This full-time position may be located at either our Allen, Texas, or Torrance, California facility.
As an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer focused on Electrical Integration, you will develop and improve the manufacturing processes used to integrate complex printed circuit board assemblies, electrical components, and interconnects into mechanical housings and higher-level avionics assemblies.
This role requires an understanding of electrical hardware, mechanical assembly, and manufacturing process control. You will write the work instructions and establish the process controls required to ensure avionics assemblies are built safely, correctly, and repeatably. You will also partner with other engineering teams to support the development of tooling, automation, inspection methods, and production testing.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with flight hardware and can translate electrical, mechanical, thermal, and environmental requirements into practical manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities

Define and validate critical assembly parameters, including material placement, surface preparation, fastener torque, tightening sequence, compression, alignment, and cleanliness
Partner with Design, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to support the development of tooling, fixtures, automation, inspection methods, and production test equipment
Review electrical schematics, PCBA drawings, mechanical drawings, bills of material, and assembly documentation to determine manufacturing requirements
Provide manufacturability feedback related to assembly sequence, component access, connector routing, grounding, thermal management, tolerance stack-up, tooling access, and test access
Troubleshoot electrical and electro-mechanical assembly issues and support root-cause investigations and corrective actions
Support technicians during development and production builds and provide training on new or improved manufacturing processes
Support the transition of avionics hardware from development builds into controlled, repeatable production
Partner with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain, and Production to resolve manufacturing issues
Improve first-pass yield, assembly time, workmanship, production flow, and process repeatability
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace engineering, or a related technical field
3+ years of experience in avionics, electronics, electrical integration, electro-mechanical assembly, or high-reliability manufacturing
Hands-on experience integrating PCBAs or electrical components into mechanical assemblies
Experience developing manufacturing processes, work instructions, inspection criteria, or process controls
Ability to read electrical schematics, PCBA drawings, mechanical drawings, and manufacturing documentation

Electrical Engineer
As an Electrical Engineer, you will become the Responsible Engineer for multiple mission-critical circuit card assemblies (CCAs) that power Castelion's flight systems. Electrical Engineer
As an Electrical Engineer, you will become the Responsible Engineer for multiple mission-critical circuit card assemblies (CCAs) that power Castelion's flight systems. While the initial designs have been completed, you'll take ownership of the products through qualification, production readiness, and full-rate manufacturing.

Responsibilities
Serve as the Responsible Engineer for multiple circuit card assemblies (CCAs) supporting flight hardware.
Drive electronic hardware through design verification, qualification, and production readiness.
Support environmental, electrical, and functional qualification testing and document test results.
Partner with Quality Engineering to establish production metrics, acceptance criteria, and manufacturing quality processes.
Support the transition of electronic hardware into Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) and Full Rate Production (FRP).
Investigate and resolve manufacturing, production, and supplier issues to ensure uninterrupted hardware delivery.
Collaborate with component manufacturers and suppliers to address obsolescence, availability, and technical challenges.
Update schematics and documentation to improve manufacturability, reliability, and component availability.
Review PCB layouts and schematic designs to ensure compliance with design intent and manufacturing best practices.
Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work cross-functionally with electrical, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and integration teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Contribute to process improvements that increase product quality, production efficiency, and hardware reliability.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PCB layout files.
Experience modifying schematics using Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools.
Understanding of printed circuit board (PCB) and circuit card assembly (CCA) manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with electronic components, power distribution, signal integrity, and circuit design fundamentals.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with Cadence Allegro or other PCB design toolsets.
Familiarity with IPC standards for PCB and electronics manufacturing.

HITL Test Infrastructure Engineer
As a HITL Test Infrastructure Engineer, you will architect, develop, and own Castelion's Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) test infrastructure used to verify embedded software and firmware running on flight-critical hardware. Your systems will enable developers and automated CI/CD pipelines to reserve physical hardware, deploy software and firmware, execute automated tests, and rapidly validate system performance using production-representative hardware.
You'll work across software, firmware, avionics, FPGA, electrical, and systems engineering teams to build scalable, resilient, and highly automated test environments supporting microcontrollers, FPGAs, GPUs, and custom electronics. Your work will significantly improve development velocity and software quality by providing engineers with fast, reliable feedback before hardware reaches the vehicle.

Responsibilities

Develop automated test frameworks that verify software loading, boot sequences, runtime performance, functional behavior, and system requirements.

Develop Python-based test software, automation tools, and infrastructure to maximize test coverage and engineering productivity.
Design automated test execution strategies for code commits, pull requests, nightly builds, release candidates, and other development milestones.
Build reliable hardware reservation, scheduling, and resource management capabilities that maximize lab utilization.
Partner closely with software, firmware, FPGA, avionics, electrical, and systems engineers to define verification requirements and expand automated test coverage.
Debug complex issues spanning hardware, firmware, software, networking, and infrastructure.
Continuously improve the reliability, scalability, uptime, automation, and user experience of Castelion's HITL infrastructure.
Support board bring-up, hardware integration, lab automation, and prototype testing activities as new hardware platforms are introduced.
Establish best practices for automated verification, hardware management, and continuous integration across engineering teams.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience building automated test frameworks using tools such as pytest, Robot Framework, or similar.
Familiarity with embedded software and firmware development workflows, including flashing, booting, debugging, and runtime validation.

We are seeking a Senior Avionics Systems Engineer to define and deliver the avionics architecture for Castelion's long-range hypersonic strike vehicles. This role is responsible for the overall integration of the vehicle's avionics systems, ensuring that power, control electronics, communications, sensors, embedded computing, and flight software function as a cohesive flight system. You will work hands-on with multidisciplinary engineering teams to architect, integrate, test, and validate flight electronics from concept through flight test in a fast-paced, hardware-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Define and maintain the avionics system architecture for flight vehicles, including power distribution, communications, grounding, interfaces, and system integration
Lead the integration of avionics subsystems, including flight computers, sensors, power electronics, control electronics, RF systems, flight termination systems, and propulsion electronics
Develop system-level requirements, interface definitions, wiring architectures, and integration documentation

Experience leading the development and integration of complex avionics systems from concept through qualification and flight testing
Experience with schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer or equivalent ECAD tools
Strong understanding of analog, digital, power, and embedded electronics design principles
