Forward was founded in 2013 by four Stanford Ph.D.s, building the industry's first network digital twin: a mathematically accurate model of the production network. It's the foundation for autonomous networking, giving engineers and AI agents the ability to know the impact of every change before it touches production. That founding instinct still defines how we work. We're accurate and evidence-driven, relentless about clarity, and we'd rather be certain than comfortable, building a groundbreaking platform that transforms how teams run and secure networks across every major cloud and vendor environment.
Global leaders like Goldman Sachs, PayPal, S&P Global, IBM, and Dell trust Forward, alongside fast-growing enterprises and government agencies, realizing an average of $14.2 million in annual benefits, according to IDC. Backed by top-tier investors, including A. Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Goldman Sachs, MSD Partners, Omega Venture Partners, Section 32, and Threshold Ventures, and headquartered in Santa Clara, we're most proud of our team: curious people who'd rather build what doesn't exist than accept how things have always been done.

Forward is looking for an experienced Senior Revenue Systems Analyst to join our Revenue Operations team. Reporting to our Sales Operations Manager, you'll act as an additional pair of hands and set of eyes across our Salesforce environment and sales-adjacent tools — supporting day-to-day administration, reporting and analytics, integrations, and vendor relationships.
This role is designed to complement and extend our existing Salesforce expertise. You should be able to step in with minimal ramp. You are fluent in declarative development, understand the Sales and Revenue Cloud (CPQ) data models, and are comfortable partnering with various GTM teams. You'll work directly with our primary Salesforce owner to keep our go-to-market systems running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Administration: Own day-to-day admin tasks — user and license management, profiles and permission sets, page layouts, record types, validation rules, and ongoing data hygiene across the org.
Declarative Development: Build and maintain scalable, no-code/low-code solutions (Flow, formula fields, dynamic forms, approval processes) to support evolving go-to-market processes.
Sales Processes: Support opportunity management, pipeline and forecasting processes, quote-to-cash flows, and the systems that carry deals from qualified opportunity through close.
Reporting & Analytics: Build and maintain reports and dashboards in Salesforce, giving Sales, RevOps, and leadership clear visibility into pipeline, forecast, and revenue metrics.
Integrations & Data Flow: Help maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot integrations between Salesforce and connected systems (Hubspot, commissions, data enrichment, CS platforms, and ERP).
Vendor & Tool Management: Work with third-party vendors and app providers to evaluate, implement, and support tools across the sales tech stack (e.g., commissions administration in CaptivateIQ, revenue intelligence using Gong).
Project Support: Partner with the senior admin/architect on larger initiatives — requirements gathering, build, testing, documentation, and rollout.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Translate business needs from Sales, Finance, Customer Success, and Marketing into practical, scalable Salesforce solutions.
Qualifications
4+ years of hands-on Salesforce administration experience, ideally supporting a Revenue Operations, Sales Ops, or broader GTM systems function.
Salesforce Administrator certification required; Advanced Administrator or additional certifications strongly preferred.
A track record of operating independently — able to take ownership of requests end-to-end with minimal ramp.
Core Salesforce Skills
Strong command of declarative development — Flow, validation rules, formula fields, permission sets, dynamic forms — without reliance on custom code.
Deep working knowledge of the Sales Cloud and Revenue Cloud (CPQ) data models, and how the objects connect across the opportunity and quote-to-cash lifecycle.
Proven ability to build reports and dashboards, with comfort in data analysis and maintaining data quality.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with Service Cloud and its data model.
Experience with Gong or similar revenue intelligence platforms — forecasting, activity tracking, and conversational intelligence.
Experience supporting post-sales / Customer Success operations (renewals, expansion, health scoring).
Experience in building or administering partner portals in Salesforce PRM or equivalent including deal registration and channel-facing workflows.
Familiarity with a broader sales tech stack (e.g., Tableau, CaptivateIQ or other commissions tools, marketing automation, sales engagement platforms).
Familiarity using AI to extend and scale operational capabilities.
Familiarity with Apex/SOQL
The base pay range for this role is between $135,000 and $155,000. Base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Forward is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer
About the Role This is not a "keep the lights on" SRE role. As our first or early SRE hire you will be building the reliability engineering function at Forward — defining how we think about availability, observability, incident response, and operational excellence across a complex, distributed SaaS platform. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and product to ensure our platform meets the reliability bar our enterprise customers demand.
If you thrive in environments where you're handed a problem rather than a playbook this role is for you.
What You'll Own
Define and drive SRE practices from the ground up — SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, and the frameworks the engineering org will actually use
Drive the reliability and operational excellence of the Forward SaaS platform
Build and maintain observability infrastructure — logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting — so the team always knows what's happening before customers do
Lead incident response: on-call rotations, runbooks, post-mortems, and the follow-through to make sure the same incident doesn't happen twice
Partner with engineering teams to embed reliability thinking into the SDLC — capacity planning, load testing, chaos engineering, and production readiness reviews
Help define and build the SRE team as the company scales — this is a foundational hire with a path to leadership
What We're Looking For
6+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering in a SaaS or cloud environment
Proven experience building or significantly maturing an SRE function — not just operating within one someone else built
Strong fundamentals in networking — TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, and load balancing. Experience with network management or observability platforms is a significant plus
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production environments
Deep proficiency with observability tooling — Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or similar
Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or similar
Experience with cloud platforms — AWS, GCP, or Azure — including infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent)
Track record of owning and improving incident response processes including blameless post-mortems and SLO-driven reliability improvements
Ability to communicate clearly with both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders — you can explain an outage to a customer-facing team without jargon and explain an SLO to an executive without losing them
Nice to Have
Experience supporting enterprise or federal government customers with high availability requirements
Experience in a foundational or early SRE hire capacity at a growth stage company
What This Role Is Not
A pure ops or NOC role — you are building and engineering, not just monitoring
A siloed function — you will be deeply embedded with product and engineering teams

Federal-Business Development Representative
VA / Washington DC area
Apply
Forward is looking for a Business Development Representative to join our Federal team.
Key Responsibilities
Targeted Prospecting: Identify and engage decision-makers at Federal accounts using a mix of phone, email, LinkedIn, and creative outreach in partnership with Regional Sales Directors in your territory.
Pipeline Generation: Develop a steady flow of qualified opportunities for Regional Sales Directors by booking discovery calls and demos.
Account Research: Conduct research on target accounts and personas to tailor messaging and outreach to their business challenges and industry context.
Messaging & Education: Clearly articulate Forward Networks’s value proposition and educate the prospects on the value of a digital twin.
Collaboration: Partner with Sales and Marketing to execute account-based strategies and provide feedback on market trends and prospect needs.
CRM Discipline: Maintain accurate records of all activities in Salesforce, ensuring visibility into pipeline activity and performance.
Continuous Learning: Stay up to date on Forward Networks’s platform and the dynamic changes in the networking, security and cloud infrastructure space.
Qualifications
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in outbound Business Development, business development, or lead generation within the federal government. Knowledge of computer networking, security, SaaS or data/technology industry experience preferred.
Skills:
Excellent communication, persuasion, and storytelling skills.
Strong ability to research and personalize outreach for executives and technical stakeholders.
Persistence, resilience, and creativity in outbound prospecting.
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage high activity levels.
Tools: Familiarity with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, SalesLoft/Outreach, and other prospecting tools.
Mindset: Competitive, goal-oriented, coachable, and eager to grow into an Account Executive role.
The expected On-Target Cash Earnings for this role is between $95,000-$115,00 per year. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors including but not limited to, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education/training

It's the foundation for autonomous networking, giving engineers and AI agents the ability to know the impact of every change before it touches production.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced VP of Customer Success to architect Forward's customer success function with a clear mandate: drive adoption and grow revenue inside our existing accounts. You'll own the post-sale customer journey end to end — onboarding, adoption, retention, and expansion — and the metrics that come with it (net revenue retention, gross retention, product adoption, and expansion pipeline).
You'll personally be involved with our most important accounts helping to understand challenges they are facing and how our products and services can help drive value inside their organizations. You’ll work collaboratively with your other peer leaders in the revenue and GTM organizations to architect the function across various customer segments and define roles & responsibilities to scale the function.
What You'll Do
Own adoption and time-to-value. Build the onboarding and adoption motion that gets customers to value fast and keeps them using Forward as part of how they work. Design change management frameworks for our customers to transform how they manage their networks.
Drive net revenue retention. Own NRR and GRR as your headline numbers. Identify expansion opportunities, run renewals proactively, and turn healthy usage into growth.
Build CS playbooks. Define the customer journey, segmentation, health scoring, success plans, QBR cadence, and the lifecycle motions for each stage.
Stand up the tooling and signals. Evaluate our current CS tools, platforms and analytics; and evolve them to support the future vision of the function.
Engage with the most important accounts. Be the trusted advisor to Forward's key customers, tying their business outcomes to product value.
Reduce churn and de-risk renewals. Build an early-warning system for at-risk accounts and a clear play to recover them.
Close the product feedback loop. Be the voice of the customer to Product and Engineering in partnership with Pre-Sales engineering, turning usage patterns and customer needs into roadmap influence.
Partner cross-functionally. Work with Sales on smooth handoffs and expansion, with Product on adoption blockers, and with Marketing on advocacy, references, and case studies.
Build the team. As the motion scales, hire, onboard, and lead a customer success team.
What We're Looking For
12+ years in customer success, with at least 6+ years in leadership, including hands-on account ownership, not just program management.
Experience in Networking or Security tools.
Proven experience building the CS function — you've built or substantially scaled a CS function, ideally at a startup or small team where you didn't have existing playbooks or tooling to lean on.
A track record of driving adoption and expansion — measurable NRR/GRR improvement, reduced churn, and revenue grown inside the existing base.
Strong commercial instincts — you're comfortable owning a number and spotting and closing expansion, not just keeping customers happy.
Coaching mentality — you’ve demonstrated that you know how to develop and grow your people.
Data fluency — you use usage data and health signals to prioritize and act, not just react.
Comfort with ambiguity and a builder's bias — you create a process where none exists and move fast.
Excellent communication — credible with a customer's executive sponsor and their day-to-day users alike.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with CS platforms and tooling (e.g., Gainsight, Catalyst, Vitally, ChurnZero) and product analytics.
A background that blends customer success with account management, renewals or sales, given the expansion focus.
The expected On-Target Cash Earnings for this role is between $360,000-$380,000 per year. Within this range, individual pay is determined by several factors including but not limited to, job-related skills, work experience, and relevant education/training
