OUR MISSION
Imagine building a better healthcare journey for patients with cancer, where individuals and their loved ones feel seen, supported, and heard by their care team – both in and out of the clinic. Where fast access to high-quality care is the norm, not the exception. Where patients have access to a care navigator to guide them through their diagnosis and trusted support all along the way.
At Thyme Care, we share a passion for transforming the cancer care experience – not just for patients but also for their caregivers and loved ones, as well as those delivering and paying for their care. Today, Thyme Care is known predominantly as a cancer care navigation company enabling value-based cancer care; in the next few years, we will become a nationally recognized technology-driven and provider-centric care delivery model, reshaping the landscape of cancer care access, delivery, and experience. Our commitment runs deep—we're not satisfied with the status quo but determined to redefine it.
To make this happen, we’re building a diverse team of problem solvers and critical thinkers to drive innovation and shape the future of healthcare. If you share our vision and want to be part of something truly meaningful, we want to hear from you. Together, we can revolutionize cancer care and make a difference that lasts a lifetime.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be a key part of our ever-growing technical team that owns the development of Thyme Box, our proprietary internal care management platform. Thyme Box is the primary tool that enables 600+ Care Team members to deliver clinical and non-clinical navigation services to members every day.
Additionally, you will:
Connect with and add to our collaborative, agile team, and learn our tech stack inside and out.
Wrap your head around our business model at a high level and develop a deep empathy for the challenges our care team faces in supporting our members.
Independently plan, build, and deliver multiple features within the Thyme Box product, from concept through launch and iteration.
Partner closely with Product to scope experiments and shape new product ideas that improve outcomes for our members.
Work closely with oncology leaders to help them solve quickly evolving business problems through creative, elegant technical solutions.
Play a key role in building the technology that enables our oncology care team to surface ancillary benefit programs and services more efficiently.
Help create an intuitive user interface that allows our care team to triage patient touch points, from hospitalizations to changes in chemotherapy.
Surface data from multiple sources, including user inputs, to keep the care team as up-to-date as possible on their patients.
Take ownership of both technical solutions and the growth of the engineering team by mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
You have 5+ years of experience building, shipping, and supporting software in production.
You’ve worked in fast-paced, early stage environments. You’re comfortable iterating quickly to make decisions and deliver value to others.
You have strong experience with web development. You’ve built single-page applications in stacks similar to ours: Vue.js/TypeScript, FastAPI/Python, and Postgres.
You’ve taken ownership of features from idea to production, including design, implementation, testing, and ongoing improvements.
You’ve collaborated closely with engineers, product, and cross-functional partners and can clearly communicate technical tradeoffs and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have, but not required:
You’ve used and contributed to AI tooling that supports developer productivity, code quality, and engineering best practices.
You have prior experience working in healthcare or health tech.
WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS
Comfort with ambiguity. You thrive in fast-paced environments where priorities evolve and problems aren’t fully defined. You take ownership, bias toward action, and are comfortable making progress with imperfect information, while maintaining a high bar for quality as products and teams mature.
Curiosity. You have a drive to understand how things work and love sharing that knowledge with others. You’re energized by learning new technologies, improving systems, and helping your teammates grow. (Find out more about our engineering team’s culture of learning here!)
People-first. Thyme Care’s mission and members matter to you, deeply. You’re an empathetic teammate who communicates clearly, collaborates across disciplines, and values giving and receiving thoughtful feedback. You care about building products that improve people’s lives as much as you care about helping your teammates succeed.
Net-new development. You've built and deployed web applications from the ground up. You can deploy and operate services in a Cloud environment with ease and a good fundamental understanding of networking. Our stack includes Python (FastAPI), Postgres, and AWS, but experience with similar technologies is welcome.
Engineering fundamentals. You know how to deploy software engineering best practices, such as unit tests, code reviews, and design documentation. You have also worked with user interface design. Working in the Healthcare ecosystem is a plus!
OUR VALUES
At Thyme Care, our core values guide us in everything we do: Act with our members in mind, Move with purpose, and Seek diverse perspectives. They anchor our business decisions, including how we grow, the products we make, and the paths we choose—or don’t choose.

Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees. The base salary for this role is $175,500-$195,000. The salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired at another level.
We recognize a history of inequality in healthcare. We’re here to challenge the status quo and create a culture of inclusion through the care we give and the company we build. Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person’s cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers.
As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help care teams focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer.
Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you’re inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what’s possible, we’d love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will join our Data team to help us build and maintain strong analytic capabilities supporting Thyme Care’s mission. In this position, you will collaborate closely with our Product Manager and our Growth and Operations teams to understand, ingest, and accurately model healthcare data for new and existing customers, supporting updates and fixes throughout the life of the relationship. You’ll develop novel attributes and flags from our existing data to drive action on our Care Team, and build visualizations to report on their impact.
In the course of your work you should also expect to:
Gain a deep understanding of our data platform and contribute to improving our data models and pipelines using SQL and dbt
Collaborate with other data scientists, data engineers, and analysts to build scalable and sustainable data models and pipelines
Transform incoming eligibility, claims, prior auth, and ADT data to fit into our standard data models, identifying data quality issue or proposed standard data model enhancements as needed
Translate business requirements into technical plans so you can design data models, pipelines, and analytics before you begin building them
Build relationships with data teams at risk-bearing entities (insurers, ACOs, PCPs, etc.) and demonstrate Thyme Care’s expertise in building data & analytics products
Ensure that internal customers have fast, accurate, and reliable access to data, supporting their decision-making and operations with high-quality data pipelines
WHAT YOU HAVE
Expertise in working with large healthcare datasets (eligibility, medical / pharmacy claims, prior auth, ADT, etc.), ideally in a healthcare-focused technology startup with mature data structures and pipelines
Experience designing data models to support both operations and analytics and building the data transformations in SQL to bring them to life
An ability to “see beyond the question” to develop scalable solutions that are easily learned and reused by internal customers
Experience with, or willingness to quickly learn, dbt and Looker
WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS
Act with our members in mind. Thyme Care’s mission, and in particular our member experience, matters deeply to you.
Move with purpose. You’re biased to action. You know how to identify and prioritize your initiative’s needs, and do what it takes to ensure that urgent and important needs are acted on immediately.
Seek diverse perspectives. You are humble and actively seek feedback from others, eager to learn and share knowledge.
Experience. You have worked with large datasets, ideally in a healthcare-focused technology startup with mature data structures and pipelines as an Analytics Engineer, Data Scientist, or Data Engineer.
Technical ability. Proficiency in data modeling, transformation, and claims analytics is crucial. Familiarity with dbt is preferred, but we are open to candidates willing to learn it quickly. A working knowledge of Python and experience with Looker or similar BI tools for data analysis and visualization is a plus.
Clear communication. You can effectively convey your thoughts and ideas to both technical and non-technical colleagues and stakeholders.
Comfort with ambiguity. You have a successful track record working at scaling organizations, in fast-paced environments, and at ambitious startups. You navigate through challenges and find solutions in uncertain situations.

We have a lot of big problems that we need to figure out and solve, and we still don't know what some of those problems are. So, so that's number one. But to me that's really exciting. I think number two, there's, in an early stage company, one, there's always a fair amount of ambiguity. So being able to take that ambiguity and work with it and move forward, I think is critically important.

OUR MISSION
We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond.
Your role
As the Senior Manager, CRM & Lifecycle Marketing, you’ll be part of Thyme Care’s member marketing team, which leads the strategy, execution, and optimization of asynchronous member communications across the care journey.
Thyme Care partners with health plans to support their members through cancer care, and that model shapes the work. Each enrollment campaign is customized per health plan partner, and on the engagement side, programs are built around specific care behaviors, each with its own messaging, timing, and audience logic. It's a high-volume, high-customization environment, and the craft of this role is honoring what makes each partner and program distinct while building the reusable logic that keeps the system scalable.
You'll own the execution, optimization, and ongoing management of lifecycle marketing programs spanning member awareness, enrollment, activation, onboarding, engagement, and retention. Working primarily in Customer.io, you'll be the expert on how campaigns get built: how audience logic is structured, how personalization renders, how data attributes flow into messages, and whether a concept is feasible before work begins. You'll design, build, QA, and maintain cross-channel campaigns (email, SMS, direct mail) that are accurate, personalized, and delivered seamlessly. Consulted directly as campaigns are scoped, you'll partner closely with Enrollment Marketing, Member Engagement Marketing, Brand, Product, Engineering, and Data to define data requirements, monitor performance, and translate lifecycle strategies into personalized, scalable member experiences built on reusable logic.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex marketing and technical challenges as much as creating exceptional member experiences. You’ll combine strong marketing instincts with systems thinking to build communications that are timely, empathetic, data-driven, and scalable.
What You’ll Do
Build and manage CRM journeys: Develop and maintain a high-volume portfolio of automated campaigns in Customer.io (or similar tools like Iterable or Braze) that drive awareness, enrollment, engagement, and retention.
Manage data flow and integrations: Partner with engineering and data teams to optimize how member data moves between proprietary systems and marketing platforms, ensuring reliability and personalization at scale.
Design scalable campaign architecture: Create workflows and automations across channels (email, SMS, print, and landing pages) with a focus on compliance, brand alignment, and QA.
Lead testing and reporting: Define, run, and evaluate A/B tests; use Looker and other analytics tools to measure campaign performance, identify opportunities, and deliver actionable insights.
Support co-branded initiatives: Execute marketing programs with payer and provider partners, maintaining strong collaboration and brand integrity across all audiences.
Establish operational excellence: Maintain CRM hygiene, manage segmentation and audience lists, and create documentation and standards for campaign deployment.
Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with internal partners across Enrollment, Brand, and Member Engagement to translate strategic goals into technical execution.
Champion the member experience: Reduce friction in communications by simplifying journeys, clarifying messaging, and ensuring members receive timely, supportive information.
What You Bring
6+ years of experience in CRM or lifecycle marketing, with a strong focus on marketing automation and data-driven campaign management.
Deep familiarity with Customer.io, Iterable, Braze, or similar CRM platforms.
Working knowledge of HTML, dynamic content, and data integrations via APIs or data pipelines.
Comfort collaborating closely with engineering and data partners to solve technical challenges.
Experience managing complex, multi-channel programs with high attention to detail and documentation.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in performance reporting (e.g., Looker or similar BI tools).
What leads to success
Act with our members in mind. Thyme Care’s mission, and in particular, our member experience, matters deeply to you.
Move with purpose. You’re biased to action. You know how to identify and prioritize your initiative’s needs and do what it takes to ensure that urgent and important needs are acted on purposefully.
Effective listener and communicator. Must be an articulate professional with excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience in the ability to positively and creatively influence change and direction.
Experience. You have experience in lifestyle marketing and healthcare. You’ve demonstrated the ability to develop impactful campaigns that engage and resonate with patients and providers. You’re an adept project manager; you stay organized even as priorities change quickly. You also earned a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Comfort with pace and ambiguity. You have experience with scaling businesses, fast-paced environments, and startups. You understand that rapid changes to the business, strategy, organization, and priorities are par for the course.
Beginning with the end in mind. You are highly analytical. You can dive into member demographics and provider referral pathways to drive enrollment and use those insights to drive growth and results. You can translate research and insights into actionable marketing plans.
OUR VALUES
At Thyme Care, our core values guide us in everything we do: Act with our members in mind, Move with purpose, and Seek diverse perspectives. They anchor our business decisions, including how we grow, the products we make, and the paths we choose—or don’t choose.
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Thyme Care. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees. The base salary for this role is $140,250-$165,000. The salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired at another level. This position is also bonus-eligible.
We recognize a history of inequality in healthcare. We’re here to challenge the status quo and create a culture of inclusion through the care we give and the company we build. We embrace and celebrate a diversity of perspectives in reflection of our members and the members we serve. We are an equal-opportunity employer.

Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Comprehensive Health Assessment Nurse Practitioner, you will be a critical clinical team member caring for our members. You will conduct the first and annual clinical interaction with our members in this role. Using a telemedicine platform, this interaction will be a thorough, whole-person, comprehensive history and exam. You will evaluate risk scores and assess gaps in care. You will develop comprehensive care plans to address clinical and non-clinical needs and barriers. You will prioritize our members’ goals and create concrete plans for our Oncology Nurse Navigators and Community Health Workers to reach these goals. To do this, you will review available medical records, work with external providers, give clinical insights to our care team, and adhere to best documentation practices to drive high-quality care for our members.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you may be asked to participate in some holiday, night and weekend emergency coverage as needed. This role is for the following shifts: 11:30am-8pm or 2:30-11p Eastern Time.
This role reports to our Nurse Practitioner Manager and can be remote or hybrid-based in our Nashville or New York City offices. All patient interactions will be virtual via telephone, video, text, or our proprietary virtual care platform.
WHAT YOU’VE DONE
Within your first three months, you will:
Complete training and be up to speed on Thyme Care’s systems, tools, technology, partners, and clinical expectations.
Be adept at developing evidence-based, member-centered care plans that will guide our Community Health Workers and Oncology Nurse Navigators in effectively prioritizing our members' needs and goals.
Complete whole-person history and physical assessments for our members with the highest clinical rigor. You’re working fluidly with our in-house care team and providers to ensure any identified needs are met in follow-up to patient visits.
Become the go-to person for our Oncology Nurse Navigators and Community Health workers when working with a member with complex and intersecting needs.
Be comfortable following policies, procedures, escalation pathways, communications best practices, and documentation standards.
WHAT LEADS TO SUCCESS
People-first. Thyme Care’s mission and members matter to you deeply.
Experience. You have at least 3 years of NP experience, including 2 years in adult oncology and at least one year of telehealth experience. Experience completing health risk assessments is a plus! It would be exceptional if you have worked at a startup or tech-forward company.
Licensure. You have a compact RN license, an unrestricted Advanced Practice license, and a willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
Organized. You’re skilled in juggling multiple tasks and working under pressure without sacrificing organization in your communications and documentation.
Effective listener and communicator. You are winsome and articulate, but you always start with listening and hearing what may not be voiced because you listen intently to others. You build rapport and excellent working relationships with members and colleagues.
Comfort with ambiguity. Start-ups are fast-paced environments, and you understand that rapid changes to the business, strategy, organization, and priorities are par for the course… and part of the adventure.
A desire to learn how to use new technologies. We are a technology company focused on interacting with folks during the season when they need it most. Experience with video chatting, Google Suite, Slack, electronic health records, or comfort in using and learning new technology is vital.
Identify priorities and take action. You know how to identify and prioritize a member's needs and do what it takes to address urgent needs immediately.
