Responsibilities
- Design and validate electrical circuits, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and interconnect systems for autonomous robotic platforms.
- Develop schematics, component selections, and electrical designs that meet product performance, reliability, and cost requirements.
- Support PCB layout reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturable and maintainable designs.
- Perform bring-up, validation, and characterization of new electrical hardware in partnership with firmware and software teams.
- Troubleshoot electrical and system-level issues and conduct structured root cause analysis to identify and resolve failures.
- Develop and execute test plans to verify electrical subsystem performance and reliability.
- Contribute to prototype development, hardware integration, and system testing activities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Partner with manufacturing teams, vendors, and suppliers to support builds, issue resolution, and design improvements.
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, test results, and design records to support product development and manufacturing.
- Provide occasional onsite support for prototype builds, manufacturing activities, and engineering validation efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in the design and test of electrical systems in the robotics, consumer electronics, or other applicable fields
- Hands-on experience in debugging and testing electrical subsystems using typical lab equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, spectrum analyzer, electronic load, etc.)
- Experience designing, integrating, and debugging embedded systems
- Experience in hardware prototype bring-up, debug, fault detection, and failure analysis
- Experience in one of the major ECAD tools (Altium preferred)
What Makes You Stand Out
- Experience with high speed circuits and signal integrity measurements
- Experience in debugging common interfaces (e.g. CAN, SPI, UART, I2C, USB)
- Experience developing software scripts (Python, Bash) for automating hardware tests
- Experience in testing for EMC/EMI compliance
- Familiarity with the Nvidia Jetson platform
- Experience with one or more sensor modalities (e.g. camera, LiDAR, radar, ultrasonic)
- Experience with cellular networking
- Experience with cable harness design
- Experience working with factory support and overseas vendor partnerships
- Experience in working with internal and external developers, test teams, lab technicians
Additional Information
This role may require occasional travel to support prototype builds, manufacturing activities, supplier engagement, and engineering validation efforts. Candidates should be comfortable working in laboratory, development, and manufacturing environments as needed.

The Senior Systems Verification & Validation Engineer is responsible for demonstrating and ensuring robots are safe, robust, performant, and satisfy market/customer needs. This position owns the verification & validation of requirements for autonomous last-mile delivery robots, both building out the high-level test campaigns through to defining the individual test cases and execution. This role partners cross-functionally to define and orchestrate the test and evaluation of complex systems by breaking high-level product goals and system requirements down into actionable strategies and methods for evaluation.
Responsibilities
Lead verification & validation test campaigns that ensure all requirements are satisfied and the delivery of a safe and responsible autonomous product
Work cross-functionally to develop novel strategies and methods to verify and validate both the hardware and software of an autonomous sidewalk delivery robot, drawing on analysis, simulation, HIL testing, and vehicle testing
Execute the technical and logistical planning of vehicle tests including cross-functional coordination with other teams, such as hardware, firmware, and autonomy
Maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, and results
Work cross-functionally to develop detailed simulations and structured test plans and procedures
Troubleshoot and debug issues in the field, and trace failures to correct subsystems
Perform test data analysis and report test results. Define and develop automated data extraction tools to streamline analysis and reporting
Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, Software or equivalent engineering field
8+ years of experience in the design and test of complex electromechanical and/or robotic systems
Experience and willingness to be hands-on with developing and building test infrastructure, executing tests and debugging of electromechanical systems
Experience with test scripting and data analysis languages (e.g. Python and SQL)
Fundamental knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering
Experience in data analysis of test results including probability and statistical analysis techniques
Experience with systems engineering fundamentals, particularly verification & validation methods
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for audiences ranging from technicians to senior executives

Experience in autonomous systems and/or mobile robotics
Experience in one or more of the following industries: automotive, medical, aerospace, robotics
