About EliseAI
At EliseAI, we're improving the industries that matter most: housing and healthcare. Everyone needs a place to live and access to quality healthcare, yet both are often harder to secure than they should be.
By integrating AI agents deeply into existing workflows, we make them more efficient, reduce costs, and improve the experience for everyone.
Housing: We simplify how renters tour apartments, sign leases, submit maintenance requests, and stay connected with their property team—bringing everything they need for their home into one place.
Healthcare: We make it easy to schedule appointments, complete intake forms, and we help patients communicate with providers, so everyone can focus on health instead of paperwork.
With EliseAI, organizations reduce manual work, improve accessibility, and deliver a seamless experience across essential services. We recently raised a $250 million Series E round led by Andreessen Horowitz to accelerate this mission.
About The Role
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Specialist will support end-to-end execution of the company's Accounts Payable function—managing credit card coding and reconciliation, driving vendor reconciliations across multiple entities, collaborating on daily cash reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of day-to-day AP operations. EliseAI is growing its in-house Accounting department to create a top-tier team that drives the company's growth by supporting other business functions and providing insights into business performance. The position is based at our New York City headquarters.

Help collect and maintain vendor information, including contacts, banking details, and tax documentation (e.g., W-9/W-8)
Support the preparation and processing of weekly payment runs, including ACH, wire transfers, and check writing
Assist with daily bank reconciliations and help research and resolve outstanding items
Co-Administer with administering the AP platform and the company's credit card software (NetSuite and Ramp or similar), including reviewing and coding a high volume of monthly credit card transactions, validating AP bills, and setting up vendors
Assist with month-end close processes, including AP accruals, cutoff procedures, and balance sheet reconciliations
Help process transactions across multi-entity and multi-currency payment structures, including cost center and inter-company considerations
Assist with additional accounting assignments and special projects as needed
Move at rocket speed, build something massive.
We’re scaling fast, solving real client problems with precision and ambition. Here, you own your impact; full autonomy, no micromanagement, no fluff.
We hire the best, expect the best, and give you the masterclass of your career. It’s hard, it’s intense, and it’s the most rewarding work you’ll ever do. If you’re hungry, driven, and ready to build something massive, climb aboard.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred; major in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field preferred
Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts payable; high-growth enterprise, SaaS experience preferred
Experience with accounting ERP systems in previous role(s) (NetSuite experience preferred)
Experience with Ramp or a similar corporate card / AP automation platform is a plus
Strong understanding of full-cycle AP, including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment runs
Familiarity with multi-currency transactions and processing is a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage high invoice volumes with accuracy and attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications, with advanced skills in Excel
Direct and clear communicator, both written and verbal. Not afraid to speak up
Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in continuous process improvement
Willingness to work in person at our office 4-5 days a week

Either way, the rest of the team will be here to support you.

Equity in the company in the form of stock options

The Future Platforms Team - Executing on EliseAI’s Future Products
The Future Platforms team is responsible for executing on the next generation of AI products and business lines. This team will blend go-to-market, product, operations, and strategy with a mandate to push the frontier of AI and own everything required to take them from idea to market leadership.
Our goal is to take Elise from agentic AI to truly end-to-end autonomous operations, fundamentally transforming how housing operators run their businesses and how residents experience their homes.
Future Platforms will operate as a startup within a startup, run like a Seed or Series A company but with the capital, resources, and market access of a well-funded Series E, deep C-suite involvement (CEO, CRO, CSO, CTO) and founder-level ownership from day one.
About The Role
As an Engagement Lead on the Future Platforms team, you will help found and scale a critical function at EliseAI: delivering our accounting platform from initial deployment through full operational adoption.
You will own the accounting layer of complex engagements, serving as the primary driver of successful implementations across multiple clients at once. This means working directly with Controllers, CFOs, and accounting teams to scope workflows, configure systems, drive key decisions, and ensure a clean transition into live operations.
This is a highly cross-functional, execution-heavy role at the intersection of accounting, product, and customer success. Because the platform is early and evolving quickly, you won’t just execute implementations—you’ll help define how they’re done, building scalable systems and playbooks from the ground up.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong accounting intuition with a builder mindset, and wants to operate like a founder in a fast-scaling environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own accounting engagement success end-to-end
Drive the accounting portion of multiple concurrent engagements, from late-stage sales handoff through post-launch stabilization
Roll off accounts once they are fully live and operating successfully on the platform
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and operational readiness across all accounting workflows
Lead accounting discovery, scoping, and decisioning
Partner with senior accounting stakeholders (Controllers, CFOs, Finance teams) to understand current-state workflows and define future-state processes
Drive critical implementation decisions, such as:
Bank account onboarding strategy
Vendor onboarding and payment workflows
Chart of accounts structure and usage
Transaction and charge code design
Translate ambiguous accounting needs into clear system configurations and requirements
Own configuration and implementation
Lead hands-on accounting setup, including:
Chart of accounts (COA) configuration
Vendor and entity setup
Mapping of transactions and workflows
Manage detailed back-and-forth with clients to gather, validate, and refine data inputs
Ensure integrity and correctness of client-provided materials (e.g., validating GL structures, identifying inconsistencies, resolving gaps)
Drive migration and post-launch success
Ensure full readiness for data migration and system cutover
Lead post-launch activities, including:
Reconciliations and validation of financial data
Stabilization of accounting workflows in the new system
Kickstarting close processes and operational rhythms
Act as the primary owner of a clean, accurate transition into the platform
Enable adoption and training
Run trainings, walkthroughs, and tailored demos for accounting teams
Ensure end users are confident operating within the new system
Identify and resolve adoption blockers early
Build scalable systems and playbooks
Turn implementation learnings into repeatable processes, templates, and best practices
Partner with Product and Engineering to surface gaps and improve accounting workflows
Help define what “great” looks like for accounting implementations at scale
Move at rocket speed, build something massive.

Requirements
We’re looking for someone who blends accounting expertise with strong execution and ownership:
5–8 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, product management, and/or founder/operator roles at high-growth startups
Background in accounting or finance (e.g., former Controller, Senior Accountant, accounting consultant, or accounting-focused operator), ideally in a high-growth or tech-enabled environment
Experience managing complex, client-facing implementations or projects
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals (GL, reconciliations, close process, workflows)
Comfortable getting into the weeds with data, configurations, and systems
Excellent communicator who can build trust with senior finance stakeholders
Highly organized and able to manage multiple concurrent engagements under tight timelines
Autonomous, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in ambiguity
Willingness to work in person at our office 4-5 days a week

About The Role
EliseAI’s Finance team is responsible for building a scalable, high-integrity financial foundation to support the company’s rapid growth. As we scale, accounting cannot rely on manual processes—we are intentionally building a function that is automated, system-driven, and designed to operate efficiently at scale.
As an Accounting Manager/Lead you’ll play a central role in both operating and rebuilding how accounting works at Elise. You’ll own key areas of the close while also identifying opportunities to automate, streamline, and redesign workflows across the team
Day to day, that means owning core accounting operations while continuously pushing toward a faster, more reliable, and lower-touch close. You’ll work within our existing tools and systems to implement automation, improve data flows, and create processes that can scale with the business. You’ll bring strong accounting judgment, attention to detail, and a builder mindset to reduce complexity and drive efficiency across the function.
Key Responsibilities
Own core areas of the month-end close (GL, reconciliations, accruals, reporting) while actively redesigning how the close is executed
Identify manual, fragmented workflows and replace them with automated, system-driven processes
Build automation across accounting operations (recs, journal entries, data ingestion, reporting) with the goal of reducing human intervention
Take full ownership of improving close speed, reliability, and scalability, while continuously pushing toward a low-touch close
Design and implement standardized workflows that eliminate inconsistency and reduce dependency on tribal knowledge
Own and optimize financial systems (ERP and adjacent tools) as a core part of the role, not just usage, but how they are structured and leveraged
Ensure financial data is clean, structured, and flows correctly across systems, proactively fixing root causes
Rethink and evolve core structures (chart of accounts, mappings, reporting logic) to support scale from first principles
Actively seek out inefficiencies and build solutions end-to-end, rather than working around broken processes
Balance speed and automation with strong controls, ensuring systems are both efficient and audit-ready
Move at rocket speed, build something massive.
We’re scaling fast, solving real client problems with precision and ambition. Here, you own your impact; full autonomy, no micromanagement, no fluff.

Requirements
We’re looking for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with a builder mindset:
Background in accounting (e.g., public accounting, Big 4, or in-house at a high-growth company), with strong understanding of core processes (close, GL, reconciliations, reporting, controls)
Strong inclination toward automation and efficiency; you naturally look for ways to eliminate manual work and reduce complexity
Experience working with ERP systems and accounting tools, with an understanding of how systems should be structured to scale
Comfortable working with large datasets, data flows, and identifying root causes of discrepancies
High attention to detail with strong ownership over accuracy and outcomes
Bias toward action and ability to independently drive improvements end-to-end
Strong problem-solving skills and comfort operating in ambiguity
Ability to balance speed, automation, and strong controls in a high-growth environment
Excited to help build a modern, system-driven accounting function from the ground up
Willingness to work in person at our office 4-5 days a week
