We are looking for a highly motivated HR Coordinator to join our Human Resources team!
As an HR Coordinator, you will serve as a key resource for HR operations, providing administrative support across functions including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, employee records management, and compliance. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with employees across the organization.
This is an onsite full-time position based in our Fremont CA office.
How You’ll Contribute
Administer all tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, ongoing changes, and offboarding, including but not limited to background checks, initiating new hire onboarding process, maintaining employee files and records in the system, processing on-going changes, and offboarding documentation
Act as the primary HR contact to administer and execute human resource programs and procedures including but not limited to employee referral bonuses, spot bonuses, educational assistance program, intern program, monitoring/responding to employee questions, employment verifications, and unemployment claims
Assist in employee and candidate immigration matters
Generate reports and org charts as well as assist with data analysis for HR metrics, audits, and compliance filings
Assist with recruitment logistics, including reviewing job descriptions, preparing job requisitions, posting positions to external job sites, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates and hiring managers
Assist with equity administration, including but not limited to new hire grants, offboarding share information communication, and other quarterly processes and procedures
Assist with the review and analysis of new HR updates to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, while staying aligned with standard business practices
Assist with HR and Business Operations projects and other job duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an HR support or administrative role
Be able to use computers proficiently, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word PowerPoint, Outlook) and data entry
System savvy. Experience using HR systems and talent acquisition tools such as ATS (Greenhouse), Glassdoor, recruiting platforms, such as Indeed and LinkedIn, is preferred
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and work independently
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Demonstrated ability to build strong and collaborative working relationships with candidates, colleagues, and internal customers
Strong organizational and calendar management skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of HR best practices and employment/labor laws is a plus
At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $28/hour and $32/hour, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base pay only, and do not include equity or benefits. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; paid holidays; paid time off; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.

We are looking for a highly motivated Material Handler I to join our team!
This opportunity is an onsite full-time contracting position based in our Fremont, CA office.
How You’ll Contribute
Inspect incoming deliveries for damage and any unsafe conditions before unloading material from truck
Perform receipt functions and check all material documentation ensuring accuracy, confirming, counts, weights, measures and purchase order number, matching delivery to the purchase order requirements
Maintain and file the shipment receiving documents as records of each receipt
Maintain the receiving area clean and clear, removing any accumulation of received materials in an orderly and timely manner
Perform material picking operations to create material kits per work order system and transact material issues in company computer ERP system in a timely manner and ensure the ERP material transactions are completed at time of shipment
Label and package incoming material for appropriate storage in the designated stockroom locations
Run daily cycle count and reconciliation of material to meet inventory accuracy objectives
Accurately prepare documentation for shipping packages and containers for domestic or international destinations; ensuring address labels, shipping account details, packing lists, international customs documents are complete and accurate for the type of shipment
Liaise with internal functions such as receiving, IQA, purchasing, material planning, manufacturing, and engineering with regard to the receipt or dispatch of expedited items
Follow Ultima Genomics safety policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
High School Diploma or GED required
Previous experience in a shipping or receiving role preferred
Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint)
Proficient in using PLM and ERP, NetSuite experience desired
Forklift Certification preferred
High degree of business ethics and accountability
Very detail oriented and focused on transactions accuracy
Mindset focused on customer service (both internal and external)
Ability to tackle daily tasks with a real sense of priority and urgency
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to stand, bend, crouch, push/pull, lift/move/carry (up to 50 lbs lifting required individually and team lifting up to 75 lbs)
This contracting position offers an hourly pay rate between $23/hour and $25/hour, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

We are looking for a highly motivated Staff Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Oncology Applications team!
As a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist, you will develop and apply computational methods for analyzing next-generation sequencing (NGS) data generated on Ultima’s platform. This role will involve building robust pipelines, developing novel algorithms, collaborating cross-functionally with molecular biology, software engineering, and product teams, and driving insights from complex genomic datasets, with a focus on growing Oncology Applications.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can effectively balance multiple high-impact projects. In addition to core R&D responsibilities, you will contribute to external-facing scientific communications and support collaborations with customers and partners.
This is a full time remote position with preferred locations in San Francisco, Boston, and Washington D.C.
How You’ll Contribute
Develop, optimize, and maintain scalable bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data analysis such as WGS, WES, RNA-seq, and single-cell
Design and implement novel algorithms for secondary and tertiary NGS analysis tailored to Ultima’s sequencing chemistry
Lead and execute multiple projects simultaneously, effectively prioritizing deliverables in alignment with evolving company goals
Perform benchmarking and validation studies
Analyze large-scale genomic datasets and generate actionable insights for internal R&D, product development, and external collaborators
Collaborate closely with wet-lab scientists, software engineers, and product teams to translate experimental results into improved workflows and tools
Support external collaborations by preparing technical analyses, reports, presentations, and data summaries for customers, partners, and conferences
Contribute to scientific publications, application notes, white papers, and other external communication materials as needed
Participate in customer-facing discussions to explain data analysis approaches, performance metrics, and platform capabilities
Document methods clearly and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
Stay current with emerging technologies and advances in genomics, computational biology, machine learning, and cancer biology

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, Computer Science, or related field; or MS with significant industry experience
PhD with 5+ years or MS with 8+ years of hands-on experience analyzing NGS data required
Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
Experience with common bioinformatics and somatic variant calling tools such as BWA, minimap2, GATK, samtools
Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments and workflow management systems (Nextflow, Snakemake, WDL)
Experience working with large datasets in cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
Solid understanding of genomics and cancer biology
Strong statistical and data analysis skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight timelines
Knowledge of machine learning approaches applied to genomics
Clear and confident communicator, comfortable in external-facing settings
Experience in regulated environments (CLIA, CAP) is a plus
Thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with evolving priorities
Demonstrated scientific rigor and analytical thinking
High ownership, accountability, and bias toward action

At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $135,000 and $170,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior EH&S Specialist to join our team!
You are a driven environmental, health and safety professional, with in-depth knowledge of state, federal and international environmental health and safety regulations. As a Senior EH&S Specialist, you will be given the opportunity to implement industry best practices and serve as the subject matter expert on EH&S matters. As such, you will work closely with internal departments, external agencies, and stakeholders to implement safety processes, procedures, or measures to mitigate risks and promote safe working environments.
This is a full time onsite position at our Fremont, CA location.
How You’ll Contribute
Develop, implement and maintain environmental, health and safety policies and procedures in compliance with all relevant regulations, including but not limited to OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA
Where applicable, develop and implement EH&S training strategies and conduct trainings
Assist with management of product and process-related chemical elements
Facilitate a Safety Committee and participate in customer feedback sessions as they relate to the installation, maintenance, and safe operations of our products, including considerations for chemical and wastewater disposal
Assess potential workplace hazards and risks, including general employee safety, and work with Safety Committee to develop strategies and implement safety measures to mitigate them
Own EH&S related documentation such as hazardous waste manifest and profiles, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), handling procedures, storage and recycling, and disposal of biohazardous, and hazardous wastes
Ensure manifesting, packaging, labeling, and loading of all medical, biohazardous, and hazardous waste is accurate and adheres to state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations
Assist in the development and implementation of all company operations concerning the fire, emergency, safety, and environmental programs
Own and maintain the inventory and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with appropriate regulations, policies, practices, and procedures including applicable reports
Maintain accurate data for Chemical Inventory in the buildings and the maintenance of MSDS online library
Oversee the storage of hazardous waste and materials in accordance with appropriate regulations, policies, practices, and procedures
Provide training on EH&S programs, including but not limited to Powered Industrial Trucks (Forklifts), Hazardous Waste Disposal, product wastewater monitoring, new hire orientation and employee safety training
Ensure company compliance and appropriate reporting of hazardous materials inventory to outside agencies
Oversee and coordinate company or consultant crew’s activities during an incident response and clean-up
Serve as the liaison between company and relevant government agencies
Promote a safe working environment for employees, monitor for safe working practices and manage Illness and Injury Prevention Plan and Workplace Violence Prevention Plan
Manage incident and near-miss investigations, identify root causes, and ensure conformance

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Biosciences degree and minimum of 5 years of relevant EH&S experience or EH&S Certification and minimum of 8-10 years of relevant progressive experience
First Aid, CPR, AED certified
Strong knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA and EPA regulations
Working knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 preferred
RCRA / DOT Hazardous Waste certified preferred
40-hr HAZWOPER preferred
Knowledge of international environmental health and safety regulations such as WEEE, RoHS, China RoHS3is a plus
Working knowledge of requirements for handling of genetic material and human derived samples (BSL1 and BSL2) is a plus
Must be proactive, hands-on, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
May be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting/moving/carrying (Up to 25 lbs lifting required)
At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $105,000 and $120,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Strategic Accounts Director, Pharma and Biotech to join our team!
You will be a key member of the Strategic Accounts team supporting the VP, Finance and Business Development in executing Ultima’s strategy in enabling large-scale data generation and engaging with biotech and pharma accounts. Experience in the life science tools or pharma-services space with a consistent track record of commercial success is highly preferred. This role will report to the VP, Finance and Business Development.
How You’ll Contribute
Act as a commercial leader and front-line representative driving Ultima’s adoption in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, with a focus on expanding Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) utilization and driving large data generation initiatives
Build and deepen C-suite and senior-level relationships at strategic biopharma, biotech and techbio accounts; identify customer needs, emerging opportunities, and growth areas to strengthen long-term partnerships
Develop, negotiate, and execute commercial agreements, including collaborations, licensing deals, and other strategic business models, that accelerate revenue growth and market penetration
Manage a pipeline of commercial opportunities across biotech and pharma, from early engagement through deal closure and execution, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
Partner cross-functionally with R&D, product, legal, regulatory, and marketing/sales teams to deliver tailored solutions and ensure operational excellence in business development initiatives
Represent Ultima at industry conferences, meetings, and events, establishing the company as a partner of choice for biopharma customers in genomics and drug development
Drive execution of account plans and tactical actions, ensuring quarterly and annual revenue targets are achieved

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
BS in life sciences, business, or related field required; advanced degree (MS, PhD, or MBA) is strongly preferred
7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or corporate strategy within the life sciences tools or genomics sector, with a proven track record of closing commercial deals with biotech and pharma customers
Deep understanding of NGS technologies, applications, and workflows, particularly in oncology, biomarker discovery, translational research, and clinical trial support
Experience structuring and negotiating complex, stage-gated deals such as licensing, co-development and commercial collaborations
Strong network and established relationships within the biopharma ecosystem (R&D, translational medicine, biomarker strategy, companion diagnostics)
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain executive-level relationships and to drive new revenue streams through business development
Highly strategic thinker with strong execution skills; proven ability to manage a pipeline of opportunities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills with comfort representing the company externally
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for financial modeling and business case development
Willingness to travel up to 50% and reside within 90 minutes of a major airport; preferred locations include San Francisco Bay Area or Boston

We are looking for a highly motivated Associate Strategic Accounts Director, Pharma and Biotech to join our team!
You will be a key member of the Strategic Accounts team supporting the VP, Finance and Business Development in executing Ultima’s strategy in enabling large-scale data generation and engaging with biotech and pharma accounts. Experience in the life science tools or pharma-services space with a consistent track record of commercial success is highly preferred. This role will report to the VP, Finance and Business Development.
How You’ll Contribute
Act as a commercial leader and front-line representative driving Ultima’s adoption in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors, with a focus on expanding Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) utilization and driving large data generation initiatives
Build and deepen C-suite and senior-level relationships at strategic biopharma, biotech and techbio accounts; identify customer needs, emerging opportunities, and growth areas to strengthen long-term partnerships
Develop, negotiate, and execute commercial agreements, including collaborations, licensing deals, and other strategic business models, that accelerate revenue growth and market penetration
Manage a pipeline of commercial opportunities across biotech and pharma, from early engagement through deal closure and execution, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
Partner cross-functionally with R&D, product, legal, regulatory, and marketing/sales teams to deliver tailored solutions and ensure operational excellence in business development initiatives
Represent Ultima at industry conferences, meetings, and events, establishing the company as a partner of choice for biopharma customers in genomics and drug development
Drive execution of account plans and tactical actions, ensuring quarterly and annual revenue targets are achieved

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
BS in life sciences, business, or related field required; advanced degree (MS, PhD, or MBA) is strongly preferred
7+ years of experience in business development, sales, or corporate strategy within the life sciences tools or genomics sector, with a proven track record of closing commercial deals with biotech and pharma customers
Deep understanding of NGS technologies, applications, and workflows, particularly in oncology, biomarker discovery, translational research, and clinical trial support
Experience structuring and negotiating complex, stage-gated deals such as licensing, co-development and commercial collaborations
Strong network and established relationships within the biopharma ecosystem (R&D, translational medicine, biomarker strategy, companion diagnostics)
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain executive-level relationships and to drive new revenue streams through business development
Highly strategic thinker with strong execution skills; proven ability to manage a pipeline of opportunities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and presentation skills with comfort representing the company externally
Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for financial modeling and business case development
Willingness to travel up to 50% and reside within 90 minutes of a major airport; preferred locations include San Francisco Bay Area or Boston
At Ultima Genomics, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays between $150,000 and $200,000, if performed in California, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. This role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) retirement plan; flexible spending & health savings account; paid holidays; paid time off; employee assistance program; and other company benefits.
