Range is creating AI-powered solutions to eliminate financial complexity for our members. We're transforming wealth management through the perfect blend of cutting-edge technology and human expertise. We're obsessed with member experience! We've built an integrated platform that tackles the full spectrum of financial needs–investments, taxes, retirement planning, and estate management–all unified in one intuitive system.
Backed by Google's Gradient Ventures, Cathay Innovations, and Scale Venture Partners, we're in hyper-growth mode and looking for exceptional talent to join our starting lineup. Every Ranger at this stage is shaping our culture and way of life—from former CEOs and startup founders to experts from leading hedge funds and tech companies.
If you're ready to build something that truly matters in financial services, bring your talent to Range. Here, you'll make a genuine impact on how people manage their financial lives while working alongside a team that celebrates wins, makes big decisions, and blazes new trails together.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Investment Operations is where a member's money actually moves. Our team owns the full operational lifecycle of a member's investment accounts—from the moment an application is submitted, through funding and investing, into ongoing rebalancing, and across every dollar that moves in or out along the way.
You're a subject matter expert in at least three of our four core functions—Trading, Transfers, Account Lifecycle, and Investment Experience—and you can point to the improvements and automation you drove in each. You'll need little guidance on how to run operations, and you'll help the team connect daily work to where the firm is going. This is an individual contributor role today; in our ideal structure, a Lead grows into managing a team as we scale. You'll report to the Head of Investment Operations, work directly with members and our Certified Financial Planners, and act as second approver on work performed by Associates and Specialists—so you're not just spotting friction, you're the one signing off that a fix is sound before it ships.
We're excited to hire this role at Range's Headquarters in McLean, VA, or in our New York City office (preferred). All of our positions follow an in-office schedule Monday through Friday, allowing you to collaborate directly with your team. If you're not currently based in one of these areas but love what you see, let's discuss relocation as part of your journey to joining us.
WHAT YOU'LL DO WITH US
- Serve as an SME across at least three of Trading, Transfers, Account Lifecycle, and Investment Experience, and keep building toward the fourth
- Act as second approver on work performed by Associates and Specialists, catching issues before they reach a member's account
- Train and mentor at least three teammates across functions, and help shape how the team builds and assesses competence
- Drive automation and process improvements you own end to end—not just contribute to or propose
- Connect the team's day-to-day work to Range's firm goals, and flag where operations needs to evolve to support them
- Be a licensed point of contact for members and the resource the rest of Investment Operations escalates to
- Work closely with the broader investments team, with meaningful involvement in investment management and portfolio modeling
WHAT WILL SET YOU APART
- 8-10+ years of experience in investment operations, brokerage operations, or a comparable financial services role, running most or all of these functions independently
- Demonstrated experience training and mentoring others, and building repeatable process or automation improvements rather than only executing existing ones
- Deep familiarity with custodial or clearing platforms and core brokerage workflows, including the judgment to know when to approve, escalate, or hold
- A track record of shipping improvements independently, with minimal oversight
- Clear written and verbal communication, with the confidence to talk directly to members and represent the team to firm leadership
- Genuine interest in eventually managing a team as Range scales, while being effective as an individual contributor today
- Series 24 required; FinTech, RIA, or broker-dealer experience a plus
BENEFITS
- Health & Wellness: 100% employer-covered medical insurance for employees (75% for dependents), plus dental and vision coverage
- 401(k): Retirement savings program to support your future
- Paid Time Off: Dedicated time to reset and recharge plus most federal holidays
- Parental Leave: Comprehensive leave policy for growing families
- Meals: Select meals covered throughout the week
- Fitness: Monthly movement stipend
- Equity & Career Growth: Early exercise eligibility and a strong focus on professional development
- Full access to cutting-edge AI tools: We cover the cost so you can experiment, build, and move faster
- Annual Compensation Reviews: Salary and equity refreshes based on performance
- Boomerang Program: After two years at Range, you can take time away to start your own company. We’ll hold your spot for 6 months - and pause your equity vesting, which resumes if you return
Range is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We believe that the way people interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. We’re dedicated to empowering this transformation by building the tools and experiences that thousands of developers use to create their own products. Plaid powers the tools millions of people rely on to live a healthier financial life. We work with thousands of companies like Venmo, SoFi, several of the Fortune 500, and many of the largest banks to make it easy for people to connect their financial accounts to the apps and services they want to use. Plaid’s network covers 12,000 financial institutions across the US, Canada, UK and Europe. Founded in 2013, the company is headquartered in San Francisco with offices in New York, Washington D.C., London and Amsterdam.
We turn Plaid's product expertise, proprietary data, customer impact, and perspective on intelligent finance into stories that build understanding, trust, and demand. We sit within Brand Marketing, owning resource content, customer storytelling, and owned editorial franchises, and we're increasingly bringing that storytelling to life through video and audio.
You'll join as our first dedicated video and audio producer, reporting to our incoming Content Lead. You'll jump in immediately to produce Intelligent Finance, our flagship podcast and video series hosted by CEO and co-founder Zach Perret, already in production, so you'll pick up the reins without a long ramp-up period. You'll own production end-to-end, partner closely with our Content Design team to shape stories, and work directly with senior leaders to translate our product, data, and industry perspective into content people actually want to watch and listen to.
Responsibilities:
- Immediately step in to produce Intelligent Finance, our already-underway podcast and video series, with no ramp-up period.
- Own end-to-end production of Plaid's flagship video and audio content, from concept through final delivery.
- Partner closely with Content Design to translate product and narrative concepts into video-native stories.
- Translate complex products, data, and industry perspectives into compelling stories.
- Build a repeatable, high-quality production process and a bench of trusted external partners.
- Partner with Social, Brand Marketing, Creative, Communications, and Product Marketing on distribution and amplification.
- Coordinate with Comms on narrative for executive-facing content.
- Help define Plaid's visual and editorial approach to video as we expand beyond our first flagship series.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years experience in content marketing
- Significant experience producing high-quality video content, with demonstrated ownership from concept through final delivery.
- A portfolio showing strong storytelling instincts and creative judgment across long- and short-form formats.
- Ability to turn complex, technical subject matter into clear, engaging stories.
- Executive presence, credible and composed working directly with senior leadership, including the CEO.
- Ability to operate independently, move quickly, and step into an already-live production with no ramp-up period.
- Ideally, a B2B or fintech background and prior experience producing a podcast.
- Nice to have: experience developing a show or content franchise around an executive or founder host.
Our mission at Plaid is to unlock financial freedom for everyone. To support that mission, we seek to build a diverse team of driven individuals who care deeply about making the financial ecosystem more equitable. We recognize that strong qualifications can come from both prior work experiences and lived experiences. We encourage you to apply to a role even if your experience doesn't fully match the job description. We are always looking for team members that will bring something unique to Plaid!
Plaid is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and values diversity at our company. We do not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion or religious belief, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, sexual stereotypes, age, military or veteran status, disability, or other applicable legally protected characteristics. We also consider qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state, and local laws. Plaid is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities in our recruiting process. If you need any assistance with your application or interviews due to a disability, please let us know at accommodations@plaid.com.

Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity and/or commission are dependent on the position offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Pay is based on factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and skillset, and location.
