We have offices in San Francisco, New York, Denver, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, Mexico City, and remote team members across the US and Europe. We hope that you'll be interested in joining us!
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced sustainability professional to join our growing Sustainability Advisory team. The team serves as a strategic advisor to Watershed's customers https://watershed.com/en-GB/customers, including more than 20% of the Fortune 500, helping them advance their corporate sustainability programs.
Our primary areas of focus include:
- Decarbonization planning and execution across Scopes 1-3
- Climate target setting, (e.g., SBTi-aligned targets)
- Voluntary and regulatory disclosures, (e.g., CSRD, UK SRS, CDP)
Beyond customer engagements, the Sustainability Advisory team serves as a trusted internal source of expertise. We partner with the Product team to bring sustainability intelligence into the Watershed platform, and with the Go-to-Market team to strengthen Watershed’s expertise, differentiation, and thought leadership.
In this role, you’ll be a highly trusted advisor to sustainability leaders at some of the world’s largest and most consequential companies. You’ll help shape sustainability strategies that make business sense, create the foundation for bold action, and advance progress on complex climate and environmental challenges. You’ll also help build the market-leading corporate sustainability platform by supporting teams across Watershed.
This role is intended for candidates with experience at the Senior Manager or Engagement Manager level, or above, at a leading consulting firm. The scope, autonomy, business acumen, and sustainability expertise required are comparable to those expected at that level or above.
YOU WILL
- Advise sustainability leaders at many of the world’s leading companies on advancing their sustainability programs. You’ll independently lead strategic engagements across target setting, decarbonization, environmental impact management, and voluntary and regulatory reporting. Working closely with customers, you’ll develop practical strategies and build the business case for sustainability throughout their journey.
- Build sustainability intelligence by staying ahead of emerging frameworks, regulations, and market developments. You’ll translate the latest sustainability trends and regulatory changes into clear, actionable guidance for customers and internal teams, helping them remain compliant, competitive, and prepared for what’s next.
- Help develop new products and services by exploring emerging sustainability needs across topics and industries. You’ll prototype new ways to create value for customers and expand Watershed’s impact at the intersection of sustainability, advisory, and technology.
- Shape Watershed’s expertise and point of view by contributing to thought leadership, customer-facing materials, and internal enablement. You’ll help establish Watershed as a trusted partner for companies navigating the future of corporate sustainability.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 10+ years of professional experience, including at least 4 years at a consulting firm in client-facing roles and at least 4 years working in sustainability.
- Deep expertise in corporate decarbonization and familiarity with key climate frameworks, including the GHG Protocol, PCAF, SBTi, ISO standards, and relevant reporting frameworks and regulations such as CSRD, LSRS, CCDAA, ASRS, ISSB, and CDP.
- The ability to think clearly about complex problems and work confidently with data. You are systematic, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. You can present complex analyses and recommendations to C-suite audiences and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A track record of driving strategic initiatives in complex organizations. You can influence decision-making while managing multiple internal and external stakeholders across organizational levels.
- A strong interest in solving climate change and enthusiasm for helping define the future of corporate sustainability at a high-growth company.
NICE TO HAVE
- Fluency in multiple languages, such as English, Spanish, French, or German.
Must be willing to work from an office 4 days per week (except for remote roles)
Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City and satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin. Where we have offices, employees are expected to be in office for 4 days per week. Certain jobs are open to being remote and will be specifically noted on the jobs page and in the job description if so.
What’s the interview process like?
It starts the same for every candidate: getting to know the team members through 1 to 2 conversations about Watershed, your experience, and your interests. Next steps can vary by role, but usual next steps are a skill or experience interview (e.g. a coding interview for an engineer, a portfolio review for a designer, deeper experience call for other roles) which leads to a virtual or in person interview panel. We prioritize transparency and lack of surprise throughout the process.
What if I need accommodations for my interview?
At Watershed, we are dedicated to ensuring an inclusive recruitment process. We provide reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities, long-term conditions, mental health needs, religious observances, neurodivergence, or pregnancy-related support requirements. We have offices in San Francisco, New York, Denver, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, Mexico City, and remote team members across the US and Europe. We hope that you'll be interested in joining us!
THE ROLE
Watershed is on a mission to help companies measure, reduce, remove, and report their emissions. We're looking for a strategic operator to join GTM Operations, focused on our Customer organization, which runs the programs that deliver on that mission for hundreds of enterprise customers.
You'll partner closely with Customer leadership to design and build the operational backbone for Customer Success, Advisory, and Support - including engagement models, scalable systems, whitespace, forecasting, and AI-driven workflows our team relies on to deliver for customers.
This is a role for a builder - someone who ships what they design and has already rewired their day around AI. You'll have real scope to define what modern Customer operations looks like at Watershed, and leadership will expect you to push the function forward.
Success means a Customer organization where leadership trusts the retention forecast, customer health scoring actually changes decisions, and AI is embedded in how the team operates day-to-day. You'll own the pace at which these things land.
This role can be based in our New York or San Francisco offices.
You will:
- Partner with Customer leadership to design scalable operating models for the Customer organization, including:
- Organizational design and customer engagement models
- Target setting and performance frameworks
- Headcount, capacity planning, and segmentation
- Build the data infrastructure that gives leadership real-time visibility into retention, expansion, product adoption, customer health, and team performance. Combine CRM, product usage, and operational data to surface risks and opportunities, partnering closely with Data and Systems teams to ship.
- Own retention forecasting and predictive analytics from the ground up - methodology, models, and operating cadences that leadership actually trusts.
- Ship AI-first operational workflows across the customer lifecycle - post-sale handoffs, onboarding, ongoing engagement, and renewal motions - and the internal tooling that changes how the team operates day-to-day.
- Run core Customer operating cadences with leadership - forecasting reviews, customer performance reviews, QBRs, and planning cycles - and drive the cross-functional initiatives that sharpen implementation, retention, and expansion.
The ideal candidate brings:
- You've spent time inside a customer-facing GTM function (CS, Implementation, Support, CSM leadership). You know what it's like to own a retention number, diagnose churn risk, or deliver on a customer commitment.
- 5+ years in a customer-side GTM operations or leadership role (Customer Ops, CS Ops, or adjacent functions) at high-growth B2B SaaS or AI companies. Revenue Ops or Sales Ops backgrounds welcome if paired with real customer-side operating depth.
- You're hands-on with Salesforce (Flow, validation, data model), SQL, and BI tools like Sigma or Looker. You're able to build your own systems and partner with GTM Engineering on the bigger lifts.
- AI is already embedded in how you work, and you have a point of view on where it changes how Customer and GTM teams operate. Experience with Claude Code, Cursor, Clay, or similar is a strong plus.
- Track record of shipping hard things end-to-end under real pressure. Direct, demanding of yourself, and comfortable driving alignment across Customer, Product, Data, Sales, and Finance when teams disagree.

If you need assistance during your process, please contact your recruiter.

What you’ll do:
- Own success for a small set of high-value customers, driving retention, growth, and impact.
- Build trusted executive relationships, showing how sustainability data drives strategy.
- Lead planning and governance with customers through roadmaps and executive reviews.
- Represent the customer internally to shape product priorities and strategy.

You might be a fit if you:
- 7+ years in enterprise SaaS (CSM, consulting, or solutions) with global strategic accounts.
- Proven success building executive relationships and driving retention and expansion.
- Strong communicator with C-suite presence, able to link sustainability data to strategy.
- Skilled in change management, helping large organizations adopt new ways of working.
- Commercially fluent, partnering with Sales on renewals and growth.
- Highly organized, managing multiple enterprise accounts while driving outcomes.
- Curious and adaptable, eager to make sustainability data the next frontier of business intelligence.
The role might include up to 20% travel.
