ABOUT EDIA
Edia is the leading AI technology company in K-12 education, helping 1M+ students across the U.S. have an exceptional experience in school.
THE PROBLEM WE NEED YOU TO SOLVE
Edia serves 300+ school districts—including New York City, Fulton County, and San Francisco—with AI-powered solutions to address chronic absenteeism, math achievement, and complex data integrations and intervention workflows. Our newest product, our District Intelligence Platform (DIP) unifies K-12 data from SIS, LMS, attendance, and behavior systems into a single system of action for student success.
Every new district means a complex, high-stakes integration. We connect to all major SIS (e.g. PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Synergy, etc.), configure Clever and ClassLink rostering, stand up SFTP data feeds, import benchmark and end-of-course exam scores, and align to district-specific data models across dozens of customers. A missed go-live date means a semester of lost student outcomes.
We need a technical owner who can execute that end-to-end integration process: someone who can drive every integration workstream from contract signature to successful launch and pull in our engineering team where needed.
THE ROLE
You’ll be Edia's dedicated Customer Success Engineer (CSE)—a foundational hire on the Customer Solutions & Implementations team, reporting to our VP of Customer Success. You’ll function as the technical lead for integrations across CS, Engineering, and district IT stakeholders, balancing technical execution with strong project management and change-management instincts.
This is not a standard onboarding role. You’re implementing a multi-product platform with multiple integration points, in districts with complex IT environments, competing priorities, and tight timelines. You bring an engineering mindset to every integration challenge — comfortable diving into API specs, data mapping, and system architecture — while maintaining the project rigor and customer judgment to deliver on school-year timelines.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
TECHNICAL INTEGRATION LEADERSHIP
- Execute SIS integrations across PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Synergy, and other legacy platforms—defining data mapping specs, transformation logic, and validation requirements.
- Own SFTP pipeline setup, Clever/ClassLink rostering configuration, SSO provisioning, and platform-level data ingestion workflows.
- Write and review data transformation scripts, API integration specs, and configuration documentation. Hands-on coding ability is a strong plus; deep fluency in data models, REST APIs, and ETL patterns is required.
- Serve as the primary technical interface between Edia’s engineering team and district IT—translating complex technical environments into clear implementation architectures.
- Identify integration risks early: schema mismatches, API rate limits, authentication edge cases, and data quality issues—and drive engineering solutions before they block go-lives.
END-TO-END IMPLEMENTATION OWNERSHIP
- Lead full-lifecycle implementation projects from contract signature through go-live: project plans, technical milestones, dependency mapping, risk registers, and stakeholder coordination.
- Receive structured handoffs from Sales (SOW, technical requirements, champion intro) and manage clean transitions to CSM at go-live with full configuration documentation and adoption metrics.
- Own the internal status cadence across Product, Engineering, Support, and CS—removing blockers and driving accountability across all workstreams.
CUSTOMER & CHANGE MANAGEMENT
- Navigate district procurement timelines, IT governance processes, and organizational dynamics to keep implementations on track.
- Guide district stakeholders—from IT directors to curriculum leads—through technical onboarding and rollout best practices.
- Proactively surface adoption risks and drive mitigation plans before they become blockers.
SCALE THE FUNCTION
- We’re scaling from a handful of concurrent implementations to 3–4x that volume in 2026. You’ll design the playbooks, tooling, templates, and success metrics to make that possible.
- Define when deeper technical engagement (e.g., Forward Deployed Engineer support) is required. Help define the long-term shape of the implementation team as we grow.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 4+ years in technical implementation, solution engineering, integration engineering, or a closely related technical delivery role with a SaaS or data-intensive environment.
- Hands-on experience with data integrations: REST APIs, SFTP pipelines, ETL workflows, data mapping, and schema design. Ability to read and write code (Python, SQL, or similar) is a strong plus.
- Deep fluency in integration patterns and system architectures—comfortable reviewing API specs, debugging data pipeline issues, and writing technical configuration documentation.
- Proven track record delivering complex, multi-stakeholder technical projects on deadline in enterprise or public-sector environments.
- Exceptional communication across technical and non-technical audiences—from IT architects to district superintendents.
- Strong project management discipline: risk management, dependency tracking, milestone accountability.
Why Join Edia?
- Foundational technical role with direct influence on platform architecture, integration standards, and team structure.
- High-visibility position working closely with Engineering, Product, and GTM leadership.
- Competitive compensation ($100,000–$150,000), equity, flexible vacation, and technology stipend.
- Hybrid-friendly with flexibility on remote work.

ABOUT EDIA
Edia is the leading AI technology company in K-12 education, helping 1M+ students across the U.S. have an exceptional experience in school.
About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and help scale our Node.js applications on AWS. This role is different from a traditional engineering position: we've fully embraced AI-assisted development, and we expect most code to be written by AI tools. Your job is to direct that process effectively.
You'll work across our entire product suite and internal tools, building robust systems that serve educators and students while also using AI to automate our business operations.
What You'll Do
- Architect and oversee backend systems across our product lineup and internal tooling
- Guide AI coding assistants to implement large-scale changes and new features
- Review, debug, and refine AI-generated code to production standards
- Use AI internally to automate business operations
- Ship full-stack features end-to-end
What We're Looking For
Essential skills:
- Fast at reading code, human or AI generated
- Strong debugging skills and an eye for bugs
- Capacity to envision large architectural changes and break them into steps an AI can execute
- Ability to context switch and juggle multiple in flight tasks
- Experience with Node.js and cloud infrastructure (AWS, containers, managed databases)
- Comfort working across multiple codebases and problem domains
What sets you apart:
- You think at systems scale
- You're effective at communicating intent to AI tools and iterating on their output
- You have good judgment about when to accept AI suggestions and when to push back
- You're comfortable with ambiguity and can take ownership of loosely-defined problems
Nice to have:
- Frontend experience (React)—you'll be reading it regardless
- Startup experience
Why This Role Is Different
We're not looking for someone who wants to write every line of code themselves. We're looking for someone who can leverage AI to move faster than traditional development allows, while maintaining the quality and reliability our school district partners depend on. If you're excited about working at the frontier of how software gets built, we'd love to hear from you.
