Supply Chain Transformation Architect
About the Team
The Finance Platform & Technology team at OpenAI builds and scales the future-proof systems and data architecture that power our core financial operations. We enable business agility, compliance, and operational excellence across quote-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, and asset management for both B2B and B2C. Our focus is on modernizing workflows through strategic integrations, scalable automation, and seamless data flows empowering smarter decisions, reliable reporting, and sustainable growth as OpenAI evolves
About the Role
We are looking for a Supply Chain Transformation Architect to redesign and modernize our end-to-end supply chain operations supporting robotics, consumer hardware, and data center infrastructure.
This role sits at the intersection of process, systems, and data. Your primary focus will be transforming supply chain processes across planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and fulfillment—then enabling those processes with the right systems architecture, data foundation, and AI-driven automation.
You will help move the organization from manual, reactive operations to intelligent, data-driven supply chain execution.
In this role you will:
Lead End-to-End Supply Chain Transformation
Evaluate and redesign core supply chain processes across demand planning, supply planning, procurement, manufacturing operations, logistics, and fulfillment.
Identify operational bottlenecks, fragmented workflows, and manual processes that limit scalability.
Build standardized process frameworks and operating models that support rapid scaling of hardware programs.
Drive Operational Excellence
Implement structured supply chain practices such as:
S&OP / Integrated Business Planning
Supply risk management
Inventory optimization
Supplier collaboration frameworks
Logistics visibility and execution models
Establish operational KPIs and governance to improve predictability, responsiveness, and resilience.
Architect the Digital Supply Chain
Translate redesigned processes into integrated system workflows across ERP, planning tools, manufacturing systems, and logistics platforms.
Define how data flows across the supply chain to create a single operational source of truth.
Build the foundation for a Supply Chain Control Tower with end-to-end visibility and exception management.
Enable AI-Driven Operations
Identify opportunities where AI can reduce operational noise and decision latency.
Work with data and engineering teams to embed AI insights directly into operational workflows.
Stabilize and Streamline Operations
Reduce reliance on manual spreadsheets and disconnected systems.
Build scalable processes that enable predictable hardware supply chain execution.
Create playbooks and automated workflows that allow operations teams to focus on exceptions rather than routine tasks.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
You might thrive in this role if you have:
10+ years experience in supply chain operations, transformation, or supply chain technology roles.
Deep experience in hardware supply chains (consumer electronics, robotics, infrastructure, or complex manufacturing).
Proven ability to redesign supply chain processes and operating models, not just implement tools.
Experience implementing or working with ERP and supply chain planning systems.
Strong understanding of supply chain data, analytics, and operational KPIs.
Ability to bridge operations, engineering, and data teams to drive real change.
Experience introducing AI or advanced analytics into supply chain operations
Experience supporting robotics, electronics, semiconductor, or data center hardware supply chains.
Experience building modern digital supply chain capabilities (control towers, planning transformation, data platforms).

Software Engineer, Private Computing
Software Engineer, Computer Use & Frontier Interfaces
About the team
The Computer Use and New Interfaces team is focused on discovering and building the next generation of AI-native interfaces. We believe that the value of AI is increasingly constrained not by model capabilities, but by the ways people interact with those capabilities. Our mission is to create new interaction paradigms that unlock the full potential of AI and integrate it more deeply into people's lives and work.
Our team does both near-term product development and longer-term product incubation that can influence experiences across ChatGPT, Codex, future OpenAI products, and emerging device platforms.
We work in a highly collaborative, design-driven environment where engineering, product, and design operate as one team. We value rapid experimentation, prototyping, and iteration, creating the shortest possible path between an idea, a working system, and a product decision.
About the role
We're looking for exceptional engineers who are excited to invent entirely new ways for people to interact with AI. You'll work at the intersection of engineering, product, and design to explore, prototype, and build novel interface concepts that push beyond traditional software paradigms.
This role requires comfort with ambiguity, strong product instincts, and a willingness to move fluidly between experimentation and production systems. You'll help shape both the capabilities and the user experiences that define how people engage with AI.
In this role you will:
Design, prototype, and build novel AI-native interfaces and interaction models.
Develop foundational technologies and frameworks that enable generative UI and computer use experiences.
Collaborate closely with designers, product thinkers, and engineers to rapidly explore and validate new concepts.
Build end-to-end prototypes and production systems that can influence future OpenAI products.
Contribute to platform technologies that can be adopted across multiple product surfaces.
Help establish technical direction and engineering best practices for an incubation-stage team.
Participate in a highly iterative development process focused on learning, experimentation, and user feedback.
You might thrive in this role if you:
Have strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building user-facing products.
Enjoy working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the path forward is not always obvious.
Have experience with Apple platforms, Windows, or desktop development
Are excited by zero-to-one product development and early-stage exploration.
Have a strong product sense and enjoy thinking deeply about user experience and interaction design.
Can rapidly prototype ideas while also building robust, scalable systems when needed.
Are energized by cross-functional collaboration and enjoy working closely with design and product partners.
Are curious about how AI will transform software and motivated to help define what comes next.
Believe that breakthrough products emerge from tight feedback loops between ideas, prototypes, technology, and users.
