C1.ai http://C1.ai is the universal control plane that powers the agentic enterprise.
Every organization runs on hundreds of systems that need to answer the same basic question: who can do what, when, and why?
We're building something foundational: a horizontal control plane that lets both humans and AI agents plug in to navigate the AI-enabled enterprise, to understand who and what has access, and manage it safely as agents take on more of the work. SaaS apps, infrastructure, internal tools, AI agents…if it has a concept of 'who,' it should connect to us.
While we are still small in number, we move fast. If you want to help build this from the ground up, you'll have real ownership here.
THE ROLE
This role is responsible for owning and evolving a core area of C1's Identity Governance platform. You'll partner closely with customers, Customer Success, and Engineering to deliver new capabilities, improve existing workflows, and ensure our platform continues to solve mission-critical identity challenges for enterprise customers. This is an execution-focused product role where strong product judgment, deep domain expertise, and customer empathy matter as much as product strategy.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own a core area of C1's Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) platform, driving product strategy, roadmap execution, and customer outcomes for a mature, enterprise-scale product surface.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Customer Success, Support, and Sales to prioritize customer needs, resolve escalations, and continuously improve product quality, reliability, and usability.
- Translate customer feedback, usage data, and market insights into well-defined product investments that balance customer impact, technical complexity, and long-term platform strategy.
- Make thoughtful prioritization decisions across feature development, technical debt, scalability, and operational improvements to maximize customer value.
- Define clear product requirements and success metrics, ensuring engineering teams have the context needed to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with Design, Engineering, Go-to-Market, and Customer Success to successfully launch new capabilities for existing products and drive customer adoption.
- Monitor product health through customer feedback, adoption metrics, operational signals, and business outcomes, using data to inform future investment decisions.
- Serve as the product expert for your domain, communicating roadmap priorities, tradeoffs, and strategic direction to internal stakeholders and customers.
YOU'LL LIKELY HAVE:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience building and scaling enterprise SaaS products, preferably in cybersecurity, identity, or infrastructure software.
- Deep domain expertise in Identity Governance & Administration (IGA), Identity and Access Management (IAM), privileged access, authentication, authorization, or adjacent security technologies.
- Experience owning a mature product area, balancing customer requests, strategic investments, platform improvements, and operational excellence.
- Strong product judgment and a demonstrated ability to prioritize competing customer needs, technical constraints, and business objectives.
- Experience partnering closely with Customer Success and Engineering to solve real customer challenges and deliver measurable business outcomes.
- A data-informed approach to product management, using qualitative customer insights and quantitative product metrics to guide decision-making.
- A collaborative, ownership-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders across Engineering, Design, Go-to-Market, Customer Success, and executive leadership.
- A track record of driving product quality and customer experience beyond feature delivery.
- Alignment with our company values: Be Deliberate, Show Kindness, Earn the Customer's Trust, Trust & Empower your People, and Embrace Change.
Salary range: $180k – $210k

C1.ai http://C1.ai is building a horizontal identity platform
Identity is becoming the control plane for modern companies. Every organization runs on dozens—sometimes hundreds—of systems that need to answer the same basic question: who can do what, when, and why?
The old approach doesn’t hold up. It’s either IT teams duct-taping systems together, or rigid IGA tools that only work across a narrow set of HR and SSO integrations. That’s not going to cut it for the next decade.
We’re building something more foundational: a horizontal identity platform that any company—and increasingly, any AI agent—can plug into to understand and manage access. SaaS apps, infrastructure, internal tools, AI agents—if it has a concept of “who,” it should connect to us.
We’re still small, and we move fast. If you want to help build this from the ground up, you’ll have real ownership here.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the reliability and scalability of our platform—design, build, and operate the infrastructure that keeps C1 running for customers who depend on us. You'll work on both our core cloud environment, as well as our FedRAMP environment.
- Build observability that drives action—create monitoring, alerting, and tooling that helps teams understand system behavior and respond to incidents quickly
- Drive operational excellence across engineering—partner with product teams to ensure new features are built with reliability in mind from the start
- Automate relentlessly—if you're doing something twice, build a system to do it for you. We believe in infrastructure as code and eliminating toil.
- Respond to and learn from incidents—lead incident response, conduct blameless postmortems, and drive systemic improvements
- Plan and execute infrastructure projects with incremental deliverables—you'll assess technical risks, communicate tradeoffs, and ship iteratively
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
YOU LIKELY HAVE
- A track record of building and operating production systems at scale—you've kept real systems running for real customers
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi, or similar)
- Strong programming skills in Go, Python, or similar—you write tools and automation, not just scripts
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production
- Strong systems thinking—you understand how components interact and where failures cascade
- High agency—you figure out what needs to be built, not just how to build what you're told. You move fast and unblock yourself.
- Deep understanding of observability—you know how to instrument systems, build dashboards, and create alerts that actually matter
- Experience with AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar)—you're already using these tools and excited about what's next
- Clear, persuasive communication—you can explain complex systems to diverse audiences and drive alignment during incidents
- Ego in check—you care about getting it right, not being right
YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE
- Experience with AI/ML infrastructure or serving LLMs in production
- Background in security-focused environments or compliance frameworks (SOC 2, FedRAMP, etc.)
- Experience building developer platforms or internal tooling
- Familiarity with identity systems and protocols (SCIM, SAML, OAuth, LDAP)
- Contributions to open source projects or engineering communities
How we work
- Impact matters more than ownership.
- We’d rather ship something real than talk about it.
- People here are trusted to operate independently.
- If something isn’t working, we fix it properly—we don’t paper over it.
- Using AI effectively is expected, not optional.
Compensation & benefits
Salary range: $180k – $250k
- Meaningful equity
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
- In-office in Portland
- Solid benefits across the board
Due to the nature of this role and its responsibilities supporting our FedRAMP-authorized environment, candidates must be U.S. citizens. This position may involve work that the U.S. Government has determined can only be performed by U.S. citizens on U.S. soil.

While we are still small in number, we move fast. If you want to help build this from the ground up, you'll have real ownership here.
THE ROLE
We're looking for a Group Product Manager to help define the future of identity security. You'll own significant areas of the product, working closely with Engineering, Design, Customer Success, Sales, and our customers to identify problems worth solving and deliver solutions that create measurable customer value.
This is a high-ownership role. You'll drive products from discovery through launch and iteration, balancing customer needs, technical complexity, and business priorities. You'll spend as much time talking to customers as you do working with engineers, ensuring we're building the right things and shipping them quickly.
AI is fundamentally changing how software is built and how identity is managed. We're looking for a product manager who natively uses AI to improve product discovery, customer research, roadmap planning, and execution, while also helping define how AI becomes a core part of our platform.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own product strategy: Define vision, strategy, and roadmaps for key areas of the platform, ensuring investments align with customer needs and company priorities.
- Drive product execution: Partner closely with Engineering and Design to take products from concept to launch, making thoughtful tradeoffs while maintaining a high quality bar.
- Talk to customers constantly: Build deep customer empathy through interviews, support conversations, design partnerships, and product usage analysis to identify opportunities with meaningful business impact.
- Define success: Establish clear product goals and success metrics, measure outcomes, and continuously iterate based on customer feedback and data.
- Lead cross-functional alignment: Bring together Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and executive leadership around product direction and execution.
- Build with AI: Leverage AI throughout the product development lifecycle—from customer research and competitive analysis to specification writing and roadmap planning—and help shape AI-powered capabilities within our product.
- Raise the bar: Continuously improve how Product works by refining planning processes, product quality, customer feedback loops, and execution speed.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
YOU LIKELY HAVE
- Experience taking a product from 0 to GA in a category without an established playbook where you've had to define the problem space yourself, not just execute against one someone else scoped.
- 7+ years of Product Management experience shipping successful B2B SaaS products.
- Experience using AI tools as part of your daily product workflow, with enthusiasm for applying AI to both product development and customer experiences.
- Exceptional customer empathy and a passion for understanding workflows, pain points, and opportunities.
- Excellent analytical skills and comfort using quantitative and qualitative data to guide decisions.
- A highly collaborative working style—you enjoy partnering with Engineering and Design to solve difficult problems together.
- High agency and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving startup environments.
YOU MIGHT ALSO HAVE
- Experience in identity, security, infrastructure, developer tools, or IT admin products.
- Experience working closely with enterprise customers and translating complex requirements into elegant product experiences.
- Experience leading products through periods of rapid company growth.
Compensation & benefits
Salary range: $200k – $250k
- Meaningful equity
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
- In-office in Portland, San Francisco, or New York

C1.ai http://c1.ai is building a horizontal identity platform

We’re building something more foundational: a horizontal identity platform that any company—and increasingly, any AI agent—can plug into to understand and manage access. SaaS apps, infrastructure, internal tools, AI agents—if it has a concept of “who,” it should connect to us.
We’re still small, and we move fast. If you want to help build this from the ground up, you’ll have real ownership here.
How engineering works here
We don’t hire into narrow roles—we hire strong engineers.
Most work comes from a shared pool of high-impact projects, and we assign it based on where it matters most. Some teams own specific areas where deep expertise pays off, but we don’t optimize for rigid ownership. We optimize for shipping.
By default, engineers here are generalists. You’re expected to take things end-to-end: design the data model, build the API, ship the UI, roll it out, and talk to customers. The lines between frontend, backend, and infra aren’t where the real work happens.
That said, we do hire specialists. If you’ve gone deep in areas like connectors, performance, security, or distributed systems—and you’ve shipped meaningful work there—we want to talk. Just know that even specialists here step outside their lane when needed.
We hire across levels, but the baseline is consistent: you can operate independently and deliver in a modern engineering environment. That usually maps to a strong senior level or above. We hold a high bar, and every new hire is expected to raise it.
What you’ll do
- Take on projects that matter and see them through to production.
- Build features end-to-end, from data model to UI, and own them after launch.
- Make decisions about architecture, scope, and tradeoffs without waiting around for direction.
- Work closely with customers, design, and product to figure out what’s actually worth building.
- Contribute to a high standard of code quality, system design, and operational reliability.
What we look for
You likely:
- Have built and operated real production systems.
- Are comfortable moving across the stack, and know when to go deep.
- Prefer getting things done over debating ownership or process.
- Communicate clearly, especially in writing.
- Use AI tools because they make you more effective.
You might also:
- Have deep experience in identity, security, distributed systems, or large-scale data systems.
- Have worked at a fast-growing startup and know what that environment demands.
- Have built products or platforms for other developers.
How we work

- We’d rather ship something real than talk about it.
- People here are trusted to operate independently.
- If something isn’t working, we fix it properly—we don’t paper over it.
