is a global venture and applied technology firm focused on building next-generation healthcare companies. We manage venture capital and venture buyout strategies, each powered by an AI operating system and a team of leading technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors drawn from the most consequential healthcare, AI, and software institutions in the world.
Since 2018, Redesign and our portfolio companies have touched the lives of more than 15 million patients, raised over $1.5 billion from premier institutional, sovereign, and strategic investors, and built distinctive partnerships with marquee healthcare organizations and senior leaders around the world. We are headquartered in New York, with offices in Bengaluru, Los Angeles, and Riyadh.
About the Team:
Redesign’s technology practice combines a frontier applied AI lab with deep healthtech investing expertise. Members of the practice have founded companies worth more than two billion dollars and built systems that serve hundreds of millions of patients, providers, and expert users, and run inside NASA, CIA, and 90% of the Fortune 500.
The practice is responsible for Redesign’s technical investments, supports founders with architect-level guidance and more than a million dollars in AI and cloud credits, and builds the agentic operating system at the core of our business. Just as importantly, we help every team at Redesign use that system to become more technical, more creative, and more self-sufficient. We believe everyone is a builder, and that AI can let exceptional operators turn their expertise into software at the speed of thought.
We are a team of founders and researchers, musicians and astrophysicists, caregivers and friends. We prize analytical rigor, intellectual humility, and a drive to learn, build, and teach. We have been working on language models since before they were large, but we still reinvent ourselves every day as technology changes how we work and collaborate. We believe that AI will do more good for humanity in healthcare than anywhere else. We know the most impactful member of our team will be someone we have not yet met, and we cannot wait to learn from them.
About the Role:
We’re hiring a research-driven, product-minded Director of Product Design to discover, design, and build the agentic products that power Redesign’s most important decisions: the founders we back, the concepts we pursue, the people we hire, the investors we work with, and the healthcare partners we support. This is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who can sit with a user until they truly understand the work, translate that understanding into elegant product, and then build it themselves.
You will own the full arc—from user research, to design, to shipping a working front end with AI-native tools, to the product judgment that decides what’s worth building at all. You will ship with the ownership of a founder, the empathy of a researcher, and the taste of a designer who sweats every detail. You keep current with frontier AI tooling and retool your tradecraft every day. You will join a global team of former founders, architects, and research scientists, and your peers will be among the most senior technical and business leaders at the firm. This is an IC role; you will lead through craft and influence rather than headcount.
What You'll Do:
Go deep on the user. Embed with our investment, talent, and global development teams to understand high-judgment, often messy workflows from the inside. Run the research—interviews, observation, synthesis—that uncovers what people are really trying to do, and where today's tools fail them. Turn that insight into a clear, opinionated point of view—not on how to wrap tools around today's processes, but on how thework itself should change with the power of AI.
Design products people love. Take problems from ambiguous to shipped: information architecture, interaction design, and—where it counts—high-craft visual design. You architect interfaces for humans and agents with equal deliberation, treating tools, context, memory, and failure recovery as product surfaces.
Build, don’t just spec. Use Claude, Claude Code, and modern AI design and prototyping tools to build real, working front ends—not handoff files. You own the frontend, working alongside engineers who handle the backend and the heavier technical lifting, so you close the gap between design and engineering by shipping the interface yourself and raise the bar for what a designer can deliver.
Own the product. Act as the product manager for the workflows you take on: set the strategy, prioritize ruthlessly, define what good looks like, and measure whether what you shipped actually changed how people work.
Raise the bar across the firm. Use the work you ship to teach the organization what great, AI-native product design looks like, contribute reusable patterns back to our core systems, and help teammates and portfolio companies build differently.
What You'll Need:
We value and actively seek exceptional talent from all backgrounds and experiences, recognizing that excellence takes many forms. We care less about the specific arena than about clear evidence of superlative peer-relative performance: being selected into high-talent environments, distinguishing yourself within them, earning unusually broad scope or trusted ownership, progressing rapidly, or doing work that changed the trajectory of a team, product, company, or field. While every path is different, we believe the most successful candidates for this role will share the following characteristics:
You have spent 10+ years designing and shipping software products, with a substantial portion of that time owning user research—you are as comfortable running a discovery interview and synthesizing findings as you are in a design tool. Bonus points for founding a company, building a product from 0-1, or designing for expert and high-judgment users.
You have a strong design practice across interaction, information architecture, and product thinking, with visual design as a notable strength. Your portfolio shows products that are both deeply usable and genuinely beautiful.
You have completely reinvented your workflow around AI. You build working front ends with tools like Claude, Claude Code, and modern AI prototyping environments, and you ship interfaces rather than hand them off. Comfort with HTML/CSS and a modern component framework (React or similar) is expected; you don't need to be a career engineer—you'll be supported by engineers who own the backend and deeper technical work—but you do need to build the frontend yourself.
You bring product management instincts: you can set strategy, prioritize, define metrics, and make the call on what to build and what to cut—often with incomplete information.
You are drawn to the messy human systems where data, relationships, and expertise combine to predict the future. Bonus points for having worked inside or built software for an investment firm, or having spent enough time around investors and operators to understand how they work.
Design is one of your passions, but you find deep meaning in some other pursuit to which you’ve devoted your time, thought, and effort: a creative or athletic outlet, a family business, or service.
Who You Are:
You are a relentless, startup-native builder with a high tolerance for ambiguity and an even higher speed of execution.
You are obsessive about building products people love. Where others see requirements, you see people trying to do difficult work with imperfect tools. You earn their trust by working alongside them, and you go to unreasonable lengths to make sure what you build creates outsize impact.
You have an outstanding executive presence and can skillfully elicit critical information about what to build. You help nontechnical leaders understand “the art of the possible,” and they trust you because you deliver for them.
You hold a high bar for craft and taste, and you believe AI sets the floor, not the ceiling—the last mile is owned by judgment.
You have thrived in a group of passionate, talented, diverse, and low-ego individuals because these kinds of people love working with you.
You are deeply motivated to transform global healthcare and see technology and design as the true calling through which you can better the world.
You have accomplished something most people haven’t: started a company, won an international award, shipped a product loved by many, performed your craft at the highest level, or overcome difficult circumstances to succeed. You have dedicated your life to excellence in your craft.
How We Work:
Our company values are the standards and norms that shape how we make decisions, build teams, serve patients, and partner with one another. They define what you can expect from us and what we expect from every person who joins our team. We share them openly so candidates can decide whether this way of working will bring out their best.
Patients are waiting: Work with the urgency that patients deserve.
AI sets the floor: Nothing short of what AI in expert hands can deliver; taste and judgment own the last mile.
Stack the team: Talent density is our greatest asset; raise the bar with every hire.
Trust people, challenge ideas: Assume good intent; never shy from rigorous debate.
Sweat your craft: Take pride in your work; seek feedback to continuously improve.
Go beyond: Your role, comfort zone, and expectations for what’s possible.
Be the partner you want: High integrity, responsive, and genuinely invested in shared success.
No shortcuts: Patient safety, clinical standards, and partner trust above all.
Compensation & Location:
You will work on a hybrid schedule from our offices in the San Francisco Bay Area or New York City. We target world-class talent and compensate accordingly, with packages containing a mix of cash and fund equity.

ABOUT THE COMPANY:
Redesign Health https://www.redesignhealth.com/ is a global venture and applied technology firm focused on building next-generation healthcare companies. We manage venture capital and venture buyout strategies, each powered by an AI operating system and team of leading technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors.
Our venture capital strategy backs exceptional founders at the earliest stage—often before an idea is fully formed—and provides first institutional capital and an unmatched degree of strategic leverage and domain expertise through exit. Our venture buyout strategy partners with proven management teams through control investments and delivers outsized value by rewiring core products and workflows with AI.
Since inception in 2018, Redesign and our portfolio companies have touched the lives of more than 15 million patients, raised over $1.5 billion from premier institutional, sovereign, and strategic investors, and built distinctive partnerships with marquee healthcare organizations and senior leaders around the world.
Redesign is based in New York and has offices in Bengaluru, Los Angeles, and Riyadh.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As our Director, Fund Accounting & Investment Operations, you will deliver senior technical accounting judgment as well as own the execution of fund accounting and fund administration processes for Redesign Health’s US and International Funds. You are someone with a strong grasp of fund accounting strategy and technical GAAP nuances, who is also highly willing and capable of hands-on execution in the details. This means you will own technical fund accounting and financial reporting, as well as the end-to-end investor operations lifecycle. That lifecycle includes preparing capital call and distribution notices, drafting fund financial statements, owning investor-facing fund reporting, managing tax and compliance reporting, as well as responding to questions and requests from Redesign’s investors. You will bring human judgment to AI-native transformation projects while we both grow domestically and scale new international funds. You will have access to AI experts and frontier AI tools that enable you to run the transformed function you will help design. You will report to and work very closely with our Controller, as well as with our broader Strategy & Finance and Legal teams.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Fund Accounting, NAV & Financial Statements: Own fund accounting across a complex multi-vehicle structure of SPVs, aggregators, parallel funds, and offshore blockers. Maintain the books in Allvue, own and review quarterly NAV packages and Partner Capital statements. Oversee bank, trial balance, and investment reconciliations. Prepare and review fund financial statements, some audited.
- Capital Calls, Distribution & Investor Operations: Run capital call and distribution cycles end to end, including pro-rata sharing calculations, equalization and late-admission true-ups, notice preparation and validation, wire-instruction verification, and flow-of-funds execution with banking partners. Own investor onboarding and subscriptions, KYC/AML, the accuracy of investor-facing statements, and handle investor-sensitive accounting exceptions that must be resolved before they reach an LP.
- Investor Relations and Communications: You will own the resolution of investor questions and requests sent to our Investor Relations inbox. This includes answering investor questions about fund mechanics, replying to reporting requests, completing investor audit confirmations, addressing inquiries from investor tax and accounting teams, as well as resolving ad hoc investor questions.
- Tax, Compliance, and Reporting Oversight: Review and sign off on K-1s, partnership tax forms (1042/8804), FATCA/CRS reporting, and investor reporting across the fund complex. You will coordinate and review the work of external preparers and specialists and hold them to standard. You will ensure the quality and accuracy of regulatory reporting obligations such as Form ADV and CIMA.
- Technical Accounting, Fund Launches & Audit: Serve as the senior reviewer and technical accounting owner for fund structuring, fund changes, and new fund launches. Own external fund audits end to end, from PBC delivery to liaising with auditors and external fund compliance advisors.
- AI-Native Process Design: Partner with the Controller and the Technology & AI team creating AI-native fund administration processes. You will provide the fund accounting knowledge, and contribute to the design of systems that let AI carry the preparation work while judgment, signoff, and exceptions stay with you.
- International Fund Scale-Up: Partner with Strategy & Finance, Legal, and local advisors to stand up and scale fund accounting and investment operations for new international funds across multiple markets, including the banking, entity, and compliance infrastructure each new fund requires.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- You have a CPA (or equivalent license), with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 8+ years in fund accounting and fund administration within venture capital, private equity, or hedge funds including time as a senior reviewer and not solely as a preparer. You have had exposure to a wide variety of private fund structures, investment vehicles, and investment instruments.
- Deep command of US partnership accounting and complex fund structures (SPVs, aggregator and parallel funds, holding vehicles, offshore blockers, and international funds).
- Demonstrated ownership of capital calls, distributions, NAV and capital account calculations, valuations, and the review of fund financial statements.
- Experience leading external fund audits and managing fund administrators, auditors, and external legal counsel.
- Willingness to evaluate, learn and adopt frontier AI tools in all of your day to day tasks.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:
- High proficiency with fund accounting software (Allvue experience a strong plus).
- Deep experience with investor relations CRM platforms for managing broad investor communications and document distribution.
- Exposure to highly technical new fund launches, fund structuring, or standing up accounting for new vehicles or jurisdictions.
- Familiarity with cap table administration and partnership tax and K-1 reporting.
- Working knowledge of KYC/AML, banking compliance, and cross-border requirements (e.g., FATCA, CRS, CIMA), and comfort operating across multiple entities, currencies, and jurisdictions.
- Familiarity with the capabilities of frontier AI tools (ex. Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, Cowork) and insatiable curiosity to learn them, even if you have not had the chance to use them yet.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Action Oriented. You readily take action on challenges and step up to tough issues with high urgency, energy and enthusiasm. You don’t plan unnecessarily, but identify and seize opportunities. You keep a can-do attitude in good and bad times.
- Ensures Accountability. You follow through on commitments and make sure others do the same. You act with a clear sense of ownership, and take personal responsibility for decisions and outcomes, and build processes that make work monitorable and establish clear feedback loops for measuring results.
- Manages Complexity. You ask the right questions, uncover root causes, and make sense of high-volume, sometimes contradictory information across entities and jurisdictions. You comfortably challenge confident-but-wrong conclusions regardless of whether they come from a person, an “expert”, or an AI.
- Decision Quality. You make sound decisions, even in the absence of complete information, relying on a mix of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment. You consider all relevant factors, apply the right criteria and principles, and recognize when a quick 80% solution will do and when a call has to be exactly right.
- Tech Innovator. You proactively leverage new systems and tools for extraordinary productivity. You are comfortable disrupting your own ways of working to improve the system, while knowing exactly where human judgment must override.
- Instills Trust. You earn confidence through accuracy, integrity, and consistency between word and action. You exemplify the qualities that investors, auditors, executives and regulators rely on.
HOW WE WORK:
Our company values are the standards and norms that shape how we make decisions, build teams, serve patients, and partner with one another. They define what you can expect from us and what we expect from every person who joins our team. We share them openly so candidates can decide whether this way of working will bring out their best.

- Trust people, challenge ideas: Assume good intent; never shy from rigorous debate.

- Be the partner you want: High integrity, responsive, and genuinely invested in shared success.
- No shortcuts: Patient safety, clinical standards, and partner trust above all.
Location: This role will be based in NYC and ideally work in a hybrid fashion 3 days/week.
Compensation: The target base salary for this role is $180K, meaningful portfolio equity. The expected base pay for this position is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

ABOUT THE COMPANY
Redesign Health http://redesignhealth.com is a global venture and applied technology firm focused on building next-generation healthcare companies. We manage venture capital and venture buyout strategies, each powered by an AI operating system and team of leading technologists, entrepreneurs, and investors.
Our venture capital strategy backs exceptional founders at the earliest stage, often before an idea is fully formed, often providing the first institutional capital and an unmatched degree of strategic healthcare-specific leverage through exit. Our venture buyout strategy partners with proven management teams at existing incumbents via control investments and delivers outsized value by rewiring core products and workflows with AI.
Since inception in 2018, Redesign and our portfolio companies have touched the lives of more than 15 million patients, raised over $1.5 billion from premier institutional, sovereign, and strategic investors, and built distinctive partnerships with marquee healthcare organizations around the world.
Redesign is based in New York and has offices in Bengaluru, Los Angeles, and Riyadh.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Redesign Health is hiring an early-stage investor to focus on pre-seed deal sourcing and relationship development, with a particular emphasis on expanding our network in the healthcare AI ecosystem.
This is a sourcing-first role for a self-starter who is energized by networking and excited to build relationships with high-potential founders. This role focuses on the earliest stage of our investment pipeline developing proprietary relationships, generating differentiated deal flow, and creating early access to amazing founders in Redesign Health’s strike zone. You will combine strong interpersonal instincts with structured sourcing discipline, and work closely with your partner Redesign Health teams on the path to Investment Committee.
We are looking for someone who is AI-innate and naturally uses AI tools, data signals, and workflow automation to build a differentiated sourcing engine. The best candidates are natural connectors with strong founder instincts who can combine judgment, hustle, ecosystem fluency, and AI tooling to turn fragmented signals into real founder relationships at 10x the scale than anyone could have done previously.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Founder & Ecosystem Development - Build a dense, trusted network across founders, angels, scouts, venture funds, operators, and entrepreneurial communities. Develop real market presence in the places where exceptional founders actually emerge. Expand Redesign’s network and visibility in the AI healthcare ecosystem by tracking which operators are turning into founders, which micro-communities are producing breakout talent, and where conviction is building before the rest of the market catches up. Bring those insights back into Redesign’s investment process and broader platform.
Active Founder Sourcing - Source high-potential pre-seed investment opportunities through relationship-driven founder sourcing. Identify founders who fit Redesign’s from pre-idea founders just starting to explore their next venture to founders leading pre-seed stage companies. Sourcing should cover operator networks, universities, accelerators, founder communities, events/dinners, and other relevant digital channels via a combination of active in-market engagement and desk sourcing. You’ll maintain an active, high-quality pipeline of founders / deals and have a strong point of view on the level of attention needed for each to convert.
Maintaining Our Founder Bar - Understand what exceptional founders look like and ensure that our founders in our pipeline reflect that expectation. As you continue to engage founders, you should be relaying learnings for founder attributes and signals we should prioritize as part of any future sourcing activities.
Team Ecosystem Orchestration Design and orchestrate Redesign’s broader ecosystem presence. Map the universities, accelerators, regional ecosystems, founder communities, and events where Redesign should have sustained relationships, and create opportunities for other members of the investment team to engage directly. You are both a pilot and air traffic controller: personally deep in the highest-priority networks while routing teammates into the right rooms, relationships, and conversations so that Redesign’s coverage multiplies beyond any single person’s reach.
Partnering with Founders from Sourcing Through Diligence & IC - Build trust quickly with founders and engage credibly from the first conversation. You'll work alongside founders through evaluation, diligence, and the lead-up to their IC pitch. For founders just starting to explore what's next, you'll speak competently across Redesign thesis areas to both entice them and demonstrate our insight into the healthcare market. During diligence, you'll surface key questions that would impact an investment decision and support process management with speed and rigor. While the role is sourcing-first, it offers meaningful exposure to how conviction is built and how investment decisions get made.
AI-Native Sourcing Systems - Build and continuously refine an AI-enabled sourcing engine. Use data signals, workflow automation, network mapping, market monitoring, and AI tools to identify founder targets, prioritize outreach, track ecosystem movement, and improve sourcing productivity.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Background
- 2–5 years of experience in venture capital, early-stage investing, startups, or a related field
- Direct previous exposure to founder sourcing or venture ecosystem development is strongly preferred
Core Competencies
- Network Density: You know how to build real relationships across founders, angels, microfunds, operators, and investors.
- Founder Judgment: You have early instincts for exceptional people, including those who may not fit obvious or over-credentialed patterns.
- Sourcing Drive: You are energized by the hunt. You do not wait for opportunities to come to you; you create them through consistent market engagement.
- Opportunity Evaluation: You are interested not just in people, but in what they are building, why it matters, and whether it can become a venture-scale business.
- Process Discipline: You can run an active pipeline with rigor with timely follow-ups, clear prioritization, CRM hygiene, and signal tracking all stay tight.
- Systems Thinking: You think about ecosystem coverage as a system design opportunity diagnosing gaps in our network and solving for how we can maximize our presence, time, and effort across channels.
Behavioral Skills
- Self-Starter: You are comfortable working independently and can own the execution of your own responsibilities. You are proactive in transforming your workflows and don’t wait for someone else to tell you something is wrong or should be improved.
- Relationships Over Transactions: You understand that proprietary deal flow comes from developing trust, reputation, and demonstrating value to every founder or external partner we engage. You take the long view of working with people and don’t drop the relationship if it isn’t immediately valuable.
- Natural Connector: You move easily across ecosystems, make warm introductions instinctively, and create network effects around yourself.
- Entrepreneurial: You are resourceful, proactive, and comfortable building from ambiguity. You treat the sourcing engine itself as a product to be developed.
- Founder-First: You communicate with empathy and credibility. Founders feel that you understand them, what they are trying to build, and why it matters.
- Technology Innovator: You proactively leverage AI and emerging technology tools to create extraordinary productivity and impact. You think ahead about how your role will evolve and independently experiment with, adopt, and refine technology-driven solutions.
HOW WE WORK:
Our company values are the standards and norms that shape how we make decisions, build teams, serve patients, and partner with one another. Managing Director of New Ventures - Cedars-Sinai
Redesign Health · Los Angeles, California, United States
Managing Director, New Ventures
Redesign Health + Cedars-Sinai Digital Innovation Platform
Most healthcare investors wait for companies to come to them. This role creates them.
Redesign Health and Cedars-Sinai have launched a Digital Innovation Platform, a first-of-its-kind venture creation engine embedded inside one of the world’s premier academic medical centers. The platform combines Redesign’s healthcare company-building methodology with something no standalone venture firm can offer: Cedars-Sinai’s 4,500+ physicians and nurses, its expansive clinical network of 40+ hospitals and sites of care, a purpose-built synthetic and de-identified data platform, and a standing commitment to serve as the first customer for every company the platform creates. Ideas originate from the clinicians and researchers who see problems up close every day. The companies that emerge are validated in real clinical environments before they ever reach the broader market.
This is an unparalleled opportunity to build generational healthcare companies. You will have something almost no one in healthcare venture has: a fully committed institutional partner with world-class clinical expertise, deep data assets, and the infrastructure to pilot and validate at scale - all before a company writes its first check to a customer. The access is real. The commitment is structural, not performative.
As Managing Director, New Ventures, you will run Redesign’s side of this partnership end to end. This is a -1 to 0 role. Your job is to take clinical pain points and institutional white space and turn them into funded, founder-led operating companies. You will work inside Cedars-Sinai’s innovation infrastructure to surface high-conviction opportunities, develop original investment theses around them, attract exceptional founders, and shepherd concepts through co-ideation and diligence to Redesign’s Investment Committee.
The right person for this role has built things before: companies, investment theses, teams, or programs in healthcare. You might come from venture capital, corporate venture, health system innovation, strategy, or operations. What matters more than your last title is that you have the commercial judgment to know which problems are worth solving, the taste to identify founding talent, and the credibility to be taken seriously by clinicians, executives, and entrepreneurs in the same week. You are the kind of person who earns trust inside institutions and moves with urgency once you have it.
This position is based in Los Angeles. You get to be onsite 3–4 days per week in our Cedars-Sinai office.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
PARTNERSHIP OPERATIONS & GOVERNANCE
Own the day-to-day relationship between Redesign Health and Cedars-Sinai. Serve as the accountable driver of delivery against the partnership’s commitments. Prepare materials for and participate in Joint Operating Committee, Steering Committee, and Investment Committee meetings. Build deep, trust-based relationships with clinical and administrative stakeholders across the health system - department heads, researchers, operational leaders, and the Digital Innovation team so that when opportunities surface, you are the first person they call.
THESIS DEVELOPMENT & CO-IDEATION
Work inside Cedars-Sinai’s clinical ecosystem to identify the problems worth building companies around. Engage directly with clinicians, researchers, and operational leaders to understand where digital solutions can create outsized value. Translate those insights into original investment theses grounded in stakeholder willingness to pay, clinical workflow integration, and market structure. The platform’s initial focus areas include personalized medicine, specialty care access, hospital workflow optimization, clinical decision support, and care coordination, but you will shape these thematic priorities as the partnership evolves.
FOUNDER SOURCING & ENGAGEMENT
Identify and attract exceptional founders to lead the companies this platform creates. The value proposition you are selling is unlike anything else in the market: a validated clinical thesis, first institutional capital, day-one access to Cedars-Sinai’s provider network and data platform, a committed first customer, and Redesign’s full venture-building infrastructure. Your job is to present this proposition compellingly so that exceptional talent chooses this path over well-funded alternatives, and also to evaluate founder-market fit with the judgment to say no quickly when conviction is lacking.
Beyond sourcing for specific companies, build Los Angeles into a destination for healthcare entrepreneurship. Develop relationships with local universities, cultivate a community of technical and clinical talent, and position the Cedars-Sinai Digital Innovation Platform as the center of gravity for founders who want to build healthcare companies in LA. The Bay Area doesn’t have a monopoly on great founders, but someone has to make that case and back it up with infrastructure. That’s you.
DILIGENCE & IC DELIVERY
Stress-test your own theses harder than anyone else will. Identify the two or three questions that truly matter for each concept and resolve them through primary conversations with clinicians, payers, and potential customers. Shepherd founders and concepts to Redesign’s Investment Committee with clarity, speed, and honest representation of risks. Concepts should arrive at IC with a clear path to Cedars-Sinai as a design partner and first customer.
PLATFORM & PORTFOLIO SUPPORT
Once companies are funded, serve as the primary interface between founding teams and Redesign’s platform. Help founders access Cedars-Sinai’s clinical network for piloting, implementation, and research validation. Deliver Redesign’s strategic support: domain expertise, go-to-market acceleration, fundraising positioning, and governance insight. Know when to lean in and when to step back - the founder’s success is the only thing that matters.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
Lead and develop the New Ventures team assigned to the Cedars-Sinai partnership. Provide direct management for Associates and Principals. Mentor junior talent while contributing to Redesign’s broader organizational strategy and venture creation methodology.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
BACKGROUND
- 8–10+ years of experience in healthcare, with meaningful exposure to company creation, investing, or strategic innovation - whether from venture capital, corporate venture, health system innovation, strategy consulting, operations, or a combination
- Experience working with or inside large healthcare organizations (academic medical centers, integrated delivery networks, payers, or health tech companies serving them) and an intuition for how institutions adopt new technology
- Healthcare domain expertise with the ability to develop original investment theses across care delivery, health tech, and digital health
- Fluency in business model analysis, primary and secondary research, investment thesis development, and financial modeling
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
CORE COMPETENCIES
- Institutional Credibility: You earn trust with senior clinicians, health system executives, and C-suite leaders. You’ve worked inside or alongside complex organizations and know how to build internal champions, align incentives across departments, and turn institutional interest into institutional commitment.
- Founder Instinct: A refined sense of what “great” looks like in founding talent, including the ability to recognize the exceptional in non-standard backgrounds. You can sell a vision and close a founder.
- Commercial Judgment: You map every concept to a specific stakeholder’s willingness to pay, understand unit economics, and sense whether a business model can scale. Academic depth paired with commercial instinct.
- Speed to Kill: The ability to say no quickly to concepts, founders, and your own ideas. Nothing lingers in an uncertain state. Time spent on mediocre opportunities is time away from exceptional ones.
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS
- Relationships Over Research: You spend disproportionate time with clinicians, founders, VCs, operators, and payers. A few sharp primary conversations answer questions that weeks of secondary research cannot.
- Radical Honesty: You surface risks early, communicate directly even when the message is unwelcome, and maintain strong opinions loosely held.
- Partnership Orientation: You subordinate process preferences to founder needs. You are the first person every founder calls in a crisis and the person Cedars-Sinai’s team trusts to represent the partnership accurately.
- Technology Innovator: All analytical and synthesis work — market sizing, landscaping, competitive mapping, secondary research — goes into AI systems. Your time is reserved for the irreplaceable: relationships, taste, judgment, primary conversations, and selling. You have built systems and workflows far more sophisticated than basic LLM usage and are constantly experimenting with new ways to compress months of work into weeks.
HOW WE WORK:
Our company values are the standards and norms that shape how we make decisions, build teams, serve patients, and partner with one another. They define what you can expect from us and what we expect from every person who joins our team. We share them openly so candidates can decide whether this way of working will bring out their best.
- Patients are waiting: Work with the urgency that patients deserve.
- AI sets the floor: Nothing short of what AI in expert hands can deliver; taste and judgment own the last mile.
- Stack the team: Talent density is our greatest asset; raise the bar with every hire.
- Trust people, challenge ideas: Assume good intent; never shy from rigorous debate.
- Sweat your craft: Take pride in your work; seek feedback to continuously improve.
- Go beyond: Your role, comfort zone, and expectations for what’s possible.
