Phantom is used by millions of people to access crypto applications and financial services. We’re looking for a Release Management Engineer to own and continuously improve the release process for our iOS and Android applications.

You will work closely with engineering, QA, product, and support teams to make releases predictable, efficient, and safe. This is a hands-on role for someone who understands mobile build and deployment systems and enjoys coordinating complex releases across teams.

This role is remote; however, we’re only open to candidates working in US time zones.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end release process for Phantom’s iOS and Android applications.

• Manage release schedules, release branches, versioning, build promotion, and app store submissions.

• Coordinate release readiness across engineering, QA, product, and other stakeholders.

• Lead go/no-go decisions and ensure risks, blockers, and outstanding issues are clearly communicated.

• Manage TestFlight, App Store Connect, Google Play Console, and staged or phased rollouts.

• Coordinate hotfixes, emergency releases, and release rollback plans when needed.

• Monitor release health, including crashes, regressions, rollout status, and user-impacting issues.

• Troubleshoot build, signing, submission, and deployment failures.

• Improve and automate repetitive release tasks using tools such as GitHub Actions, Fastlane, Bash, or Python.

• Maintain clear release documentation, checklists, runbooks, and status reporting.

• Ensure releases comply with Apple and Google policies and submission requirements.

• Partner with engineering teams to improve the reliability and reproducibility of mobile builds.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in release engineering, mobile DevOps, build engineering, or a similar role.

• Hands-on experience releasing production iOS and Android applications.

• Strong knowledge of App Store Connect, TestFlight, Google Play Console, mobile signing, provisioning, and certificates.

• Experience working with mobile CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions, Bitrise, CircleCI, Buildkite, or similar tools.

• Experience managing release branches, versioning, hotfixes, and staged rollouts.

• Ability to troubleshoot mobile build and deployment issues.

• Familiarity with scripting or automation

• Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

• Ability to remain calm and make clear decisions during time-sensitive releases or incidents.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React Native applications.

• Experience with Fastlane or other mobile release automation tools.

• Experience supporting a high-scale consumer mobile application.

• Familiarity with mobile QA, automated testing, crash monitoring, or release observability.

• Previous experience in crypto, fintech, web3, or another highly regulated or security-sensitive product area.

Role Description

Identity Platform is the trust root of Phantom: we own authentication, unlocking, onboarding/key generation, and the signing pipeline that every transaction flows through. This is a business-critical area where bugs can lock users out or put funds at risk. You'll ship TypeScript across browser, Node.js, and mobile runtimes (e.g., Hermes) to keep these foundations fast, secure, and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the signing path for every transaction in Phantom.

• Build and harden authentication, unlocking, biometrics, and account access flows across web and mobile.

• Ship passkeys (WebAuthn) and MFA improvements with a strong security/usability balance.

• Own onboarding and key lifecycle flows: key generation/derivation, seed phrase flows, seedless registration, hardware wallet pairing.

• Own sensitive key export/import experiences and related safety rails.

• Write and maintain high-signal, non-flaky tests (unit/integration/e2e) for critical paths; ensure safe rollouts via monitoring and staged releases.

Qualifications

Must-have

• 7+ years of experience

• Strong TypeScript skills; comfortable shipping code across browser, Node.js, and mobile JS runtimes.

• Proven ability to build high-signal, low-flake test suites for critical systems.

• Familiarity with auth concepts and common mechanisms (sessions/tokens, MFA/OTP, WebAuthn/passkeys)

• Strong engineering fundamentals: system design, debugging, and production reliability.

Nice-to-have

• Deeper experience with OAuth2/OIDC, WebAuthn internals, cryptography, or key management systems.

• Web3/wallet or signing-flow experience.

• Security- or money-adjacent experience (identity, payments, custody).

• Rust experience (or strong interest in learning it).
