About the role
Application
From Fivetran’s founding until now, our mission has remained the same: to make access to data as simple and reliable as electricity. With Fivetran, customer data arrives in their warehouses, canonical and ready to query, with no engineering or maintenance required. We’re proud that more organizations continue to leverage our technology every day to become truly data-driven.
About Us
Fivetran and dbt Labs are bringing together two industry-leading companies with a shared mission: helping organizations unlock the full value of their data. Together, we’re delivering the data infrastructure layer that helps organizations move, transform, and trust their data — from the moment data moves, through every transformation, to the context teams and AI systems rely on. Fivetran helps organizations automate data movement across the systems, clouds, engines, and tools they rely on. dbt Labs pioneered analytics engineering, helping teams transform data into reliable, governed insights. Together, we support thousands of organizations as they build a trusted foundation for analytics, AI, and better business decisions. As we bring our teams and technology together, we’re building on the strengths of both companies while continuing to deliver the products and experiences our customers know and trust. It’s an exciting time to join us: we’re creating a company with the scale, talent, and technology to help more organizations put their data to work with greater speed, confidence, and impact. During this transition period, you may see references to both Fivetran and dbt Labs throughout our recruiting process as we integrate our teams, systems, and career sites.
About the Role
Fivetran and dbt are building the open data infrastructure that powers AI agents you can trust.
Fivetran is looking for a Staff R&D Software Engineer to join our fast-growing Fivetran AI team. Your data stack was built for humans — but agents are the new primary data consumers, and they have fundamentally different requirements. Agents can’t intuit context; it must be explicitly codified, governed, and traceable. We’re building the governed context layer that solves this problem: Agents Schema, an open standard for storing agent-ready context directly in the customer’s own data warehouse, and Context Builder, the managed service that keeps it filled and fresh.
This role goes well beyond standard engineering. You’ll research emerging techniques in the fast-moving AI landscape and bring real product and market understanding to decide which ideas are worth pursuing — and then you’ll take what you’ve learned and ship it as production software. We’re looking for a true generalist who is willing and able to wear whatever hat the moment calls for: prototyping a new retrieval technique one week, hardening a backend service the next, then doing SRE or QA work when the team needs it. At this level, you’re expected to be a trusted expert beyond your own team — defining technical direction that other teams build on, taking high-level direction and turning it into concrete plans with a high degree of independence, and using sound judgment to decide what deserves your attention. Fivetran AI operates like a startup within Fivetran, and we need engineers who thrive on that range and ambiguity rather than staying in one lane.
Fivetran is the epitome of data-driven development — our engineering team is focused on building a world class product that:
Builds Infrastructure Agents Can Trust — join our mission to deliver the governed context layer that AI agents depend on: accurate semantic definitions, traceable lineage, data contracts, and auditable history baked in from the start.
Embraces Open Standards — help build portable, interoperable data infrastructure: Agents Schema, open formats (Iceberg, Delta Lake), MCP-native interfaces, and connector skills that work with any model and any compute.
Scales Without Breaking — work to make Fivetran AI efficient at agent scale, where unit costs deflate as volume grows and context retrieval is fast, accurate, and cost-controlled.
We emphasize using no-nonsense tools and take great pride in the simplicity and effectiveness of the systems we build. Our back-end is built on Java, Python, Postgres, and Kubernetes, and our front-end is built on React and TypeScript.
This is a full-time hybrid position based out of our New York, NY office. Our hybrid work model offers a blend of remote flexibility and in-person collaboration, including two days in the office each week to connect and build as a team.
Technologies You’ll Use
Python, Java, SQL, dbt, LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini), vector databases, BigQuery / Snowflake / Databricks, MCP protocol, React, TypeScript, Kubernetes
What You’ll Do
Research emerging techniques in retrieval, reasoning, and agentic AI, and decide what’s actually worth pursuing for Fivetran AI’s roadmap — then convince others
Prototype new ideas quickly, then take the ones that prove out and turn them into shipped, production-grade features
Define technical direction that spans multiple teams within Fivetran AI, ensuring architecture decisions made in one area don’t create problems in another
Build and maintain both back-end and front-end systems for the Fivetran AI product — from Agents Schema pipelines to the Context Catalog UI
Drive the AISQL capability forward: natural language to SQL grounded in dbt metric definitions, executed natively against the warehouse
Take ownership of production reliability across the platform: on-call rotation, incident response, and SRE work to keep the system trustworthy at scale
Set the bar for testing and QA practices, and do hands-on QA work yourself when it matters most
Use coding agents to automate the repetitive parts of the job, freeing up time for the research and design work that needs a human
Take high-level direction from product and leadership and independently define and execute the concrete plan to get there
Mentor other engineers and raise the technical bar across the Fivetran AI team
Contribute to hiring by participating in and helping shape the interview process
Skills We’re Looking For
8+ years of programming experience across Python and/or Java, with the ability to move fluidly between back-end and front-end work
Considered a trusted expert beyond your own team, able to exert influence and define technical direction across multiple teams
Comfortable reading AI/ML research and turning promising findings into working prototypes, then production systems
Strong product and market awareness — able to judge which emerging techniques are worth building versus which are hype
Track record of taking ambiguous, high-level direction and independently defining and executing the concrete work to deliver it
Experience with SQL and data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar)
Genuine willingness to work across the full stack: research, backend, frontend, SRE, and QA, as the team’s needs demand
Writes well-structured, performant code and can dive into unfamiliar codebases to suggest improvements
Experience using coding agents or similar AI tooling to speed up day-to-day engineering work
Demonstrated ability to mentor other engineers and influence technical decisions beyond your immediate team
Thrives in a startup-like environment with shifting priorities and a high degree of ownership
Bonus Skills
Experience with LLM-powered applications — RAG pipelines, embeddings, evaluation frameworks, or agent frameworks
Familiarity with semantic layers — dbt, LookML, Sigma, or similar
Experience with the MCP (Model Context Protocol) ecosystem or building AI agent integrations
Background in site reliability engineering — monitoring, alerting, incident response
Experience in data processing (ETL, ELT) and/or building data connectors
Experienced working in a cloud environment utilizing AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, or Docker
Contributions to open source AI or data projects

This is a full-time hybrid position based out of our Denver, CO office.

Analytics Engineer
About Sprinter Health
At Sprinter Health, our mission is reimagining how people access care by bringing it directly to their homes. Nearly 30% of patients in the U.S. skip preventive or chronic care simply because they can’t get to a doctor’s office. For many, the ER becomes their first touchpoint with the healthcare system, driving over $300B in avoidable costs every year.
By using the same technologies that power leading marketplace and last-mile platforms, we deliver care where people are, especially those who need it most. So far, we’ve supported more than 2 million patients across 22 states, completed 130,000+ in-home visits, and maintained a 92 NPS. Our team of clinicians, technologists, and operators has raised over $125M from investors like a16z, General Catalyst, GV, and Accel and enjoys multi-year runway.
About the Role
We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer to build the trusted data layer that analysts, data scientists, operations, finance, product, and our payer customers depend on.
At Sprinter, data is central to how we operate, measure performance, serve patients, and support our health plan partners. This role will own the canonical models, metric definitions, transformation logic, documentation, and tests that make our data reliable and reusable across the company.
You’ll help define what each table, field, and metric means, then build the infrastructure that ensures those definitions are consistently applied. That includes modeling data in dbt or equivalent tooling, creating reporting-ready tables, improving lineage and documentation, reconciling metrics across teams, and helping prevent the kind of data drift and metric chaos that slows companies down as they scale.
This role is ideal for someone who treats metric definitions as product artifacts, thinks in contracts and tests, and cares deeply about making data trustworthy for both internal users and external customers.
Office Location
We are a hybrid company based in the Bay Area with offices in both San Francisco and Menlo Park. We operate on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays designated as work-from-anywhere days.
We care deeply about work-life balance and are happy to provide flexibility when life happens. We ask that employees be in the office Monday through Thursday to collaborate with their teams while maintaining flexibility where it matters most.
Lunch is provided every day, and the entire team takes an hour to eat together. It’s one of the ways we stay connected outside of meetings. You’ll usually find us playing a board game before getting back to work.
What you will do
Build canonical data models that create a shared source of truth across the company
Define and maintain core business, operational, financial, product, and customer-facing metrics
Model data in dbt or equivalent transformation tooling so dashboards, self-serve analytics, and customer reports pull from trusted tables
Write tests, documentation, and data quality checks that catch issues before they reach users
Create clear definitions for tables, fields, and metrics so teams understand what the data means and when to use it
Reconcile metric definitions across internal teams, external reporting needs, and payer customer expectations
Trace data lineage and debug dashboards, reports, or tables that change unexpectedly
Partner with analysts, data scientists, operations, finance, product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to understand data needs and translate them into reliable models
Help build reusable reporting frameworks that make onboarding new payers faster and less manual
Partner with the data platform team to evolve warehouse tables, improve data architecture, and strengthen data contracts
Improve warehouse cost, performance, and maintainability
Support PHI-aware data access patterns and help ensure sensitive healthcare data is modeled and used responsibly
What you have done
Built analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data modeling systems in a production cloud warehouse environment
Written expert-level SQL and designed data models that support reporting, analysis, and decision-making
Worked with dbt or an equivalent transformation framework
Built tested, documented, reusable data models rather than one-off queries
Defined, maintained, or reconciled business-critical metrics across teams
Partnered with analysts, data scientists, operators, finance teams, product teams, or customer-facing stakeholders
Debugged data quality issues, dashboard changes, metric discrepancies, and lineage problems
Worked with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks SQL, or similar
Balanced speed, correctness, usability, and maintainability when building data assets
Communicated clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders about what data means and how it should be used
What gives you an edge
You have experience with healthcare data, claims data, EHR data, payer data, provider data, or other complex healthcare datasets
You’ve worked with PHI, HIPAA-aware data access patterns, or other sensitive regulated data
You have experience building customer-facing reporting, embedded analytics, or multi-tenant data models
You’ve worked with row-level security, access controls, or governed self-serve analytics
You have experience using Python for analysis, scripting, data validation, or automation
You’ve helped establish a semantic layer, metrics layer, or company-wide source of truth
You’ve built data models in a high-growth startup or operationally complex environment
You have experience improving warehouse performance, cost, and query efficiency
What makes you successful
You treat a metric definition as a product artifact, not a Slack thread
You make data trustworthy, reusable, and easy to understand
You prevent metric chaos by building clear definitions, tests, and documentation
You build so that a fix in one place does not require five copy-paste edits elsewhere
You understand that internal users and external customers both need data they can trust
You care about the usability of the data model, not just whether the pipeline runs
You can explain data discrepancies clearly and drive teams toward shared definitions
You build foundations that help the company move faster with more confidence
Day to Day
In this role, you might spend your time:
Building or refactoring dbt models
Adding tests to core tables
Defining canonical fields and documenting how they should be used
Reviewing metric definitions and reconciling them across teams
Debugging a dashboard, report, or customer-facing metric that changed unexpectedly
Tracing lineage from source systems through warehouse models to downstream reports
Partnering with analysts, operators, finance, product, or customer-facing teams on reporting needs
Improving warehouse performance, cost, and maintainability
Designing reusable reporting structures that make new payer launches easier
The Interview Process
We aim to complete the interview process within 2–3 weeks. It will usually consist of:
Recruiter Screen: Background fit, motivation, and compensation alignment
Hiring Manager Interview: Analytics engineering experience, data modeling depth, and stakeholder partnership
Hands-on Technical Assessment: SQL, data modeling, metric design, and practical analytics engineering judgment
Onsite Interview: Technical case study, systems/data modeling discussion, behavioral interview, and lunch with the team
References: Validation of performance, judgment, and working style
What we offer
Meaningful pre-IPO equity
Medical, dental, and vision plans 100% paid for you and your dependents
Flexible PTO + 10 paid holidays per year
401(k) with match
16-week parental leave policy for birthing parent, 8 weeks for all other parents
HSA + FSA contributions
Life insurance, plus short and long-term disability coverage
Free daily lunch in-office
Annual learning stipend
Relocation assistance

ABOUT ARENA INTELLIGENCE
Arena is the platform for evaluating how AI models perform in the real world. Founded by researchers from UC Berkeley's SkyLab, we're on a mission to measure and advance the frontier of AI for real-world use, and to build the foundation for everyone to understand, shape, and benefit from it.
Tens of millions of people use Arena each month to evaluate how frontier systems handle the work they actually do. The preferences they share power the most transparent, rigorous, and human-centered evaluations in AI. Leading AI labs, enterprises, and independent researchers rely on our work and open datasets to understand how models behave in real workflows: agentic coding, creative generation, professional productivity, and beyond. We go beyond leaderboards and decompose what human experience reveals about AI, so models advance toward the work people actually do.
We're a team of researchers, academics, builders, and creatives from UC Berkeley, Google, Stanford, and DeepMind. We seek truth, move fast, and value craftsmanship, curiosity, and impact over hierarchy. We're building a company where thoughtful, curious people from all backgrounds can do their best work together, in an office culture that radiates excellence, energy, and focus.

Overview
Application
1 in 4 people in the US have a treatable mental health condition, but most providers don't accept insurance, making therapy too expensive for most people. Headway’s mission is to fix this by building a new mental healthcare system everyone can access. We started by solving the biggest barrier to care: insurance. The admin work - credentialing, claims, payment reconciliation - is a nightmare. We've automated that.
But we're going further. Over 75,000 providers across all 50 states run their practice on our software, serving over 1 million patients. We are building the best tools for therapists to run their entire practice, reimagining the experience of finding a therapist, and investing in the platform foundations to enable this at scale. We aren't just a billing layer; we are becoming the platform where care actually happens.
We're a Series D company with $325M+ in funding (a16z, Accel, Spark Capital, etc.), looking for exceptional people to help us achieve this mission. We want your time here to be the most meaningful experience of your career. Join us, and help change mental healthcare for the better.
About Data Platform at Headway
Building a new mental healthcare system at Headway is only possible because of the scale and leverage that software and data can provide. The Data Platform team is a group of Data Engineers and Data Infrastructure Engineers who build and own our Snowflake data warehouse, data ingestion tooling, AWS infrastructure, CI/CD, and data developer experience. As we scale, we're looking for a Staff Data Infrastructure Engineer to architect, lead, and evolve the foundational systems that power our entire data organization, including new AI-driven workflows being adopted by non-technical staff. You'll serve as a technical anchor across our Data Analytics & Engineering, Product Engineering, and Machine Learning teams. This is not an analytics role.
Who you are
A technical leader who combines deep infrastructure expertise with the organizational instincts to drive alignment across teams. You thrive in ambiguity, operate with a high degree of ownership, and are as comfortable setting technical direction as you are building. You make other engineers better through code, architecture review, documentation, and mentorship.
Experience we're seeking:
10+ years as a Data Platform Engineer, Software/Infrastructure Engineer specializing in data, or Data Engineer in a high-code, high-scale environment
Track record of driving technical strategy and cross-functional alignment, including defining roadmaps for a data platform or infrastructure domain
Deep expertise building full-stack data platforms: data warehousing, ingestion pipelines, orchestration, monitoring and alerting, CI/CD, developer tooling, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations
Architectural fluency in warehouse design patterns, performance tuning, cost management, and permissions strategies on MPP analytics databases (Snowflake strongly preferred; Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift also relevant)
Experience leading technical initiatives end-to-end across multiple teams and codifying engineering standards
Proficiency designing and operating cloud infrastructure at scale (AWS preferred) using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, AWS CDK)
Strong Python engineering skills; solid SQL foundations; comfort with distributed systems
Experience maintaining and scaling pipeline orchestration infrastructure (Airflow/Astronomer preferred)
Mentorship track record growing junior and mid-level engineers
Bonus points for:
Agentic Data Engineering (automating data infrastructure tasks, auditing permissions, optimized CI)
APM and observability tooling (DataDog, New Relic) and data quality/observability frameworks
ETL/ELT best practices at scale
Data security and compliance in regulated environments, especially PHI
Greenfield platform development in a high-growth startup
Docker, GitHub Actions, dbt, Spark
Build vs. buy decision-making and vendor evaluation
You'll love this role if you want to:
Set technical direction for data infrastructure at a company redefining access to mental healthcare
Serve as a force multiplier, making data engineers, analysts, and ML practitioners more effective through the systems and standards you put in place
Own consequential architectural decisions from whiteboard to production
Build in a fast-paced environment where we ship multiple times per day and measure impact quickly
Help shape Headway's engineering culture, processes, and documentation with the same rigor we bring to our products
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected base pay range for this position is $212,000 - $265,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an equity grant, depending on the position and level.
We are committed to offering a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package, including robust health and wellness benefits, retirement savings, and meaningful ownership opportunities through equity. Compensation decisions are made holistically, ensuring fairness and alignment with market benchmarks while recognizing individual contributions and potential.
Benefits offered include:
Equity compensation
Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage
HSA / FSA
401K
Work-from-Home Stipend
Therapy Reimbursement
16-week parental leave for eligible employees
Carrot Fertility annual reimbursement and membership
13 paid holidays each year as well as a Holiday Break during the week between December 25th and December 31st
Flexible PTO
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

WHO WE ARE
Imprint helps the world's best brands grow the lifetime value of their customers. We started with co-branded credit cards and rebuilt them to be smarter, more rewarding, and brand-first. We partner with companies like Crate & Barrel, Rakuten, Booking.com http://Booking.com, H-E-B, Fetch, and Shell to launch modern credit programs that deepen loyalty, unlock savings, and drive growth. But the card is just the beginning. We combine advanced payments infrastructure, intelligent underwriting, and deep customer data to create delightful and personalized experiences for members as well as efficient and profitable relationships for our brand partners. Our robust technology and world-class operations allow us and our brand partners to offer powerful financial products without becoming a bank.
In the U.S., co-branded cards alone account for over $300 billion in annual spend, and most still run on decades-old legacy bank systems. Imprint is the modern alternative: flexible, embeddable, and built for how people actually pay today. Backed by Kleiner Perkins, Thrive Capital, Ribbit, and Khosla Ventures, we're building a world-class team to redefine how people pay and how brands grow. If you want to move fast, solve hard problems, and own real outcomes, we want to meet you.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Own the design, development, and delivery of scalable data models, semantic layers, and dashboards that serve business-critical reporting across Imprint
- Partner directly with Engineering, Product, Finance, Marketing, and Operations to translate ambiguous business questions into reliable, scoped data solutions
- Build and maintain dbt models that establish consistent, reusable data definitions and reduce ad hoc request volume through self-serve analytics infrastructure
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) to accelerate implementation, from SQL generation and model scaffolding to automated documentation, while owning the analytical design and validation
- Own data quality, governance, and documentation practices for BI assets, ensuring dashboards and models are accurate, trustworthy, and discoverable
- Surface insights proactively by identifying gaps and opportunities in the business, not just responding to inbound requests
- Evaluate and adopt emerging AI tooling to improve team velocity, contributing to how the BI team integrates AI into its standard workflows
YOUR PROFILE
Required
- Proven experience designing and delivering production-grade data solutions in a complex, high-scale environment
- Deep SQL proficiency and strong data modeling fundamentals; the ability to read, validate, and direct complex queries matters more than raw writing speed in an AI-assisted workflow
- Experience with a modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake or Databricks, dbt, Sigma or Looker)
- Strong ability to work directly with stakeholders, translating ambiguous business questions into clear, scoped data products that non-technical users actually adopt and trust
- Active experience building with AI tools (Claude, Codex, Copilot, Cursor, or similar) integrated into daily analytical and engineering workflows, not just awareness
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment where you own projects end-to-end, prioritize based on business impact, and move fluidly between writing production SQL and sitting with stakeholders to define what "good" looks like
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or regulated financial environments
- Experience building or scaling BI infrastructure at a high-growth startup, including governance and data quality frameworks from scratch
- Familiarity with data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow) and Python or other scripting languages for transformation and automation
- Experience defining AI-augmented analytics workflows at a team level: AI-assisted code review, automated documentation, prompt-driven data exploration, or agentic patterns like MCP and tool-use applied to data workflows
We don't expect every candidate to check every box. If this role excites you and you bring strong fundamentals, we encourage you to apply.
STACK
Snowflake, dbt, Sigma. SQL as the primary language, with Python for transformation and automation. AWS infrastructure.
