VP, Industry Coverage & Advisory
We’re financing the future of energy
Crux is the capital platform for the clean economy. We modernize capital raising and deployment for clean energy and critical infrastructure with solutions across advisory, investments, technology, and intelligence.
Our team of 120+ is composed of experts in energy, tax, finance, government, and technology. We have raised $77 million in capital from some of the best investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, Lowercarbon Capital, New System Ventures, Overture, Ardent Venture Partners, QED, Canapi, and others. These funds are joined by strategic investors including Pattern Energy, Clearway Energy, EDF Renewables, Intersect Power, LS Power, Orsted, Hartree Partners, Liberty Mutual Strategic Ventures, MassMutual Ventures, and OMERS Ventures.
An inflection point in American energy and manufacturing
Energy demand is growing for the first time in decades, driving an urgent need for more affordable and reliable electricity. More electricity requires new clean energy infrastructure and strong domestic supply chains for minerals and components — as well as large amounts of capital.
Traditional project financing is opaque, fragmented, and analog. At Crux, we’re changing that. Through unmatched insights and expertise, white-glove service, purpose-built tools, and risk underwriting, we power a more prosperous, clean, and secure energy future.
We are scaling quickly and looking for team members who are eager to combine deep expertise with an AI- and tech-forward mindset.
The Opportunity
We are adding a Vice President to our Industry Coverage team, with a focus on M&A advisory and debt-related mandates. Industry coverage is responsible for building relationships with and advising developers, IPPs, utilities, manufacturers, and sponsors on capital structure & formation across debt, tax equity, tax credits and future financial products. This role will take on growing responsibility for M&A advisory and debt execution specifically — owning client relationships, structuring transactions, and helping to grow Crux's M&A advisory and debt capabilities as core franchises.
What You'll Do
Own senior client relationships directly, driving strategic coverage plans and serving as a trusted advisor to developers, IPPs, utilities, manufacturers, and sponsors across the full capital stack — including M&A, debt, tax equity, and transferable tax credits.
Help drive origination, structuring, and execution of M&A advisory mandates, including sell-side processes, valuation analysis, buyer/seller outreach, and deal negotiation.
Support and increasingly help drive debt origination and advisory work across construction, term, back-leverage, tax equity bridge, and other structured debt products, partnering closely with Structuring and Capital Coverage on lender engagement and terms negotiation.
Apply deep market intelligence and product knowledge to advise clients on M&A and debt opportunities across the clean energy capital stack.
Build engagement with senior stakeholders at client organizations, while mentoring junior team members on relationship-building and deal execution.
Own the development of M&A- and debt-specific client-facing materials, including CIMs, teasers, buyer/lender lists, process trackers, valuation analyses, and financial models.
Help manage transaction execution workstreams for M&A and debt mandates, including diligence oversight, process management, and coordination with legal, financial, and technical advisors.
Drive client onboarding and ongoing engagement strategy with Crux's software and Intelligence platforms.
Champion customer feedback into Product, Operations, and software teams to shape Crux's platform roadmap.
Contribute thought leadership on M&A and debt market trends to Market Intelligence content, and represent Crux at webinars, industry events, and conferences.
What makes this opportunity distinctive
Opportunity to grow into a leadership role building out Crux's M&A advisory franchise and debt execution capability from the ground up, with increasing ownership over strategy and execution over time.
Opportunity to work across advisory, capital, software, and intelligence in a more integrated model than traditional investment banking or project finance roles.
Direct exposure to senior leadership, top-tier sponsors and strategics, and a wide range of M&A and debt transaction types across the clean energy ecosystem.
Competitive compensation, flexible working culture, and a mission-driven environment focused on accelerating the energy transition.
Help grow an established book of business; drive strategy for nurturing and expanding buyers, investors, and lenders through the customer lifecycle.
Serve as a senior strategic resource to clients throughout the M&A and debt transaction lifecycle.
Educate and advise buyers, investors, and lenders on risk, proactively resolving transaction issues before they threaten deal timelines.
Support new business development for M&A and debt mandates through conferences, networking, outreach, and other creative channels.
Build and maintain credibility and senior relationships with key contacts at corporates, family offices, accounting and tax firms, investment banks, and lenders.
What You Bring
7+ years of experience in power and utilities, renewables, clean energy finance, infrastructure M&A, debt capital markets, project finance, investment banking, or a closely related advisory role.
Demonstrated track record contributing to M&A transactions (buy-side or sell-side) and/or debt financings, with strong command of deal structuring and execution.
Deep expertise in at least one of M&A advisory or debt capital markets, with working knowledge of the other.
Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills, including M&A valuation methodologies (DCF, precedent transactions, comps) and/or debt structuring analysis (cash flow modeling, credit metrics, covenant analysis).
Proven experience preparing M&A and/or debt-related materials such as CIMs, teasers, lender presentations, information memoranda, and buyer/lender lists.
Strong track record managing multiple complex workstreams independently and maintaining high standards in a fast-moving environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication, sound professional judgment, and a client-first mindset.
Genuine excitement about clean energy, technology-enabled financial services, and the opportunity to help build new M&A advisory and debt franchises within Crux.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
FINRA SIE, Series 79, and 63, or willingness to obtain them under Crux's broker-dealer sponsorship.

Business Operations Lead
We’re supercharging the clean economy
Crux is the capital markets platform changing the way clean energy and manufacturing projects are financed in the U.S. Crux’s platform, market intelligence, and expert team help developers and manufacturers unlock financing through all stages of project development and operation.
Energy demand is growing for the first time in 20 years, driven by surging manufacturing, transportation, electrification, and data centers. Simultaneously, hundreds of billions of dollars are being invested in domestic supply chains for critical minerals and components. Developers and manufacturers will require trillions of dollars in capital to meet growing needs.
Unfortunately, the capital markets supporting this transformation remain opaque, fragmented, and complex. At Crux, we recognized the missing infrastructure: a central capital markets platform designed specifically for the next century of American energy and industry. By connecting counterparties, providing market intelligence, and streamlining transactions, we unlock faster decision making, lower cost of capital, and accelerated investment.
The Role
We are hiring a BizOps Lead to design and deploy automation-first infrastructure in our Capital Solutions Business Execution team. This role is tailored for a problem-solver who blends a deep understanding of financial and diligence operations with a tool-savvy mindset, someone who’s excited to identify bottlenecks, automate manual processes, and craft robust internal systems that help Crux scale.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role embedded deeply within our commercial teams. You’ll be instrumental in eliminating friction across go-to-market workflows, leveraging tools like HubSpot, Claude Code, and n8n, and pushing the envelope on how we use automation and AI to streamline operations, optimize our GTM motion, and enhance customer experience.
We believe that the right hire will help us build stable and scalable service delivery systems that support Crux’s growth while continually optimizing for customer satisfaction. The number one skillset we’re looking for in this role is problem scoping & execution – being able to take ambiguous and complex problem spaces, identify the core issues, prioritize across multiple solutions, and relentlessly drive toward completion.
If you have a background in working with investment teams and are energized by a scrappy environment, fast feedback cycles, and the chance to deeply shape how a platform grows from Series B into scale, we want to talk.
What you’ll do
Design and deploy systems: Build automation-driven systems that support structured product workflows and eliminate friction across the Business Execution team and their diligence efforts.
Eliminate manual work: Identify high-leverage repetitive tasks – deal evaluation, due diligence, internal handoffs, and compliance – and design scrappy, scalable automation to replace them.
Own cross-functional service delivery infra: Build reliable service infrastructure across GTM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Omni, internal systems) that enable commercial, marketing, and PDE teams to operate with higher precision and less manual intervention.
Experiment and implement quickly: Move fast on scoped MVPs, leverage off-the-shelf tooling creatively, and iterate toward operational excellence.
Use AI to accelerate process design: Champion use of AI-powered tools and workflows to accelerate internal processes and enhance customer-facing systems.
Collaborate with technical & commercial teams: Partner closely with Commercial, Growth, Product, and Engineering to ensure systems are robust, business-aligned, and adopted.
Instrument systems with data & insights: Stand up analytics and reporting systems to track performance, surface opportunities, and drive iterative improvement.
Who you are
6+ years of experience in business operations, strategic operations, management consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, finance, or a similarly rigorous analytical environment.
Experience applying AI, automation, or modern technology tools to streamline workflows, improve operational efficiency, or enable better business decision-making.
Experience partnering with investment, finance, or transaction teams, with an understanding of investment evaluation, due diligence, compliance, or complex transaction workflows.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across business, finance, product, engineering, and operations, building alignment and driving execution across multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated track record of solving ambiguous, high-impact business problems by identifying root causes, prioritizing opportunities, and designing scalable operational processes and systems.
Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth or startup environment, with a history of building new processes, iterating quickly, and balancing short-term execution with long-term scalability.

About the Role
Crux is hiring an IT Lead to own all vendor procurement, contracts, provisioning, and IT strategy, as well as the full employee technology experience across software and hardware. If technology blocks or enables someone's work at Crux, this person owns it, including execution of security policy.
What You'll Do
Own employee SSO provisioning for new-hire onboarding as well as offboarding
Drive faster turnaround on SOC2 audit requests
Audit all systems, identify usage patterns, and find cost-cutting opportunities
Vendor renegotiation cadence
Device management & endpoint tooling
What We're Looking For
4–7 years of experience in IT at a high-growth startup, ideally as the sole or primary IT owner — not one of many on a team
Hands-on depth with the modern startup IT stack: Google Workspace, an MDM platform, an identity provider, SSO/SAML, and SaaS lifecycle tooling
Direct experience contributing to a SOC2 audit cycle: owning evidence, managing a control area, or running the program
Track record negotiating SaaS contracts and rationalizing vendor spend
Comfort managing a mixed Mac/Windows environment
Bias toward automation: you see a manual provisioning request and think about how to eliminate the category, not just fulfill the ticket
Regular, practical use of AI tools as part of daily IT work; we use Claude, Harvey, and others internally and expect this role to push that frontier
Ability to operate without a team, manage a high-volume request queue, and still make time for the structural work
Tech stack: Google Workspace, Slack, Microsoft 365, Claude, GitHub, Vanta, 1Password, HubSpot, Highspot, Sybill, Granola, Harvey AI, Ramp, Navan, Vercel, Notion, Omni, BigQuery, Lattice, Adobe, and more
Bonus Points
Experience at a high-growth startup running IT
Experience running security (pattern-matching instincts for risk, even without owning strategy)
Experience working in a regulated business/industry
