About PactFi
Private asset markets (PE, Private Credit, VC, Real Estate) have 10x to 9.8T in AUM over the past decade and are projected to grow to $17T in the next five years. However, digital infrastructure has not kept pace, with most of the market operating predominantly in error-prone, internal-only software solutions.
PactFi provides secure, end-to-end, operational infrastructure for managing complex private credit transactions. Our web-based application brings together all parties involved in such a transaction to more efficiently allocate capital, complete KYC, share documents, manage funds flow, and more. The platform is secured to a bank-grade standard, and we have received our SOC 2 Type 2 attestation.
PactFi was developed in close partnership with two of the industry's largest players, both of whom represent the top 3 players in the private credit space by both size (AUM) and deal activity.
PactFi is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to act as technical lead for a product squad. We're looking for a generalist builder, someone who can pick up whatever the problem requires, ship it, and bring the team with them. This is a hands-on role: you'll spend most of your time building and reviewing code, and the rest raising the level of everyone around you.
You'll set technical direction for your area, grow the engineers around you, and partner with the Head of Engineering, Product Managers, and QA to turn business goals into shipped software. We care far more about your judgment, breadth, and track record of delivery than about any specific language or framework. This is a technical leadership track with up to 2 direct reports (optional).
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Design, build, and ship full-stack features end to end (data model, API, and interface) owning them from architecture through production support.
- Set and enforce technical standards for your area: architecture patterns, API design, testing strategy, and documentation.
- Lead design discussions and make pragmatic trade-off calls across performance, security, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Identify and pay down technical debt, and drive improvements to reliability, observability, and developer experience.
Technical Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor mid-level and junior engineers through pairing, code review, and structured feedback, and support their growth plans.
- Break large initiatives into well-scoped work, sequence delivery, and keep the squad unblocked.
- Run architecture and code reviews that raise quality without slowing the team down.
- Help interview and onboard new engineers, and contribute to hiring bar and onboarding materials.
- Own the delivery and health of your squad's work: surface risk early, keep quality high, and hold the team to a shared standard.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work with the Head of Engineering to align technical roadmap with company strategy.
- Partner with Product Managers to shape requirements, surface constraints early, and propose alternatives.
- Coordinate with QA on test coverage, release readiness, and incident follow-up.
- Communicate technical decisions and risks clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software development experience shipping and operating production web applications.
- Depth in at least one modern server-side language and framework and one front-end framework — PHP/Laravel, Python, Node/TypeScript, Ruby, Go, or similar. The specific stack is not a requirement.
- Demonstrated ability to move into unfamiliar languages, frameworks, and problem domains quickly and ship in them.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and mentoring engineers as a technical lead, staff engineer, or equivalent.
- Strong grasp of API design, scalable application architecture, and the common patterns behind them.
- Advanced relational database skills, including schema design, query optimization, and caching strategy.
- Experience with authentication and authorization across multiple systems and environments.
- Track record of integrating multiple data sources and third-party APIs into coherent systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the credibility to influence technical direction without formal authority.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS or another cloud platform, including CI/CD pipelines.
- A strong automated testing practice, in whatever stack you've worked in.
- Exposure to PHP/Laravel or Vue.js — our current stack. Helpful context, not a requirement.
- Background in fintech, financial services, or another regulated environment.
- Experience building AI or LLM-powered features into a production application.
- Prior experience growing a team or defining engineering process.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + equity.
- Healthcare coverage.

PactFi is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to help build and ship features across our platform. You'll work primarily in our Laravel codebase, with regular front-end work in Vue.js, on products that move real money for our partners and their clients.
This is a hands-on role for an engineer with a couple of years under their belt who wants to grow quickly. You'll own features end to end with support from senior engineers, and you'll get direct exposure to product, QA, and engineering leadership rather than working from a ticket queue.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship features in our Laravel application, from database schema through API endpoints to the Vue.js interface.
- Write clean, tested, well-documented code and participate actively in code review.
- Integrate with third-party APIs and internal services, handling errors, retries, and edge cases thoughtfully.
- Work with Product Managers and QA to clarify requirements, break down work, and get features to production.
- Debug and resolve issues across the stack, including performance and data-integrity problems.
- Contribute to improving our tooling, tests, and development workflow.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of professional software development experience.
- Working experience with Laravel (or another modern MVC framework, with genuine interest in Laravel).
- Solid PHP fundamentals and comfort with object-oriented design.
- Front-end experience with Vue.js, React, or similar, plus solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Practical SQL skills and experience designing and querying relational databases (MySQL or similar).
- Familiarity with Git-based workflows and code review.
- Clear written and verbal communication, and a willingness to ask questions early.
Nice to Have
- Experience writing automated tests (Playwright, or similar).
- Exposure to AWS or another cloud platform.
- Experience with queues, background jobs, or event-driven workflows.
- Interest in fintech, financial services, or regulated environments.
- Any hands-on experience with LLM APIs or AI-assisted features.

About the Role
We’re looking for a Director, Strategic Accounts to own and deepen relationships with our institutional clients in the private credit space. As a core member of our Business Development team, you'll take the handoff from our Account Executives — owning the client relationship and making sure every account reaches its full potential.
This is a land-and-expand role at its core. Once we win a client, you’re responsible for making sure they stay, grow, and get more value out of PactFi over time. You’ll be accountable for retention, attrition, and expansion across your book — and you’ll have the relationships, the data, and the product knowledge to deliver on all three.
You don’t need to have spent your career in private credit — but you’re the type of person who picks up a new market quickly, asks the right questions, and earns credibility with sophisticated investors through preparation and commercial instinct.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Client Relationships & Engagement
• Serve as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of our private credit clients, building deep relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Lead Executive Business Reviews and joint business planning sessions, facilitating strategic conversations that connect our product capabilities to each client’s evolving investment objectives.
• Navigate high-pressure conversations with credibility and commercial rigor — whether managing escalations, negotiating renewals, or presenting.
Retention, Adoption & Growth
• Own the full post-sale client lifecycle — driving product adoption, deepening engagement across PactFi’s suite of products, and identifying expansion opportunities within your book of business.
• Monitor client performance and health metrics proactively, taking decisive action to address risks and surface opportunities before they become issues.
• Partner with clients to ensure they are fully activated and generating value from the platform as efficiently as possible.
Strategy & Operations
• Use data, structured analysis, and AI-enabled tools to identify growth opportunities, improve program management, and continuously optimize outcomes across your portfolio.
• Build and maintain account plans that reflect each client’s strategic priorities, key stakeholders, and near-term opportunities — keeping internal teams aligned on account health and trajectory.
• Develop a prioritization framework for your portfolio based on revenue potential, engagement depth, and expansion opportunity.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Experience
• 10+ years of experience in account management, client success, investment banking, consulting, or a related client-facing role within financial services — alternatives, private credit, asset management, or fintech serving institutional clients.
• Proven track record managing senior-level relationships with institutional investors, asset managers, or other sophisticated financial counterparties.
• Experience operating in a post-sale capacity, owning client outcomes after handoff from a sales or business development team.
• Familiarity with private credit markets, alternative investments, or investment data and analytics platforms is a strong plus.
Skills & Capabilities
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills — you can build trust quickly with senior investment professionals and handle difficult conversations with composure.
• Analytical and data-driven approach to account management; you use performance data and structured frameworks to guide your priorities and recommendations.
• Strong organizational and program management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex accounts simultaneously without losing the thread on any of them.
• Comfortable leveraging technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and the quality of client engagement.
• Entrepreneurial mindset — you take ownership, operate well in ambiguity, and are energized by building in a fast-moving environment.

THE DESIGN PROBLEM
- Product is moving from a screen-first build model, where the underlying system is designed first and the interface follows.
- Today's product is fully deterministic, human-driven screens. You'd help define, from scratch, what this platform looks like as AI becomes a first-class part of it — AI agents as a new type of participant alongside human users, and AI as a new interaction modality for human users themselves.
- Workflows are tied to assets that can live 5–7 years, resurfacing repeatedly at different cadences over that lifetime, with multiple parties holding different views and permissions each time.
- Clients regularly bring new deal and asset structures the platform hasn't seen before, so the product has to accommodate structural variation it can't fully anticipate.
- Permissioning is layered — participants often have their own downstream stakeholders who need visibility into a subset of the same information.
- A point of view on how AI is reshaping what a "product" is — where a great interface is still needed versus where the underlying data itself, exposed well, is becoming the product — is a plus.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own one or two major product surfaces end-to-end — from problem framing through shipped, polished detail.
- Design and ship the platform's first real AI-native interaction pattern in an otherwise fully deterministic product — no existing pattern to extend from.
- Design for dense, structured financial data at scale, and for multi-party, long-running workflows with layered permissions.
- Work closely with the PM and engineers on your surface to develop the strategy and rationale behind what you build, not just execute a spec.
- Contribute to and help shape a design system built for extensibility across evolving workflows and asset structures.
- Set an example in critique and day-to-day work for how design is done here — the work itself is the signal, not a title or mandate.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE
- Prior experience in product design roles shipping software to users, working closely with cross-functional teams on the strategy and rationale for features, not just executing handed-off specs.
- Real, hands-on experience designing AI-native interaction patterns, or clear fluency and specific examples of exploring them — not just general enthusiasm.
- Comfort designing for dense, data-heavy interfaces, not just typical consumer-style layouts.
- An outstanding portfolio with case studies showing typography, interaction, and visual design craft, plus product sense and idea generation.
- Comprehensive experience using prototyping to explore and convey design solutions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and storytelling skill.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + equity.
- Healthcare coverage.
