Through advanced diagnostics, deep biomarker testing, longitudinal data, and AI-enabled insights, Function equips hundreds of thousands of members with the intelligence to take control of both the quality and length of their lives. Function has been recognized as one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2024 and is venture-backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z, with a recently announced $298M Series B.
Function's Imaging Team powers one of the most advanced cancer screening platforms in the world, offering AI-driven MRI scans across 13 organs at 180+ imaging facilities in 150+ cities across the US and abroad. This infrastructure sits at the core of Function's mission to move healthcare from reactive to proactive, and is scaling rapidly as part of the company's next chapter of growth.
We are building a world-class team that believes deeply in that mission, operates with a relentless bias toward action, and brings the technical rigor to match the ambition.
Role Overview
At Function Health, we’re building a next-generation imaging network where clinical precision meets operational excellence. As an MRI Specialist, you will serve as a central force in elevating imaging quality across all partnered imaging facilities.
This is not a traditional technologist role. You will operate at the intersection of clinical expertise, systems optimization, and education. From designing and standardizing protocols to solving complex safety scenarios and mentoring technologists, your work will directly shape the quality and consistency of MRI across a multi-site, multi-vendor environment.
This hybrid role combines remote clinical oversight with on-site engagement, including travel to onboard new facilities and ensuring sustained imaging excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Onboarding: Onboard new imaging sites, including protocol implementation and hands-on technologist training
- Protocol Optimization & Image Quality: Review and refine MRI protocols across multiple vendors (Siemens, GE, Philips, Canon, etc.) Optimize scan parameters to achieve superior image quality while maintaining efficiency. Drive standardization while adapting to site-specific constraints
- MRI Safety & Risk Management: Evaluate implant and device cases to ensure MRI safety. Promote and uphold MRI safety best practices across all sites
- Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement: Conduct routine image quality audits and protocol reviews. Track and improve key performance metrics, including repeat rates, scan quality, and protocol adherence. Identify trends and implement solutions to elevate clinical performance
- Education & Training: Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, and internal knowledge resources. Build structured training programs for technologists across partner sites.
- Data & Workflow Optimization: Have DICOM and imaging workflow knowledge to troubleshoot and streamline data transfer issues. Partner with internal teams to improve interoperability, efficiency, and system reliability
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, technical and medical teams to continuously improve imaging workflows and outcomes
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience as an MRI Technologist
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification
- Strong expertise in MRI protocols and image optimization
- Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Proven ability to adapt across diverse clinical environments and systems
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to clinical excellence and MRI safety
Preferred Background
- Experience working with at least two MRI vendors (e.g. Siemens, GE, Philips, United, etc)
- MR Safety Officer (MRSO) certification
- CT experience is a plus
- Comfortable with a hybrid schedule of working from home with ~30–40% travel
Why This Role Stands Out
This role is designed for MRI technologists who want to move beyond the console and into system-level impact. You’ll help define how MRI is performed, taught, and scaled across a growing network, influencing both clinical quality and operational excellence.
If you’re the kind of person who notices when a sequence could be 15% better, enjoys solving complex imaging puzzles, and takes pride in raising the bar for everyone around you, you’ll feel right at home here.

Company Overview:
Function Health is the AI operating system for health, designed to empower people to live 100 healthy years. We are redefining how individuals understand, measure, and improve their health by moving beyond the limitations of traditional care and enabling comprehensive, continuous insight into human biology. Function has been recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2024, and is venture-backed by Redpoint and other leading venture firms. Over half a million members have joined Function to take control of their health.
Through comprehensive lab testing, MRI and CT imaging, longitudinal data, and guidance from AI and clinical teams, Function gives members a complete and continuous view of their health — and the clarity to act on it. Through acquisitions across imaging, mobile phlebotomy, and supplement tracking and optimization, Function is building an integrated health platform that spans the full path from testing to health clarity to daily action.
Function recently announced a $298M Series B and is entering its next chapter of growth. As we scale, the quality and durability of our People systems, data, and insights will directly shape our ability to attract, retain, and support exceptional talent.
We are growing our team and seeking out world-class talent that deeply believes in our mission to positively impact global health, has a relentless bias toward action, and a growth mindset. Function fosters a collaborative and dynamic environment where every day we build the future.
Role:
We're seeking a Senior Content Designer to own the voice of Function across product and member communication—a sharp thinker who understands that great copy doesn't fill space, it earns trust.
This isn't a role for someone who steps in after the UX decisions are made. You're in the room where those decisions happen, shaping how Function thinks, speaks, and connects at every touchpoint. You’ll collaborate closely with Product Design and PMM teams to ensure that every piece of copy feels simple and supportive, and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
You write with clarity and conviction and know the difference between copy that explains and copy that moves. You can hold the brand voice at scale while tuning to context—a lab result summary reads differently than an onboarding moment, which reads differently than a paywall. You hold all of it with coherence.
AI is a new content material, and we treat it that way. This role requires someone who has already internalized that shift.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and are deeply motivated by Function's mission—we'd love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product copy across all touchpoints including in-app flows, onboarding, member communications, notifications, action plans, empty states, error handling, and more
- Brand voice stewardship: define, evolve, and defend Function's voice across surfaces and contributors
- Cross-functional collaboration with Design, Product, and Clinical to ensure copy is accurate, human, and on-brand. Always flagging inconsistencies, and raising copy-related edge cases early in the process
- UX writing upstream of design decisions. You’ll shape the full experience
- Data-informed iteration such as A/B testing, member feedback, and performance data as tools for continuous improvement
- Editorial review: You’ll raise the standard of copy org-wide, not just your own output
Qualifications/Skills:
- 5+ years of UX writing or product copywriting experience, ideally in a consumer health, wellness, or complex-product context with a portfolio that demonstrates range
- Fluency across copy types with a consistent quality across all of them: in-product flows, email, campaign headlines, onboarding, error states
- Strong instinct for voice and tone calibration. You can write warmly and precisely for a member reading a sensitive health result, and sharply for a conversion moment, knowing which is which
- Experience in health, wellness, or clinical tech is a meaningful differentiator: comfort with medical terminology, regulatory constraints, and high-stakes information hierarchies
- Collaborative by default. You work closely with designers, PMs, and clinicians, and make the work better through that friction
- Comfort working directly in Figma, managing your own workload across multiple concurrent projects, and writing copy that doesn't need a lot of hand-holding to land.
- You have an AI-native mindset, understanding how LLMs generate language, where they produce noise, and how to work with and around them deliberately
- You use AI tooling actively. Claude, Cursor, or equivalent — to accelerate ideation, draft generation, and iteration without sacrificing voice quality
- You can design content for agentic experiences. You've thought carefully about how a product communicates when the system is doing the work, not just responding to a prompt
- You think critically about AI-generated copy: you know when it's useful scaffolding and when it's eroding the voice, and can act accordingly
*Please share a portfolio of work in order to be considered
