CNC / Structural Steel Processing Engineer
About Fluidstack
We exist to make humanity more free. For most of human history, you farmed or you starved. Technology gave people more time for the things they wanted to do, instead of things they had to do. Powerful AI will be the biggest lever for human choice we've ever built - but only if models are aligned with what humanity actually wants. There are groups building AI who don't share these goals. Whoever deploys frontier compute infrastructure fastest will decide whether AI expands human freedom or shrinks it.
We're singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. We acquire power, design and build data centers, and operate them - with teams spanning hardware and software. Speed and scale are our key differentiators. Come be a part of building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.
We hire people who care deeply about this problem space. If that is you, please apply!
How We Operate
Extreme ownership. Full autonomy. Own things end to end often taking on scope outside your core role without being asked to get things done.
Velocity. We drive everything forward as fast as possible.
First principles. Challenge every assumption. Zero analogy thinking, no egos, the best idea wins.
Love of the game. The frontier of AI is the most interesting problem of our time. We put in long hours at high intensity to push the frontier forward.
Role Scope
Own CNC and structural steel processing: beam lines, plate processing, saws, and drills running at takt.
Program and optimize the machines: nesting, tooling, and cycle times that feed downstream without piles.
Commission new steel processing equipment and prove it to rate.
Own the tooling and preventive maintenance strategy so uptime holds through the ramp.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've engineered CNC or steel processing operations in a structural or heavy fabrication environment.
You've programmed beam lines or plate processing equipment.
You nest for material yield and know what a point of yield is worth.
You've owned equipment uptime and driven it with data.
You work the floor with operators, not above them.
Bonus: Peddinghaus, Ficep, or Voortman platforms. CAM systems. Tekla interface. Cutting and drilling process depth.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

Role Scope
Run the projects that put robotics into live sites and the factory: pilots, installs, and scale-up.
Coordinate robot vendors, integrators, and site teams from first survey to steady-state operation.
Own the deployment playbook: safety, commissioning, training, and support, so site two is easier than site one.
Track performance after go-live and force the fix-or-pull decision on underperforming cells.
What We're Looking For
The below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.
You've deployed robotics, automation cells, or heavy equipment into operating environments.
You've managed integrator and vendor scopes to acceptance criteria you wrote.
You take safety reviews seriously enough to stop a job over one.
You've turned a pilot into a repeatable rollout kit.
You measure post-deployment reality, uptime and throughput, and act on it.
Bonus: Industrial robotics platforms. Data center or manufacturing environments. Functional safety basics. Field commissioning.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

Set the engineering standards for a team shipping against live infrastructure.
Carry the hardest problems: closed-loop control paths, simulation, and rollout strategy across the fleet.

You've led teams building software that controls or automates physical systems.
You've designed act-on-plant paths with interlocks, authorization, and audit.
You've taken automation from one site to many with a real rollout model.
Your architecture decisions balance speed with the blast radius of being wrong.
You still write the critical code.
Bonus: Controls background (PLC, BMS). Digital twin and simulation. Energy systems. Safety-critical software practices.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

You've engineered mechanical or HVAC systems for data centers or industrial plants.
You've modeled thermal systems dynamically, not just at steady state.

You quantify risk in operating terms: degrees, minutes, and margins.
You work jointly with controls engineers as one system team.
Bonus: Liquid cooling. Dynamic simulation (Modelica, TRNSYS) or CFD. Thermal storage. Psychrometrics depth.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.

The Accounting Team
Examples of key problems the team is working on
Build the financial infrastructure from the ground up (NetSuite, Zip, Shareworks, Pigment).
Stand up a lean finance org for the fastest-growing data center hyperscaler.
Own the full stack from vendor invoice to cap table.
Role Scope
Own indirect tax globally: VAT, GST, and sales and use tax across a multi-entity, multi-country footprint.
Build compliance from the ground up: registrations, filings, and reclaim processes in every jurisdiction we build in.
Advise on transaction structuring, equipment imports, cross-border services, and intercompany flows before the invoice exists.
Automate determination and filing so compliance scales with entities, not headcount.
What We're Looking For

Bonus: US sales and use tax on data center equipment. EU and UK VAT depth. Avalara or Vertex. Customs interplay.
We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
