API Support Specialist
About Astra
Astra is building mission-critical infrastructure for moving money at scale. Our platform processes billions in annual transaction volume with 99.9%+ uptime, powering real-time transfers, bank debits, card disbursements, and complex financial compliance systems. We provide APIs and automation tools that enable businesses to move money programmatically while maintaining strict regulatory requirements.
The Role
We're looking for an API Support Specialist to join our Integrations team as we scale our payments API platform. You will be a front-line problem solver for our customers and their end-users. This person will manage inbound support tickets — including tickets submitted by clients on behalf of their own end-users — troubleshoot integration and payment issues, and provide clear, timely resolutions. The role requires strong problem-solving instincts, comfort with technical systems, and the ability to translate complex issues into clear solutions for customers.
You'll be the accessible, always-on technical resource for any client on our platform, regardless of account size — the person who makes sure issues get resolved fast and consistently, and who knows exactly when something needs to go to a specialist instead.
What you'll do
Own and resolve inbound technical support tickets across our full client base — API errors, integration questions, configuration issues, transaction discrepancies, and similar day-to-day technical problems
Meet defined response and resolution SLAs, prioritizing by severity and client impact
Triage incoming issues and make clear escalation calls — routing account-specific complexity to the appropriate Technical Account Manager, and any suspected platform-wide or systemic issues to engineering
Maintain and grow our internal knowledge base and runbooks, documenting resolutions so recurring issues get solved faster (or become self-serve) over time
Monitor ticket trends to spot patterns — flagging when the same issue is showing up across multiple unrelated clients, which often signals a systemic problem worth raising upstream
Communicate clearly and professionally with clients' technical teams, translating technical detail into plain, actionable guidance
Contribute feedback on recurring pain points to help inform product and documentation improvements
Help build the support function itself: as an early team member, you'll shape our macros, escalation paths, SLAs, and internal playbooks rather than just follow existing ones.
What we're looking for
1-3 years' experience in a technical support, API support, or technical customer-facing role, ideally in fintech, payments, or another API-first product
Comfort reading API documentation, logs, and error responses, and troubleshooting integration issues methodically
Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and common authentication patterns (API keys, OAuth)
Strong written communication — able to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to prioritize under pressure across multiple open tickets with different urgency levels
A structured, checklist-minded approach to troubleshooting, paired with good judgment about when a problem is outside your depth and needs to be escalated
Comfortable working with basic scripting/tooling to investigate issues (SQL queries, API testing tools like Postman, log searching) — not required to write production code
Nice to have
Prior experience at a payments, fintech, or developer-tools company
Experience with support ticketing platforms (Pylon, Zendesk, Intercom, or similar) and internal monitoring/observability tools
Exposure to basic scripting (Python, JavaScript) for investigating issues
How success is measured
SLA adherence: first response time and time-to-resolution across ticket severity tiers
Ticket resolution rate without escalation, balanced against escalation quality (routing the right issues to the right specialist)
Client satisfaction on resolved tickets
Contribution to knowledge base growth and reduction in repeat/known issues over time
Why this role matters
This role is a critical building block for our Integrations team as we scale. It ensures every client — not just our largest accounts — gets fast, reliable technical support, and it protects our more specialized Technical Account Managers' ability to focus on the proactive, account-specific work that keeps our most important relationships healthy and growing.
Payment Operations Analyst
The Role
We're looking for a Payments Operations Analyst to keep our money movement rails — ACH, RTP, FedNow, and card networks (Visa and Mastercard) — running smoothly and to be the operational glue between Astra, our sponsor banks, and our clients. You'll work at the intersection of banking operations, product, and client support, monitoring transaction flows, resolving exceptions, and helping scale our sponsor bank relationship as volume grows.
What You’ll Do
Monitor daily transaction activity across ACH, RTP/FedNow, and card rails (AFT/OCT) for anomalies, failures, and settlement issues
Triage and resolve payment exceptions, including ACH returns, AFT/OCT decline codes, and failed settlements
Draft and send day-to-day operational emails to sponsor banks — following up on open items, flagging discrepancies, and pushing issues to resolution
Maintain a running log of open items across bank partners (settlement timing, rate limit requests, network enablement, reconciliation gaps) and drive them toward closure
Investigate and respond to chargebacks and disputes, assembling evidence and tracking cases through to resolution within card network reason codes and timelines
Reconcile network settlement files (Visa/Mastercard/ACH) against internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies
Run SQL queries against production transaction data to support limit increase requests, exception analysis, and ad hoc operational questions
Build projection models (e.g., month-over-month volume growth, peak-day analysis) to support rail-specific limit increase requests with sponsor banks
Support client-facing escalations related to payment failures, delays, or fraud disputes, translating technical rail issues into clear client communication
Document processes and help identify opportunities to automate manual reconciliation and dispute workflows
What We’re Looking For
Required Experience
0–2 years of experience in payments operations, banking operations, or a related fintech/financial services role
Comfortable learning payment rails (ACH, RTP/FedNow, card networks) quickly on the job; no prior deep expertise required
Willingness to write and own external-facing communication with banking partners — this role involves regular, direct written correspondence with bank contacts
Comfortable writing basic SQL queries, or eager to learn quickly (this role runs recurring data pulls against production data)
Strong attention to detail — this role involves reconciling financial data across systems where small discrepancies matter
Ability to manage multiple concurrent open items/threads without letting things fall through the cracks
Comfortable working in a fast-moving startup environment with evolving processes
Ability and willingness to travel up to ~15% annually
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
No specific certifications required, though familiarity with NACHA rules or card network operating regulations is a plus
Technical Skills
Comfortable with SQL for querying transaction data (BigQuery experience a plus)
Proficiency with spreadsheets for reconciliation and reporting
Exposure to payment processing systems, core banking platforms, or similar operational tooling
Preferred Experience
Direct experience with sponsor bank or BaaS (Banking-as-a-Service) relationships
Familiarity with ISO 8583 messaging, NACHA ACH rules, or card network chargeback/dispute processes
Experience working with a bank partner on limit increases, network onboarding, or reconciliation projects
Exposure to fraud or dispute management (e.g., Reg E, chargeback reason codes)
Why This Role Matters
Every dollar that moves through Astra's platform touches this role at some point — whether it's a client's payout succeeding on time, a dispute getting resolved fairly, or a settlement discrepancy getting caught before it becomes a bigger problem. As we expand partners and payment rails, this role is critical to keeping operations reliable, our banking relationships healthy, and our clients confident in the platform.
What We Offer
Competitive compensation with equity in a growing fintech company.
Remote-first culture with flexible working arrangements
Small team, big impact — your work directly supports Astra’s ability to scale responsibly

Demand Generation Manager
The Role
As Astra's first Demand Generation Manager, you will be at the center of how we bring our payments infrastructure to market. This is an opportunity to run integrated campaign strategy and execution in support of pipeline growth. You will own the planning, orchestration, and performance of campaigns built to generate pipeline for the business, across LinkedIn, email, ABM, and field.
You will translate our content, events, and product launches into cohesive, cross-channel campaigns that align marketing, sales, and customer goals. Drawing on an existing library of whitepapers, ebooks, and case studies, your focus will be turning what we've built into demand, and creating the campaign-level assets, ad copy, nurture sequences, and social posts, that carry those campaigns to market.
As the connective tissue across teams, you will make sure campaigns are tightly integrated, well-timed, and optimized for business impact. This role is perfect for someone with the marketing expertise to drive results today and the initiative to run campaigns independently, from plan to pipeline. You’ll take a goal, scope the approach, and run with it.
What You’ll Do
Campaign Strategy & Execution: Plan and run multi-channel demand campaigns, including paid social, LinkedIn, organic, email, and field, that convert Astra's content and positioning into qualified pipeline.
Account-Based Marketing: Build and manage a tier-one target account program, coordinating account-level campaigns and personalized outreach in partnership with sales.
Campaign Operations: Help evaluate, select, and build out the marketing tools and systems we need as the function scales, including automation and reporting.
Pipeline Reporting: Track and report on marketing-sourced pipeline, conversion rates, and cost per opportunity, and use that data to prioritize where to invest next.
Content Activation: Partner with Product Marketing to turn existing whitepapers, ebooks, case studies, and partner content into campaigns that drive measurable demand.
Experimentation: Test new channels, offers, and messaging angles, and scale what works while retiring what doesn't.
What We’re Looking For
Requirements
3-5 years of demand generation or growth marketing experience, ideally at a fast-growing B2B SaaS or fintech company.
Experience running account-based marketing programs, including account selection and coordinated multi-channel campaigns.
Strong campaign copywriting skills, able to write ad copy, nurture emails, and social posts that convert.
CRM proficiency, including building nurture workflows, campaign reporting, and pipeline tracking.
Comfort evaluating, selecting, and standing up new marketing tools and systems as the function scales, not just working within an existing stack.
Proven ability to build and report on a pipeline funnel, from campaign through to marketing-sourced opportunity.
Deep understanding of B2B buyer journeys, with a track record of building repeatable, scalable demand engines.
Experience working cross-functionally with sales to align campaigns to pipeline goals.
Ability and willingness to travel up to ~15% annually
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
Technical Skills
Demand Gen Fundamentals: Funnel building, multi-channel campaign management, and conversion optimization.
ABM Strategy: Account selection methodology, buying committee mapping, and personalized campaign design.
Marketing Technology: CRM proficiency, plus the initiative to help evaluate and build out marketing automation as the function grows, covering campaign execution, reporting, and attribution.
Data-Driven Mindset: Comfort defining and tracking pipeline metrics and using data to guide where to invest next.
Payments Curiosity: Willingness to learn the payments ecosystem (ACH, RTP, card networks) well enough to identify and target the right buyers and accounts.
Preferred Experience
Fintech or Infrastructure Marketing: Previous work marketing B2B fintech products, payment APIs, or developer-focused infrastructure platforms.
Sales Partnership: Experience partnering with sales to align on target accounts and coordinate campaigns, particularly in an ABM context.
Paid Media: Hands-on experience managing paid social and LinkedIn campaigns, including budget, targeting, and optimization.
Marketing Automation: Experience building and scaling email nurture programs and lifecycle campaigns in a marketing automation platform.
Product Marketing Collaboration: Working with product marketing to turn positioning, launches, and content into campaigns that drive pipeline.
Startup Experience: Building marketing functions from the ground up in high-growth environments where you wore multiple hats.
Why This Role Matters
As our Demand Generation Manager, you’ll run the campaigns that connect Astra’s story to the customers who need to hear it. Every campaign, every touchpoint, and every qualified opportunity depends on reaching the right buyers with the right message at the right time.
Your work will:
Generate the qualified pipeline that fuels Astra's growth and gives sales a steady flow of the right opportunities.
Turn our content, launches, and events into coordinated campaigns that reach and convert high-value accounts.
Build the repeatable campaigns and programs that support Astra’s go-to-market motion.
What We Offer
Competitive compensation with equity in a growing fintech company.
Remote-first culture with flexible working arrangements
Small team, big impact — your work directly supports Astra’s ability to scale responsibly
Professional growth in a high-impact role, with the autonomy to run demand and ABM and sharpen your craft as the function scales.
Mission-driven — build infrastructure that powers financial innovation while meeting the highest regulatory standards
Remote Work and Culture
Astra is a remote-first company hiring only within the U.S. We value thoughtful collaboration, clarity, and initiative. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.

Engineering Manager
About Astra
Astra is a high-impact engineering team building mission-critical financial infrastructure. Our fintech platform powers payment processing, fraud detection, and financial compliance for businesses handling 100M+ in weekly transaction volume. We maintain 99.9%+ uptime, process complex cross-border payments, and coordinate with multiple third-party financial services while meeting strict regulatory requirements.
The Role
We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of backend engineers building the systems that power our fintech platform. This is a player-coach role, your primary job is team leadership, delivery, and people development, with enough hands-on technical involvement to stay credible in design discussions and step in when it counts. You'll own the health of your team's execution, from sprint planning to career growth to hiring, while partnering with senior engineers on the architecture decisions that shape payments, fraud detection, compliance, and user management across our distributed systems.
What You'll Do
Lead and Develop Your Team: Manage a team of backend engineers, running a rigorous delivery process, conducting regular 1:1s, and supporting career growth across all levels of the team.
Manage Delivery: Own sprint planning, milestone tracking, and velocity. Catch slipping projects early, remove blockers, and balance technical quality with business speed so the team ships reliably.
Hire and Grow Talent: Own hiring for your team, from screening through onboarding, and build the structures (leveling, mentorship, promotion paths) that help engineers grow.
Build Engineering Culture: Establish the norms, standards, and practices, code review, on-call, planning cadence, that define how your team works day to day.
Partner Across the Organization: Work closely with product, compliance, and other engineering teams to translate business and regulatory needs into a clear execution plan for your team.
Guide Technical Direction: Weigh in on architecture decisions for payment processing, fraud detection, and compliance systems, and make sure your team is set up to make sound technical tradeoffs without you in every decision.
Stay Hands-On: Spend a meaningful chunk of your time in the codebase, code review, design review, and picking up complex work directly, especially where it unblocks the team or where your experience adds the most leverage. This is not a purely managerial role, but management and delivery come first.
What We're Looking For
Requirements
2+ years of experience leading an engineering team, including performance management, hiring, and career development, this is the core of the role
5+ years of overall software engineering experience, with enough recent hands-on depth to stay credible in technical discussions and contribute directly when needed
Demonstrated ability to run a delivery process: sprint planning, milestone tracking, and catching problems before they become fire drills
Experience as a player-coach, comfortable spending most of your time on people and delivery while still being able to step into technical work
Ability and willingness to travel up to ~15% annually
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required
Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited university highly preferred
Technical Skills
Backend Development: Python (we use Python 3), solid understanding of web frameworks and APIs
Database Design: Familiarity with both NoSQL and SQL databases
Cloud Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform or similar
Architecture Patterns: Working familiarity with domain-driven design, clean architecture, and event-driven/microservices patterns, enough to guide and evaluate decisions your team makes
Leadership Skills
Strong track record running 1:1s, performance conversations, and team structure decisions
Data-driven approach to delivery: tracks velocity, cycle time, or similar, not purely gut-feel
Experience integrating into an existing team and earning trust with engineers who didn't choose you
Experience scaling a team through a size transition (e.g., 8 to 15-20), including what structurally needs to change
Strong communicator who can translate technical tradeoffs for non-technical stakeholders
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information
Preferred Experience
Financial Systems: Payment processing, fraud detection, or compliance systems
Financial Regulations: Understanding of AML, KYC, PCI DSS, or similar regulatory frameworks
Banking Integrations: Experience with financial APIs and money movement systems
High-Scale Systems: Experience with systems processing high transaction volumes
Third-Party Integrations: Experience coordinating multiple external service integrations
Why This Role Matters
Direct Impact: You'll lead a core part of a small engineering team building systems that power a growing fintech platform
Team Building: Shape the people, practices, and culture that will carry this team through its next stage of growth
Delivery Ownership: Your rigor around planning and execution directly determines how reliably we ship
Technical Involvement: Stay close enough to the code and architecture to make informed calls and jump in when it matters
Financial Innovation: Build and lead the team building systems that enable new financial products and services
What We Offer
Competitive compensation with equity in a growing fintech company
Remote-first culture with flexible working arrangements
Small team, big impact, your leadership directly shapes our platform and our people
Professional growth, lead a team through a real scaling stage and grow with it
Modern tech stack, work with cutting-edge cloud technologies
Mission-driven, build systems that power financial innovation
Remote Work and Culture
Astra is a remote-first company hiring only within the U.S. We value thoughtful collaboration, clarity, and initiative. We’re proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
How to Apply
We're looking for engineering managers who love building teams as much as building systems, people who can run a tight delivery process, develop engineers, and still bring real technical judgment to the table. If that's you, we'd love to hear from you.
