About the Role Blueland is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and proactive Retail Sales Planning Manager to serve as the operational backbone of our retail business. This role will partner closely with Retail Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Operations to ensure our retail customers have the right products, pricing, promotions, and execution to drive sustainable growth. The Retail Sales Planning Manager will own many of the critical processes that keep our retail business running—from new item setup and promotional planning to retail execution, customer documentation, inventory management, and business reporting. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving problems, maintains strong operational discipline, and is passionate about building scalable processes that enable commercial success. This role reports to the VP of Retail Sales. Responsibilities Retail Planning & Execution Coordinate retailer promotions in collaboration with the respective account sales leader from planning through execution. Support retailer merchandising/marketing initiatives including endcaps, demos, sampling programs, in-store signage, digital campaigns, and more. Lead retail execution programs and field activity through third-party partners. Maintain and operationalize retailer-agnostic shopper marketing programs including reward apps, coupons, IRCs, community events, and other ad hoc opportunities. Retail Business Operations Manage new item setup and product onboarding across retail customers, brokers, and other third-party resources. Maintain retailer price lists, customer contracts, cost change documentation, and promotional calendars. Own retailer line review and reset calendars while ensuring all supporting materials are accurate and up to date. Manage SKU master files, retailer documentation, and commercial knowledge repositories. Business Analysis & Forecasting Maintain retail sales reporting, including updating latest performance data. Utilize automated and ad hoc analyses to inform shipment and promotional forecasts, working closely with account sales leaders to input monthly forecast adjustments. Analyze retailer inventory levels and ordering trends, quickly identifying potential out-of-stock risks or opportunities. Monitor excess inventory and partner with cross-functional teams to develop action plans. Facilitate retail sales team’s monthly S&OP responsibilities, ensuring forecast updates, review meetings, documentation, etc. are accomplished accurately and on time. Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate with Finance on deductions, reclaims, promotional planning, pricing updates, and customer financial documentation/reconciliation. Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure appropriate levels of inventory and ultimately orchestrate successful execution of customer plans. Coordinate with Marketing on shopper marketing programs and retailer activation opportunities. Serve as internal communications point of contact for various ad hoc retail requests. Qualifications 2-5 years of experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry. Advanced proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience forecasting/demand planning and S&OP processes and tools preferred. Familiarity with Kroger, Meijer, UNFI, Whole Foods, Thrive, Target, and Costco and their portals preferred. Experience with Looker (or similar BI/visualization tools) is a plus. Strong track record of leveraging data to build compelling business cases. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy. Ability to travel 2-4X per year for customer & Blueland team meetings, demos, etc. Salary The salary range for this position is $90,000-120,000 per year. We prioritize our planet and our people. About the Role The Process Engineer will join our Innovation team and serve as the critical bridge between the Formulation team and contract manufacturing partners. This person will work closely with formulators from early development through commercial production, developing a deep understanding of each product's ingredients, specifications, and performance claims, then translating that knowledge into practical, scalable manufacturing solutions. Day-to-day, the Process Engineer will identify opportunities to optimize formulas for manufacturability without compromising quality or efficacy, evaluate excipients and processing aids, and build a strong command of the equipment capabilities and constraints across the contract manufacturing network. When challenges arise during scale-up, validation, or production, this person will be responsible for troubleshooting and finding solutions that work on the floor. This is a highly cross-functional role. The Process Engineer will collaborate regularly with Formulation, Quality, Operations, Procurement, and Contract Manufacturing teams, and the ability to align diverse stakeholders around practical, balanced decisions will be just as important as technical expertise. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with both powder and liquid formulations, a background in household cleaning, personal care, or a related consumer products category, and a track record of successfully navigating the scale-up process from bench to commercial production. This role reports to the Chief Innovation Officer. Responsibilities Partner closely with the Formulation team during development to fully understand each formula, including functional ingredients, excipients, specifications, and product claims Identify formulation “levers” that can be adjusted to improve manufacturability while maintaining product performance, quality, specifications, and claims Understand the equipment, capabilities, and limitations of each contract manufacturer to ensure formulas are designed for successful production Evaluate excipients and processing aids that may improve manufacturing efficiency, flowability, mixing, filling, stability, or overall process robustness Translate formulation requirements into practical manufacturing guidance for powders and liquids Support troubleshooting during scale-up, validation, and commercial production Work cross-functionally with Formulation, Quality, Operations, Procurement, and Contract Manufacturing teams to resolve process and formula-related challenges Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field preferred Experience working as a Process Engineer with powder and liquid formulations Background in household cleaning, personal care, or adjacent consumer products preferred Strong understanding of formulation, scale-up, and manufacturing processes Ability to assess contract manufacturer equipment capabilities and limitations Experience troubleshooting production issues and recommending practical formula or process adjustments Knowledge of excipients, processing aids, and raw materials that support manufacturability Comfortable balancing manufacturability, product claims, specifications, quality, and cost Location & Travel Remote, full-time position with candidates ideally in the Midwest or Mountain regions. This role requires frequent (60-80%) travel to contract manufacturing sites. Salary The salary range for this position is $110,000-140,000 per year. We prioritize our planet and our people.
