Business Operations Lead
We’re supercharging the clean economy
Crux is the capital markets platform changing the way clean energy and manufacturing projects are financed in the U.S. Crux’s platform, market intelligence, and expert team help developers and manufacturers unlock financing through all stages of project development and operation.
Our team of 120+ is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, government, and technology. We have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.
An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing
Energy demand is growing for the first time in 20 years, driven by surging manufacturing, transportation, electrification, and data centers. Simultaneously, hundreds of billions of dollars are being invested in domestic supply chains for critical minerals and components. Developers and manufacturers will require trillions of dollars in capital to meet growing needs.
Unfortunately, the capital markets supporting this transformation remain opaque, fragmented, and complex. At Crux, we recognized the missing infrastructure: a central capital markets platform designed specifically for the next century of American energy and industry. By connecting counterparties, providing market intelligence, and streamlining transactions, we unlock faster decision making, lower cost of capital, and accelerated investment.
The Role
We are hiring a BizOps Lead to design and deploy automation-first infrastructure in our Capital Solutions Business Execution team. This role is tailored for a problem-solver who blends a deep understanding of financial and diligence operations with a tool-savvy mindset, someone who’s excited to identify bottlenecks, automate manual processes, and craft robust internal systems that help Crux scale.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role embedded deeply within our commercial teams. You’ll be instrumental in eliminating friction across go-to-market workflows, leveraging tools like HubSpot, Claude Code, and n8n, and pushing the envelope on how we use automation and AI to streamline operations, optimize our GTM motion, and enhance customer experience.
We believe that the right hire will help us build stable and scalable service delivery systems that support Crux’s growth while continually optimizing for customer satisfaction. The number one skillset we’re looking for in this role is problem scoping & execution – being able to take ambiguous and complex problem spaces, identify the core issues, prioritize across multiple solutions, and relentlessly drive toward completion.
If you have a background in working with investment teams and are energized by a scrappy environment, fast feedback cycles, and the chance to deeply shape how a platform grows from Series B into scale, we want to talk.
What you’ll do
Design and deploy systems: Build automation-driven systems that support structured product workflows and eliminate friction across the Business Execution team and their diligence efforts.
Eliminate manual work: Identify high-leverage repetitive tasks – deal evaluation, due diligence, internal handoffs, and compliance – and design scrappy, scalable automation to replace them.
Own cross-functional service delivery infra: Build reliable service infrastructure across GTM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Omni, internal systems) that enable commercial, marketing, and PDE teams to operate with higher precision and less manual intervention.
Experiment and implement quickly: Move fast on scoped MVPs, leverage off-the-shelf tooling creatively, and iterate toward operational excellence.
Use AI to accelerate process design: Champion use of AI-powered tools and workflows to accelerate internal processes and enhance customer-facing systems.
Collaborate with technical & commercial teams: Partner closely with Commercial, Growth, Product, and Engineering to ensure systems are robust, business-aligned, and adopted.
Instrument systems with data & insights: Stand up analytics and reporting systems to track performance, surface opportunities, and drive iterative improvement.
Who you are
6+ years of experience in business operations, strategic operations, management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, finance, or a similarly rigorous analytical environment.
Experience applying AI, automation, or modern technology tools to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, or enable better business decision-making.
Experience partnering with investment, finance, or transaction teams, with an understanding of investment evaluation, due diligence, compliance, or complex transaction workflows.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across business, finance, product, engineering, and operations, building alignment and driving execution across multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated track record of solving ambiguous, high-impact business problems by identifying root causes, prioritizing opportunities, and designing scalable operational processes and systems.
Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth or startup environment, with a history of building new processes, iterating quickly, and balancing short-term execution with long-term scalability.

Role Description
Phantom is looking for a Head of Business & Corporate Development to lead our partnerships, strategic intelligence, and M&A functions. You will be Phantom's outward-facing business leader — deepening and diversifying partnerships across crypto and traditional fintech to unlock and extend foundational capabilities, drive distribution and revenue, and develop the pipeline of inorganic opportunities that close capability gaps faster than we could build or hire. You'll sit within the Ops Org alongside BizOps and Communications — the business layer of Phantom — and serve as the internal expert that leadership reaches out to for everything from market intelligence to deal execution.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Partnerships
Partner with Product to launch and scale major business lines, unlocking foundational capabilities through strategic partnerships
Lead business development strategy across user growth, monetization, and platform expansion
Own revenue targets, measuring impact and deepening integration across the product stack
Corporate Development & Strategic Intelligence
Map the competitive landscape and build market intelligence that provides a real point of view on where the space is heading
Build and maintain a pipeline of inorganic options that close capability gaps and accelerate key metrics
Own deal processes end-to-end – sourcing, diligence, negotiation, closing, and integration
Deliver execution-ready recommendations, not research reports — every output actionable on receipt
Qualifications
A leader with 10+ years of experience spanning business development, partnerships, corporate development, M&A, or strategy — or a combination of investing and operator backgrounds
Deep knowledge of the crypto and/or fintech ecosystem, with a strong network in Solana and beyond; you are plugged in, get calls from founders and investors, and have a genuine point of view on where things are heading
Demonstrated track record of making calls that influenced executive decision-making or product direction — and driving action as a result
Meaningful deal experience across partnerships and/or M&A: you can speak to specific transactions, what you owned, and what you learned
A cross-functional operator — comfortable collaborating across Product, Engineering, Ops, Marketing, and Finance
A strategic negotiator — skilled at structuring deals with decentralized protocols, regulated financial players, and acquisition targets alike
Exceptional judgment and prioritization; ability to move at speed with 80/20 thinking — you know what to prioritize and what to deprioritize, and you don't confuse activity with impact
Strong written and verbal communication — crisp memos, curated analysis, clear narratives
Experience managing a lean team, or a proven high performer who can take on management duties
We strongly encourage candidates of all backgrounds to apply. We believe that our work is stronger with a variety of perspectives, and we’re eager to further diversify our company. If you have a background that you feel would make an impact at Phantom, please consider applying. We’re committed to building an inclusive, supportive place for you to do the best work of your career.
