Position Summary
Acceldata is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Engineer to join our high-performing team. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our Acceldata solutions (Hadoop Observability & Open Data Platform). You will be the technical expert and a key liaison between our customers and the sales team, demonstrating the value and capabilities of our products to address customer challenges effectively.
We’re looking for someone who can:
Collaborate with Acceldata Account Teams, Product, and Customer Support teams to help prospects, customers, and partners identify the value and need for Acceldata solutions.
Develop, customise, and conduct technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospective customers, showcasing our solutions and how they address specific customer needs and challenges.
Proficiency in multiple Hadoop components (HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, HBase, Ranger, Kerberos, Kafka, Zookeeper, etc.) & their working architecture, usage & workflow.
Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: Apache Spark, Trino, Jupyter and Airflow
Partner with the Enterprise and Strategic Accounts teams to identify prospects’ environments and technical requirements to pursue tailored sales strategies, providing technical expertise to help close deals effectively.
Work closely with customers to design and develop solutions tailored to their data environments and technical requirements.
Develop comprehensive technical proposals & assist with crafting statements of work (SOWs).
Lead the implementation of POCs to demonstrate the value & functionality of our products in the customer's environment. Analyze results & present value-oriented results to stakeholders.
Support from professional services and engineering will be provided as needed for technical expertise, closing gaps, or handling large or long-term engagements and pilots.
Provide internal support to sales, presales, marketing, partner and product teams. This includes marketing content development, demo asset creation, field intelligence, training, subject matter expertise, etc. to drive company success.
Educate the sales team on the technical aspects of data observability solutions, enabling them to effectively communicate product value to customers and prospects.
Assist in the development and maintenance of technical documentation, including product guides, technical specifications, and knowledge base articles, to aid customers and internal stakeholders in understanding and utilizing the data observability solutions.
Partner with AE’s and sales managers to ensure deal qualification - making sure a strong solution and technical fit before significant technical investment.
What makes you the right fit for this position?
12+ years of experience in a SaaS and Data Industry Sales Engineering role.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with at least one of the following CSVs: AWS, GCP, and/or Azure.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, including Databricks or Snowflake.
Hands-on experience with data observability, data monitoring, data integration, and/or data quality products.
Strong understanding of data observability trends, challenges, & opportunities in the industry.
Strong understanding of the data ecosystem, including data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming data architectures.
Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to listen to customer needs, understand their pain points, and propose relevant data observability solutions.
Ability to analyze customer data scenarios & recommend suitable observability strategies.

$200,000 - $250,000 a year

Technical Account Manager - xLake: Data & AI Platform
Our Technical Account Managers are customer-facing technical advisors and architects who own long-term customer success and value realisation for Acceldata’s strategic enterprise accounts.
Our TAMs act as trusted technical advisors and architects, partnering closely with Strategic Account Managers, Product, and Engineering teams to translate customer business priorities into multi-quarter technical success plans, align product capabilities with customer needs, and enable predictable account expansion. This is a high-impact, consultative role focused on outcomes for both the customer and Acceldata.
Lead high-impact customer technical projects, including reference architectures, how-to guides, demo applications, and production-grade MVPs.
Provide technical leadership and consultation to support customers post-sale, guiding architecture, design, implementation, and adoption of Acceldata solutions.
Assist customers with transformational data projects, including migrations, installations, and deployments in complex environments.
Help overcome technical challenges across Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and data workflows, optimizing customer deployments.
Collaborate with internal Engineering, Product, Project Management, and Support teams to ensure successful delivery, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
Architect end-to-end solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, security, and cloud-native best practices.
Travel to customer sites as needed to deliver deep technical engagement and business impact.
Provide feedback to Product and Engineering on product gaps, areas for improvement, and feature requests that support long-term customer success.
Customer Success & Value Ownership
Act as a trusted technical advocate for a defined set of accounts, partnering closely with Sales & Products.
Author and manage Joint Success Plans / Success Contracts (for next 3–4 quarters).
Build strong relationships with customer technical stakeholders to ensure adoption, value realization, and satisfaction.
Monitor technical health, usage adoption, and deployment success; proactively intervene and mitigate risks.
Participate in business and technical reviews, roadmap discussions, and strategic planning to align product value with customer objectives.
Translate technical achievements into business impact, providing actionable insights and metrics for customer leadership.
REQUIREMENTS
12+ years of experience as a Customer-Facing Architect in enterprise data management or data platforms and distributed systems (Data & Control plane architectures).
Deep understanding of data pipelines and metadata management, data observability, lineage, and governance.
Familiarity with data quality, data catalog, and governance tools like Informatica, Collibra, Alation, Atlan, etc.
Experience working across AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.
Experience with modern cloud data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
Hands-on experience with:
- Apache Spark, Kafka, and other open source big data platform technologies.
- Kubernetes and containerized workloads.
Strong consultative mindset with enterprise customers, with the ability to translate business outcomes into technical architectures.
Executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex customers simultaneously.
Comfortable influencing Product and Engineering through structured inputs.
Experience in a global SI or consulting firm, managing multiple customer engagements in a consultative role, is highly desired.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
