As a Staff Flight Test Engineer / Test Director, you will serve as the end-to-end Test Director for the integration, verification, and flight test of Hivemind Mission Autonomy on small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). You will own the technical direction, execution, and readiness of test campaigns, applying a fly–fix–fly methodology to rapidly mature autonomy capabilities from simulation and lab environments through flight.

Required qualifications:
B.S. degree in a STEM discipline (Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field)
7+ years of experience in system integration and test, including SIL, HIL, simulation, and flight test environments
Demonstrated experience leading test execution, including authority over test conduct, readiness, and risk decisions
Strong background working cross-functionally with systems engineering, software, hardware, safety, and program management teams
Highly organized and methodical, with the ability to manage complex, fast-paced test campaigns
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including briefing technical status to leadership and customers

About the Role:
We are looking for a Head of Analysis to build and lead the analysis organization within our Launch & Propulsion division. Reporting to the Head of Launch & Propulsion, you will be the technical authority for all analytical substantiation of our engines and vehicle structures—owning the methods, tools, standards, and team that produce the structural, thermal, and fluid dynamics analyses underpinning every design decision and flight-readiness argument. ABOUT THE JOB
The Senior Fellow, Energetic Safety is the company’s foremost technical authority for the safe manufacture, handling, processing, integration, transportation, storage, shipment, and disposal of energetic materials. As the enterprise subject matter expert, this individual establishes the technical vision, governance, and standards that ensure the safe execution of all operations involving energetic materials while enabling the company’s strategic business objectives.
The Senior Fellow provides technical leadership across the entire lifecycle of energetic products, including propellant ingredients, solid rocket motors, energetic components, missile assembly, and the safe integration of warheads into missile systems to produce all-up rounds (AURs). The Senior Fellow partners closely with the Lethality organization to ensure the safe manufacture, handling, integration, transportation, storage, and shipment of completed weapon systems.
In addition, the Senior Fellow serves as the enterprise technical authority for the planning, design, construction, commissioning, expansion, and modernization of facilities used to manufacture, process, integrate, store, and ship energetic materials. This role ensures that new and existing facilities are designed using sound explosive safety, process safety, and inherently safer design principles while supporting efficient, scalable manufacturing operations.
As a recognized technical leader, the Senior Fellow advises executive leadership, mentors technical talent, establishes enterprise standards, and represents the company with customers, regulatory agencies, government organizations, and industry forums.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Serve as the company’s highest-level technical authority on energetic safety.
Establish the enterprise technical strategy and governance for energetic safety across all business units and programs.
Develop, approve, and maintain enterprise standards governing the manufacture, processing, handling, transportation, storage, integration, shipment, and disposal of energetic materials.
Provide technical oversight for operations involving:
Serve as the enterprise technical authority for the design, expansion, modernization, and commissioning of facilities supporting energetic manufacturing and operations.
Establish explosive safety design criteria for new facilities, production lines, magazines, storage areas, and integration facilities.
Review and approve facility layouts, equipment installations, process modifications, and capital projects to ensure compliance with explosive safety and process safety requirements.
Ensure facility and manufacturing process designs incorporate inherently safer design principles, risk reduction methodologies, and operational resilience.
Lead or provide technical oversight for Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Process Hazard Reviews (PHR), Explosive Safety Site Plans (ESSP), Hazard Classification, Quantity-Distance (Q-D) analyses, and other explosive and process safety assessments.
Establish enterprise requirements for explosive operating limits, magazine operations, facility siting, lightning protection, fire protection, blast mitigation, and personnel protection.
Review and approve explosive operating procedures, safety documentation, and risk acceptance packages.
Lead investigations of energetic incidents, near misses, and process anomalies, identifying root causes and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions.
Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Facilities Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Strategic Real Estate, and the Lethality organization to integrate energetic safety into products, processes, and facilities.
Monitor emerging technologies, evolving regulations, and industry best practices, incorporating them into company standards.
Mentor engineers, Chief Engineers, Fellows, and technical leaders while developing the next generation of energetic safety experts.
Represent the company during customer reviews, government audits, regulatory inspections, DDESB reviews, and industry technical working groups.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science, Safety Engineering, Explosives Engineering, or a related technical discipline..
Minimum of 20 years of progressively responsible experience involving energetic materials, rocket propulsion, missile systems, explosive manufacturing, or defense production operations.
Recognized industry expert in energetic safety with demonstrated enterprise-level technical leadership across complex aerospace or defense programs.
Extensive experience with:
Solid rocket motors
Composite and double-base propellants
Energetic material manufacturing
Missile production and all-up-round (AUR) integration
Explosive safety analysis and risk management
Facility design for energetic manufacturing and storage operations
Demonstrated experience leading the explosive safety and process safety aspects of new facility design, facility expansion, or major modernization projects involving energetic materials
Expert knowledge of:
DoD 4145.26, DoD Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards
Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB) requirements and applicable Technical Papers (including Quantity-Distance criteria and facility design guidance)
OSHA Process Safety Management (29 CFR 1910.119)
Department of Transportation hazardous materials regulations
OSHA, NFPA, ATF, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulations governing energetic materials and explosive operations.
Demonstrated ability to establish enterprise technical standards, influence executive decision-making, and guide capital investment strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership, customers, regulatory agencies, and government organizations

About the Role:
This is a high ownership role on a fast moving team! You will own the hydrodynamic design of the rocket engine's turbopumps: driving the engine- and vehicle-level design trades, predicting head, flow, efficiency, and suction margin across the operating box, following the hardware from concept through build, and proving its performance on the test stand. This includes inducers, impellers, diffusers and volutes, inlet and discharge flowpaths, the internal leakage and cavity flow network, and the axial thrust balance.
Responsibilities:
Own pump primary and secondary flowpath hydrodynamic design from concept through qualification.
Drive hydrodynamic design for maximum efficiency and suction performance while meeting head-rise, axial thrust, and rotordynamic requirements.
Ensure hardware meets performance across the full operating box—start transients, deep throttle, off-nominal inlet NPSH, and repeated cycles.
Lead hydrodynamic analysis (meanline/throughflow, single- and multiphase CFD) and validate against powerpack and engine test data.
Define and execute pump test campaigns.
Work directly with manufacturing to iterate quickly and resolve fabrication and assembly issues.
Support hot-fire operations, anomaly investigation, and post-test hardware inspection and design iteration improvement cycles.
Develop tools and best practices for the rest of the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
12+ years of experience in turbomachinery hydrodynamic or aerodynamic design and analysis for flight hardware or high-performance rotating machinery.
Experience with pump sizing, specific speed and suction specific speed selection, blade and passage geometry definition, and material selection for pumped-fluid compatibility.
Experience with secondary flow and axial thrust analysis—leakage and cavity flow networks, balance piston, thrust piston, and wear ring sizing, seal and bearing coolant circuits, and net thrust balance across the operating box.
Hands-on experience taking rotating hardware from design through build and test.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with liquid cryogenic rocket engine turbopumps or reusable propulsion systems.
Strong background in cavitation and suction performance, including thermodynamic suppression head and cavitation instabilities.
Experience with turbine aerodynamics—nozzle and blade row design.
Experience integrating hydro, aero, secondary flow and/or thrust balance results with rotordynamics and structural teams.
Familiarity with cryogenic fluids and/or high-speed, high-power-density rotors.
Proficiency with CFD and meanline/throughflow tools and ability to correlate to real-world test data.
Experience mentoring or leading engineers.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $170,000 – $250,000 annually. The actual base salary offered will depend on factors such as job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

The Problem
As Flock expands as a multi-product company, our physical camera and solar infrastructure footprint across public and private environments is growing. Maintaining seamless operational readiness requires hands-on technical execution across both brand-new site deployments and critical ongoing hardware maintenance. You will install, align, and service our solar panels, cameras, and infrastructure directly in the field, keeping safety hardware operating reliably across every community we serve.
What You'll Own
Execute physical hardware installations and maintenance across camera systems, solar panels, batteries, and mounting poles.
Conduct thorough site surveys with public safety partners and property owners to verify traffic control plans and permit compliance.
Perform physical site preparation including post-hole digging, mounting hardware, and aligning LPR and PTZ cameras.
Diagnose and repair field hardware, software connections, and minor underground private wiring or irrigation disruptions.
Document completed installations, inventory logs, and service records directly through the mobile field application while managing local equipment shipments.
Demonstrate hands-on mechanical aptitude with power and hand tools, including comfort operating ladders, bucket trucks, and lifts at heights up to 30 feet.
Operate field vehicles and tow support trailers safely while adhering to environmental and workplace safety protocols.
What This Role is Not
This isn't a desk-based or remote troubleshooting role, you'll be outdoors in the field every day working on rooftops, ladders, and bucket trucks in all weather conditions.
This is not solely a new-installation or single-product job, your time will be split between new deployments and ongoing fleet maintenance across cameras, solar systems, and mobile trailers.
This isn't a fixed-schedule local role, you will travel up to 50% across your region with dynamic schedules that adapt to customer site needs.
What You Bring
Practical experience in low-voltage wiring, electrical assembly, construction, or technical field service environments.
Ability to meet physical field requirements, including lifting equipment up to 50 lbs and working outdoors independently across dynamic daily routes.
Capability to drive service vans, trucks, and tow small equipment trailers safely across public and private roadways.
