend experience with React or Vue.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) and hybrid cloud/on-prem environments.
- Experience with observability tooling (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, ELK/OpenSearch).
- Experience with Rust.
- Experience with satellite ground systems, mission operations software, RF ground equipment, or telemetry systems.
- Experience supporting high-availability operational systems, or working in a startup, satellite/telecom operator, or mission operations environment.
