Our team drives the growth and utility of Link by building partnerships with card networks, card issuers, local payment methods, crypto providers, and emerging commerce platforms. We execute on high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that expand Link's acceptance, improve performance, and enable new payment experiences—including agentic commerce. These partnerships have a significant impact on Stripe and the products used by millions of our users.What you’ll doWe're looking for a Partner Development Manager who builds and manages Link's payments partnerships with card networks, card issuers, local payment method providers, and crypto and stablecoin providers. You'll own the strategy and execution of partnerships that expand Link's payment capabilities, improve transaction performance, and position Link as the default payments layer for agentic commerce. You'll negotiate commercial agreements, drive technical integrations, and shape Link's payments roadmap in collaboration with these partners. As part of these efforts, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Risk, and others. You'll also lead relationship management and partner closely with external partners' executive leadership.ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute Link's payments partnership strategy across card networks, card issuers, local payment methods, and crypto and stablecoinsNegotiate and manage commercial agreements with payment partners that expand Link's acceptance footprint, improve authorization rates, and unlock new payment capabilitiesDevelop a deep understanding of the card network and issuer landscape—including scheme rules, tokenization frameworks, authentication protocols, and competitive dynamics—to inform partnership strategyDrive partnerships that enable Link to serve as the payments layer for agentic commerce, working with networks and issuers to establish rules, liability frameworks, and technical standards for agent-initiated transactionsGather inputs from and coordinate with internal cross-functional stakeholders (including product, risk, compliance, engineering, and security) to drive creation and execution of partner strategy including our global LPM roadmapWork closely with Product and Engineering to define requirements and shape Link's payments product roadmap based on partner capabilities and market opportunitiesIdentify partner stakeholders who will champion Stripe, educate them about Link's value proposition, and build alignment between Stripe and our partners' executive teamsIdentify and effectively analyze new partnership opportunities, ultimately making recommendations to relevant decision makers and cross-functional stakeholdersExhibit an operationally focused mindset, with an ability to lead teams through complex relationship management activities by setting a clear vision and running tight processesWho you areWe're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. We lead complex technical programs that help Plaid scale its engineering platform. We partner across Engineering, Infrastructure, Data, Security, ML, Legal, and Product to deliver company-wide technical initiatives that improve reliability, scalability, and developer productivity. You'll lead strategic technical programs from planning through execution. You'll partner with engineering leaders to align stakeholders, manage dependencies, drive decisions, and ensure successful delivery of complex initiatives. You'll work across a variety of technical domains, adapting quickly to new challenges and helping teams execute effectively.
As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives. As a generalist, you may work on a variety of programs. An example is one that strengthens Plaid's data and machine learning platforms. You will partner with engineering, product, data, legal, privacy, and business stakeholders to drive complex technical programs from planning through execution. Your work will help improve data governance, modernize machine learning infrastructure, and accelerate the adoption of trusted, high-quality datasets that power analytics, artificial intelligence, and product innovation. Success in this role requires strong program management, stakeholder alignment, and the ability to drive execution across multiple teams while ensuring strategic initiatives are delivered on time and at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Lead complex, cross-functional programs that deliver high-impact technical initiatives across the organization.
- Drive end-to-end program execution by managing plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and stakeholder communication across engineering and product organizations.
- Partner with engineering, product, data, legal, privacy, and business teams to align on priorities, scope, and success metrics.
- Enable the adoption of standardized processes and best practices for data governance, platform modernization, and trusted data management.
- Remove execution blockers, monitor progress against program goals, and provide regular updates to leadership.
- Foster collaboration across multiple organizations to deliver scalable solutions that improve data quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Communicate progress to technical and executive stakeholders.
- Improve execution frameworks and program health.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years leading complex technical programs.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering systems.
- Experience driving cross-functional programs involving multiple engineering teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Experience with data platforms, infrastructure, ML platforms, or developer productivity is a strong plus.
- Prior experience in fintech or another highly regulated environment is a strong plus.
