Project Operations Associate
About Base
Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
About the Role
Base is seeking a highly organized and execution-focused Project Operations Associate to support both the pre- and post-installation stages of our battery deployments. This role offers hands-on experience at the heart of our deployment pipeline — contributing to the day-to-day task execution that keeps projects moving from contract through to completion. Because we're a fast-moving startup, the scope of this role evolves constantly, and we expect this person to adapt quickly, stay attentive to the details, and bring a proactive mindset to everything they do. This role is crucial for maintaining a healthy project pipeline and enabling Base Power's rapid growth.
Beyond execution, the intern will also have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to how we work. Since this person is close to the tools and processes we use daily, we encourage them to spot friction, flag inefficiencies, and bring forward ideas — with proposed solutions.
What You'll Do
Own timely, detail-oriented execution across the full deployment workflow, from pre-installation through post-installation, tracking project statuses and flagging anything that could cause delays
Reviewing photos and documentation submitted by members to assess installation feasibility, configuration requirements, and code compliance
Generating permit packages and preparing interconnection agreement submissions
Submitting applications and documentation through AHJ and utility portals
Reaching out to and following up with members, utilities, and AHJs to move projects forward
Managing REP enrollments through the full process, ensuring they are moving through without delays or rejections
Closing out permits and ensuring all project records are clean and up to date
Identify process and tool improvement opportunities
Proactively identify inefficiencies or gaps in our workflows and tooling, and bring proposed solutions to the team
What You'll Bring
2+ years of experience in project coordination, operations, or a similar role, preferably within the solar, battery, construction, or utility sectors
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clear and professional interactions with members and external stakeholders
Experience scheduling and coordinating with external stakeholders (e.g., inspectors, utility representatives, AHJs)
Proficiency in managing documentation and utilizing online portals
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively address potential roadblocks
Keen attention to detail with a track record of catching errors and ensuring accuracy in high-volume work
Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines without losing speed or quality
About the Team
The Deployment Pipeline Operations team is responsible for driving every project from contract through to completion. This team owns the full deployment pipeline — from pre- to post-installation — including site survey review, AHJ permitting, utility interconnection agreements, REP enrollments, and installation scheduling. We turn complex, often inconsistent requirements into a standardized, repeatable process so we can deploy batteries as quickly as possible and scale without sacrificing quality or speed. Success on this team is measured by pipeline health, cycle times, and our ability to move every deal through without anything getting stuck or delayed — directly enabling Base's growth and member experience. Team members are highly detail-oriented, thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and take pride in staying ahead of problems and solving operational challenges that keep the pipeline moving.
Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.
Our Values
First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.
Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.
Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.
Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.
Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.
Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.
Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.
Do the best work of your life at Base.

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.
ABOUT THE JOB
Operations Associates at Anduril have two primary responsibilities:
- Improving Anduril’s Operations: Operations Associates work across & within every division and functional organization to improve the processes that define & support Anduril’s growth. Operations Associates build out data-capture and analytics-reporting muscles to drive positive change over the long term.
- Executing Special Projects: Operations Associates are frequently pulled into high-priority initiatives impacting many Anduril teams that must be solved, but do not fall neatly into the purview of an existing person’s job description. They are some of the first individuals to get tapped when a messy problem needs solving.
Much of the time, both of these go hand-in-hand.
As an Operations Associate, you will be critical to supporting both of these responsibilities. While you’ll be a member of a Functional or Division Operations team (e.g., Production, Strategic Real Estate, Air Dominance & Strike, Connected Warfare, etc.), you will often be embedded in the business, working cross-functionally with leaders and other stakeholders to solve its messiest problems, capture data, problem-solve by acting upon that data, and enable others to do the same.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own operational projects end-to-end, from definition, to solutioning, to implementation. You will be handed ambiguous problems with little prescription on how to solve them. If this does not excite you, this is not the role for you.
- Anduril is hardware business, and tracking hardware is messy. Our operations teams work on problems that sit at the intersection of people, hardware and software systems including:
- Inventory management systems
- Staffing & recruiting operations
- Asset-tracking in the field
- Manufacturing systems capturing data on quality-issues on the production floor.
- Work on strategic problems, providing structure to ambiguity and helping shepherd cross-functional groups of stakeholders towards decisions on strategic issues. The role will ask you to couple first principles thinking with creative and iterative analysis to fully detail the impacts of potential decisions.
- Work deeply within data and systems, become intimately familiar with how our business systems (ERP, MRP, HRIS, etc.) function, and leverage data from them to execute scrappy analyses on short timelines, all the while equipping functional teams with insights and tools to measure and improve their processes.
- Project manage across large groups of stakeholders including, leading large meetings, managing large Slack channels, and wrangling stakeholders towards a solution. This role requires the ability to translate across Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Engineering, HR, Recruiting, Growth, Deployments, and more.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- You have 1+ years of experience in a management consulting, investment banking, internal strategy & operations, or business analyst role.
- You lean into acknowledging your weaknesses and take the idea of feedback and growth seriously.
- You get energy from being a thought partner for others and it excites you to spend time translating operational problems into data problems, and to then going and executing on them.
- You are self-driven and relentlessly proactive. You don’t need someone to tell you to “move”. You just move. We’d rather have to tell you to slow down than to speed up.
- You don’t wait on others to solve problems. You proactively step into the gap to offer solutions yourself.
- You enjoy working at a place where no one minds if you leave early one day to go to an appointment or run an errand, but you also don’t mind responding to Slacks in the evening while you’re watching Netflix.
- You have an appetite to build clear frameworks to structure problems.
- You have strong analytical aptitude. You intuitively think about problems in terms of numbers and data-models, and you are able to quickly execute analyses in Excel or SQL.
- You are comfortable communicating broadly and having a lot of eyes on your work. This role can at-times require comms to large groups and senior leadership. This should excite you!
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export controlled information or facilities
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
