LayerZero
The Future is Omnichain.
Founded in 2021, LayerZero’s vision is to create a community of cross-chain developers, building dApps that are no longer constrained by individual blockchain capabilities. With LayerZero's simple, generic messaging protocol, builders will develop cross-chain dApps designed to unify the power of individual blockchains.
We are funded by the best investors in the world including:
a16z, Sequoia, PayPal, Binance Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, Uniswap Labs, Circle Ventures, Delphi Digital, and many more.
ABOUT THE ROLE
LayerZero is redefining how value moves across chains at internet scale. Our Finance team is a strategic partner to the business — turning data into decisions that shape how we invest, hire, and grow.
We’re looking for a Strategic Finance Lead to help build the financial operating system for LayerZero. This person will partner closely with the CFO and executive team on planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and financial decision-making across the company. This person will partner closely with the CFO and executive team on planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and financial decision-making across the company.
You’ll own the company’s core operating model, lead planning and reforecasting cycles, build reporting for leadership and the board, and bring financial rigor to major investment decisions. This is a high-impact role on a small finance team, ideal for someone who has operated in high-growth environments and wants to build the Strategic Finance function from an early stage.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Own Company-Wide Planning & Forecasting
Lead the annual operating plan, long-range plan, quarterly reforecasts, and monthly outlooks across the company.
Own the integrated three-statement and driver-based operating model — the source of truth for budget, forecast, and scenario work.
Run the cadence: planning calendar, target-setting, allocation, and approval workflows with the CFO and executive team.
CFO-Level Business Partnership
Partner directly with executive and functional leaders (Engineering, Product, Marketing, BD, G&A) on resource allocation, headcount strategy, and major investment decisions.
Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews — own the narrative, the variance story, and the forward-looking call to action.
Pressure-test strategic initiatives, new product investments, and potential inorganic opportunities with financial rigor and clear ROI framing.
Board, Investor & Executive Reporting
Lead preparation of board materials, investor updates, and executive operating reviews.
Own KPI definitions and reporting across the company — ensure the leadership team is operating from a shared set of numbers.
Build the company’s financial narrative for internal and external audiences.
Crypto-Native Strategic Finance
Build the financial framework for token economics, on-chain revenue, ecosystem incentives, and digital asset flows.
Partner with Accounting, Treasury, and Legal on token compensation programs and capital strategy.
Develop scenario models that capture the growth profile of an omnichain protocol company.
Build the Strategic Finance Function
Build the strategic finance function, including hiring and development talent as the team scales.
Stand up the planning tech stack — ERP, EPM/planning tool, BI — and the data pipelines that feed them.
Define the financial operating system: cadence, templates, ownership, and standards that scale with the company.
Raise the analytical bar across the business and build a culture of financial discipline.
ABOUT YOU
4-8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting; meaningful in-house experience at a high-growth tech, fintech, or crypto company required.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math, or a related quantitative field. MBA, CFA, or CPA a plus.
Demonstrated experience owning a company-wide planning cycle and partnering with C-suite stakeholders.
Best-in-class financial modeling — you’ve built and maintained the operating model that the CFO and CEO rely on.
Proven people leadership — you’ve hired, managed, and developed strategic finance talent.
Strong executive presence and communication; able to drive a room of senior stakeholders to a decision.
Deep experience with NetSuite (or comparable ERP) and modern planning tools (Anaplan, Pigment, Cube, Mosaic, Adaptive, or similar).
SQL or BI tool fluency (Looker, Tableau, Hex) strongly preferred.
Genuine interest in crypto, blockchain, and the LayerZero mission; exposure to token models, on-chain data, or digital asset accounting a strong plus.
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, multi-entity environments — you bring structure where there is none.
Track record of building — you’ve stood up an Strategic Finance function or a meaningful piece of one from scratch.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for an Engineering Operations Lead to join our Engineering team. This is a dynamic role that combines elements of operations, strategic support, and organizational management. You’ll play a crucial role in helping to streamline business processes, assist with key product launches, and manage the operational rhythm of the Engineering org.
The Engineering Operations Lead is designed to be a strategic enabler for this mission. By owning the operational backbone of our Engineering team and serving as the key operator for the org, you will remove friction, improve execution speed, and ensure Engineering teams operate at peak performance. You will serve as the connective tissue between Engineering and its cross-functional partners, abstracting away internal complexity so the team can focus on what it does best: shipping.
This is an operations and strategy role. You own the systems, data, and cadence that let the org run itself. Build the rigor and structure that scale with the team, not chasing individual tasks.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Core Business Strategy
Strategic Advisory: Serve as a strategic advisor to the CTO, Engineering Leadership and Product Leads. Provide hands-on advisory across internal process design, team organizational op model, data insights and day-to-day operational decision making. You’ll ensure the team is executing on its strategic priorities throughout the year.
Data-Driven Insights: Deliver analysis that helps inform team performance, productivity metrics, weekly readouts, and key areas of optimization.
Priortization Framework: Build and maintain the frameworks that help Engineering focus capacity on the highest-impact initiatives and make clear, defensible trade-offs when priorities compete.
POKR Management & Tracking: Oversee and track Engineering OKRs, ensuring alignment with the company’s long-term vision and strategy; surface trends, flag risks, and keep priorities on course.
Operational Execution
Operating Cadence & Delivery: Run the operational rhythm of the org including planning cycles, milestone & dependency tracking, and delivery visibility. Ensure commitments are clear and the team consistently hits its objectives.
Dashboards & Reporting: Build and maintain dashboards that make goals, progress, and delivery health visible to leadership and teams.
ENG Operations Management: Handle day-to-day Engineering operations, including Linear initiatives and projects, deadline management, and project prioritization, to ensure the team meets its objectives efficiently. You will own Linear end-to-end as the org’s source of structure for work management.
Process Design & Automation: Identify and close operational gaps across the delivery lifecycle through improved workflows and automation, building scalable processes from the ground up.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with other Operations leads and act as the operational bridge between Engineering and its cross-functional partners (Product, BD, Finance, Legal, Marketing).
ENG Ops Trainings: Develop and run training sessions for the Engineering team, empowering them with the tools and processes needed to succeed.
WHO YOU ARE
5+ years of experience in business operations, engineering operations, or a similar function. Ideally within a FinTech, high-growth tech startup, or Web3 environment.
Deep understanding of how engineering organizations run: operating-model design, prioritization frameworks, operating cadence, and execution systems.
Proven ability to build and improve operational processes from the ground up (SOPs, automation, cross-functional workflows).
Strong analytical skills with experience building dashboards, performance reports, and data-driven recommendations.
Excellent cross-functional communication. You thrive as the connective tissue between Engineering, BD, Finance, Legal, Product, and Marketing.
Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership and ambiguity.
Hands-on familiarity with Linear (or a comparable execution / issue-tracking system) and modern operational tooling.
Experience supporting or partnering closely with executive leadership is a strong plus.

Develop scalable policies for digital asset accounting in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
Tax, Audit & Compliance
Own relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and external partners.
Lead annual audits, reviews, and compliance processes across jurisdictions.

Design and implement scalable accounting processes, controls, and policies.
Identify risks, gaps, and inefficiencies — and proactively solve them.
Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
10–15+ years of experience in accounting, with a mix of public accounting and in-house leadership experience; CPA required
Strong expertise in US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Experience leading accounting in a multi-entity, high-growth environment
Deep experience with NetSuite and scaling close processes
Proven ability to build and manage high-performing teams
Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
Strong judgment and ability to navigate complex transactions
Clear communicator who can explain accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders
Experience at a high-growth tech, fintech, or crypto-native company
