Ready to accelerate your career?
Clara is the fastest-growing company in Latin America. We've built the leading solution for companies to make and manage all their payments. We already help over 20,000 large and growing businesses operate with agility and financial clarity through locally issued corporate cards, bill pay, financing, and a powerful B2B platform built for scale.
Clara is backed by some of the most successful investors in the world, including top regional VCs like monashees, Kaszek, and Canary, and leading global funds like Notable Capital, Coatue, DST Global Partners, ICONIQ Growth, General Catalyst, Citi Ventures, SV Angel, Citius, Endeavor Catalyst, and Goldman Sachs - in addition to dozens of angel investors and local family offices.
We’re building the financial infrastructure that powers high-performing organizations across the region. We invite you to join us if you want to be part of a fast-paced environment that will accelerate your career and support you to do some of the best work of your life alongside a passionate and committed team distributed across the Americas.
What you'll do
AI Enablement is the team that builds the AI infrastructure the rest of Clara's engineering org runs on. We're not a team that "adds AI to a product" — we build the tools other teams build with. Live examples today: Clara Builders (an internal skills marketplace and self-service app platform), an agent that turns Figma designs directly into production code through MCP, a documentation agent that keeps internal knowledge in sync with the codebases it describes, and n8n automations already running in production across several business teams.
We're looking for a senior engineer to own the frontend architecture of Clara Builders and go deep on the systems behind it — backend services, agent infrastructure, and the AI tooling other teams across Clara rely on. This is deliberately not a frontend-only role: you'll be expected to move into backend and infra whenever the problem calls for it, and to build AI tooling yourself rather than just apply it to your own tickets.
Concretely, Clara Builders is a Next.js 15 (App Router) + TypeScript app on Prisma/Postgres, with a self-service Dokploy deploy pipeline (staging → beta → production, gated by a pending/approved environment lifecycle) and a Cloudflare AI Gateway layer that proxies multiple LLM providers behind one internal endpoint. You'd be joining while we're actively building the next layer on top of that: OAuth Clients support and unified access proposals, both in progress and largely undocumented today — you'd be shaping them, not inheriting a finished spec.
We move fast and trust our engineers to own outcomes end-to-end. That means autonomy to make decisions, proactivity to surface problems before they become blockers, and the attitude to push initiatives across the finish line without waiting to be told what to do.
Your responsibilities will include:
Owning frontend architecture for Clara Builders (Next.js 15 App Router, React, TypeScript, Tailwind + shadcn/ui) and the component system that powers skills and app generation
Extending the backend in the same repo — Prisma/Postgres data models, auth flows, and the self-service Dokploy deployment pipeline (staging/beta/production with its pending → approved environment lifecycle)
Working directly in the AI Gateway layer — the Cloudflare AI Gateway proxy that fronts multiple LLM providers behind one internal endpoint — to add providers, harden routing, or expose new models to builders
Building and extending agent infrastructure: the Figma-to-code MCP agent, the documentation-sync agent, and the n8n automation flows already running in production
Designing and shipping new AI tooling from scratch — our own roadmap right now includes OAuth Clients and unified access proposals, both undocumented and actively being defined
Contributing to the GitHub org access model: self-service OAuth-based org membership with automated drift detection against clara-team
Setting the technical bar for frontend and AI-tooling work across the pod — through code review and the standard you hold in your own work
Who you are
Solid foundation in modern frontend engineering (React, Next.js App Router, TypeScript, Tailwind/shadcn) — that's the floor of this role, not the ceiling
Real evidence of building on top of LLMs, not just using them — agents, MCP servers/integrations, LLM gateway or proxy patterns, automation pipelines (n8n or similar) — not "I use Copilot daily"
Comfortable stepping into backend when the problem needs it — Postgres, Prisma (or an equivalent typed ORM), auth flows (OAuth/NextAuth-style), API design
High autonomy and ownership mindset — Clara's pod model has no EM assigning tasks; you define your own scope inside the team's goals and drive it
Nice to have: experience with design-to-code pipelines, design systems, or building internal developer platforms
English proficiency
A genuine pull toward AI. You don't need to be an expert, but you're actively experimenting with AI tools in your day-to-day work, keep up with where the space is going, and are eager to apply it to how we build. At Clara, AI is part of how we work, not a side topic
We've kept this list short on purpose — these are the things that actually matter. If you check most of these and the rest you'd close with curiosity and the right tools, we want to hear from you.
Why join Clara
At Clara, you’ll have the autonomy, speed, and support to make meaningful impact — not just on your team, but on how organizations are run across Latin America.

We’re building the financial infrastructure that powers high-performing organizations across the region. We invite you to join us if you want to be part of a fast-paced environment that will accelerate your career and support you to do some of the best work of your life alongside a passionate and committed team distributed across the Americas.
What you'll do
We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join Clara's Payments Tribe — We are responsible for powering seamless, secure, and scalable financial transactions across our entire platform.
In this role, you will focus heavily on the engine under the hood. Your primary strength and passion lie in backend architecture, distributed systems, system design, and complex data orchestration. While your core focus is the backend, you possess the frontend competence required to build clean, functional user interfaces, and ensure smooth API consumption on our client-side applications.
AI fluency is central to how we work on this team — you're expected to use it across the full development lifecycle, from design to deployment, and to reach for it whenever it makes you faster or better.
💡 In this role, you will:
Architect Core Infrastructure: Design, build, and maintain highly secure, resilient backend services in Java/Spring Boot that interface with payment processors and local financial networks across Latin America.
Optimize Data & Performance: Ensure high-availability and asynchronous processing of transaction financial data, keeping system latency low and success rates high.
Bridge to the Frontend: Develop and maintain the React-based frontend applications, dashboards, and internal tooling that interact with your backend services, ensuring deep integration and clean API consumption.
Leverage AI: Use AI tools to automate repetitive engineering workflows, accelerate delivery, and close skill gaps — from scaffolding new banking integrations to generating and reviewing code.
Lead & Mentor: Set the technical bar through backend code reviews, robust system design reviews, and hands-on mentorship of junior and mid-level engineers.
Own System Observability: Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing across the full stack to quickly isolate and fail-gracefully when external financial APIs experience downtime.
👤 Who you are
We're looking for an autonomous, systems-minded engineer who loves complex data flows, values strict security, and understands how to deliver clean code from database to browser.
Must haves:
Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a heavy specialization in Backend/Systems development within a Fullstack or Distributed Systems context.
Backend Mastery (Java / Spring Boot): Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring ecosystem. Deep understanding of relational databases, concurrency, microservices architecture, and building APIs that scale gracefully.
Frontend Competency (React): 2+ years of practical commercial experience with React and its modern ecosystem (Hooks, state management). You don't need to be a CSS pixel-perfect designer, but you must be fully confident in building, structuring, and optimizing responsive web apps.
API & System Integration: Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful and event-driven web services (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
Testing & CI/CD: Strong practices in TDD, integration testing (JUnit, Mockito), and frontend testing, alongside automated deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions).
AI-Native Mindset: Demonstrated use of AI tools throughout the development process (design, coding, debugging). Experience using tools like Claude, Copilot, Devin, or workflow automation like n8n is highly valued.
Communication: Working proficiency in English and comfort collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Operations.
Nice to haves / Pluses:
Fintech Domain Knowledge: Prior experience with high-traffic payment gateways, ledger systems, or local financial networks (like Pix in Brazil).
Security & Compliance: Experience handling sensitive financial data (PCI-DSS standards, encryption, tokenization).

We invite you to join us if you want to be part of a fast-paced environment that will accelerate your career and support you to do some of the best work of your life alongside a passionate and committed team distributed across the Americas.
Clara is looking for a Risk Analytics Lead to own the analytical engine of our Risk function globally. This role sits within the Risk team and is responsible for three interconnected domains: building and maintaining the risk models and scorecards that power credit decisions across our markets; owning Clara's Model Risk Management (MRM) framework; and acting as the Risk team's lead designer for our risk data infrastructure, working hand-in-hand with the Data team on its implementation.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role for someone who combines deep technical expertise in risk modeling with the judgment to govern model risk and the communication skills to bridge Risk, Data, and senior leadership.
What you'll do
Risk Modeling
Design, develop, and maintain the full suite of risk models across the credit lifecycle — scorecards, probability of default (PD), loss given default (LGD), exposure at default (EAD), expected credit loss (ECL), and behavioral models
Own model backtesting, performance monitoring, and recalibration processes; ensure models remain fit for purpose as portfolio composition and macroeconomic conditions evolve
Develop and maintain early warning indicators, portfolio segmentation, and concentration risk analytics
Translate model outputs into actionable credit strategy inputs for Credit Policy and Portfolio Management teams
Model Risk Management (MRM)
Design and own Clara's MRM framework: model inventory, model risk classification, validation standards, and model risk appetite
Define and enforce model governance processes — development standards, independent validation, approval workflows, and ongoing review cadences
Act as internal challenger on all risk models; ensure models are documented, explainable, and auditable
Establish thresholds for model risk escalation and lead remediation when models breach performance benchmarks
Risk Data Infrastructure (Design)
Partner with the Data Engineering team as the Risk domain expert and architecture co-designer for the risk data infrastructure
Define business and analytical requirements for risk data pipelines, feature stores, and reporting layers; ensure the infrastructure supports both real-time decisioning and portfolio analytics needs
Drive adoption of robust data standards within the Risk function — lineage, quality controls, and documentation
Translate Risk's analytical roadmap into concrete data infrastructure requirements; prioritize with the Data team based on business impact
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Build and manage a lean, high-performing Risk Analytics team; define hiring needs and grow the function as Clara scales
Work closely with Credit Policy, Credit Desk, Portfolio Management, and Compliance — act as the technical partner that turns risk strategy into quantified models
Present model performance, MRM status, and analytical insights to senior leadership and, when relevant, to regulators
Champion a data-driven culture within Risk; define standards for analytical rigor and model documentation across the team
Who you are
Must haves
Academic background in Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field
7+ years of experience in credit risk analytics, with hands-on ownership of the full model lifecycle — from development and validation to production monitoring and recalibration
Demonstrated experience building or managing a Model Risk Management framework (model inventory, validation governance, model risk appetite)
Deep proficiency in Python or R for modeling, and SQL for data extraction and analysis
Experience translating model requirements into data infrastructure needs; comfortable working alongside data engineers as a domain expert and co-designer
Strong grasp of credit risk regulation in at least one of Clara's markets (CNBV/Mexico, SFC/Colombia, BACEN/Brazil)
Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership
Fluency in English and Spanish (Portuguese a strong plus)
Nice to haves
Experience in B2B credit or working capital products (trade credit, credit lines, commercial cards)
Familiarity with fintech or high-growth startup environments where you've had to build infrastructure and processes from scratch
Exposure to audit processes, regulatory reporting, and model-related regulatory examinations
Experience building or managing small analytics or data science teams
Hands-on experience with MLOps tooling, model monitoring platforms, or feature stores
Knowledge of Basel credit risk frameworks (IRB approaches, ECL under IFRS 9)

We invite you to join us if you want to be part of a fast-paced environment that will accelerate your career and support you to do some of the best work of your life alongside a passionate and committed team distributed across the Americas.
Senior Fullstack Engineer — Onboarding
We're looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join Clara's Onboarding team — the team behind one of the most critical moments in the Clara journey: the moment a business decides to trust us. We own the full experience from sign-up to first transaction: KYB and KYC flows, document collection and verification, identity validation, and account activation. The complexity is real — we operate across multiple countries each with its own regulatory framework, and we manage a growing ecosystem of identity and verification providers, each with different APIs, contracts, and data models, that we have to orchestrate seamlessly. Every percentage point of activation we unlock translates directly to Clara's expansion across Latin America.
The role is genuinely fullstack and tends to be backend-heavy — integrations, verification orchestration, data flows — so a backend engineer eager to expand their frontend work will feel right at home. A strong frontend engineer hungry to go deeper on the backend is equally welcome. Either way, you'll own features end to end and work in an environment where AI is central to how we build — from automating manual review steps to accelerating how we expand into new markets.
We move fast and trust our engineers to own outcomes end-to-end. That means autonomy to make decisions, proactivity to surface problems before they become blockers, and the attitude to push initiatives across the finish line without waiting to be told what to do.
Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and building backend services that power the onboarding engine: sign-up, KYB/KYC flows, document collection, verification orchestration, and account activation.
Contributing to the frontend: building intuitive, responsive interfaces that reduce friction at a high-stakes moment for the customer — and that make a complex compliance process feel simple.
Owning integrations with external providers — identity verification, document validation, business data sources — abstracting their complexity behind clean, resilient internal APIs.
Collaborating cross-functionally with Product, Design, Risk, and Compliance to translate regulatory requirements and activation goals into great product experiences.
Applying AI tools to ship faster and improve how the team works
Elevating the team through code reviews, pairing, and sharing what you know with peers
Who you are
5+ years of software engineering experience with solid execution in production environments.
Strong foundation in Java and the Spring ecosystem — Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Batch — for building robust backend services, with genuine appetite to go deeper on the frontend (React) too. A strong React engineer hungry to own the backend is equally welcome.
Comfortable architecting scalable, distributed systems and microservices that hold up under the demands of core financial products.
Solid data modeling instincts, with hands-on experience running PostgreSQL and Redis for both transactional and caching needs.
Experience building and securing RESTful APIs and integrations with third-party providers — comfortable with async and event-driven patterns (Kafka), error handling, and the messiness of external dependencies.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and modern dev tooling.
A track record of mentoring engineers and raising the bar on best practices and quality — through code reviews, pairing, and sharing what you know.
English proficiency, with the ability to lead technical discussions across geographies and turn business goals into technical solutions that actually land.
High autonomy and ownership, plus an AI-native approach: you use AI tools actively in your daily work — coding, debugging, automation — and keep pushing further.
We've kept this list short on purpose — these are the things that actually matter. If you check most of these and the rest you'd close with curiosity and the right tools, we want to hear from you.

What you'll do
What you'll do
We're looking for a Sales Lead to spearhead our growth in Brasília. In this role, you will be instrumental in expanding Clara's footprint by identifying high-value business opportunities, nurturing strategic client relationships, and driving sustainable revenue growth. Your contributions will directly impact our mission to revolutionize spend management for companies across Latin America.
Drive Sales Growth in the Federal District and Central-West: Own the end-to-end sales cycle, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to expand Clara's client base across the region.
Leverage Brasília's Unique Business Landscape: Utilize your existing relationships among finance and operations leaders — including government-adjacent and public sector-linked enterprises — to generate high-quality leads in one of Brazil's most distinctive markets.
Build and Manage a Healthy Pipeline: Oversee lead generation, qualification, and closing, ensuring a consistent and predictable flow of new partnerships.
Be a Trusted Advisor to Your Clients: Understand their complex financial needs and deliver tailored solutions via the Clara platform, building long-term relationships.
Connect Local Insights to Company Strategy: Work closely with Marketing and Product teams to bridge regional market dynamics with our broader growth agenda, using tools like Hubspot to track and optimize your impact.
Run a Tight Operation: Use Google Drive and automated workflows to maintain rigorous documentation and performance tracking.
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Must haves:
Minimum 5 years of experience in high-growth sales environments (SaaS or Fintech preferred).
Local Expertise: Currently based in Brasília with a strong, active network among finance leaders and key influencers in the region.
Communication: Working proficiency in English and Portuguese.
Execution: Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and managing complex negotiations independently.
Adaptability: Ability to thrive in fast-changing environments and operate with high ownership.
Tech-Savvy: Experience or strong interest in using AI tools and automation (like N8N or Slack) to improve sales workflows.
Nice to haves:
Technical Skills: Independent analytical skills using spreadsheets, SQL, or Python.
Language: Basic proficiency in Spanish or a desire to learn.
Tools: Prior experience using Amplemarket or Hubspot for outbound prospecting.
A good sense of humor.

Clara’s Hybrid Policy
Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.
We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.
