💻 The Role
The Business Operations Manager / Senior Manager plays a significant role in building the functions to unlock growth and help the Company scale. Working directly with Whatnot's leadership team, this role will work cross-functionally to lead large, critical initiatives and solve complicated, unstructured problems.
This role is a terrific introduction to Whatnot, and allows impactful individuals to learn about the business while contributing to a variety of high-impact, critical initiatives.
Take Whatnot global: Our team helped launch Whatnot across the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Canada, and is now focused on helping these markets scale — partnering with Product and Engineering to ensure international needs are built into scalable, global solutions, conducting primary research to identify high-impact opportunities across product, pricing, and incentives, and owning the key metrics that define success in each market including buyer and seller funnels, growth, marketing investments, and margin dynamics
Scale our marketing engine: As Whatnot dramatically scales its investment in marketing, bring business-side rigor to how capital is deployed, measured, and prioritized — deep-diving into complex channel decisions, building nascent capabilities, and ensuring the org and hiring roadmap keeps pace with our ambitions
Build a great business: Partner with StratFin and Data to ensure we are building a healthy, durable business — leading analyses across our key margin levers and growth investments, informing pricing decisions, and translating findings into concrete recommendations and actions for leadership
Help Whatnot run better: Build tooling to serve as a single source of truth for tracking progress against aggressive goals, highlighting key metrics, resource allocation, and blockers — helping teams stay lean and iterate faster
Deliver for our users: Be among the first to pressure-test new products and capabilities Whatnot is building, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations to translate what we learn into initiatives that improve the buyer and seller experience — and owning resolution of high-impact issues end-to-end when things go wrong
