Principal Medtech Architect
Job Description
Principal Medtech Architect
AcuityMD is a software and data platform that accelerates access to medical technologies. We help MedTech companies understand how their products are used, why customers vary, and identify opportunities for physicians to better serve their patients. Each year, the FDA approves ~6,000 new medical devices. Our solution helps MedTech companies get these products to physicians more effectively so they can improve patient care with the latest technology. We're backed by Benchmark, Redpoint, ICONIQ Growth, and Ajax Health. We're a high-growth AI and Data company scaling rapidly.
The Principal Medtech Architect is a senior role in AcuityMD's Forward Deployed team and owns our most strategic AI engagements. You will lead AI build partnerships with our largest customers across the full engagement lifecycle, from pre-sales discovery and executive workshops through solution delivery, outcome validation, and transition to the account team for adoption and value realization.
You will partner with account teams and customer leaders to identify where AI can create meaningful business value, translate high-priority workflows into scoped solutions, and guide the delivery of durable, scalable builds. This role requires equal strength in executive advisory, commercial judgment, solution architecture, and hands-on delivery leadership.
Success means turning a customer's unique workflows and pain points into AI solutions that achieve measurable outcomes and scale across the organization. You are as comfortable leading a working session with C-suite executives as you are collaborating with customer teams and AcuityMD builders to make the solution real.
Team Mission
The Forward Deployed team builds custom AI solutions on top of AcuityAI to maximize customer outcomes. We turn customer AI ambition into measurable, durable value by identifying the workflows where AI can create meaningful impact and delivering the solutions that bring those workflows to life.
Responsibilities
- Own strategic AI build partnerships end to end, from pre-workshop discovery and opportunity framing through workshop facilitation, build sprint delivery, solution validation, and handoff.
- Lead foundational conversations that position AcuityMD as the customer's AI solution for Medtech and a strategic platform for executing its AI roadmap.
- Design and facilitate executive leadership workshops that surface high-value workflows and produce actionable, prioritized use-case portfolios.
- Recommend the right engagement model for each use case, including in-surface enrichment, callable tools, bespoke skills, and insight-to-action workflows.
- Work with customer stakeholders to define the business case, ROI assumptions, success metrics, and validation approach against which each solution will be measured.
- Translate customer pain points, workflows, and technical requirements into well-scoped AI solutions and multi-workstream delivery plans.
- Partner with Product and Engineering, as appropriate, to scope and lead Forward Deployed sprints, driving build quality, delivery discipline, and customer outcomes.
- Validate that delivered solutions achieve the intended outcome and are positioned to scale across the customer's organization before transition to the account team.
- Partner with Program Managers to lead platform-level roadmap conversations with customer’s AI leadership team, including CTOs and CIOs.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Success, Professional Service teams, and Sales and Value Engineering to deliver a cohesive customer experience.
- Shape AcuityMD's external product-market narrative on AI in medtech through customer conversations, field insights, and strategic thought leadership.
- Mentor early-career Medtech Architects, strengthen the Forward Deployed playbook, and raise the bar for excellence across the team.
What You'll Bring
- Executive presence. You have peer-level credibility with customer C-suite stakeholders, including CEOs, CTOs, CIOs, and CCOs. You can lead an executive workshop, guide rigorous discovery, and navigate difficult conversations with confidence and judgment.
- Medtech domain credibility. You understand the commercial, clinical, and operational realities of medical technology organizations and can quickly build trust with customer leaders and frontline teams. You identify meaningful pain points and high-value workflows in a domain-fluent way.
- AI and architecture fluency. You can shape strategic conversations about AI, hold roadmap and architecture discussions with customer technology leaders, and explain AI capabilities, solution patterns, risks, and tradeoffs to audiences with varying levels of technical fluency.
- Delivery leadership. You have demonstrated success scoping, selling, and delivering complex, multi-quarter, multi-workstream engagements. You translate customer needs into executable plans and drive solutions to measurable outcomes.
- Commercial and customer judgment. You can distinguish compelling use cases from lower-value opportunities, recommend the right engagement shape, and align customer ambition with practical scope, value, and delivery considerations.
- Exceptional communication. You communicate with clarity and influence across organizational levels and can translate complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Cross-functional leadership. You build alignment across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, Implementation, and Data teams while maintaining clear ownership and momentum.
Your Profile
- 10+ years of relevant experience across medtech, healthcare technology, enterprise SaaS, AI services, or adjacent fields, with direct medtech experience strongly preferred and weighted based on depth and leadership impact.
- A demonstrated record of leading strategic customer engagements and delivering complex technical solutions in enterprise environments.
- Experience delivering AI products, AI-enabled services, or custom AI solutions for customers.
- Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment is preferred.
Nice to Haves
- Advanced degree, such as an MBA, MS, or clinical degree.
- Prior Forward Deployed experience at a peer AI, data, or enterprise software platform company.
- Published thought leadership at the intersection of medtech and AI.

Since Acuity launched in 2020, we've brought on customers ranging from publicly traded Fortune 500 companies to innovative growth-stage companies and regional medical device distributors.
The Product: AcuityMD uses data and software to help teams collaborate around the complex relationships they have with the users of medical technologies: doctors. Our platform empowers medical technology companies to see how their products are used, understand why outcomes vary, and identify opportunities where physicians or sites of care can better serve their patients.
How We Work:
AcuityMD is a remote-first company. We believe the best talent isn't confined to one zip code, so our team works from wherever they do their best work, across the U.S.
We also believe some of our best work happens face-to-face. Critical projects move faster, our products get better, and our community gets stronger when we're in the same room, so we bring the team together throughout the year for company-wide and team on-sites built around that work.
In practice: expect 4-5 in-person opportunities a year through company/team on-sites and in-person collaboration for critical projects. If you're based near our Boston hub, there's no set requirement for how often you come into the office, that's your call, based on what works best for you and your team.
AcuityMD is an Equal Opportunity Employer
AcuityMD is seeking to create a diverse work environment because all teams are stronger with different perspectives and life experiences. We strongly encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. All employees and contractors of AcuityMD are responsible for maintaining a work culture free from discrimination and harassment by treating others with kindness and respect.
Staff AI Engineer
Job Description
About Acquia
Acquia is the digital experience platform built for a world where your audience isn't only human. Its agents too.
As AI agents become active participants in how people discover, consume, and act on digital content, Acquia gives enterprise teams the platform to create, manage, and distribute experiences designed for both. Powered by agentic AI that orchestrates — not just advises — Acquia automates complex digital workflows within the governance guardrails large organizations require.
The world's #1 Drupal hosting provider, Acquia brings together Content Management, Digital Asset Management, and Product Information Management in a single AI-powered Command Center: Acquia Source.
Acquia. Built for every audience, human or otherwise.
The Role: Acquia is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to join our AI Core Engineering team. This is first and foremost a hands-on engineering role — you will spend the majority of your time designing, building, and shipping production-grade agentic AI workflows across the Acquia DXP. LangGraph, Temporal, Pydantic and LangFuse are your primary tools; enterprise reliability, observability, and scale are your standards. You'll also play a light but meaningful mentoring role, helping to lift the AI engineering capability of those around you as the team grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and ship production AI code daily — you are an active contributor.
- Architect agentic AI workflows using LangGraph, Temporal, Pydantic — stateful, multi-agent workflows built for enterprise scale and reliability.
- Own AI observability via LangFuse: tracing, prompt versioning, evaluation, and performance benchmarking across all model interactions.
- Set AI engineering standards for agent design patterns, RAG, prompt management, context optimization, and tool-calling strategies.
- Partner with product and platform teams to deliver AI architectures that meet enterprise SLA, security, and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging tooling — benchmarking LLM providers, orchestration frameworks, and agentic stack improvements.
- Mentor engineers as a natural extension of your work — sharing knowledge through code reviews, pairing sessions, and design discussions, not through management overhead.
- Represent Acquia's AI capabilities in customer architectural reviews, technical discovery, and roadmap conversations.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of software engineering with 3+ years in production of AI Agents.
- Hands-on LangGraph, Temporal, Pydantic expertise — stateful, cyclic, multi-agent workflows at enterprise scale.
- Hands-on LangFuse expertise – tracing, evaluation, prompt management, and dataset- driven testing
- Proficiency with agent harness frameworks such as LangChain or similar (e.g. LlamaIndex, CrewAI) — composing chains, tools, memory, and retrieval pipelines.
- Deep Python proficiency and strong engineering fundamentals (testing, CI/CD, architecture).
- Cloud AI deployment experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) including containerization and inference cost management.
- RAG architecture knowledge— vector databases, embedding models, and retrieval strategies.
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Desired Skills
- Enterprise SaaS or CMS, including familiarity with Acquia's Drupal-based DXP experience
- Agentic development workflow fluency — AI-assisted coding tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude) as everyday accelerators.
- Familiarity with persistent agent runtimes – such as OpenClaw and Hermes Agent, understanding cross-session memory, autonomous skill creation, and always-on agent infrastructure as it matures in enterprise contexts.
- LLM fine-tuning or model evaluation experience and awareness of foundational model tradeoffs.
- Human-in-the-loop — interrupt-driven agents and enterprise design
- Strong communication skills — able to present AI system design to both engineers and C-suite stakeholders.
- Senior IC track record — known for the quality of your own code and system designs, with mentoring that happens organically through great work, not through meetings.
We are an organization that embraces innovation and the potential of AI to enhance our processes and improve our work. We are always looking for individuals who are open to learning new technologies and collaborating with AI tools to achieve our goals.
Acquia is proud to provide best-in-class benefits offerings to our employees and their families in maintaining both a healthy body and a healthy mind. Core Benefits include: competitive healthcare coverage, wellness programs, take it when you need it time off, parental leave, recognition programs, and much more!
Acquia is an equal opportunity (EEO) employer. We hire without regard to age, color, disability, gender (including gender identity), marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law. On the back of this experience and our success-to-date, we’ve raised over $128M from leading investors including NEA, Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Elad Gil, and Workday Ventures. We’re also proud to have founders and executives of companies like Segment, Plaid, Looker, Gitlab, Confluent, HashiCorp, and Snowflake, as investors who have experienced the pain we're solving firsthand.
About the team
The Solutions Architecture team at Metronome is a technical group that sits at the intersection of sales, growth, product, and R&D. In simple terms, we own the technical aspects of the customer lifecycle between after sales and before handoff to post-implementation teams.
As a member of the Solutions Architecture team, you’ll primarily be focused on ensuring customers successfully implement Metronome’s products and realize value quickly.
Responsibilities
- Using proficient discovery and scoping to understand what challenges our clients face in billing, launching new products, pricing & packaging, quote-to-cash, customer experience, and related areas.
- Doing whatever it takes to support clients throughout the entire implementation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical design, integration design, testing, data migration, and launch.
- Providing expert guidance to clients regarding usage-based pricing and consumption business models.
- Hands on configuration of Metronome’s system on behalf of clients
- Designing integrations between Metronome’s APIs and the clients business systems to align to Metronome best practices (including CRM/ CPQ, Payments, Taxation, ERP, Billing Providers, Reporting and Analytics tools).
- Acting as a liaison between the field and Metronome R&D to advocate for client needs and feature requests.
- Partnering with implementation managers and other project team members to provide visibility into progress and proactively identify risks and issues
- Building relationships with people at our client organizations, from day-to-day operators to C-Suite executives. We believe in meeting our customers in-person whenever possible.
- Designing integrations of Metronome into prospect systems and consultatively influencing the direction of our prospects’ pricing and packaging.
- Ensuring a proper handoff to our post-implementation teams (Customer Success and Technical Support).
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Expect these engagements to be complex, deep, technical, and most of all interesting. Metronome directly influences how the internet monetizes - AI is an obvious current example - and our group is on the front lines driving this influence with our prospects. Metronome is a startup. As such, there’s a lot still to figure out and tremendous room for high-agency people to impact our direction and strategy, build processes from zero to one, and generally make a difference. If this excites you as much as it excites us, let’s talk.
Minimum requirements
- 10+ years of experience working in technical and/or customer-facing roles involving SaaS products (for example, roles like sales engineering, solutions architecture, technical account management).
- Deep knowledge of the quote-to-cash space, including integrating with or otherwise interacting with tools like Salesforce, NetSuite, CPQs, Billing, Tax, Payments, etc.
- Experience leading complex, multi-phase technology transformation programs for enterprise companies.
- Experience in fast-moving startup environments that value high agency.
- Ability to quickly learn and communicate technical concepts to technical, go-to-market, and finance stakeholders.
- Excitement for building and improving GTM playbooks, processes, and reusable assets.
- Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time (will vary depending on client needs)
Preferred qualifications
- Experience as a software engineer, product manager, or in other technical roles.
- Strong understanding of project management and program management fundamentals and principles
- Experience working with users from one or more of the following personas: Finance/ CFO, Engineering/ CTO, Product/ CPO, Sales Ops/ CRO, and Billing Operations.
- Experience with logs, metrics, billing, finance, or other infrastructure or financial tooling and concepts.
