OpenAI’s Sourcing and Procurement organization helps the company acquire and scale the products, services, and partnerships needed to advance its mission. As the organization grows, we are looking for a strategic builder-operator to establish an AI-led contracting capability that improves speed, consistency, and execution across the company.
In this role, you will partner with leaders and stakeholders across Procurement, Legal, Finance, Security, Engineering, and business teams to design and oversee the contracting process from intake through negotiation and lifecycle management. You will bring structure to ambiguity, align partners around shared priorities, and build repeatable operating mechanisms, responsible AI-assisted workflows, and a centralized contract lifecycle management (CLM) system of record that enable sourcing coordinators to execute agreements consistently and help the business scale.
About the Role
As a Contract Management Lead, you will build, lead, and continuously improve OpenAI’s AI-led contracting help desk—a new capability designed to scale contract drafting, review, negotiation, and lifecycle management without significantly increasing headcount. You will own the service strategy, operating model, delivery oversight, coordinator enablement, workflow design, and performance tracking. Sourcing coordinators will manage day-to-day negotiations and agreement execution; you will ensure they have the tools, playbooks, training, guidance, and escalation support required to deliver timely, consistent, and well-governed outcomes.
This is a builder-operator and service-ownership role for someone who combines strong commercial contracting and legal-language fluency with a product-management mentality. You will be hands-on in building the systems, playbooks, AI-enabled workflows, and reporting that support the contracting desk—not in personally negotiating every agreement. You will use a contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform as the central system of record, connect it with procurement tools and contract repositories, and partner with Legal, Procurement, Engineering, sourcing coordinators, and CLM technology partners to pilot, evaluate, and improve emerging AI capabilities. Your work will turn contracting into a trusted, measurable, continuously improving service.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will:
Own the product vision and roadmap for an AI-led contracting help desk, translating user needs into a scalable, measurable service for contract intake, triage, and lifecycle management.
Build and continuously improve the AI-enabled contracting framework, including agent-assisted drafting, clause and fallback recommendations, negotiation guidance, risk detection, and human-in-the-loop escalation.
Own the contract lifecycle management (CLM) platform and system of record, including workflows, approved templates and playbooks, metadata, reporting, and integrations with procurement tools and repositories.
Enable sourcing coordinators to lead day-to-day negotiations and agreement execution through effective training, clear ownership, service levels, and operational support.
Partner with Legal, Procurement, Engineering, Security, Privacy, and Finance to define approval guardrails, resolve escalations, and deploy AI responsibly.
Pilot emerging contract lifecycle management and AI capabilities; measure cycle time, automation, quality, coordinator delivery, and stakeholder adoption; and use those insights to improve the service.

About the Role
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Lead to own and execute OpenAI’s category strategy for Professional Services. This is an experienced individual-contributor role for a high-velocity, hands-on sourcing operator who can set category priorities, own complex work end to end, exercise sound judgment, influence senior stakeholders, and build scalable category mechanisms in a rapidly growing organization. You will turn incomplete information, shifting priorities, and unclear decision paths into practical next steps and disciplined execution.
You will manage a broad portfolio of services engagements—from strategic advisory relationships and enterprise programs to high-volume statements of work. Partnering directly with leaders across Finance, Accounting, Legal, People, Extended Workforce, and business teams, you will set category priorities and translate needs into clear sourcing strategies, executable engagement models, and measurable outcomes. You will operate independently across multiple concurrent deals, knowing when to align, escalate, or redirect an approach to protect speed, value, and risk.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of three days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will:
Own and continuously evolve the Professional Services category strategy and execution roadmap, setting priorities based on business needs, operating goals, market insight, and risk considerations.
Own multiple complex sourcing workstreams end to end, balancing high-value strategic negotiations with a high-throughput portfolio of services engagements.
Build trusted partnerships with senior stakeholders, clarify tradeoffs, and challenge or redirect proposed services models when a different approach will improve value, delivery, or risk.
Lead complex negotiations and design fit-for-purpose commercial structures, including master services agreements, statements of work, milestone- and outcome-based pricing, rate cards, acceptance criteria, change controls, audit rights, and termination protections.
Build and improve scalable category mechanisms, including intake and tiering, category plans, preferred-partner models, supplier segmentation, negotiation playbooks, approval pathways, and clear escalation mechanisms—creating enough structure to enable speed without over-engineering.
Strengthen the supplier ecosystem through competitive sourcing, consolidation where appropriate, performance governance, business reviews, and active value-realization plans.
Partner with Finance and Accounting to improve spend visibility, forecasting, approval discipline, invoice-to-contract alignment, and commercial structures that support appropriate accounting treatment and auditability.
Partner with Legal, People, and Extended Workforce to distinguish professional services from contingent labor, translate guidance into practical guardrails, and reduce co-employment, scope, intellectual-property, and delivery risk without slowing the business.
Produce clear, executive-ready reporting across pipeline health, savings and cost avoidance, cycle time, supplier performance, renewal exposure, risk, forecast accuracy, and realized business value.
Drive reliable execution through disciplined follow-through, clear documentation, clean data, timely approvals, and practical process improvements—creating lightweight structure where gaps exist and adapting quickly as priorities change.
Use AI to redesign sourcing workflows—including intake, market and supplier analysis, negotiation preparation, contract and spend analysis, documentation, reporting, and decision support—to improve speed, consistency, and decision quality while maintaining appropriate human judgment and controls.
You might thrive in this role if you:
Have 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management, with significant depth in Professional Services.
Have owned Professional Services category strategy and sourcing end to end—from intake and competitive sourcing through contracting, governance, renewals, and long-term supplier strategy.
Have led complex, high-stakes services negotiations and can balance cost, speed, flexibility, quality, risk, and long-term partnership value.
Understand the commercial and operating dynamics of consulting, advisory, managed services, and project-based work, including the boundaries between professional services, contingent labor, and full-time hiring.
Have helped build or improve category operating mechanisms—such as intake, tiering, preferred-partner models, playbooks, reporting, or supplier governance—and can balance standardization with flexibility.
Have demonstrated experience using AI to redesign sourcing workflows and can show how it improved speed, insight, decision quality, or stakeholder experience while preserving appropriate human review and controls.
Influence senior stakeholders through trust, structured thinking, sound judgment, and clear communication of tradeoffs; know when to move independently and when to align or escalate.
Bring strong financial and analytical fluency, and can turn imperfect spend, supplier, and performance data into clear decisions and measurable business outcomes.
Operate effectively through ambiguity, rapid change, and limited structure; turn incomplete data and evolving decision rights into clear actions, and adjust your approach to different company stages, operating models, and organizational cultures.

About the Team
OpenAI is building Procurement of the future: one that uses AI-enabled systems, clean data, and scalable processes to help the business absorb increasing complexity, speed, volume, and throughput while enabling teams across OpenAI to operate more strategically and at greater scale while managing risk responsibly.
The Procurement Operations team supports the operational flow of purchasing across OpenAI, helping teams turn business needs into complete, policy-aligned, and executable procurement activity. We partner across Procurement, Finance, Legal, Security, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Systems, and business teams to improve how requests, suppliers, purchase orders, approvals, data, documentation, and downstream handoffs move through our systems.
As OpenAI scales, we are building procurement operations that can absorb increasing complexity without adding unnecessary friction. That means using AI thoughtfully, simplifying where we can, strengthening operating discipline where we must, and continuously improving how our stakeholders experience procurement.
About the Role
We are hiring two Senior Managers, Procurement Operations to manage the operational backbone of how OpenAI turns requests into committed, controlled, and payable spend. One role will focus on Technology categories, and the other will focus on Corporate Services categories.
These roles are not removed from the work. You will be expected to review requests in the system, make or guide request and PO updates, resolve operational issues, and use that firsthand view to identify what needs to change. You will push the envelope without losing the thread on risk, staying close enough to the details to understand where friction, ambiguity, and control gaps show up.
You will help improve procurement outcomes across intake, purchase requests, PO quality, supplier coordination, approval workflows, documentation, service delivery, and downstream financial handoffs. You will oversee and improve operating effectiveness across existing controls and lifecycle processes, using data, AI-enabled tools, automation, and strong judgment to reduce friction while improving compliance, accountability, and speed.
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who can both operate and improve the system. This person will be hands-on in procurement operations while helping build the next version of how the work gets done: clearer standards, stronger operating discipline, cleaner data, smarter workflows, and more AI-enabled ways of working.
The right person brings critical thinking, strong relationship management, high attention to detail, and the ability to see patterns across requests, stakeholder friction, system gaps, and risk signals. They can help move Procurement Operations toward a more scalable, exception-based operating model without losing speed or control.
You bring:
7+ years of procurement operations, P2P, sourcing operations, finance operations, supply chain operations, business operations, or related experience in a fast-moving environment.
High AI fluency, with demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve how work gets done, reduce manual effort, strengthen analysis, improve documentation, and create scalable operating leverage.
Experience leading cross-functional operational programs with measurable improvements in service quality, operating effectiveness, cycle time, compliance, or stakeholder experience.
Advanced procurement operations judgment and the ability to independently resolve complex tasks while knowing when to seek guidance on higher-risk issues.
Strong understanding of how procurement decisions affect downstream financial outcomes, supplier experience, accounting accuracy, invoice readiness, commitment visibility, and business velocity.
Strong systems orientation, with experience using procurement, ERP, intake, ticketing, supplier, or workflow tools such as Zip, Oracle, Coupa, SAP, NetSuite, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar platforms.
High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership for documentation quality, fiscal controls, audit readiness, and operating discipline.
Ability to identify patterns in operational issues and translate them into better processes, standards, workflows, and system improvements.
Practical judgment around AI adoption: knowing where AI can accelerate work, where human review matters, and how to build trust in new ways of working.
Comfort working across Procurement, Finance, Legal, Security, Accounting, Accounts Payable, Systems, and business stakeholders.
Clear communication skills and the ability to explain tradeoffs between speed, control, policy, and risk in a practical, enablement-focused way.
Ability to operate in ambiguity, bring structure to evolving processes, and raise the bar as the business scales.
In this role, you will:
Lead cross-functional procurement operations programs that support business priorities and functional strategy.
Own end-to-end execution of complex procurement operations initiatives across intake, request review, request updates, PO creation, PO maintenance, supplier coordination, approvals, documentation, and downstream handoffs.
Review requests in procurement systems, make or guide request and PO updates, resolve operational issues, and use those patterns to improve how the lifecycle works.
Design scalable processes, metrics, operating cadences, control checkpoints, and AI-enabled workflows that reduce friction while improving compliance, accountability, and operating effectiveness.
Identify recurring operational issues, separate symptoms from root causes, and build systems, playbooks, or process improvements that prevent repeat problems.
Partner with business stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve blockers, and keep procurement activity moving with the right level of control.
Balance urgent business needs with policy requirements, approval controls, auditability, financial accuracy, and responsible risk management.
Improve service delivery and operating leverage in measurable ways, including cycle time, PO quality, exception rates, documentation completeness, invoice readiness, commitment visibility, and close readiness.
Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Legal, Security, Accounting, AP, and Systems teams to improve handoffs, governance, reporting, and stakeholder experience.
Build practical documentation, SOPs, playbooks, dashboards, templates, self-service guidance, and intake logic that make procurement easier to navigate.

The Procurement organization enables OpenAI's mission by ensuring every dollar is spent responsibly, compliantly, and efficiently. Within Procurement, the Center of Excellence (COE) team is responsible for designing and scaling the processes, systems, governance, and operating models that enable Procurement to grow effectively alongside the business.
This role partners closely with Procurement and cross-functional teams to simplify how work gets requested, routed, approved, and managed across the spend lifecycle. By combining program leadership, process design, and change enablement, we help Procurement scale while maintaining strong controls and delivering an exceptional experience for employees and business partners.
About the Role
As Procurement Portfolio & Delivery Lead, you will lead complex, cross-functional initiatives that span Strategic Sourcing, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Extended Workforce, Travel & Expense, Corporate Card, Risk, Legal, Finance, and Technology teams. You will not only drive project and program execution, but also actively contribute to solution design, requirements development, process optimization, testing, rollout planning, and stakeholder alignment.
This is a highly collaborative role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, can bring structure to ambiguity, and is equally comfortable facilitating executive discussions, building project plans, and rolling up their sleeves to help move initiatives forward.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
In this role, you will:
Lead cross-functional procurement transformation programs spanning Strategic Sourcing, P2P, Extended Workforce, T&E, Corporate Card, Risk, and Procurement Systems.
Develop and maintain the Procurement transformation roadmap, partnering across teams to identify opportunities, prioritize initiatives, map dependencies, sequence work effectively, and align investments against strategic business objectives.
Translate business needs into scalable requirements, partnering with Procurement SMEs and EPT to design processes, workflows, controls, reporting, and user experiences.
Drive quarterly planning and execution, maintaining visibility into milestones, risks, dependencies, resource needs, and delivery timelines across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Contribute directly to project delivery, including requirements gathering, process design, testing coordination, documentation, rollout planning, training, and change enablement.
Partner with Procurement verticals to accelerate execution, helping teams define problems, structure workstreams, develop solutions, and move projects from idea to implementation.
Lead governance and operating rhythms, including project reviews, leadership updates, status reporting, issue escalation, and decision tracking.
Coordinate cross-functional implementations involving Procurement, Legal, Finance, Security, Privacy, Risk, and Enterprise Platform Technology teams.
Develop executive-ready communications and reporting, translating complex programs into clear updates, recommendations, risks, and outcomes.
Define success metrics and measure outcomes, leveraging data and insights to evaluate adoption, operational performance, process effectiveness, and business impact.
Support continuous improvement efforts, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve user experiences, strengthen controls, and scale operations through automation, analytics, and AI.

Preferred Qualifications
7–10+ years of experience in project/program management, business operations, procurement operations or strategic sourcing, process transformation, consulting, or related fields.
Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Experience translating business requirements into scalable operational processes, system enhancements, or technology solutions.
Strong understanding of procurement, purchasing, sourcing, finance, risk, legal, or operational workflows.
Experience partnering with technology teams to design, implement, and scale business processes and systems.
Proven ability to drive execution in high-growth, rapidly changing, and ambiguous environments.
Strong project management, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with procurement and enterprise platforms such as Zip, Oracle, OneTrust, Navan, Brex, VNDLY, Salesforce, or similar systems.
Experience supporting change management, enablement, training, and organizational adoption efforts.

The Hardware Procurement Operations team supports the operational flow of goods and hardware purchasing across OpenAI's hardware business units. We help teams turn business needs into controlled, accurate, and executable procurement activity, from request intake through purchase orders, supplier coordination, change management, receiving readiness, and downstream invoice support.
As OpenAI scales, we are building procurement operations that can support changing hardware needs, new business unit priorities, and increasing operational complexity. That means creating practical standards where they help, preserving flexibility where the business requires it, and continuously improving how requests, suppliers, POs, data, and controls move through our systems.
About the Role
As a Senior Manager of Procurement Operations focused on Hardware, you will own procurement operations for one or more assigned hardware business units. You will be the day-to-day DRI for hardware and goods procurement activity, leading work from intake through purchase requests, POs, supplier needs, changes, receiving readiness, and operational escalations.
This is a hands-on operator-builder role for someone who understands the practical complexity of hardware and goods procurement and can both run the work and redesign how the work gets done. You will keep work moving while improving the operating model through better systems, workflows, automation, AI-enabled processes, controls, metrics, and operating leverage. You will evaluate how people, process, policy, systems, data, fiscal controls, and accounting practices come together, and you will work closely with other Central Procurement and BU Procurement subject area owners as a team to define and drive standardization where it is practical and applicable.
We work closely with hardware business teams, Strategic Sourcing, Finance, Legal, Security, Financial Risk Management, Accounting, and Accounts Payable. Our goal is to make it easier for hardware teams to move quickly while ensuring procurement activity is complete, policy-aligned, and reliable for the teams that depend on it.
This role requires strong judgment, ownership, and financial fluency. Hardware teams need speed, flexibility, and clear answers; Procurement Operations also needs clean data, fiscal controls, accounting alignment, auditability, commitment visibility, accrual readiness, and reliable downstream handoffs. You will balance those needs in a changing environment, understand how upstream procurement choices affect downstream financial outcomes, and drive measurable improvements in request-to-PO cycle time, PO quality, exception rates, receiving readiness, invoice match performance, commitment visibility, and close readiness.

In this role, you will:
Own procurement operations outcomes for assigned hardware business unit teams and serve as their primary Procurement Operations DRI.
Redesign workflows, intake paths, routing logic, and operating rhythms so hardware procurement operations can scale without linear headcount growth.
Lead hardware and goods procurement operations from request intake through PO creation, PO maintenance, supplier coordination, receiving readiness, and invoice-readiness handoffs.
Drive alignment with hardware stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve blockers, and keep procurement activity moving with the right level of control.
Ensure requests and POs are complete, policy-aligned, audit-ready, and supported by clean operational data.
Identify and resolve issues related to supplier setup, supplier requirements, PO structure, receiving, documentation, approvals, and downstream invoice matching.
Balance urgent business needs with procurement controls, approval requirements, exception paths, and auditability.
Work closely with Procurement subject area owners as a team to standardize workflows, intake requirements, operating rhythms, and metrics where practical.
Identify repeatable work patterns, define system and process requirements, and help build scalable workflows, automations, controls, and reporting for assigned hardware business units.
Build operating leverage through practical documentation, SOPs, playbooks, dashboards, templates, self-service guidance, intake logic, and AI-enabled workflow improvements that reduce repeated manual follow-up and recurring exceptions.
Serve as the primary operational escalation point for assigned hardware business units, escalating risks early and driving issues through to clear resolution.
You might thrive in this role if you:
Bring 7+ years of procurement operations, P2P, supply chain operations, or related experience, ideally in hardware, goods, manufacturing, infrastructure, lab, data center, device, or similarly complex physical-goods environments.
Demonstrate a strong working understanding of fiscal controls, accounting-adjacent procurement practices, invoice matching, accrual support, commitment visibility, and audit-ready documentation.
Navigate request-to-PO operations, supplier workflows, PO maintenance, receiving dependencies, change management, and downstream invoice-readiness requirements with confidence.

About the Role
We are seeking a Facilities Operations Manager to support the commissioning, operational readiness, and long-term operation of next-generation AI data center campuses.
This role sits at the intersection of construction, commissioning, hardware deployment, and facilities operations. You will be responsible for ensuring mission-critical infrastructure is prepared to support hardware deployment, transitioned successfully into production operations, and maintained to the highest standards of reliability and availability.
You will lead day-to-day operational execution across electrical, mechanical, controls, and supporting infrastructure systems while partnering closely with commissioning teams, site operators, vendors, and engineering organizations. This role requires a strong blend of technical depth, operational leadership, and cross-functional execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day operations of mission-critical facility infrastructure across AI compute campuses.
Own operational readiness activities supporting new campus deployments and infrastructure expansion.
Partner with commissioning teams to transition facilities from construction and startup into steady-state operations.
Develop, implement, and continuously improve operating procedures, maintenance programs, and response plans.
Lead infrastructure incident response efforts and coordinate recovery activities during critical events.
Drive root cause analysis investigations and corrective action programs to improve reliability and operational performance.
Manage vendors, contractors, and service providers supporting facility operations.
Partner with hardware deployment, networking, and engineering teams to coordinate infrastructure changes and maintenance activities.
Monitor facility performance, operational risk, and capacity utilization across critical systems.
Support staffing, training, and development of facilities operations personnel.

Qualifications
8+ years of experience operating mission-critical facilities, data centers, industrial infrastructure, or large-scale technical operations environments.
Possess strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, generators, UPS systems, cooling systems, and building controls.
Have experience supporting commissioning, operational readiness, or infrastructure turnover programs.
Have led facility operations teams, contractors, and third-party vendors.
Are comfortable responding to incidents and making decisions in high-pressure operational environments.
Have experience developing maintenance strategies, operating procedures, and reliability programs.

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing (GTM) Leader to lead strategic sourcing and commercial enablement for OpenAI’s Go-to-Market organization across B2B and B2C channels. You will manage substantial and rapidly growing spend while shaping sourcing strategies and scalable commercial pathways across Media, Creative, Production, Influencer, Agency, Sponsorships, Analytics, Communications, and Event suppliers in support of high-impact global initiatives. You’ll help evolve our GTM procurement function from reactive deal support into a speed-enabling, scalable commercial engine that delivers cost efficiency, launch readiness, and strong governance in a fast-moving environment.
In this role, you will:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies across GTM, Brand, Global Affairs, Events, Growth, and Partnership activities—spanning both B2B and B2C channels—that align with our mission and business objectives.
Lead the strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationship management of key partners across media planning and buying, creative and production, creator/influencer, agencies, communications, sponsorships, partnerships, events, research, and analytics.
Lead and develop a lean, high-performing team of direct reports and contractors while remaining deeply hands-on in complex negotiations and high-volume deal execution; accountable for team output, execution quality, stakeholder experience, and scaling the function effectively.
Negotiate high-value and high-visibility commercial agreements that optimize cost, improve flexibility, and support time-sensitive launches, campaigns, placements, and partnerships.
Partner closely with Marketing , Creative & Production, Growth, Partnerships, Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional stakeholders to understand business priorities and align sourcing strategies accordingly.
Oversee a complex GTM supplier ecosystem, ensuring supplier scalability, rapid onboarding, seamless activation, and timely service delivery across multiple concurrent workstreams.
Identify and implement cost and commercial optimization strategies without compromising quality, speed, business impact, or launch readiness.
Enable major campaigns, brand moments, partnerships, and events by building sourcing approaches that can operate effectively under compressed timelines and evolving business requirements.
Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging GTM commercial models to inform sourcing decisions and maintain a competitive advantage.
Provide strategic insights on spend, supplier performance, cycle times, savings, and sourcing initiatives to senior leadership to support fast, informed decision-making.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations while designing fit-for-purpose procurement pathways that reduce friction and maintain appropriate risk controls.
Build repeatable commercial pathways, templates, and approval mechanisms that reduce cycle time and minimize repeated Legal, Finance, and Procurement review.
Standardize sourcing and contracting approaches for recurring GTM motions such as media activations, production SOWs, creator/influencer engagements, and partnership structures.
Manage a portfolio that includes both large strategic negotiations and high-throughput transaction volume, balancing speed, rigor, and stakeholder experience.
Support executive-priority GTM and brand initiatives that may involve nontraditional suppliers, culturally relevant activations, and bespoke commercial structures.
You might thrive in this role if you have:
12+ years of progressive procurement experience.
10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing across marketing, advertising, communications, media, creator/influencer, sponsorships, partnerships, production, and events within major consumer or business brands.
5+ years of people leadership experience.
Deep knowledge of both B2B and B2C GTM channels, supplier landscapes, and the commercial dynamics of paid media, production, creator ecosystems, agencies, and partnerships.
Proven expertise supporting large and fast-growing GTM budgets and enabling high-impact campaigns, partnerships, activations, and events rapidly and effectively.
Experience managing a broad GTM supplier landscape, including identifying, evaluating, and scaling relationships with key suppliers across media, production, creator/influencer, agencies, sponsorships, partnerships, and insights/analytics.
Strong negotiation and cross-functional stakeholder management skills, with a track record of securing high-value, favorable agreements in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.
Excellent analytical abilities to generate strategic insights from spend data, supplier performance, market trends, cycle times, and the effectiveness of GTM investment decisions.
Superior organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage both strategic negotiations and high-throughput execution across multiple complex priorities.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong instinct for designing scalable processes, templates, and workflows that improve speed and reduce friction in GTM procurement.

About the Role
As a Support Vendor Manager, you will own the health, performance, and long-term scalability of multiple support partner and vendor relationships. This is a vendor leadership role first and foremost: you will drive commercial and operational accountability (SLAs, QBRs, escalation paths, remediation plans), while also building the operating model that enables support to scale without linear headcount growth.
You’ll collaborate closely with User Operations teams (e.g., Trust & Safety, Fraud & Risk), Systems/Tooling, Data partners, and Product/PM stakeholders as we launch new workflow and launch and scale new programs.
You’ll be responsible for:
End-to-end vendor leadership: Own day-to-day oversight, relationship health, and executive-level accountability for multiple support vendors/BPOs.
Performance management & remediation: Define and manage SLA/KPI performance expectations, run WBRs/QBRs, identify performance gaps, and drive structured turnaround plans with clear owners and timelines.
Escalation and risk management: Serve as the primary escalation point for vendor issues, including incident response, surge events, quality regressions, and continuity risks; ensure vendors have strong operational controls and playbooks.
Commercial and operational governance: Partner on contract levers, staffing commitments, service scope changes, and operational cadences; ensure governance mechanisms produce measurable outcomes.
Operational reporting and executive narratives: Produce clear, decision-ready reporting on vendor health, capacity risk, and scaling constraints; translate operational signals into recommendations for leadership.
We’re looking for someone with:
5+ years in vendor/BPO operations management, support operations, or partner performance leadership in a scaled environment.
Proven ability to run vendor governance: QBRs, SLA/KPI design, escalation paths, remediation plans, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
Awareness of and some experience with workforce planning approaches—e.g., forecasting frameworks, capacity models, staffing strategies, and performance-to-plan systems. across global, multi-site support operations.
Strong analytical and operational rigor: comfort working with data to define inputs/assumptions, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive outcomes (you do not need to be a data scientist, but you must be fluent).
Familiarity with support tooling and operational systems (e.g., Salesforce Service Cloud or similar), and comfort partnering with Systems/Tooling to implement scalable processes.
Strong communication skills and executive presence: ability to align diverse stakeholders, negotiate priorities, and drive accountability across internal teams and external partners.
Comfort operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where you’re expected to build the structure, not just maintain the inherited ones.

About the Role
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager who is ready to take on global-scale challenges in AI compute supply and manufacturing — an opportunity to shape the future of supercomputing.
As part of the Infrastructure Strategy & Delivery organization supporting Industrial Compute, OpenAI’s next-generation supercomputing platform, you will lead sourcing and strategic supplier engagements for compute infrastructure at hyperscale. This role will drive commercial strategy and supplier accountability across server platforms, accelerators, rack systems, and associated thermal & power delivery components.
This is not traditional procurement — it is foundational work enabling OpenAI to deploy compute faster and more efficiently than anyone in the world, while building deeply-integrated partnerships with the global compute supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for the next generation of AI compute infrastructure in partnership with engineering and program leadership.
Stay at the leading edge of industry and supply-chain trends to inform category strategy and long-range planning.
Initiate, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements across OEM/ODM/JDMs for accelerators, GPUs/CPUs, server platforms, rack systems, liquid-cooling components, PSUs, and supporting mechanical/electrical subsystems.
Secure capacity and optionality across a rapidly scaling compute supply chain while mitigating risk and ensuring manufacturing readiness.
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, program delivery, legal, operations, and finance to ensure sourcing strategies align with technical and program objectives.
Drive competitive sourcing events, commercial structuring, and vendor accountability across the compute bill of materials.
Provide technical and commercial evaluation guidance during supplier selection and product qualification cycles.
Deliver portfolio-level visibility to executive stakeholders on progress, risks, and decision points with clarity and precision.
Qualifications
10+ years of strategic sourcing and vendor management experience, with deep expertise in compute systems and hardware supply chains.
Demonstrated leadership sourcing for high-performance compute, accelerators, and data-center server platforms — ideally including OEM/JDM/ODM engagement.
Technical fluency in compute architecture, including GPUs, CPUs, server platforms, rack systems, cold-plate & liquid-cooling design, and associated power delivery subsystems.
Proven success negotiating complex capital procurement agreements and supplier capacity programs at hyperscale.
Ability to influence cross-functional technical and executive teams and drive alignment in fast-moving, high-stakes environments.
Strong analytical decision-making and commercial structuring skills, balancing speed, cost, technical requirements, and strategic risk.
Experience with global manufacturing, supply chain readiness, long-lead materials, and ramp-to-volume for high-complexity hardware.
Familiarity with hyperscale data-center operational requirements, testing/qualification cycles, and integration workflows.
Procurement, supply chain, program management, or data-center hardware certifications are advantageous.
