ABOUT CLIPBOARD
Our mission is to uplift as many communities as possible. We do this through our app-based marketplace that connects healthcare professionals with the workplaces that need amazing workers. This enables hundreds of thousands of people to achieve financial stability for themselves and their families while providing essential care to millions of people across the U.S.
Founded in 2016, we are a remote-first team of over 1,000 people building a top Y-Combinator company https://www.ycombinator.com/topcompanies/ and have been profitable since 2022. We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities.
PRODUCT STRATEGY & OPERATIONS
Clipboard Health is a marketplace that connects healthcare facilities with professionals looking for shifts.
Our largest customers run complex operations, and when something isn't working, the problem often sits across multiple teams, systems, and stakeholders. A customer may be implementing a new product, dealing with a complex integration, or facing an operational issue with no obvious owner or solution.
That's where you come in.
As a Product Strategy & Operations team member, you'll work directly with some of our most important enterprise customers while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations. You'll take ambiguous problems, figure out what's actually happening, and drive the work required to solve them.
This isn't a role where you hand over a recommendation and move on. You'll own critical initiatives from understanding the problem through implementation and resolution.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own complex customer and product problems from diagnosis through resolution
- Work directly with enterprise customers to understand their challenges, manage expectations, and build strong relationships with stakeholders ranging from operators to VP and Director-level leaders
- Lead complex implementations, particularly involving areas such as time clock compliance, payroll, and integrations with systems like ADP and UKG
- Break ambiguous problems into clear workstreams, priorities, owners, and timelines
- Dig into data and customer feedback to identify root causes and separate symptoms from the underlying problem
- Partner closely with Product and Engineering to investigate issues, define solutions, and improve the product based on what you're seeing with customers
- Coordinate across Product, Engineering, Operations, and other internal teams to unblock work and keep critical initiatives moving
- Communicate clearly and directly with customers and internal stakeholders, especially when priorities shift or things aren't going according to plan
- Identify recurring customer problems and patterns, and use those insights to help improve our product and how we operate
- Travel to customer sites occasionally when being there in person will help move an important problem or implementation forward
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 2–6 years of experience in consulting, strategy and operations, implementation, customer strategy, or another role where you've managed complex problems and demanding stakeholders
- Experience working directly with clients or customers, ideally in situations where you were responsible for managing relationships and navigating difficult conversations
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity. You can walk into a situation with incomplete information, ask the right questions, and create a clear plan
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You know how to dig beneath the topline and get to the root cause of an issue
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. We'd feel confident putting you in front of senior customer stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to drive work across teams without direct authority
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple workstreams, priorities, and stakeholders at once
- A strong sense of ownership. You'd rather be responsible for the outcome than simply complete your piece of the work
- Curious, resourceful, and persistent when the answer isn't obvious
Consulting backgrounds are often a strong fit, particularly for candidates who have experience solving ambiguous problems, working directly with clients, and driving complex projects across multiple stakeholders. However, we're open to candidates from other backgrounds with the same core skill set.
LOCATION
This is an onsite role based in our San Francisco office for ~2 days per week. We're also open to candidates who are willing to relocate to the Bay Area.
THE INTERVIEW PROCESS
At Clipboard, we don't believe proxies are a reliable way to measure ability. We prefer to evaluate candidates by having them do work that closely resembles the actual job.
Our process is designed around that:
1. Preliminary Screen
2. Case Study
3. Case Study Interview
4. Hiring Manager Interview
5. Culture Interview
6. Reference Check
7. Offer!

THE OPPORTUNITY
We're building Million Dollar Nurse https://www.youtube.com/@MillionDollarNurse, a new YouTube channel for nurses and caretakers across America looking to advance their careers. Nurses are one of the largest and hardest-working groups in the country, but they have few resources available to them to help them outside of the classroom.
We’re changing that, becoming the place nurses go to learn and progress. The first step to realizing this vision is a YouTube channel similar to CeraVe’s Daily Derm http://youtube.com/channel/UC1gRb7v3ZmLy_GqtG7VLavg?themeRefresh=1. From there, we'll build out a newsletter, an engaged community, and eventually a hub of free resources, similar to what The White Coat Investor https://www.whitecoatinvestor.com/personal-finance-for-doctors/ is for doctors.
You'll be the person who makes that happen, both behind the scenes and on camera.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
You will run a lean production that creates 7 short-form videos and 1 long-form video every week. To start, you’ll have an editor and thumbnail designer reporting to you, but as the channel scales, so will your team and resources.
What that means in practice:
- You're on camera 3-4 hours per week. You host both the daily shorts and the weekly long-form videos.
- You set the content strategy. What topics we cover, what angles we take, what we skip. You're the one who knows “17 Habits of Rich Nurses” is going to crush and that “Nursing Career Tips” isn't worth anyone's time.
- You manage the production. From concept to delivery, you keep the production moving, delivering great work while sticking to deadlines.
- You watch what's working. Alongside our Head of Social, you analyze our numbers bi-weekly to determine what’s working, what’s not, and how we tweak production to boost performance.
Who We're Looking For
This role doesn't fit one obvious resume. This role could click for someone from content, journalism, ops, finance, healthcare, or some mix of all of them. We care more about who you are than what you did last.
Notably:
- You’re magnetic on camera. Think CatGPT https://www.instagram.com/reel/DZLwZ3cCVyh/?hl=en or Emily McDonald https://www.instagram.com/reel/DbQ4tlBxVG6/?hl=en. You come across as a confident, genuine mentor that our audience deeply trusts.
- You're curious and you learn fast. This job touches finance, content, YouTube growth, team management, and an audience you likely don’t know well yet. That should excite you, not concern you.
- You’re a great writer. You are able to research and distill “boring” topics into engaging scripts that nurses are excited to watch.
- You care about the audience. Nurses deserve better than what's out there and the idea of helping people better their lives should excite you.
BONUS, NOT REQUIRED:
- You've produced video content before
- You've grown a YouTube channel
- You've worked in financial services, media, or healthcare

We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Manager, Strategic Partnerships to help grow our healthcare staffing marketplace through high-impact relationships with companies and organizations that already serve our customers.
This person will identify, build, and manage partnerships with groups such as healthcare REITs, law firms, technology companies, consultants, associations, and other organizations with deep relationships across the healthcare ecosystem.
The goal is to create mutually beneficial partnerships that help us reach more healthcare facilities, strengthen our market position, and deliver more value to both sides of the marketplace.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with organizations that have strong relationships across the healthcare operator ecosystem, including healthcare REITs, healthcare-focused law firms, technology vendors, consultants, advisory firms, and industry associations.
- Own the partnership lifecycle end to end: sourcing and prioritizing potential partners, building the business case, leading outreach and discovery, negotiating partnership structures, coordinating internal stakeholders, launching partnerships, and tracking performance over time.
- Create partnership models that generate mutual value, including referrals, co-marketing, strategic introductions, integrations, channel partnerships, and other creative commercial arrangements.
- Attend conferences, trade shows, and other industry events where strategic partner relationships can be developed.
- Work closely with Sales, Account Management, Marketing, Operations, Legal, Product, and Leadership to ensure partnerships are commercially valuable, operationally realistic, and aligned with company priorities.
- Bring market feedback back into the business to help shape our strategy, positioning, product opportunities, and customer acquisition efforts.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 4+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, sales, growth, healthcare, healthcare technology, healthcare services, staffing, real estate, consulting, or a related field
- Existing relationships in healthcare services, real estate, technology, or related adjacent industries
- Experience sourcing, structuring, and managing commercial relationships
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building a function, playbook, or channel from the ground up
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong business judgment and ability to identify mutually beneficial opportunities
- Proven ability to build trust with senior external stakeholders and balance relationship-building with measurable commercial outcomes
- Excitement to be a part of building out a system that serves as the playbook for potential future hires in this space
WHAT WE OFFER
- Insurance benefits and 401k options
- Unlimited PTO and flexible holidays
- Remote flexibility

We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're building a new team, Applied Science, and we're looking for our first outside hire.
Clipboard https://www.clipboardhealth.com/ is a Sequoia-backed marketplace connecting nurses and healthcare professionals with long-term care facilities, with over $800M in annual transactions. You'd be joining a three-person quantitative pod with a dedicated engineering rotation that has spent the last year shipping auction systems in a live, two-sided market. We're now formalizing that work into a dedicated Applied Science function. The team owns the quantitative infrastructure underneath the marketplace: pricing algorithms, auction mechanisms, causal models, metric definitions, and experiment frameworks. Some of that work ships as product; some becomes the analytical substrate every team in the company depends on.
ABOUT THE WORK
You'll be designing systems where the analytical choices are the product decisions. Concretely, you’ll be building pricing algorithms, designing auction mechanisms that shape how supply and demand interact, developing attendance and reliability models that determine worker↔workplace relationships, and constructing the experiment frameworks the rest of the org runs its ideas through. When a key metric moves and the cause isn't obvious, you'll run the investigation.
Methods in play include causal identification (diff-in-diff, IV, regression discontinuity), cluster-randomized trial design, discrete-time hazard modeling, mechanism design, and anomaly detection on marketplace time series. You'll work directly with engineers to take models from prototype to production, and write clearly enough to make your reasoning legible to PMs and leadership.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field: economics, statistics, engineering, mathematics, etc or commensurate practical experience.
- Experience building and deploying quantitative models (in applied or research settings)
- Comfort querying data directly (SQL or equivalent)
- Experience designing and analyzing controlled experiments
WHO THRIVES HERE
- PhD in economics, econometrics, operations research, statistics, engineering, or a closely related field. Equivalent depth from a quant research or trading environment.
- Track record of building applied models, not just publishing them; you've taken something from whiteboard to production.
- Sharp experimental intuition: you know the difference between a valid identification strategy and a plausible-sounding one, and you've defended that distinction in front of a skeptical audience.
- Background in quant finance, economic consulting, or marketplace work is a strong signal. We want people comfortable collaborating with competing ideas in high-stakes data environments.
COMPENSATION
$160K-$225K base + $50K-$150K equity. Range reflects experience; we'll be direct about where you'd land.
WORK LOCATION
This will be a hybrid role, with the expectation of working at least three days per week out of our office in San Francisco.
If this challenge seems exciting, apply!

ABOUT CLIPBOARD
Our mission is to uplift as many communities as possible. We do this through our app-based marketplace that connects healthcare professionals with the workplaces that need amazing workers. We’re the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and are rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more, meaning we have more work to do than people to do it, and are growing our team to support millions more people and their communities.
OVERVIEW
The Operations Strategy Associate role is a generalist role at Clipboard suited for the “all-around athlete” type who can do it all and wants exposure to a range of problems and opportunities.
You’re likely someone who’s interested in and capable of solving different problem types, you’re resourceful, adaptable, and confident you can figure it out if you can sink your teeth in deep enough. These are the ingredients for a problem-solver who is eager to flex into multiple different types of roles and responsibilities depending on what’s needed and most impactful.
While we know that you'll likely start working within one of our Operations teams, we don’t know exactly what work or projects you’ll drive out of the gate, so you’ll notice the work we’re advertising isn’t entirely specific. Some candidates may begin in more execution-focused roles within Operations, depending on their strengths, while others may take on project or team leadership earlier on.
But we’ll make a few promises about the role: it will be high-impact, fast-paced work that directly affects our customers, product, and business.
WHAT YOU MAY DO
Because you'll be joining the business where your strengths and our highest priorities intersect, no two Associates have exactly the same experience. Here are a few examples of the types of work you may own:
- Redesign our process for reaching out to workplaces about converting them to new methods of payment, such as getting customers who send checks to start paying us via eCheck to speed up the cash conversion process.
- Research, vet, and onboard a new vendor that embeds AI agents into our customer-facing efforts.
- Build an internal predictive analytics model to catch bad payers earlier with high accuracy.
- Spearhead a quality task force that ensures top quality for our biggest customers.
- Manage a team of agents within one of our Operations teams.
- Work directly within workflows, including handling customer interactions, resolving issues, and identifying opportunities to improve the front line processes.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We find those who are most successful in this type of role:
- Are insatiably curious and notice non-obvious clues and patterns: Curiosity https://creatingvalue.substack.com/i/46535664/noticing-and-curiosity sits atop our company values. Understanding something from first principles and getting to the root cause of the problem will often reveal the best solution, and a natural and unwavering curiosity to keep asking questions and digging will take you most of the way.
- Roll up their sleeves and go to the source: There are multiple ways to say this: touching reality, dogfooding, seeing for yourself, going to the front-lines, etc. Don’t just take someone’s word for it – go find out yourself by testing the feature, or listening to the agent call, or calling the customer, or executing the workflow. This is how you seek truth.
- Bring a tenacity and persistence to problem-solving: You’ll hit walls and find yourself in uncertain and unfamiliar situations. If you can sit with the uncertainty, look at the problem from new angles, and keep applying pressure to a problem – you’ll position yourself for breakthroughs.
- Bounce back from failure quickly: You’ll make mistakes, move in the wrong direction, and stumble from time-to-time. Just avoid big mistakes and don’t make the same mistakes twice, and learn from them quickly. Worry less about failing and more about losing momentum in your feedback loop. If you fail cheaply and quickly, that's worth the lesson/learning you get in return.
We are hiring multiple people and will continue hiring indefinitely for this role. We won’t close the funnel prematurely based on other candidates, but may periodically pause applications due to volume. We will hire everyone who meets our threshold of excellence and hope you meet our criteria.
We do not require any experience for this role. Experience will be taken into consideration for both (a) the work you’re placed into once hired and (b) compensation. In addition to experience, these two items are determined by performance during the interview process.
WHY JOIN CLIPBOARD?
- We are remote-first, giving you the flexibility to work with us from many places.
- Fast-Paced startup environment. Join a company that values curiosity, independence, and growth.
- A hiring process that rewards skills, not just experience. Every applicant gets a fair shot, our selection is based on real-world problem-solving ability, not just credentials.
- Opportunity to make a significant impact with our customers on both sides of the marketplace.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND IDEAL CANDIDATE:

You look forward to channeling your skills as a negotiator, advocate, and strategist into supporting and advocating for a mission-driven and groundbreaking business. You embrace and are not deterred by ambiguity and are eager to support a rapidly growing business in a fast-paced startup environment. You are willing to quickly dive in on new and “unfamiliar” legal issues. While you are passionate about government relations, you are also eager to take on more traditional legal work, in whatever area the team and the business need support. You are excited to support the company through both government relations outreach and legal advising.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Engage with state and federal lobbyists to draft proposed legislation and regulations.
- Create coalitions with other stakeholders who share our vision for legislative and regulatory change.
- Monitor relevant state and federal legislation and regulatory changes.

- Analyze and provide guidance to the company on evolving rules, regulations, compliance requirements, and trends impacting the tech and healthcare industries.
- Manage a range of legal matters, including but not limited to human resources, independent contractor classification, and state registration requirement work streams.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE 90 DAYS IN:
- You have developed and implemented a plan to address a company priority through government relations in at least two new states or two new outreach strategies.
- You have developed and implemented a plan to work with a specific group of stakeholders to promote the company’s interests.
- You have taken ownership over and fine tuned the company’s legislative and regulatory monitoring system and shared insights and trends that are digestible by both the legal team and internal business partners.
- You have contributed to drafting and updating at least one company policy and improving at least one substantial cross-functional process.
- You have integrated yourself and are supported the business on at least one workstream that is outside of “traditional” government relations work.
NEED TO HAVE:
- JD, with admission to a state bar.
- At least 5 years of relevant legal experience and/or government relations experience (at a well-respected lobbying firm, law firm, as an in-house attorney, or in a high-level government role including legislative outreach).
- At least 2 years of experience working in state or federal government.
- Experience engaging legislators and government regulators.
- Bias toward action and solving (not just spotting) problems.
- Ability to take ownership of your work and manage projects independently.
- Excellent communication and writing abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and autonomously and meet tight deadlines.
- Agility and flexibility to take on new tasks and responsibilities when necessary to support the business and legal team’s needs in a fast-moving, rapidly scaling, and dynamic tech company.
