Our customers include Fortune 500 enterprises and global industry leaders, including Anduril, Canva, Fortinet, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, OpenAI, Snap Inc., and Snowflake.
Chainguard is venture-backed by leading investors, including Amplify, IVP, Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Mantis VC, Redpoint Ventures, Sequoia Capital, and Spark Capital.
The role, in a nutshell:
Chainguard is seeking a Senior Data Governance & Tooling Manager to own the integrity, structure, and long-term strategy of our GTM data ecosystem. This role will be accountable for ensuring our CRM data — from accounts and contacts through lifecycle, enrichment, and attribution — is accurate, trusted, scalable, and actionable across Sales, Marketing, RevOps, and GTM Systems. The Senior Manager will establish a digital data governance framework, ensure data assets are trusted, compliant and effectively leveraged, and embed data stewardship into the culture of the organization. This person will also serve as a key liaison between Revenue Operations and the GTM systems to ensure all core tools are configured correctly and optimized for the fields needs.
This person will sit at the intersection of data governance, systems, and revenue operations, partnering closely with Sales Operations, GTM Systems, and Marketing Operations to ensure that every downstream decision is powered by high-quality data.
What you will do:
Data Strategy & Governance
Work with our systems team to define Chainguard’s CRM data strategy, including data models for accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, and related objects
Establish and enforce data governance standards: definitions, ownership, validation rules, SLAs, and quality thresholds
Create a clear system of record philosophy across tools (CRM, enrichment platforms, marketing automation, analytics stack)
Data Quality & Integrity
Own ongoing data hygiene across accounts and contacts, including deduplication, normalization, enrichment, and lifecycle management
Design scalable processes and governance for data accuracy, completeness, freshness, and consistency
Proactively identify and remediate data issues before they impact reporting, pipeline, or go-to-market execution
Cross-Functional Enablement
Partner with:
Sales Ops / RevOps to ensure data supports territory planning, forecasting, and pipeline management, and sales process
GTM Systems to align data models with CRM architecture, integrations, and automation
Marketing Operations to ensure clean inbound data flow, lead-to-account matching, and attribution
Translate business requirements into scalable data frameworks that work across teams
Process, Tooling & Scalability
Own and optimize enrichment strategy (e.g., Clay and related tools), balancing coverage, cost, and accuracy
Design processes for data ingestion from inbound, outbound, partners, and product-led sources
Prepare the data foundation to scale with company growth, new segments, new motions, and future tooling changes
Align on systems roadmap from a RevOps perspective to ensure prioritization is clear
Leadership & Influence
Act as the authoritative owner of GTM data, driving alignment without becoming a bottleneck
Educate stakeholders on best practices around data usage and governance
Build a roadmap for data maturity that aligns with Chainguard’s growth stage
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Data Governance or GTM Systems roles
Deep hands-on experience with CRM systems (Salesforce strongly preferred)
Experience building or scaling data governance frameworks at a high-growth company
Proven ownership of account and contact data models in a B2B SaaS environment
Experience working closely with Sales Ops, Marketing Ops, and Systems teams
Strong understanding of enrichment providers, inbound data flows, and lifecycle management
Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution.
Traits for Success:
Opinionated but collaborative — able to drive standards while partnering effectively
Systems thinker who anticipates second- and third-order effects of data decisions
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and evolving environments
High bar for data quality, with pragmatism about speed vs. perfection
Base salary: $174,000-205,000.
