Encore Program Internship-Legal Counsel for Commercial Engagements
Texas Instruments · Dallas, TX, United States
Are you an experienced professional or veteran looking for a purposeful step back into the workforce after an extended career break? Or are you ready to return to full ‑ time work but need a flexible bridge to re ‑ launch your career?
TI’s Encore Program helps you put your skills to work, sharpen your capabilities, and relaunch your career.
About the Encore program
Overview: A paid, 12 ‑ week internship designed for experienced talent who have taken a career break of 2 years or more over a continuous period
Your role: You’ll be a contributor, not a trainee, from day 1—solving real problems, inventing solutions, and collaborating with TI teams.
Support: Personalized mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities are built into the program.
Outcome: High ‑ performing participants will be considered for full ‑ time employment at the end of the program.
Qualifications, skills and requirements
Change the world. Love your job.
TI’s Legal Department is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and proactive self-starter to join our Worldwide Commercial Engagements team as Legal Counsel. You will operate in a fast-moving, global environment supporting a cutting-edge and expanding semiconductor company, serving as a trusted advisor to leaders across TI.
You will join an experienced, collaborative Dallas-based legal team. The role offers broad, international exposure to complex commercial contracts, online commerce, intellectual property, open-source and software licensing, supply chain, marketing, crisis communications, and cybersecurity. Experience with technology licensing, tech transfer, or IP-intensive transactions is a plus.
We are looking for agile learners and true go-getters —attorneys who take initiative, anticipate issues, and independently drive matters to completion. You will manage your own portfolio, apply strong business judgment, and work across an international team to advise on emerging and evolving business models.
In this role, you will help ensure TI is asking—and solving—the right questions. You will quickly assess whether an issue advances a meaningful business objective, reframe it when needed, and deprioritize it when it doesn’t. You’ll begin each project with a clear definition of success, align with stakeholders upfront, and track whether your actions deliver the intended outcome. You will be expected to escalate thoughtfully and with purpose—to improve outcomes, not simply to be cautious —using escalation to drive alignment, enable decisions, or materially shift strategy while maintaining responsibility for forward progress.
You will help us move from custom, one-off lawyering to modular contract architecture by creating reusable contract structures and legal frameworks that enable speed, scale, and consistent risk posture. You will help modernize our operations through standardization, automation, and AI . We are looking for someone who gives data-driven advice , grounded in prior deal history, defined legal positions, and prevailing market norms. You’ll contribute to building and maintaining the legal data, playbooks, and knowledge assets that support this approach.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Change the world. Love your job.
Test is a crucial time in an IC development process; if you find a bug or an issue, it is a good time to fix it, but every additional second of testing we do, is additional cost when you scale a device into production. So, test engineers must identify the critical points of the device where testing is most necessary and the points where we may want to take some risk. It is a precise balance, that has the potential to save our businesses millions of dollars!
Test engineers spend a good amount of time in the lab and when they're not there, they are designing test hardware using software tools like cadence and building test programs on an ATE simulator, or troubleshooting – the programs or the device.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience in Product/Test engineering role.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with ATE programming (ETS364 preferred).
Proficiency with specific data analysis applications (e.g., SpotFire DXP, MBayse).
Experience in semiconductor device testing and troubleshooting.
Enthusiastic and curious mindset.
Proven history of technical accomplishments.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
Experience in developing and implementing innovative analog test standards, processes, and methodologies.
Familiarity with GaN technology and associated test methods.
Project management, time management, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing robustness validation techniques.
Experience in analyzing test data and presenting findings effectively.
Experience in developing ATE corrective actions for customer returns.
Advanced understanding of semiconductor device fundamentals.
Advanced level of understanding and use of ATE.
Advanced level of engineering statistics and statistical distribution analysis.
Self-starter with willingness to learn new things.
Experience in optimizing production test programs while maximizing test coverage on ATE.
Experience in driving innovative test standards to improve quality and reliability (improve DPPM).
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage complex projects.
Experience building and maintaining working relationships with various teams (SBE, Quality, FAB, and Assembly sites).
