Distyl is an applied AI technology company partnering with the world’s most ambitious institutions to rearchitect critical operations for the frontier of AI. Our customers include the largest companies in telecom, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, consumer goods, and global social organizations.
We research and deploy technologies that power AI-native operations — both for our partners and for Distyl itself. Our work spans research into self-constructing systems, the development of the most reliable execution of AI systems, and products that transform mission-critical workflows. As a result, Distyl's technologies affect some of the world's largest operations — from hundreds of millions of consumer interactions to tens of millions of supply chain transactions and millions of patient journeys.
Distyl is backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, Coatue, DST Global, and the board-members of 20+ F500s.
What We Are Looking For
Distyl deploys production AI into Fortune 500 operations in weeks. The difference between winning and falling short is operational rigor: clear goals, real accountability, and relentless forward motion.
The AI Operator, Implementation Delivery is the primary accountability owner on Distyl's most complex client programs. You will work shoulder-to-shoulder with forward-deployed engineers, architects, and customer executives — owning outcomes end-to-end, enforcing clarity where there is ambiguity, and closing the gap between what was promised and what gets delivered.
This role is for someone who loves being deep in the problem — on-site with customers, in the weeds of a hard program, driving forward motion without letting anything slip. Travel is a feature, not a constraint.
Key Responsibilities
Own End-to-End Delivery: Lead complex, large-scale AI implementations at Fortune 500 clients — managing parallel workstreams, owning the delivery timeline, and holding the team accountable to measurable outcomes on time and on budget
Enforce Operational Rigor: Ensure goals are clear and commitments are kept. A program doesn't ship until success is defined, ownership is clear, and risk is understood
Build Deep Client Trust: Establish and sustain trust with enterprise clients. Manage expectations with precision, align delivery to contracted outcomes, and lay the groundwork for lasting partnerships through demonstrated, measurable value
Drive Stakeholder Alignment: Navigate client executives, technical teams, and Distyl leadership with confidence. Provide clear, honest reporting on program status and surface risks before they become problems
Operate at Maximum Velocity: Keep programs moving in fast-changing environments. Adapt quickly when priorities shift without losing momentum or dropping balls
Grow and Motivate Teams: Onboard and organize forward-deployed engineers and AI strategists to design and build cutting-edge AI solutions at the client site
Operate as an AI-Native: You don't just champion AI — you use it. You stay on top of the latest models and tools, reinvent your own workflows continuously, and push your teams to do the same
Write the Playbook: Author best practices for delivering AI programs at scale. Distyl AI Operators should be the envy of the industry
Who You Are
A Chaos Wrangler: You bring order to ambiguity without slowing things down. You identify what's unclear, make it clear, and keep the program moving
A Background That Proves It: There is no single path to this role. The strongest candidates have come from places where the job was to own hard outcomes under pressure — Founders, Chiefs of Staff, COOs, Delivery Managers, and operators from high-intensity deployment environments. What matters is the pattern: you have shipped, wrangled, and delivered at scale
An Enterprise-Scale Executor: You have proven experience delivering large-scale programs for enterprise clients, including programs with significant budgets ($10M+)
Accountable: You hold yourself and your teams to a high bar. Missed deadlines have explanations and plans — not excuses.
A Strong Communicator Across All Levels: You switch seamlessly between technical deep-dives with engineers and high-level strategic conversations with C-suite executives
A Raiser of the Bar: You have seen what excellence looks like at scale — and you use that benchmark to raise the operating cadence of every team you join. You don't just know what good looks like in theory; you've lived it, and you won't accept less
Comfortable in Chaos: You thrive in fast-moving environments where priorities shift and the path forward isn't always clear. You find the path anyway
AI-Native, Not Just AI-Curious: You actively use frontier AI tools in your daily work and have a track record of reinventing your own workflows as the technology evolves. You have strong opinions about what's changing fast, and you hold yourself and your teams to the standard of staying ahead of it — not catching up to it
Travel-Ready and Customer-Obsessed: You love being on-site with customers and inside the problem. Expect 25–50% travel

What We Are Looking For
Distyl AI is looking for a technical growth leader to open new vertical markets from scratch. You’ll be identifying high-value segments, running discovery with enterprise buyers, closing initial design partners, and shaping how our platform gets packaged for each new market.
This is not an account management role. You’re building pipeline where none exists, in industries where AI adoption is early and the buyers are sophisticated. You need to understand technical architectures well enough to credibly engage CTOs and CDIOs, while also speaking the language of business outcomes with COOs and line-of-business leaders. You have direct experience in AI/ML sales, or selling into regulated/complex industries (healthcare, financial services, industrials, government, supply chain).
Key Responsibilities
Market Opening & Pipeline Creation
Identify and prioritize new vertical markets based on platform fit, buyer readiness, and deal economics
Build outbound pipeline from zero — cold outreach, network activation, conference presence, creative wedges
Run full-cycle discovery and qualification with enterprise buyers; own deals from first touch through close
Develop initial “Why Distyl” positioning tailored to each vertical’s pain points and competitive landscape
Build quantitative models (market sizing, unit economics, pricing sensitivity) to inform vertical prioritization and deal structuring
Solution Shaping & Technical Sales
Map Distyl’s platform capabilities to vertical-specific workflows and buyer needs
Partner with engineering and product to scope initial deployments and design partner engagements
Build and deliver technical demos, proof-of-concept proposals, and ROI frameworks customized per buyer
Translate complex AI/ML capabilities into concrete business value for non-technical stakeholders
Design and lead structured discovery workshops with enterprise buyers to rapidly identify pain points, decision criteria, and willingness to pay
Field Intelligence & Strategy
Synthesize learnings from prospect conversations into vertical strategy — what’s working, what’s not, where to double down
Conduct competitive analysis: who else is selling into these buyers, what’s their pitch, where do we win
Feed insights back to product and leadership to shape roadmap and go-to-market priorities
Identify repeatable patterns that can scale from 1-to-many within a vertical
Structure ambiguous go-to-market problems into testable hypotheses, prioritize the highest-leverage workstreams, and drive them to resolution with data
Align cross-functional stakeholders (product, engineering, leadership) around go-to-market priorities and resource allocation for new verticals
Collateral & Enablement (You Build It Because You Need It)
Create the first versions of pitch decks, one-pagers, battle cards, and objection-handling guides for your verticals
Develop segment-specific case studies and proof points as you close early customers
Build demo talk tracks and narrative frameworks that can eventually be handed to a broader GTM team
Who You Are
Hunter mentality. You get energy from building something from nothing. Cold outreach doesn’t scare you — you’re good at it
Technically fluent. You can hold your own in a conversation about model architectures, data pipelines, and system integrations. You don’t need to be an engineer, but you need to earn technical credibility with buyers
5-10 years in technical BD, solutions engineering, management consulting or solutions consulting in B2B enterprise software. You’ve sold complex platforms into sophisticated buyers
Vertical market experience. You’ve opened at least one new industry or segment from scratch — not inherited a book of business
Early-stage comfort. You’ve worked at companies under 50 people, or you’ve operated like it — building your own materials, running your own processes, figuring it out
Strong writer and communicator. You can produce a crisp deck or a cold email that actually gets replies, with minimal oversight
Structured thinker. You synthesize findings into crisp, exec-ready presentations — storyline-driven decks, not data dumps
80/20 instinct. You know when the analysis is “good enough” to act and don’t over-engineer before testing in-market
What We Offer
The base salary range for this role is $160K – $220K, depending on experience, location, and level. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for meaningful equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package
100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents
Flexible time off
Retirement and financial planning benefits, including access to pre-tax HSA, FSA, and commuter accounts, 401(k), and financial coaching resources

What We Are Looking For
As a Product Marketing Manager, you will own how Distyl shows up in the market crafting the narrative, enabling our sales team, and building the foundational content that positions Distyl as a leader in enterprise AI for complex customer experience.
You will develop positioning and messaging tailored by vertical, create sales enablement materials that AEs can run independently, and build compelling proof points including case studies, ROI frameworks, and competitive positioning. You will work closely with founders and sales leadership to translate what is resonating in real customer conversations into scalable, repeatable assets that accelerate deal cycles and strengthen Distyl’s market presence.
This role sits at the intersection of product, sales, and go-to-market strategy. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, and Leadership to ensure Distyl’s capabilities are clearly articulated to enterprise buyers and differentiated in a rapidly evolving AI landscape.
This is a hands-on role for a strong writer and operator who can produce polished content themselves not just brief agencies or manage freelancers. You thrive in early-stage environments, enjoy building systems and narratives from scratch, and are comfortable working closely with sales teams rather than operating in a siloed marketing function.
Key Responsibilities
Positioning & Messaging
Develop and own the "Why Distyl" narrative for CX, tailored by vertical
Build competitive positioning against direct competitors and the "build internally" alternative
Continuously evolve messaging based on what's landing in sales conversations and customer feedback
Translate technical capabilities into business value for C-suite and operational leaders
Sales Enablement
Build pitch decks that AEs can run independently without founders in every meeting
Create one-pagers, leave-behinds, battle cards, and objection handling guides
Develop demo talk tracks and supporting materials
Support RFP responses and custom pitch materials for strategic deals
Partner with sellers to understand what's working in conversations and what's missing
Partner with brand and creative to shape website updates and highly designed marketing collateral
Proof Points & Customer Evidence
Develop and maintain customer case studies (sanitized, compelling, reusable)
Build ROI frameworks and value quantification tools that support deal advancement
Establish and manage a customer reference program
Create customer proof points that can be leveraged across sales, marketing, and PR
Content & Thought Leadership
Write white papers, POVs, and thought leadership pieces that establish Distyl's expertise in complex CX and enterprise AI
Create content for the website as we build out inbound capabilities
Ghostwrite for founders when needed on high-visibility content
Market & Competitive Insight
Maintain a strong point of view on the CX AI landscape, buyer priorities, and competitive positioning
Feed market insights into solution packaging, pricing, and GTM strategy
Track competitor messaging, product launches, and market positioning
Who You Are
7-10 years of product marketing experience in B2B enterprise software, ideally AI, data platforms, or complex technical products
Exceptional writing skills—can produce polished, publication-ready decks, one-pagers, and long-form content with minimal oversight
Proven track record working closely with sales teams—not siloed in "marketing"—with materials that actually get used
Experience marketing to enterprise buyers in regulated industries (financial services, insurance, healthcare a strong plus)
Comfortable with technical products and can translate complex capabilities into business value
Able to operate independently while collaborating closely with founders and cross-functional teams
Strong plus if you have experience building or specific ideas for AI-Native Product Marketing
What We Offer
The base salary range for this role is $130K – $180K, depending on experience, location, and level. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for meaningful equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package
100% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance for employee and dependents

What We Are Looking For
At Distyl we’re pushing the envelope of AI utilization in enterprise. This requires creative researchers who don’t just want to drive incremental improvements on benchmarks or optimize an existing process but instead are looking to creatively redefine how software is used.
Our researchers come from many academic backgrounds but have strong research track records, operate in an AI-native way, and would be bored staying on the rails of a traditional research org.
Key Responsibilities
The Benchmarking team defines how progress is measured. Researchers design evaluation frameworks that capture reasoning depth, interaction quality, reliability, and operational impact. They construct benchmarks that reflect real-world complexity. Their systems become the standard by which new architectures, techniques, and releases are judged.
Researchers in Benchmarking explore new paradigms for evaluating intelligent systems: adversarial robustness testing, longitudinal performance tracking, and human-in-the-loop assessment. They investigate how metrics shape model behavior and establish rigorous methodologies for quantifying emergent capability. Their insights drive both Distyl’s internal research priorities and industry-wide standards.
Who You Are
Experience Designing and Running Evaluations: You’ve built or maintained benchmarks, test suites, or experimental frameworks to measure model or system performance
Statistical and Analytical Rigor: You design fair, reproducible experiments and can extract signal from noisy empirical results
Experience Building with Models, Not Just Building Models: We develop intelligent systems using models rather than training or fine-tuning them. Ideal candidates have expertise in compound AI systems, agentic collaboration, and associated techniques (ensembling, ReAct, graph-of-thoughts, etc.)
Proven Track Record of Research Results: Whether you’ve published in top journals, posted amazing work on twitter, or somewhere else we want to see what you've done
Uses AI Every Day: Before you can revolutionize someone else’s workflow, you need to revolutionize yours. You should be using tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, and Perplexity to accelerate your workflow
Strong Programming and Data Analysis Skills: While you might not consider yourself a software engineer you need to be able to build prototypes of your ideas and then perform the experiments to prove the effectiveness to a F500 Head of AI
Biases Towards Showing vs Telling: Our customers want to see the power of AI today vs discuss the most elegant idea that will take 5 years to realize
What We Offer
The base salary range for this role is $150K – $250K, depending on experience, location, and level. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for meaningful equity, along with a comprehensive benefits package

The AI Systems team focuses on designing compound, end-to-end architectures that orchestrate perception, reasoning, planning, and execution. Researchers integrate diverse components (LLMs, retrievers, evaluators, memory systems, and execution agents) into robust, scalable systems that perform reliably across dynamic enterprise workflows.
Researchers in AI Systems investigate the governing principles behind complex system interactions. They study coordination, information flow, and emergent behavior across multiple agents and models. Their work identifies the underlying mechanics of robustness, composability, and alignment, in effect establishing the design language for how intelligent systems should be built.

What We Are Looking For
At Distyl we’re pushing the envelope of AI utilization in enterprise.
The Post-Training team focuses on adapting foundation models to real-world performance and alignment requirements. Researchers develop and evaluate techniques such as supervised fine-tuning, preference optimization (DPO, RLHF, RLAIF), and continual adaptation to align models with Distyl’s enterprise systems. The goal is to bridge raw model capability with trustworthy, contextually aligned system behavior
Researchers in Post-Training investigate new methods for aligning large models with human and system-level objectives. They explore trade-offs between generalization and specialization, data efficiency and robustness, capability and controllability. Their work informs how Distyl leverages foundation models safely, effectively, and at scale across industries
What We Require
Deep Understanding of Post-training Techniques: Familiarity with supervised fine-tuning, preference optimization (RLHF/DPO), LoRA/PEFT, and instruction-tuning pipelines.
Experience Adapting Frontier Models: You’ve tuned or adapted LLMs/SLMs to specialized domains or behaviors through data curation, reward modeling, or continual pretraining.
Experience Building with Models, Not Just Building Models: We develop intelligent systems using models rather than training or fine-tuning them. Ideal candidates have expertise in compound AI systems, agentic collaboration, and associated techniques (ensembling, ReAct, graph-of-thoughts, etc.).
Proven Track Record of Research Results: Whether you’ve published in top journals, posted amazing work on twitter, or somewhere else we want to see what you've done.
Uses AI Every Day: Before you can revolutionize someone else’s workflow, you need to revolutionize yours. You should be using tools like ChatGPT, Cursor, and Perplexity to accelerate your workflow.

Our researchers come from many academic backgrounds but have strong research track records, operate in an AI-native way, and would be bored staying on the rails of a traditional research org.
Key Responsibilities
The System Self-Construction team builds systems that can build other systems. Researchers design architectures capable of autonomously generating, assembling, and refining sub-systems. This involves developing meta-learning loops, automated pipeline generation, and self-architecting frameworks that reduce the human bottleneck in complex system creation.
Researchers in Self-Construction study recursive design principles: how systems represent their own construction processes, evaluate them, and evolve. They draw from meta-learning, program synthesis, and evolutionary computation to explore what it means for a system to “understand” and redesign itself. Their work defines the frontier of self-referential, generative system architectures.
Who We Are
Experience Building Modular and Composable Systems: You’ve engineered architectures where components interact dynamically (e.g. graph-based planners, agent orchestration frameworks, workflow engines, or automated pipeline builders).

Our researchers come from many academic backgrounds but have strong research track records, operate in an AI-native way, and would be bored staying on the rails of a traditional research org.
Key Responsibilities
The System Self-Improvement team builds architectures that continuously evaluate and enhance their own performance. Researchers design feedback-driven systems capable of detecting weaknesses, generating corrective hypotheses, and implementing their own improvements through reflection, retraining, or workflow adaptation. The goal: build AI systems that compound in capability through use.
Researchers in Self-Improvement study how systems can form self-models—understanding when, why, and how they succeed or fail. They explore reflective reasoning, reward modeling, and self-evaluation techniques to enable autonomous evolution. This work bridges reinforcement learning, interpretability, and meta-optimization to pioneer continuously learning enterprise systems.
Who You Are
Experience Building Feedback-Driven Systems: You’ve built or studied systems that monitor, score, and adapt—evaluators, retrievers, iterative refinement loops, or performance dashboards that close the feedback loop.
