ABOUT EDRA
Edra is solving one of the hardest problems in enterprise AI: AI models are generic but company processes are specific. We build AI agents that learn how processes actually run, and then run their operations.
We're a Series A startup, backed by Sequoia and other leading VC firms, led by Co-Founders who created and led Forward Deployed AI Engineering at Palantir, and we're growing our team in New York and London. We're a deeply technical team of engineers, AI researchers, and strategists with a high bar for talent and a shared belief that exceptional people are the foundation of everything great we'll build.
THE ROLE
We're building a learning system that teaches AI agents how enterprises actually work. Our system ingests knowledge bases, conversations, tickets, and system logs, then produces written instructions that agents can execute–with confidence scoring to know when to automate and when to seek human input.
We're looking for AI Engineers who have built complex, production LLM-based systems. Whether you've scaled LLM workflows handling millions of requests, built multi-agent systems in production, or designed evaluation frameworks for enterprise deployments, we want people who bring intensity and self-direction to their craft.
You’ll spend most of your time advancing our core learning library and building the harness that powers our platform’s agents across all customers. The work spans continuous learning systems, agentic features, human-in-the-loop feedback loops, and agent orchestration.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build and extend our core context-learning library, turning customer-informed problems into reusable platform capabilities.
- Design and implement LLM-powered systems and agentic workflows from concept to production
- Build agentic features for knowledge management–think agents that can edit, update, and maintain large knowledge bases autonomously
- Build reliability and confidence systems–evaluation frameworks, confidence scoring, and logic for when to automate vs. when to escalate to a human
- Architect async, scalable systems that handle complex AI orchestration
- Contribute to the direction of our AI strategy and product capabilities
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- You've built complex, production LLM-based systems with real depth–something with multiple layers of engineering decisions you can walk through in detail
- You've shipped something meaningful to production and can explain how it evolved
- You're excited by open-ended problems where the solution might not exist yet
- You have experience with (or strong interest in) how systems learn and improve over time: human-in-the-loop feedback, prompt optimization and context engineering
- You have experience building agents and autonomous systems
- You can navigate between research papers and production code with equal comfort
- You're a strong communicator who can clearly explain your work to teammates and customers
- You have 3+ years of professional experience
Don’t meet all of the above traits? We’d still love to hear from you. We’re looking for exceptional people with unique skills and interests, and we know that great people have different backgrounds and skillsets.

THE ROLE
We're looking for Product Engineers who care deeply about the craft of building software: strong typing, thoughtful API design, robust data modeling, and systems that are a pleasure for other engineers to work with. As an early engineer at Edra, you'll shape not just the product but the engineering culture, tooling choices, and technical foundations the company is built on.
We work deliberately and deeply. There's no separation between "building it" and "shipping it"--you'll go from whiteboard to production and own the outcome. We'd rather build something thoughtfully than ship something fragile, and we treat velocity and quality as complementary, not competing.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Build high-quality user-facing product experiences. You'll work primarily in TypeScript and React.
- Contribute to frontend architecture decisions.
- Contribute to the direction and design of our product. You should be comfortable working closely with design and able to reason clearly about interface decisions.
- Own your work fully: gather context, manage dependencies, and drive tasks to completion without a product manager handing you tickets
- Wear multiple hats when the work demands it--you might build a component library in the morning, pair with a designer in the afternoon, and trace a bug into the API layer before end of day
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of engineers and AI experts
- Have direct influence on technical direction--choose tools, set patterns, and establish conventions the team will build on for years
- Continuously improve your skills and share knowledge with the team
- While this is a frontend-focused role, you'll be expected to understand the system well enough to debug backend issues you encounter in day-to-day development
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Good visual and interaction judgment, even if you're not a designer by title
- 3+ years of experience in software engineering (but a computer science degree is not necessarily required)
- A love of writing TypeScript to a genuinely high standard--well-modeled, well-typed, and well-documented. Strong typing feels like a superpower, not a chore
- Experience building libraries, SDKs, or internal tooling that made other developers' lives easier (and you've enjoyed it)
- You're at your best when you own a problem end to end--comfortable with ambiguity and energized by turning a vague problem into a well-scoped solution
- You're drawn to building foundational systems from scratch--greenfield work where your decisions compound over time excites you
Don't meet all of the above? We'd still love to hear from you. We're looking for exceptional people with unique skills and interests, and we know that great people have different backgrounds and skillsets. If your primary interest is building RAG systems, working with LLMs, or doing applied ML, check out our AI Engineering role--it might be a better fit.
BONUS POINTS
- We use Next.js in production, and experience with it is highly welcome, but strong React fundamentals matter most.
- Experience building APIs, libraries, or design systems

Our system ingests knowledge bases, conversations, tickets, and system logs, then produces written instructions that agents can execute–with confidence scoring to know when to automate and when to seek human input.
We're looking for Forward Deployed AI Engineers who have built complex, production LLM-based systems, and want to work directly with our enterprise customers. Whether you've scaled LLM workflows handling millions of requests, built multi-agent systems in production, or designed evaluation frameworks for enterprise deployments, we want people who bring intensity and self-direction to their craft.
You’ll own the full technical journey: understanding how an operation works, identifying the right problem, designing and building the solution, shipping it to production, driving adoption, and expanding its impact. This is an engineering role: you’ll write production code, make architectural decisions, build agentic systems, and take responsibility for the outcome.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work directly with enterprise customers to identify new problems, prototype solutions, and ship them to production
- Own customer engagements from discovery and solution design through production, adoption, and expansion.
- Design and implement LLM-powered systems and agentic workflows from concept to production
- Use and extend our core context-learning library to solve customer problems, contributing reusable capabilities and lessons back into the platform.
- Build agentic features for knowledge management–think agents that can edit, update, and maintain large knowledge bases autonomously

- You're a strong communicator who can clearly explain your work to teammates and customers
- You have 3+ years of professional experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Design and build platform systems in Python (FastAPI)--from API contracts to database schema and infrastructure–and high-quality user-facing experiences in TypeScript and React, with an emphasis on clean component design, strong typing, and maintainable frontends
- Build shared TypeScript and Python libraries, component systems, and internal tooling that make the rest of the engineering team more productive. Define and enforce patterns, shared types, and contracts across the frontend and API boundary

- Contribute to the direction and design of our product. Work closely with design, reason clearly about interface decisions, and participate in weekly product meetings to understand how customers and forward-deployed engineers use what you build
