Profound is the marketing platform for the age of AI search. The way brands reach people is being rewritten — AI models like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Mode are now the answer layer between companies and their customers. We built the platform marketers use to understand, measure, and win in that world: the analytics, intelligence, and agent automation that turn AI search from a threat into a competitive advantage.
We went from 0 to a $1B valuation in 18 months. Revenue grew 100x last year. Our customers include 15% of the Fortune 500 like Walmart, Wayfair and U.S. Bank, and innovators like Ramp, MongoDB, and Figma. We are backed by Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, LSVP, and Khosla Ventures — and we are moving fast enough that the people joining now are building the playbook everyone who comes after them will run.
As a GTM Engineer focused on Pre-Sales and Outbound, you will build the infrastructure that powers every stage of our revenue pipeline. Part lead intelligence system and part outbound engine, you will capture every signal a prospect sends, qualify leads with precision, and make sure the right opportunity reaches the right rep at the right time. Your work will directly shape how our Sales function scales.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Scope and map every path a prospect can take into Profound’s funnel, then build systems that capture, qualify, and route each one without manual intervention
- Build intent scoring models that rank leads by genuine buying signal rather than raw activity volume, so reps spend their time on the accounts most likely to convert
- Design automated routing logic across territory, company size, and rep capacity, handling edge cases cleanly so the system holds up on the hard days, not just the easy ones
- Produce rep-ready outputs directly from the scoring pipeline, so reps start their day dialing rather than cleaning spreadsheets
- Build outbound sequence automation that generates personalized messaging at scale, drawing on firmographic and behavioral data
- Own the full technical stack across the pipeline, from data ingestion and enrichment through scoring, routing, and delivery, and design schemas that make the whole system maintainable as it grows
- Experiment relentlessly with new platforms, APIs, and AI-native tools, staying ahead of what is possible in the ecosystem
WHO YOU ARE
- High-agency builder who can scope a messy, multi-source data problem, design a system to solve it, and ship something a sales team will actually trust and use
- Technically fluent in Python or JavaScript, comfortable building automated pipelines, integrating APIs, and working across the full data stack
- AI-native thinker who defaults to automation and experiments regularly with agents, MCP, and workflow frameworks
- Pragmatic about build versus buy, knowing when to assemble from existing tools rather than build from scratch
- Familiar with tools like Clay, Orum, Apollo, PhantomBuster, n8n, or similar sales and automation platforms
- Experience with GTM workflows such as sales operations, revenue operations, or a technical role inside a sales organization
- You have spent meaningful time inside a revenue organization and built things that people on the floor actually relied on, not as an observer but as a practitioner
- Systems thinker who considers edge cases and failure modes from the start, not as an afterthought
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and structuring your own roadmap
