We're responsible for securing every byte that powers breakthrough artificial intelligence.
Reporting to the CISO, you'll lead the Detection & Response team that acts as an intelligent backstop—ensuring Lambda is the safest place to build with AI by catching security issues in real-time while enabling our business to move at hypergrowth velocity. Your team will transform reactive security operations into a proactive threat management engine, dedicating the majority of their effort to automation, threat hunting, and capability building rather than constant firefighting.
Your team will directly affect customers’ trust in the safety of their data by implementing enterprise-grade detection capabilities, automating incident response workflows, and hardening our multi-cloud and bare metal infrastructure while you are building sustainable programs where senior engineers thrive solving novel security challenges. With unique access to LLMs hosted on our own infrastructure, your team will pioneer AI-powered security solutions that wouldn't be possible anywhere else. Key priorities include 24/7 operational coverage, maintaining customer trust through rapid incident response, and delivering a comprehensive D&R strategy within your first 6 months.

Team Leadership & Management:
- Build, hire, and lead a high-performing Detection & Response team that can scale with Lambda's hypergrowth while maintaining 24/7 operational excellence

Technical Strategy & Execution:
- Define and implement threat management frameworks that transform reactive security operations into proactive threat hunting and detection, establishing automation standards that eliminate repetitive work and enable your team to focus on novel challenges
- Architect incident response processes, escalation frameworks, and triage protocols that protect Lambda from impact while scaling with the company’s growth
- Guide technology choices and evangelize new security tools, including pioneering AI-powered detection capabilities using our direct access to state-of-the-art LLMs
Strategic Collaboration & Business Impact:
- Create data-driven insights showing where we are reacting most frequently to guide investments in preventative controls
- Partner with Product and Platform engineering teams to evolve our detection and response capabilities as Lambda’s infrastructure grows
- Lead cross-functional collaboration during critical events and establish executive reporting that translates technical incidents into business impact while driving blameless post-incident reviews to continuously strengthen security posture
Operational Excellence & Scaling:
- Drive weekly operations reviews that ensure nothing falls through the cracks while building institutional knowledge and defining repeatable processes from every incident
- Define sustainable on-call rotations and operational procedures that maintain 24/7 coverage without burning out senior engineers
- Establish the team's 6-month strategic roadmap for comprehensive D&R capabilities while defining success criteria and measurable outcomes

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commodity Sourcing Manager to own sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, and supply assurance for critical commodities across our rapidly growing AI Data Center Supply Chain.
This individual contributor role owns the end-to-end commercial and sourcing relationship for a defined commodity or set of commodities within the AI compute ecosystem — spanning categories such as custom silicon, GPUs/CPUs, network hardware, power and cooling infrastructure (CDUs, PDUs, racks), and memory/storage. Commodity assignments will flex based on business need, and the ideal candidate is a versatile sourcing professional capable of ramping quickly across the full range of hardware that goes into a GPU rack, rather than a specialist in a single technology domain.
You will drive negotiations, manage supplier performance, and build sourcing strategies that ensure supply continuity, cost competitiveness, and scalability as our infrastructure grows. The ideal candidate combines strong general technical fluency across hardware and infrastructure components with sharp commercial instincts — equally comfortable running a multi-million to multi-billion-dollar negotiation as they are digging into component-level technical detail with engineering partners, regardless of the underlying technology.
You will work closely with Engineering, Hardware, Data Center Infrastructure, Supply Chain Planning, Finance, Legal, and Operations to secure supply, optimize commercial terms, and manage risk across your assigned commodities.
What You’ll Do
Commodity Sourcing Strategy
- Own and execute sourcing strategy for assigned commodities within the AI infrastructure stack, which may include custom silicon, GPUs/CPUs, network hardware, power/cooling infrastructure, memory/storage, or other hardware categories that go into a GPU rack.
- Develop category strategies aligned to roadmap requirements, capacity forecasts, and long-term infrastructure growth, regardless of the specific technology domain.
- Identify and drive supply diversification, second-source development, and risk mitigation plans for constrained or fast-scaling categories.
- Build and maintain market intelligence across assigned commodities, including supply/demand dynamics, capacity constraints, technology roadmaps, and competitive landscape.
- Quickly ramp technical and market fluency in new commodity areas as business needs and assignments evolve.
Commercial Negotiation & Contracting
- Lead commercial negotiations with hardware and component suppliers, including:
- Master supply and purchase agreements
- Capacity commitments and allocation frameworks
- Pricing, cost-downs, and cost structures
- Non-recurring engineering (NRE) and design/tooling agreements
- Service, quality, and performance terms
- Build and execute negotiation strategies that balance cost, supply security, and flexibility, applying consistent commercial rigor across different commodity types.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to structure and finalize contracts and commercial terms.
Supplier Management
- Manage day-to-day and executive-level relationships with strategic suppliers across assigned commodities.
- Lead supplier business reviews, scorecards, escalation management, and performance improvement plans.
- Partner with suppliers on capacity planning, allocation, roadmap alignment, and supply readiness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and escalation owner for assigned commodities.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PARTNERSHIP
- Partner with Engineering and Hardware teams to translate technical and roadmap requirements into sourcing and commercial strategies, regardless of the underlying technology.
- Work with Supply Chain Planning to align supplier capacity and lead times with demand forecasts.
- Support new product introductions, qualification timelines, and capacity ramps across GPU rack-level hardware.
- Provide commodity market insight and recommendations to leadership on sourcing risk, cost trends, and supply strategy.
Risk, Cost & Supply Resilience
- Develop and maintain supply continuity plans that address:
- Cost optimization
- Capacity availability and allocation risk
- Lead-time and component-level constraints
- Geographic and geopolitical risk
- Supplier financial and operational risk
- Proactively identify and mitigate supply risk across assigned commodities, adapting risk frameworks to the specific dynamics of each category.
You
- 8+ years of experience in Commodity Management, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain roles, with experience across one or more hardware or component categories relevant to data center or compute infrastructure (e.g., semiconductors, networking, power/cooling, memory/storage, mechanical/electrical systems).
- Demonstrated experience negotiating and managing supply agreements with hardware component manufacturers, OEMs, or ODMs.
- Ability to quickly build technical fluency in new commodity or technology areas.
- Proven track record leading complex commercial negotiations and delivering measurable cost and supply outcomes.
- Strong analytical, financial, and business acumen.
- Experience operating in constrained, long-lead-time, high-growth supply environments.
- Ability to build effective relationships with senior supplier stakeholders and internal cross-functional partners.
Nice To Have
- Experience sourcing across multiple commodity types within AI/ML or hyperscale data center infrastructure (e.g., silicon, networking, power/cooling, memory/storage).
- Demonstrated versatility moving between commodity domains over the course of a career, rather than deep specialization in a single technology.
- Experience supporting hyperscale data center or AI infrastructure programs.
- Background partnering with hardware/systems engineering teams on NRE, qualification, or co-development agreements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field; advanced degree a plus.

What You’ll Do
As a Construction Administrator, you will be the back-office backbone of Lambda’s data center build program. You will take in contractor schedules, submittals, drawings, RFIs, and change documentation across a portfolio of concurrent projects and turn them into a single clean, current, and trustworthy picture of where every project stands.
You will distill dense contractor schedules into the milestone views leadership actually uses, maintain rigorous document control across the full project lifecycle, and run the reporting cadence that keeps the DCIE team, our data center providers, and our contractors aligned. This role reports to the Data Center Implementation Manager and works daily with the Implementation Project Managers, field teams, procurement, and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule Distillation & Analysis:
- Ingest contractor and vendor schedules across multiple concurrent projects. Extract critical path, key milestones, long-lead deliveries, and float consumption, and roll them into consolidated program-level and executive-level schedule views. Flag slippage, sequencing conflicts, and milestone risk before they surface in the field.
- Master Schedule Maintenance:
- Maintain Lambda’s integrated program schedule and milestone tracker. Reconcile contractor updates against baseline, maintain revision history, and keep OFCI delivery dates, commissioning windows, and capacity ready-for-service dates aligned.
- Document Control:
- Own the project document control system end to end: drawing registers, specifications, submittal logs, RFI logs, transmittals, meeting minutes, permits, inspection records, and as-builts. Enforce naming conventions, revision control, and access permissions so every stakeholder is working from the current set.
- Submittal & RFI Administration:
- Log, route, and track submittals and RFIs to the correct internal reviewers. Monitor turnaround against contractual review windows, chase overdue responses, and maintain a clean audit trail of decisions and approvals.
- Change & Cost Documentation:
- Track change orders, change directives, and potential change items from initiation through disposition. Maintain supporting documentation and reconcile the change log against budget trackers, purchase orders, and invoices in coordination with procurement and finance.
- Reporting Cadence:
- Produce the recurring reporting package: weekly project status reports, milestone dashboards, open-item and risk registers, and monthly program summaries for executive leadership. Ensure figures tie out across schedule, cost, and field reporting.
- Meeting & Action Item Support:
- Prepare agendas and materials for OAC, design review, and page-turn meetings. Capture minutes and decisions, publish action items with owners and due dates, and drive follow-through to closure.
- Records, Turnover & Closeout:
- Assemble and quality-check closeout packages including as-builts, O&M manuals, warranties, commissioning reports, and training records. Ensure complete and timely handoff to Data Center Operations and Facilities.
- Systems & Process Ownership:
- Administer and improve the project management and documentation platforms used by DCIE. Build templates, trackers, and automated reporting that reduce manual effort and standardize how projects are run.
- Standards Library Management:
- Maintain Lambda’s controlled library of Basis of Design documents, standard details, specifications, and internal procedures, keeping versions current and accessible across the team.
- Cross-functional Support:
- Support Network Engineering, Data Center Operations, HPC, Supply Chain, and TPM with accurate schedule and documentation inputs so downstream deployment planning is built on current data.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experienced in construction administration, project controls, or document control on complex construction or critical infrastructure programs.
- Able to read a contractor schedule critically rather than just repackage it, understanding logic ties, float, critical path, and where a schedule is telling an optimistic story.
- Genuinely organized, with a strong instinct for version control, naming discipline, and single sources of truth.
- Comfortable with construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFIs, and with the vocabulary of MEP and mission-critical work.
- Strong with data and reporting tools, able to turn scattered inputs into a clean dashboard without a week of manual assembly.
- Persistent and diplomatic in chasing overdue responses from contractors, vendors, and internal reviewers.
- Clear written communicator who can summarize status for executives without losing the detail that matters.

Qualifications

- 4+ years of experience in construction administration, project controls, document control, or project coordination, ideally on data center or mission-critical projects.
- Working knowledge of construction schedules, including critical path method, milestones, float, and lookahead planning.
- Familiarity with construction documentation workflows: drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout packages.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 or MS Project, plus documentation and collaboration platforms (e.g., Procore, Smartsheet, SharePoint, Google Workspace, Jira, Monday.com http://Monday.com).
- Advanced spreadsheet skills, with the ability to build clean trackers, pivots, and reporting views. Experience with dashboarding or light automation is a plus.
- Strong written communication and documentation skills, with attention to accuracy and consistency.
- Highly organized, able to manage competing deadlines across multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of MEP systems and construction sequencing sufficient to interpret technical documents and ask the right questions.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to data center sites (~15%) for turnover, closeout, or program milestones.
