About the Role
Applied Intuition builds and deploys autonomous systems across automotive, trucking, and industrials programs. As we scale, we need one company standard: consistent procedures, consistent records, and evidence we can put in front of any customer or regulator, in any program.
This role owns that standard. You will build and run the operational safety compliance and assurance framework across every program — procedures, incident classification, compliance obligations, and the records that evidence all of it.
This is a cross-program mandate, not a program-embedded one. Individual programs will continue to execute; your job is to make sure they execute against the same standard and can prove it.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Establish a unified operational framework across automotive, trucking, and industrials, including SOPs, readiness checklists, and incident taxonomy.
- Own the operational safety ownership map, identifying responsibilities, gaps, and cross-functional dependencies.
- Develop and maintain safety-driven operational procedures in partnership with Systems Engineering and Program Management.
- Represent Operations in change control and deployment readiness reviews, ensuring execution readiness.
- Own the operational compliance framework, including permits, authorizations, customer obligations, audits, and regulatory changes.
- Ensure fleet compliance requirements are met and documented, including inspections, maintenance, safety-critical parts, defect containment, and DOT drug/alcohol testing.
- Own incident management end to end, from classification and response through RCA, CAPA, and verified effectiveness.
- Drive cross-program incident and safety trend analysis, ensuring lessons learned reach all field teams.
- Define and maintain operational safety evidence, support safety cases and customer assurances, and report safety performance to leadership.
We're looking for someone who has:
- 7+ years in operational compliance, transportation safety, program management, or a related field, including 3+ years in a safety-critical or regulated environment.
- Proven ownership of compliance programs, including building and maintaining the underlying framework.
- Experience standardizing processes across multiple programs, sites, or business units.
- Strong experience with root cause analysis and CAPA through verified closure.
- Proven ability to build audit-ready documentation and recordkeeping systems.
- Excellent written communication, with the ability to create clear operator procedures and concise executive-level summaries.
Nice to have:
- Experience in autonomous vehicles, trucking, mining, aviation, rail, or another safety-critical, regulated industry.
- Experience across multiple operating domains, with the ability to distinguish true regulatory differences from local practices.
- Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and MSHA requirements, plus familiarity with state AV permitting.
- Familiarity with safety case methodologies and standards such as ISO 26262, SOTIF, or UL 4600.
- Relevant safety certification (e.g., CSP, OSHA 500/501, or MSHA Part 46/48).
- Experience supporting multiple customer programs with differing contractual and safety requirements.
Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.

This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions
About the role
The Account Executive for Navy Mission Systems is the front-line seller and relationship owner for Applied Intuition’s Navy portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Growth, you will own a set of Navy accounts and be responsible for three things: building and maintaining the customer relationships that keep Applied Intuition present and relevant; selling our capabilities into those accounts by shaping deals and creating opportunities; and expanding our footprint by prospecting for new contacts, programs, and budget lines. You are accountable for generating and progressing pipeline within your accounts, and converting relationships into revenue.
Your primary value is in working with the customer to identify problems, frame solutions, and build a path to contract before a formal solicitation exists. You spend the majority of your time in conversations, not in documents. You generate and shape opportunities through relationships and selling; you are outward-facing, customer-first, and focused on creating demand.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
Own a portfolio of Navy accounts (e.g., NAVSEA, NAVAIR, PEO IWS, ONR) and serve as the primary, persistent point of contact the customer associates with Applied Intuition
Grow your account by prospecting and identifying new contacts, breaking into adjacent program offices, and finding new programs or budget lines that align with our capabilities
Conduct working-level discovery with government customers to understand budget cycles, contract strategies, organizational dynamics, and emerging needs
Lead customer-facing meetings, present capability briefs, run demos alongside Solutions Architects, and define clear next steps
Work with Mission Directors and Capture managers to shape deals before they become formal solicitations
We’re looking for someone who has:
Navy operational or acquisition background with existing relationships in NAVSEA, NAVAIR, PEO IWS, ONR, or warfare communities
2–4 years of experience in a customer-facing, revenue-generating role. This could be in defense, but just as likely in tech sales, SaaS, consulting, financial services, or military service
Ability to understand customer problem and workflows and work with Product and Delivery teams to scope solutions
Track record of successfully managing accounts from opportunity identification through contract award in a startup or fast-paced environment
High energy, charisma, persistence and comfort with ambiguity
U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Secret or Top Secret security clearance
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Navy acquisition processes, the PPBE cycle, and the POM process
Experience working with Naval unmanned systems, autonomous platforms, or combat systems programs or familiarity with modeling & simulation, autonomy software, or Vehicle OS architectures in a defense context
Experience with consultative or solution selling, where you shaped the scope of what was sold rather than selling off a price sheet
Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. Base salary is a single component of the total compensation package, which may also include equity in the form of options and/or restricted stock units, comprehensive health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance coverage, 401k retirement benefits with employer match, learning and wellness stipends, and paid time off. About the role
The Proposal Writer is the hands-on-keyboard person who translates capture strategy, technical inputs, and customer requirements into compliant, compelling written products. Reporting to the Head of Growth, you will be responsible for drafting direct-to-customer proposals, responses to RFPs, Statements of Work (SOWs), Basis of Estimates (BoEs), technical documentation, and other customer-facing materials that enable Applied Intuition to win and execute defense contracts. You are a writer first, someone who can take complex technical concepts from engineering teams and turn them into clear, scannable, customer-focused narratives that address evaluation criteria and win themes.
You work cross-functionally with BD, engineering, delivery, and product teams to pull what you need, push back when inputs are unclear, and produce proposal sections that are compliant, compelling, and on time. We’re looking for someone with startup energy who can operate both within a team and independently.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
Draft and edit proposals from first draft through final submission, including executive summaries, technical volumes, management volumes, past performance narratives, staffing plans, resumes, and other required sections
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Delivery, and Solutions teams and translate technical capabilities and engineering inputs into clear, customer-facing language that addresses evaluation criteria and speaks to government customer pain points
Ensure proposals are compliant with solicitation instructions, evaluation factors, page limits, formatting requirements, required attachments, and submission rules
Draft Statements of Work with clear deliverables, milestones, and acceptance criteria that align with technical approaches and pricing structures
Develop Rough Order of Magnitudes (ROMs) and pricing proposals, milestone-based pricing structures, and Basis of Estimates narratives in collaboration with contracts and engineering teams
We’re looking for someone who has:
BA/BS in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related field
3–8 years of proposal writing, technical writing, grant writing, or related experience
Demonstrated ability to write Statements of Work, technical specifications, or similar structured technical documents and compelling, customer-focused proposals under tight deadlines and while managing multiple efforts simultaneously
Comfortable working directly with BD, and the technical fluency to translate complex technical concepts from delivery, engineering, and product teams
Bias toward action and self-starting mentality and a rigorous attention to detail and compliance
Nice to have:
Government contracting fluency. Familiarity with RFP structures, evaluation criteria, FAR/DFARS, and DoD procurement processes without being dogmatic about “how it’s always been done”
Experience writing proposals or technical documentation for defense, aerospace, or similarly regulated industries
Hybrid background spanning both traditional defense primes and startup/scale-up environments

Executive-level expertise in and knowledge of the PPBE cycle, the POM process, and how to navigate Congressional authorization/appropriation dynamics
Specific, warm relationships within US Air Force PEO ISR SOF, NAVAIR, SOCOM (particularly Defense Autonomous Warfare Group), or US Army PM UAS
Deep understanding of aerial combat capability gaps and force structure challenges and comfort operating at the “white space” stage of programs, identifying opportunities that don’t yet have formal names, budget lines, or acquisition strategies
Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance
Nice to have:
Prior experience as a Program Manager at DARPA, DIU, AFWERX, Army Applications Lab, or SOFWERX
Deep familiarity with DoD autonomy programs or direct operational experience with group 1-3 unmanned aerial systems in combat or training environments
Track record of successfully positioning commercial technology for government adoption in the autonomy domain

- Own a portfolio of Navy accounts (e.g., NAVSEA, NAVAIR, PEO IWS, ONR) and serve as the primary, persistent point of contact the customer associates with Applied Intuition
- Grow your account by prospecting and identifying new contacts, breaking into adjacent program offices, and finding new programs or budget lines that align with our capabilities
- Conduct working-level discovery with government customers to understand budget cycles, contract strategies, organizational dynamics, and emerging needs
- Lead customer-facing meetings, present capability briefs, run demos alongside Solutions Architects, and define clear next steps
- Work with Mission Directors and Capture managers to shape deals before they become formal solicitations
WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS:
- Navy operational or acquisition background with existing relationships in NAVSEA, NAVAIR, PEO IWS, ONR, or warfare communities
- 2–4 years of experience in a customer-facing, revenue-generating role. This could be in defense, but just as likely in tech sales, SaaS, consulting, financial services, or military service
- Ability to understand customer problem and workflows and work with Product and Delivery teams to scope solutions
- Track record of successfully managing accounts from opportunity identification through contract award in a startup or fast-paced environment
- High energy, charisma, persistence and comfort with ambiguity
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Secret or Top Secret security clearance
NICE TO HAVE:
- Familiarity with Navy acquisition processes, the PPBE cycle, and the POM process
- Experience working with Naval unmanned systems, autonomous platforms, or combat systems programs or familiarity with modeling & simulation, autonomy software, or Vehicle OS architectures in a defense context
- Experience with consultative or solution selling, where you shaped the scope of what was sold rather than selling off a price sheet

- Draft and edit proposals from first draft through final submission, including executive summaries, technical volumes, management volumes, past performance narratives, staffing plans, resumes, and other required sections
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Delivery, and Solutions teams and translate technical capabilities and engineering inputs into clear, customer-facing language that addresses evaluation criteria and speaks to government customer pain points
- Ensure proposals are compliant with solicitation instructions, evaluation factors, page limits, formatting requirements, required attachments, and submission rules
- Draft Statements of Work with clear deliverables, milestones, and acceptance criteria that align with technical approaches and pricing structures
- Develop Rough Order of Magnitudes (ROMs) and pricing proposals, milestone-based pricing structures, and Basis of Estimates narratives in collaboration with contracts and engineering teams
WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS:
- BA/BS in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related field
- 3–8 years of proposal writing, technical writing, grant writing, or related experience
- Demonstrated ability to write Statements of Work, technical specifications, or similar structured technical documents and compelling, customer-focused proposals under tight deadlines and while managing multiple efforts simultaneously
- Comfortable working directly with BD, and the technical fluency to translate complex technical concepts from delivery, engineering, and product teams
- Bias toward action and self-starting mentality and a rigorous attention to detail and compliance
NICE TO HAVE:
- Government contracting fluency. Familiarity with RFP structures, evaluation criteria, FAR/DFARS, and DoD procurement processes without being dogmatic about “how it’s always been done”
- Experience writing proposals or technical documentation for defense, aerospace, or similarly regulated industries
- Hybrid background spanning both traditional defense primes and startup/scale-up environments
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a Secret or Top Secret security clearanceCompensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits.
