Position Summary
The Safety Supervisor plays a critical role in promoting the safety, health, and well-being of FBB associates. This position partners closely with operations, engineering, and leadership to develop, implement, and sustain safety programs that reduce risk, prevent workplace injuries, and foster a strong culture of safety. This role is responsible for emergency response, injury case management, regulatory compliance, and the delivery of effective safety training across the Indianapolis and Plainfield facilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Emergency Response & Injury Management
Respond to workplace medical emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
Provide initial treatment and assessment for work-related injuries in an industrial environment.
Manage workers compensation cases, coordinating with associates, medical providers, and insurance carriers.
Support return-to-work and modified duty programs to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
Participate in claims review meetings with insurance carriers.
Safety Programs & Compliance
Maintain OSHA 300 logs and ensure compliance with Department of Labor reporting requirements.
Develop, enhance, and support compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, ANSI, and other applicable standards within facilities.
Training & Safety Culture
Develop and deliver safety training programs on ergonomics, hazard identification, and safe work practices.
Educate associates, leadership, and trainers on safety standards and expectations.
Lead and facilitate the Indiana Safety Committee.
Risk Reduction & Continuous Improvement
Conduct incident investigations, chair review meetings, and perform trend analysis.
Partner with facilities, engineering, and operations to implement safety improvements.
Support and enhance the Safety Management System (SMS).
Operational Support
Provide on-site safety support across Indianapolis and Plainfield locations, including all shifts.
Partner with Human Resources to perform oral drug screening processes.
Assist with additional departmental initiatives as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
2–5 years of experience in occupational safety or related field preferred.
Experience with workers compensation case management is preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations required; NFPA/ANSI familiarity preferred.
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
