Job Description & Responsibilities:
We are looking for ASIC Design Verification Engineers with strong CPU, ASIC design and verification fundamentals to work in Neuralink’s System-on-Chip (SoC) department under the Implant Team. This position offers a rare and unique opportunity to have a high impact in realizing state-of-the-art brain-computer interfaces. The team delivers architecture and logic implementation of digital modules with a strong focus in high-throughput low-power digital signal processing (DSP) . We have crafted a team of exceptional engineers whose mission is to push the frontiers of what is possible today and define the future.
Key qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in digital ASIC verification.
Excellence in SystemVerilog.
Experience in developing automation flow and scripts such as Python, Perl, Makefile, Tcl and UNIX shell
Experience with code coverage and regression setup.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience working on complex digital systems from architecture, microarchitecture, RTL, verification and physical design using industry standard tools.
Experience on building test benches, testing, and debugging for a complex system-on-chip.
Experience in formal verification.
Functional modeling experience and logic verification with SystemVerilog, SystemC/C++.
Experience with IEEE-1801 (UPF) based design simulation flows
Experience with low power gate level simulations
Exposure with low power formal verification flows
Strong hands-on experience in verification methodologies such as UVM
Knowledge of ARM/RISC-V processor, AMBA bus
Knowledge of power aware verification
Experience with FPGA/emulation
Experience with lab system bring up, writing diagnostic, and lab debugging
Expected Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees’ success with the company's long-term growth. As such, in addition to base salary, Neuralink offers equity compensation (in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSU)) for all full-time employees.
Base Salary Range:
$131,000 - $243,000 USD

Team Description:
The Surgery & Robotics Hardware Team is looking for Electrical Engineers who want to advance the future of healthcare solutions with technology. At Neuralink we recognize that increasing healthcare costs, lack of access, and insufficient numbers of neurosurgeons globally require new approaches to enable greater access to our devices. To address these challenges we design fully autonomous robotics systems, human assistive surgical tools, and design entire surgical suites in order to provide better experiences for our customers.
Our team works on our surgical robot system which aims to fully automate the implantation of the Neuralink implant. We design and integrate multi-axis robotic arms, perception systems including custom imaging hardware, optical coherence tomography tissue imaging, power electronics, and safety systems such as 3D spatial mapping/object avoidance sensors. Robotics is part of a larger system of tools we work on. For example, using pre-op MRI scans we generate patient anatomy data that we later use in surgery to register precise surgery site locations.
In addition to research and development of modern surgical technology, we also are responsible for bringing these technologies to market. We perform full lifecycle testing for all devices we design and ultimately manufacture them for use in human surgeries. To date, our designs have served over 20 individuals, and in the coming years our designs will serve thousands of individuals who wish to use our implant technology.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
As an Electrical Engineer on the Surgery & Robot Hardware Team, you will be expected to design, verify, and oversee the transition to production of a variety of custom electronics systems. This role offers substantial autonomy and the exciting opportunity to own creative decisions and execute on new, impactful projects such as robotics stage designs, motor drives and controls, custom camera designs, manufacturing automation, and the firmware that enables all of these devices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
Professional experience delivering on all phases of electronics design (requirements, part selection, schematic, layout, manufacturing, test)
Demonstrated depth in at least one of the following:
Power electronics: experience designing custom power conversion, distribution, eFusing, and battery management systems in the low-to-medium (1W-2kW) range
FPGA hardware design for time sensitive systems such as image processing, high-speed data acquisition, or real time networking. Professional experience in FPGA selection, RTL development, digital signal processing theory and techniques, and hardware design to interface high speed physical layer devices via PCIe, MIPI, SLVS-ec, LVDS, etc
Test automation design: professional experience architecting and implementing manufacturing automation solutions for products that currently ship at the scale of 1000’s+
Practical electronics design knowledge including designing for EMC, ESD, thermals and packaging
Preferred Qualifications:
A portfolio showcasing your hardware designs
Demonstrable experience developing electronics for safety critical systems such as medical devices, aerospace, automotive, or military
Demonstrable experience shipping code in one of the following languages: C, C++, Python, or Rust
Altium experience
Expected Compensation:
The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Team Description:
The Next Gen team at Neuralink is developing the next generation of brain-computer interfaces. We are laying the groundwork for intuitive, high-dimensional, and bidirectional interfaces between brains and machines, with the goal of helping people challenged by a variety of neurological disorders and conditions. Our team consists of scientists and engineers, working closely together to define the engineering requirements for these future products.

Job Description and Responsibilities:
As an R&D Materials Engineer intern, you'll interact with technical teams across the company to develop new ideas, materials, and processes that drive our next generation of implants forward. You'll work closely with scientists and engineers to explore innovative concepts, perform rigorous benchtop testing, troubleshoot experimental setups, and analyze results. Successful candidates will be highly adaptable, able to deploy their core technical and creative skills to tackle a wide range of problems, and have a keen sense of urgency. You must thrive in an intense, mission-driven, and collaborative environment. Additionally, you will:
Contribute to the development of next-generation microelectrode materials, partnering with the microfabrication team to bring concepts from idea to hardware
Develop novel solutions for electrode-tissue interfaces to enhance electrode sensitivity and interface longevity
Perform materials characterization and surface chemistry experiments on candidate materials and implant components
Design and fabricate custom test fixtures to enable new experiments
Execute on established protocols and independently design new experiments as the project demands
Troubleshoot, iterate, and communicate findings clearly to the team
Required Qualifications:
Evidence of exceptional ability in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field
2+ years of academic or industry experience
Strong understanding of the scientific method and engineering first principles
Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
Experience with chemical handling and safe lab practices
Outstanding communication skills; thrives in an interdisciplinary environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software
Familiarity and experience with surface characterization techniques (e.g., contact angle, FTIR, XPS, AFM)
Experience with microscopy
Experience with electrochemistry

Job Description and Responsibilities:
As a Field Clinical Engineer, you will be on the front lines of Neuralink’s clinical programs, working directly with participants, clinicians, and internal teams to translate cutting-edge neurotechnology into meaningful functional outcomes. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in PM&R, occupational therapy, or physical therapy who also have experience in medical devices and thrive in dynamic clinical environments.
You will play a critical role in bridging clinical care, engineering, and research by supporting device use, optimizing participant performance, and ensuring high-quality data collection in both clinical and home settings.
This role requires someone who is hands-on, clinically grounded, technically curious, and able to adapt quickly. You should be comfortable working with participants with significant neurological impairments and motivated by improving independence and quality of life.
In this role, you will:
Work directly with study participants to support device use, training, and optimization during clinical sessions and at home
Apply principles of rehabilitation (PM&R, OT, PT) to maximize participant outcomes and functional performance with the system
Collaborate closely with surgeons, investigators, and site staff to ensure seamless clinical execution across all phases of the study
Serve as the primary interface between participants and the technology, troubleshooting issues in real time and escalating when needed
Support surgical and post-operative workflows, including intraoperative and early post-implant sessions where applicable
Ensure high-quality, protocol-compliant data collection by aligning participant activities with study endpoints and data capture requirements
Partner with clinical, engineering, and data teams to translate real-world use into actionable insights for product and algorithm development
Identify trends in participant performance, usability challenges, and safety signals, and communicate clearly to cross-functional teams
Contribute to development and refinement of training protocols, user workflows, and clinical best practices
Support site onboarding, training, and ongoing engagement to ensure consistency and scalability across clinical sites
Assist in preparation for regulatory inspections and ensure activities are conducted in compliance with GCP, protocol requirements, and internal procedures
Travel to clinical sites as needed to support study execution and participant care
The ideal candidate:
Has a clinical background in PM&R, occupational therapy, or physical therapy, with hands-on experience working with neurological populations (e.g., SCI, ALS, stroke)
Has experience working with medical devices in a clinical or field-based role
Is highly adaptable, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Is technically curious and able to engage with engineers to troubleshoot and improve system performance
Communicates clearly and builds trust with participants, clinicians, and cross-functional teams
Is detail-oriented and understands the importance of protocol adherence and data integrity in clinical research
Required Qualifications:
Clinical training and hands-on experience in PM&R, occupational therapy, or physical therapy, with a focus on neurological populations (e.g., SCI, ALS, stroke)
3+ years of experience in a clinical, field-based, or medical device–adjacent role (rehab, neuromodulation, assistive technology, or similar)
Demonstrated experience working directly with patients and clinicians in dynamic care environments
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot clinical and technical issues in real time
Ability to interpret participant performance, functional outcomes, and device behavior to inform next steps
Comfort working with technology, including basic data review and interaction with software-driven systems (no need to be a coder, but not afraid of one either)
Working knowledge of clinical research principles, including protocol adherence, endpoint-driven activities, and data quality expectations
Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and general clinical study conduct
Ability to collaborate effectively across clinical, engineering, and operations teams
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both participants and highly technical teams
High attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple participants, sites, and priorities simultaneously
Willingness to travel frequently to support clinical sites and participants
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree or formal training in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field, with exposure to neurotechnology or implantable systems
Experience working with neuromodulation, brain-computer interfaces, or other neurorehabilitation technologies
Prior experience in a clinical field engineer, clinical specialist, or applications role within a medical device company
Experience supporting surgical procedures, intraoperative environments, or early post-implant programming and troubleshooting
Familiarity with signal-based systems (e.g., neural data, EMG, EEG) and comfort interpreting system performance in real time
Exposure to rehabilitation technology integration, including assistive devices, digital interfaces, or adaptive control systems
Experience supporting multi-site clinical studies or working directly with investigators and study coordinators
Comfort working with data systems (e.g., EDC platforms, basic data visualization tools) to review participant performance and study metrics
Understanding of usability, human factors, and patient-centered design principles
Prior involvement in training clinicians or participants on device use and workflows
Experience working in early-stage or rapidly evolving clinical programs where processes are still being defined

The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. About the Team
Supply Chain owns the external manufacturing network that builds and delivers every component going into the Implant and the Robot. The Supplier Industrialization Engineering (SIE) function partners with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Strategic Sourcing to take parts from prototype through volume production at our external partners — ensuring suppliers can deliver to Neuralink’s technical, cost, schedule, and regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
About the Role
As a Supplier Industrialization Engineer, you will own component industrialization at our external suppliers across the full breadth of what goes into the Implant and the Robot. This is explicitly a generalist role: rather than specializing in a single commodity, you will move across machined parts, molded plastics, electromechanical assemblies, PCBAs, optics, hermetic packaging, coatings, and biocompatible materials — going wherever the program needs the most engineering horsepower. You will lead parts from supplier selection and process qualification, through NPI builds, ramp, and into sustaining production, working hands-on at supplier sites to ensure manufacturing processes are capable, controlled, and audit-ready. Because Neuralink’s products are implanted in patients, the bar for supplier quality, traceability, and process discipline is exceptionally high — your work directly enables us to put more devices into more patients, safely.
We expect this person to be biased toward learning new manufacturing domains rapidly, to be comfortable owning parts they have not personally built before, and to bring strong first-principles engineering judgment to every supplier conversation.
We are hiring across multiple levels. Early-career engineers will own a focused portfolio of parts with strong mentorship; senior and staff engineers will own multi-commodity strategy across programs, lead the toughest supplier recoveries, and set the technical bar for the function.
What You'll Do
Industrialization & NPI
Own industrialization end-to-end for a portfolio of parts spanning mechanical, electromechanical, electronic, optical, and materials commodities going into the Implant and the Robot.
Drive supplier readiness for NPI builds, design changes, and ramp-to-volume — including capacity planning, fixture and tooling design, and line build-outs.
Design & Manufacturing Engineering
Partner with Design Engineering on DFM/DFA/DFT reviews early in the development cycle to drive manufacturability, yield, cost, and reliability into the design.
Translate design intent (drawings, GD&T, specifications) into supplier-actionable manufacturing requirements, control plans, and inspection plans.
Process Qualification & Quality
Qualify supplier manufacturing processes through PPAP/APQP, FAI, capability studies (Cp/Cpk), gage R&R, and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ where applicable); ensure first-time-right launches.
Partner with Quality Engineering to ensure our suppliers meet ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 820 expectations — with appropriate change control, traceability, and validation documentation.
Supplier Performance & Corrective Action
Lead containment, root cause, and corrective action (8D, RCCA) for non-conforming material; close issues quickly while raising the underlying process bar so they do not recur.
Build supplier scorecards and apply SPC, Lean, and continuous-improvement methods to improve yield, cycle time, cost, and on-time delivery across the supply base.
Cross-functional Partnership & Site Presence
Travel to suppliers (domestic and international) to lead on-site audits, process walks, line qualifications, and corrective-action verification.
Partner with Strategic Sourcing on supplier selection, dual-source strategy, and should-cost/piece-price negotiation; provide the technical voice in supplier business reviews.
Required Qualifications
Background & Education
B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Materials, Chemical, Biomedical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline — or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates the same technical depth.
Generalist mindset: a demonstrated track record of moving between multiple manufacturing domains and learning new processes quickly, rather than specializing in a single commodity. You should be able to point to at least two distinct process areas in which you have personally driven engineering outcomes.
Working familiarity with multiple major manufacturing process domains, such as: precision CNC machining, injection or micro-molding, sheet metal and stamping, PCBA and electronics assembly, additive manufacturing, coatings and plating, optics, hermetic packaging, laser or micro-welding, EDM, or cleanroom assembly.
Engineering & Metrology
Demonstrated ability to read complex engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 — including reading datum schemes, selecting appropriate tolerance callouts, and understanding the manufacturing implications of a given drawing.
Strong working knowledge of metrology and inspection: CMM, optical comparators, vision systems, surface profilometry, leak/hermeticity testing, electrical test, and the tradeoffs between in-process, end-of-line, and incoming inspection strategies.
Proficiency with common engineering and data tools (e.g., SolidWorks or equivalent CAD for reading models, Minitab or Python/R for data analysis, ERP/PLM systems, JIRA or equivalent for tracking work).
Supplier Quality & Process
Working knowledge of the core supplier-quality toolkit: PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, control plans, First Article Inspection (FAI/AS9102), Measurement System Analysis (MSA, gage R&R), process capability studies (Cp/Cpk/Ppk), and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Hands-on experience leading structured root-cause and corrective-action work (8D, RCCA, fishbone, 5-Whys, fault-tree) on real production issues — from containment through verified, closed-loop fix.
Familiarity with at least one Quality Management System framework (ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820, AS9100, IATF 16949, or ISO 9001) and the discipline required to operate inside it — change control, document control, deviations, and traceability.
Execution & Communication
Project-management chops: able to drive a parallel portfolio of supplier deliverables to aggressive dates, sequence dependencies, escalate cleanly, and communicate status to stakeholders without being chased.
Solid commercial instincts: comfortable reading a should-cost breakdown, participating in piece-price and tooling negotiations alongside Strategic Sourcing, and pushing back technically when a quote does not match the process or volume.
Strong written and verbal communication. You can run a productive technical meeting with a supplier engineering team one hour, then write a crisp summary of risk and recommended actions for Neuralink leadership the next.
Comfortable in a hands-on, fast-moving, ambiguity-tolerant environment where you are expected to own outcomes, not just tasks — and to make sound decisions with incomplete information.
Logistics
Willingness to travel up to 25–50% to supplier sites, including international travel; valid passport (or ability to obtain one) is required.
Must be able to physically work on supplier production floors, including standing for extended periods, gowning into cleanrooms, and handling small precision parts.
Must be able to work on-site in South San Francisco, CA or Austin, TX.
Preferred Qualifications
Regulated & Complex Hardware Experience
Experience industrializing parts at external suppliers in a regulated environment: medical device (ISO 13485/21 CFR Part 820), aerospace (AS9100), automotive (IATF 16949), or semiconductor.
Launch experience with Class II or III medical devices, implantable electronics, micro-fabrication, or biocompatible materials.
Experience taking parts from high-mix/low-volume clinical builds into higher-volume commercial production.
Technical Depth
Direct hands-on experience with PPAP, APQP, FAI, PFMEA, control plans, MSA, SPC, and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
Track record of leading 8D/RCCA on supplier quality escapes — from first containment through verified closure.
Familiarity with one or more of: micro-machining, micro-molding, thin-film processes, laser micro-welding, hermetic feedthroughs, flex circuits and HDI PCBs, BGA/flip-chip assembly, surgical instrument manufacturing, or precision motion systems.

The Surgery & Robotics Hardware Team is looking for Mechanical Engineers who want to advance the future of healthcare solutions with technology. At Neuralink we recognize that increasing healthcare costs, lack of access, and insufficient numbers of neurosurgeons globally require new approaches to enable greater access to our devices. To address these challenges we design fully autonomous robotics systems, human assistive surgical tools, and design entire surgical suites in order to provide better experiences for our customers.
Our team works on our surgical robot system which aims to fully automate the implantation of the Neuralink implant. We design and integrate multi-axis robotic arms, perception systems including custom imaging hardware, optical coherence tomography tissue imaging, power electronics, and safety systems such as 3D spatial mapping/object avoidance sensors. Robotics is part of a larger system of tools we work on. For example, using pre-op MRI scans we generate patient anatomy data that we later use in surgery to register precise surgery site locations.
In addition to research and development of modern surgical technology, we also are responsible for bringing these technologies to market. We perform full lifecycle testing for all devices we design and ultimately manufacture them for use in human surgeries. To date, our designs have served over 20 individuals, and in the coming years our designs will serve thousands of individuals who wish to use our implant technology.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Engineer on the Robot Hardware Team, you will design and scale complex mechanical assemblies. You will utilize creative design and out-of-the-box thinking while navigating requirements pertaining to extremely high precision, sterility, biocompatibility, manufacturability and more. You will work closely with Neurosurgeons, OR staff, manufacturing teams, suppliers, and other engineers to deliver a critical part of a system poised to change the lives of many. Among other things, your responsibilities will include:
Designing, developing, validating, and shipping complex mechanical assemblies and actuators for surgical robots
Rapidly and effectively building systems to meet project goals
Applying analytical methods, including calculations and simulations, for the design and optimization of actuators and structures.
Conducting FMEAs, user testing, and more to make the safest product possible
Working with QA and Test teams to define release criteria, verification and validation tests, and more
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering industry experience, including internships and project teams where you owned products from concept to production
Strong understanding of engineering first principles
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, or equivalent experience and ability
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing space-constrained multi-DoF actuated devices
Experience designing with sensing devices (optical, strain, RFID, etc)
Experience scaling designs from low to mid volume production
Proficiency with conventional machining and rapid prototyping technologies

As an Electrical Engineer on the Surgery & Robot Hardware Team, you will be expected to design, verify, and oversee the transition to production of a variety of custom electronics systems with a primary emphasis on FPGA-based hardware and real-time processing. This role offers substantial autonomy and the exciting opportunity to own creative decisions and execute on new, impactful projects such as high-speed image processing pipelines, real-time motor control, custom camera designs, robotics stage sensor integration, manufacturing automation, and the firmware that enables all of these devices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
Professional experience delivering on all phases of electronics design (requirements, part selection, schematic, layout, manufacturing, test)
Strong demonstrated depth in FPGA Hardware Design: Experience designing FPGA-based systems for time-sensitive and high-performance applications such as image processing, high-speed data acquisition, real-time networking, and control systems. This includes:
FPGA device selection and architecture definition
RTL development (Verilog / SystemVerilog)
Digital signal processing theory and implementation

The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the following range. Your actual base pay will be determined by your job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. We also believe in aligning our employees’ success with the company's long-term growth. As such, in addition to base salary, Neuralink offers equity compensation (in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSU)) for all full-time employees.

$105,000 - $175,500 USD

The Infrastructure Team builds the foundation that enables the company to operate safely, robustly, and move at light-speed. We run a mixture of cloud-based and on-prem systems and have a user base spanning from highly technically proficient engineers to non-technical scientists and doctors; but all of them need solid systems, rugged networking, and bullet-proof software to do their jobs.
Job Responsibilities and Description:
As a Software Engineer, CICD you will integrate tightly with teams across the company, and span all layers of the work environment stack, from deployment of physical hardware on the manufacturing line, to custom tooling to stream neural recordings from implants. You will:
Design and scale the CI/CD platform that enables engineering teams to ship safely and quickly across verticals including, but not limited to, Brain Implant, Surgical Robot, BCI App, Clinical, Full-stack services and infrastructure
Own the software/firmware build tooling at scale. This includes remote caching, remote execution, target identification and selection, etc.
Operate and scale a runner fleet spanning on-prem and cloud clusters, cover multiple hardware platforms including Mac, Linux, Embedded devices and Hardware-in-the-loop fixtures
Maintain reproducible build and CI environments with Nix
Instrument CI health with Prometheus metrics, Grafana dashboards, and automated alerting to maintain high signal-to-noise on pipeline reliability
Reduce developer cycle time through pre-commit tooling, caching strategies, test sharding, and build graph optimization
